Mail message displaying "blocked plug-in"

I used to copy youtube videso and send them to friends via mail... Never had a problem doing so with OSX 10.6.8
NOW alla of a sudden that is not possible and I get a "blocked plug-in" in the body of the message instead of the youtube video...
How do I get to set whatever plug-in I want blocekd or not IN MAIL?

I had the same issue. If you have a blocked plugin, you will have a disabled plugin folder somewhere. It may not be a Safari plugin, but rather Mail.app.
Look in the following foolders:
/Library/Mail/
/User/<your user name>/Library/Mail
Mountain Lion (ML) appends the folder names with "(Disabled)" - something like "Bundles (Disabled)"
Remember the Library folders are hidden by default.  To see it, click Finder -> Go To, hold the Option key and you'll see the "Library" entry. Click it to go there.
Move any plugins you find there to a location you will remember making not of where they go. Restart and open Mail. If it works you can move some plug-ins back one at a time to figure out which was the culprit.

  • When I try to play youtube video I get the message of blocked plug-in, and I can not play video using Safari. (Youtube works fine with google chrome) I tried installing flash player HTML5 etc... but still no difference.

I just installed OSX Mountian Lion, and ever since then I can not play youtube video's. I get the message of 'Blocked Plug-in' in the youtube screen. I have tried installing Adobe Flash Player. HTML 5, also tried enabling/disabling java, but nothing worked out. Is there any way I can play youtbe vieos on Safar. (It works fine with Google Chrmoe, only safari has problem)

If you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
Try uninstalling the currently installled Flash plugin (required for most YouTube content) then reinstall new >  Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
From your Safari menu bar top of your screen click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now from the menu bar click Develop > Empty Caches

  • 10.5.7 mail message display weirdness

After upgrading to 10.5.7, incoming mail is displayed as Monaco 10. I re-checked all my preferences and my message font is set to Verdana 12, as before the update.
When I compose a message to myself, it displays using Verdana 12. I send it off and the received message shows as Monaco 10.
Incoming email from others also displays as Monoco 10, even if they formatted the text.
More oddly, if I reformat the outgoing message to myself as say, Verdana 18, the incoming message will be formatted as sent.
Could this be a font problem? If so, any way to restore fonts from my time-machine backups?
Any other suggested and ideas welcomed.

  • When I try to attach a pdf to Mail, I get "Blocked plug-in"

Downloading pdfs on Safari has changed.  Now I have to select an icon at the bottom of the page.  After downloading, I get a pdf icon that is no longer the red one.  It looks like a document.  Don't know whether this is part of the problem because I didn't have that issue previously.
Anyhow, when I try to attach a downloaded pdf to a Mac Mail email I'm trying to send, all I get is "Blocked plug-in."
Adobe is version 11.0.07 and Flash (if that is pertinent) is Plug-in version 13.0.0.214 and everything is updated.  I am running Mavericks 10.9.3.
What is the problem and how do I fix it?
    Thanks from Sheryl

  • I have a Apple Mac desktop and recently was unable to access any YouTube, movies, videos, etc because a "Blocked Plug-in" message comes up with no error message. It asks to upload Abode Reader, but upon completion of this the message is the same.

I have a Apple Mac desktop and recently can no longer access Youtube, videos, movies, etc because I get a message reading "Blocked Plug-in". There's no error message but it does say to upload Abode Flash Player and the problem will be solved. I do this but it doesn't fix the problem. What am I doing wrong?

if you already downloaded the adobe flash player onto your mac and still getting that message that means you need to finish the installation of the flash player
you do this by opening a finder window and going to your downloads, find the flash player in here and then double click on it and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
after this is completed you will need to completely quit out of the web browser you're using then reopen it for the change to take affect and your issue should be resolved. if it's not you need to contact adobe their number is 800 642-3623.

  • Have Mac10.6.8;getting flash blocked plug in message; how fix?

I have IMAC with Mac 10.6.8; Safari 5.1.10. Have not been using Flash (has been a blocked plug-in for sometime; Apple must have blocked it; not me) as Flash will not work; HTML works fine & allows screens to open; I have both Safari and FireFox on my system; both won't allow Flash to work; knew the plug in was blocked; however, for the FIRST time today, tried to put in a USPS tracking number and entire system greyed out and would not let me input the number I had; earlier today, I entered another USPS tracking number and it worked fine then;  This afternoon, I noticed a small message saying "blocked plug in" had not seen before; I tried to follow the directions to update "Shockwave Flash Player" but apparantly went into some kind of "loop".  How can I fix this so my system will let me once more do common things safely and get out of the "loop"?

Older versions of Flash have security holes which is why they are blocked. You need to upgrade your Flash - Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.77. You also need:
Apple Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 17
    Apple Security Update 2013-004
Be sure you use Software Update to check for any other needed updates.

  • I'm receiving a "blocked plug-in" message in Safari

A user in my group has recently upgraded to Mac OS 10.8.4. The user has recently started receiving the following message when logging into workamajig and a few other sites:
    "Blocked plug-in"
And no access to the requested site.
I've tried updating Adobe Flash 6, turned off the the "Block all webpages from storing information on this computer" (default setting), and clearing all the cookies and history from Safari. In the past, when workamajig isn't working right, the solution is to clear the cache, but I can't find a ready way in Safari to do that, so I deleted the cookies.
I am using MacOS10.8.4 on my Mac and have been for 5 months and have access to workamjig. I've never received a message about blocked plug-in.
I'm on an iMac (Intel Core 2 Duo) and my co-worker is using a G5 Tower (QuadCore Intel Xeon).
I'm stumped at this point. There's probably something simple that I'm missing. "Reset Safari" maybe?

  • Batch save Mail messages as PDF's

I am in need of saving all of my email messages in my inbox as individual PDF documents. I know you can do it one at a time via "Print>save as PDF" but we are talking about a few hundred email messages here.
Is there anyway to take advantage of something like automator or could someone show me some software to batch save all of these messages?
Thanks so much for the help.

In Mail, select all the messages to print (a smart mailbox may help).  When all are selected do a file > save as (RTF or plain text).  This will create one printable file with all the messages.  You can then load this file into TextEdit and print it as a PDF.
Thanks -- this may be what I go with.  However, when I tried this the rtf file did contain all of the messages, but did not show the header information on each (To:, From:, Date: ...), so I continued my search for a solution.  I think I found something that works.  My project is actually larger than what I described.  Interested people may be able to use some or all of the following.
The project started when I asked a friend to send me all of the emails that I have sent him over the last 15 years.  He had archived them all in Windows / Outlook Express.  I had not archived them.  He was able to give me a .DBX file containing them all.  I used a free program called DbxConv in Windows to convert the .DBX file to a .MBX file.
In Apple Mail I did File/Import_Mailboxes/File_In_mbox_Format to import them.  Then, View/Organize_by_Conversation (checked on).  Select all messages and File/Print/PDF/Save_As_PDF into a new folder on the desktop.  This will generate many pdfs.
    Now the new part:
Next, drag all of the PDFs into Preview.  Finally, in Preview, File/Print/PDF/Save_As_PDF.  This will create a single pdf file with all messages, including imbedded attachments, with info displayed in your current Apple Mail format -- dependent on how you like your Apple Mail messages displayed (minimal header, expanded header, etc.) . . . . .  I think!
At least it worked for me, once.  I try it again and see what develops.

Upon downloading Mac OS X Snow Leopard on my MacBook Pro I get a message of "Blocked Plug In" for any video I try to watch. Please help...thought Snow Leopard would be an improvement as an operationg system. Thanks!

The DVD will install 10.6.3, you then need to do a Software Update to get to version 10.6.8.

  • Disable viewing next mail message(s) on iPad?!?

Why has this not been fixed yet?? I know there are other "mail apps" out there, but I'd love to be able to just open up my Apple Mail app on my iPad and not be forced to see a mail message displayed if there is one in my inbox.
Why can't we deselect a message in the sidebar and have the large portion of the screen on the right say, "No message selected" or it can just be a blank page for all I care - just like you have an "empty" inbox.
It's a little absurd how aggravated I get about this, but I think it is incredibly foolish to not have this option from Apple. I **HATE** to use the Mail app from Apple. Anybody else feel the same way?
