Mail not closing

Hi,
Before 10.4.4 I started having problems with Mail - won't close - have to force quit every time.
Also when I open it back up it seems to have no recall that I checked all of the messages from last time - they show up "mark as unread" again....

Otherwise you would know exactly what I meant about 'leftover files"
This is a very important issue, and the need to make certain observations, and subsequent cleanup must first be ruled out. Forcing Mail to re-index would be of little value IF each mailbox still had the index file leftover from Panther construction.

Ever since the last update, my mail has totally messed up my computer. When it's open, it slows down my whole system.
My mail itself cannot be closed. I have to force close it. Messages cannot be deleted. My main POP account just spins and spins and spins like it's trying to retreive messages - but does nothing.
Once I force close - and then reopen - all the deleted messages are back and it has all my messages as unread.
HELP!!!!!

daidra, if you really followed T_Taz advice, you might be in trouble now. T_Taz doesn't know what he/she is talking about and he/she had already demonstrated that in another thread. Why some people think it's a good idea to give advice about things they don't understand, I don't know.
The first thing you should do now is to make sure you haven't screwed your whole system by moving the Fonts folder out of where it should be. Read the following article:

Which Fonts folder exactly is the one you've moved to the Desktop? Where is it now? Have you restarted after moving the folder back to where it should be?
When I went to verify/repair - it could not be
completed? Said something was wrong with my exit?
Verifying/repairing your disk is the first thing I told you to do. You replied without giving any indication of whether you had already done it or not. Did you really verify/repair your disk then? Has this problem appeared after moving the Fonts folder out of its place? What exactly is the error message Disk Utility is giving you?

Mi Mail is not closing. I got a Mac book pro.

I would like to suggest to Flor María Dávila Pinos to sign in here and mark it as unsolved, as Lareg said.
And since we don't have a real solution, i start wondering if this new feature of answering an e-mail message using the dialog box of the notification bar is causing this. I've disabled it today, just in case...it's not a solution, of course - but if it works, is a clue to Apple Support

My mail screen is not closing and my mac book will not shut down till "i close out my mail screen." The problem is i cant pull it up or see it. and i cant close it.... someone help please.

Is it still happening?
Happens to me all the time, both when I ran Muntain Lion and now on Mavericks.
I think force-quitting should be an exceptional measure, not the regular way to close an app.
Anyone knows what the problem could be?

Blackberry notes sync with Apple mail notes

When I sync my blackberry it says that the notes sync with the Apple mail notes, but I cannot find the Apple mail notes. How do I access them??

I had the same problem. It actually syncs the memos to Mail. Open Mail from your computer, and on the left side there should be drop menus called: Mail, Reminders, and RSS. On mine, Reminders was closed, so I dropped it, and there was another menu called "Notes", and viola! There were all the Blackberry Notes, ready to go! It's literally saved in "Apple Mail Notes".

When I try to zoom the text of an e-mail I received or sent , I can no longer use the keys Command + to enlarge the text, although I can reduce it with Command -.
As I have a problem with my eyes, This is a serious matter for me.
When I write an e-mail, if I select text and press Command +, it just displaces the text to the right.
Now, my husband has a USB keyboard. If he connects it to my computer, his regular Command + does not work either, but he uses the extended keyboard, then it works. Unfortunately, he needs it for a musical application which does not work with a wireless keyboard.

Firefox 3.6.4 and 3.6.6 use a process called, "plugin-container.exe" which was using up most of my CPU when I opened up multiple tabs that contained Adobe Flash files, and caused Firefox to lock up.
My solution was to use Firefox 3.5.10 which you can get from the Mozilla website at [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html]
I am using Adobe Flash 10.1.53.64 without any problem in this version of Firefox. Check the release notes, I believe it contains all the latest security fixes in "Firefox 3.6.4".
Hopefully, they will fix Firefox 3.6 in the next version (e.g. Firefox 3.6.7), until then you should probably use "Firefox 3.5.10".

Junk mail not automatically moved to Junk folder

Hello.
I'm using an IMAP account and have configured Mail to move junk mail to the chosen junk mail folder (junk is not filtered on the server but on my client). Since the junk mail filter is still learning sometimes junk mail is not detected and still goes to the inbox. That's okay.
If I then select that message it is somehow miraculously detected and marked as junk. However, it is not automatically moved to the junk folder but remains in the inbox marked as junk?
Is this desired behaviour? Why is the mail not automatically moved to the junk folder, like it is when I manually mark a mail as junk?

I just happened to notice that even mail that is automatically marked as spam/junk remains in my inbox. So I open the inbox folder and there is message that is marked as junk. Only when I manually reset and set the junk status is the message moved to the junk folder.
This seems to be the case in an IMAP acount where all folders (sent, drafts, spam, etc.) are subfolders of the actual inbox folder.
Is anyone else experiencing this behaviour?

Mail not working.. no error message

Good day everyone!
I have a problem since two days now. I have mail not updating email received and not sending email either. Tried the "Connection Doctor", and it says connections are ok. I have no problems to open and type a new message, but looks like the message is never sent, there is no copy in the sent folder. I have tried to send messages from my account to me, doesn't work. Then, from outside (a yahoo account) without any result.
However, I never got a message saying that the message can not be send or what ever...
Any ideas?

I am also having a problem, but mine is worse...I can't even get mail to open. The Mail window opens, but then I get the spinning wheel and nothing else. Is there a way to reload mail and not the entire Tiger OS? I can check my email accounts online, but I prefer to use Mac mail.

SAP Production Order not closing

I am running the COHV with Complete parameter in the background, and it does pick up several TECO orders from the past, like say from 2009 which are not closed but it does not process them to CLSD status.
I am seeing some entries in COHV, CO1P, COFC transactions - I picked a few randomly to check.
The order qty is not always equal to the delivered qty - Again a random test
The consumption qty on the components is not always equal to the required qty, which leaves reservation open - random check
Is all the above causing my order not to close ? where do I see the error log, when I try to close the order. I wrote the above issues based on my random check.

Hi SAP Process,
When you run COHV to close the orders, you can see the log with the list of orders that have not been closed.
To see in detail what has happened you will need to check order by order.
Other option will we to evaluate each situation separatelly. You can check COGI, CO1P, see open reservations, check if you have TR or TO if you use WM, etc.. Once each situation is cleaned, you will be able to closed most of your production orders. It is quite common to create a custom report to make all these checks (COGI, TR/TOs, etc) and closed the orders.

Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.
