Mail message listed on iPhone but not in Mail on my iMac

Today I received a message on my iPhone but when I went to reply to it on my iMac the message did not appear even when I searched for it.
It also shows in my mail server's Webmail. This is very scary. How many other messages am I missing?

  • Some messages available to iPhone but not MacBook Mail

Any ideas why a few emails might be available to the iPhone mail but not to the mail app on my mac?
    * iPhone is set to leave messages on server.
    * message is available from server's mail interface
    * not showing up anywhere in Mac Mail.
One friend in particular I have used as a case study:
I thought it was because the emails he sent had no subject line entered. That is not it as I asked him to send again with a subject. The only other common element is that it he sent it to multiple email addresses I have. All of those accounts are entered into Mail on Mac and iPhone. This however does not seem to jam on the iPhone.
    Any ideas would be great!
    Thank you in advance.

    Excellent trick Ernie.
It does show in the *all messages on server* selection. It also shows in the *That have been downloaded to my Mac*
I did find it along with 7 other emails (out of hundreds) that are in the *That have been removed from my Mac* selection.
Is there a way to determine why it was chosen to be removed?

    Hi Irfan
CMR is Customer Master record , because we need to maintain the e-mail address in the customer master record (CMR) and that CMR  e-mail address only it has to pick when you are sending the e-mail  output to the customer
If you have maintained the condition record then Check in the condition record , VV12 wheather the partner function is SP (sold to party) or some other partner function is coming .Also check in t.code SOST E-mail queue  which partner function is coming . Because If partner function is not coming then there is a chance of sending a E-mail to a dummy E-mail address also .
Kindly check the configuration you have done again. and also integrate with the ABAP'er so that he will let you know the problem

  • Gmail Facebook Mail Comes to my iPhone, But Not My Mac

For a few days now messages from people in a couple Facebook groups (and there are a lot of them) come to my iPhone, but not to my Mac or iPad. And they are all using the same router to get to the internet. And all other mail, before and after these messages gets to all three devices.
Sometimes mail to my Mac (in both the Mail application and using Safari to access gmail) is delayed. I'll be sitting at my Mac with gmail showing I haven't got a message in hours, and notice on my iPhone I've gotten a dozen messages. I'll try to refresh on the Mac and no luck. Then maybe 15 minutes later they'll appear. Don't know whether this is related.

    Hi neil43,
If you are not able to send or receive mail on your MacBook because you are being prompted for a password that is then rejected, I recommend trying steps in this article:
OS X Mail: Troubleshooting sending and receiving email messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3276
Tip: If you see a sheet or dialog that states 'Enter the password for user "email address'", this indicates that the email service provider is having an issue with the password being sent by Mail, or there is an issue with the email account. Contact the email service provider for support. Choose Window > Connection Doctor click "Show Detail" then click "Check Again". The information displayed in the "Show Detail" drawer may include details from the email service provider about what the issue is. Look for headers that start with "[ALERT]".
The article continues on to walk you through using Connection Doctor, and based on the results, how to troubleshoot further.
    Cheers!

  • I am finding that some of me emails (mainly from companies not my friends) are coming through to my iphone but not coming through to my iMac.

For quite a while now I have missed some important emails that have come through to my iphone but not downloaded to my iMac, its happening more and more recently. It is really fustrating, I have looked at my iMac and can't find anywhere to adjust the settings to let through the missing emails, the emails that are not coming to my home pc are normaly from large companies, some from my credit card company and comformation for hotel bookings etc, etc.
    Can anyone help me please?

Problem might me with how your e.mail is set up if you're using POP3.
If you're using POP3 then you need to add "recent:" (without the quotation marks) before your username on both your iMac and your iPhone.
I use POP3 with Virgin Media and they have well documented help on this aspect.
This now works fine for me and I no longer miss any e.mails.

  • New mail shows up on iphone but NOT mail.app

Not sure if this belongs here, sorry if its the wrong place.
I have a mobile me email, and iphone, and an imac. when new mail comes in it shows up fine on iphone and when i FIRST launce mail.app. However, if a second email comes in, mail.app will not 'see it'. iphone will.
how is this possible? and how do i fix it?
    thanks

On my set up, with the mobile me sync panel set to automatic and mail accounts ticked, I recieve incoming mail instantly. (on phone and mac)
Mail Accounts under the Sync tab for your MobileMe account settings is for syncing email account settings with the Mail.app between multiple Macs only. This has nothing to do with Fetching messages or new messages being pushed to the Mail.app or to the iPhone.
The iPhone includes a Push setting, which can be turned on or off. Are you saying if you turn Push access off on your iPhone and leave Mail Accounts selected under the Sync tab for your MobileMe account settings on your Mac, new messages will be pushed to your iPhone with your MobileMe account even though Push access is turned off on your iPhone?
+There is no setting at System Preferences > MobileMe under the Sync tab that has anything to do with the Mail.app.+
+The Fetch setting for the Mail.app is at Mail > Preferences under the General tab.+
+The Mail.app setting that allows for Push access with an IMAP account is available under the Advanced tab for the account preferences - use IDLE command if the server supports it.+
The iPhone includes a Fetch setting, which is used if Push access is turned off. The iPhone includes a global push setting - on or off, and you can enable or disable push access separately for received messages, contacts and calendars with a MobileMe account. I don't have push access enabled for received messages with my MobileMe account on my iPhone, but I do have push access enabled for contacts and calendar events.
The MobileMe sync settings under the Sync tab for your MobileMe account preferences has nothing to do with the Mail.app and checking for new messages or syncing server stored mailboxes with the Mail.app or with the iPhone's Mail client.

  • E-Mail shows up on alert, but not under mail

First time owner of an iPhone...I have the 4S.  I setup my personal and work e-mail.  The "front page" shows 100 new e-mails, but when I go into mail it is on the "welcome to mail" page.  I found one thread that suggests going into Settings...Mail, Contacts, Calendar...choosing account and then going into advance settings and directing e-mail to in-box...but there doesn't seem to be this option.  Any ideas?

  • How can I save mail messages to my computer and not my mail program

My mail program seems to be slow.  I'm not sure why.  I get the spinning ball frequently.  I need to save mail messages sometimes for a few years and there are hundreds of emails. Is it better to save them on my computer than my mail program?  I may need to retrieve them at some other time so they need to be readable.  Is that possible?
    I'm using OS X 10.9.4. I have a 3.06 GHz processor and 12 GB of memory.  Thanks

You can select to export a folder to save as a .mbox file. This file would need to be imported if you wanted to view the messages.
    Select mailbox (folder)
Under Mailbox in the Menu bar select Export Mailbox...
You might also want to check out the demo for EagleFiler by the author for SpamSieve. You could view and search the messages archived in EagleFiler.

    Regarding Mail being slow....
Is it only Mail that is slow?  How much free space on your drive? Use Disk Utility to find available space.

  • The outlook calendar from work shows on iPhone but not on iCloud website or iMac

I have an iMac running latest OS, iPhone 5S running latest OS. The outlook calendar from my work pushes out to iPhone, and my iPad, but not to the iCloud website and not to the iMac.
    Any ideas??

The only calendar which should be showing in Outlook is the iCloud calendar.  The other calendars if showing are local to your machine.  If you have to move the events you are creating in Outlook to iCloud, the wrong calendar is being used when you set up the event.

  • Mail.03 will download received mail from Gmai uising pop but not sent mail

After upgrading to Leonard, I decided to reconfigure my gmail with Mail.03 (hopping to eliminate the non sound issue when new mail arrives. Prior to this Gmail downloaded all received and sent mail. After, only received mail is downloaded but sent mail is No not. (Nor can I successfully send mail using Mail 0.3 through gmail.
I tried setting up an imap account and could not download any sent or received items.

    Hi Hector.
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, and making sure that there’s enough space available on the startup disk (a few GB, plus the space needed to make a backup copy of the Mail folder), try this:
    1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
    2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. Make a backup copy of this folder, just in case something goes wrong, e.g. by dragging it to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down. This is where all your mail is stored.
    3. Locate Envelope Index and move it to the Trash. If you see an Envelope Index-journal file there, delete it as well.
    4. Move any “IMAP-” or “Mac-” account folders to the Trash. Note that you can do this with IMAP-type accounts because they store mail on the server and Mail can easily re-create them. DON’T trash any “POP-” account folders, as that would cause all mail stored there to be lost.
    5. Open Mail. It will tell you that your mail needs to be “imported”. Click Continue and Mail will proceed to re-create Envelope Index -- Mail says it’s “importing”, but it just re-creates the index if the mailboxes are already in Mail 2.x format.
    6. As a side effect of having removed the IMAP account folders, those accounts may be in an “offline” state now. Do Mailbox > Go Online to bring them back online.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder.

  • My iPhone is not receiving mail but these messages continue to flash at the bottom of the screen:  Checking for messages, Updated just now, checking for messages, etc.  After a minute or so it will flash downloading 1 - 32 messages but nothing is received

My iPhone is not receiving mail but the following messages continue to flash over and over at the bottom of the screen:  "Checking for messages, Updated just now, Checking for messages", etc.  After a minute or so it will flash downloading 1 - 32 messages but nothing is received and then the "Checking for Messages," etc. starts back again.   I turned the phone off for 30+ minutes and also tried to reset it, but the problem continues.   Any ideas on how to solve the problem?

Double click the home button and swipe up the messages app to stop it, then open the app again. This pretty much completely stops the process and freshly opens it again, resolving problems at times. I have had this happen before as well on my iPad, I get a banner, check messages, and nothing new is there.
If that doesn't work, close the app like suggested above, but then restart the phone by holding down the home and lock button for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears.
