Mail not following rules set by outlook

Hello everyone,
I cannot figure this one out.  I have rules set up in outlook to sort mail into folders, but ios mail will not follow them.  The folder shows up in ios mail, but all the emails still go to inbox while the folder remains empty.  I am running ios7.1
Also, is there a way to turn off notifications for this folder only?  I would not like to be alerted when mail arrives in this folder, but still alerted for mail arriving at my inbox.
Thanks

After reading that thread over a few more times and doing some more research, what I found is that what I am asking to do is impossible.  IOS mail cannot follow rules made by exchange that are client side only.  Sorting mail by keywords in the subject line is a rule that can only be applied on the client side and not the server side.

  • Apple Mail not received as sent to Outlook

    I am puzzled. I send a reply to an email, and the receiving party only receives what I typed, not their original email appended at the bottom. I highlighted the original post, which I thought meant it would be included. This is NOT an attachment, but in the body of the email. The receiving party uses Outlook for the PC. The receiving party is actually several email addresses. I have included myself in the To: and I receive the entire email as I sent it with the original email. The other parties do not. My mail server is Gmail, as is my address. In my Preferences, Composing, Responding, I have both "Quote the text of the original message" and "Include all of the original message text" selected. Can someone direct me to solve this problem? Thanks!

    you are doing everything just right.
    it sounds like the problem is on the receivers end, they may have a setting that is preventing this. you isolated it by stating you sent the email to yourself with the quoted text, and the quoted text showed up fine. you are good to go, the receivers need to do the troubleshooting.

  • Mail not reading email sent from Outlook.

    I know of the RTF issue from Outlook, however I have an interseting issue.
    Sender (using Outlook 2007 with mail format set to html) sends an email to myself and another coworker (both of us are using Apple Mail on 10.8.2).
    I receive the email just fine.
    My coworker receives the email with a winmail.dat.
    Any tips would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Until I can figure this out, I had my coworker download TNEF's Enough ( http://www.joshjacob.com/mac-development/tnef.php ) It's not perferable but at least he can read the emails right now.

    Hi,
    We have a smartform that has date fields that are to follow the format given in the country settings.
    But i cannot seem to make the fields be printed out by the country settings. Ís the variable field to be of a special type?
    I would rather not hard code these settings in the smartform.

  • Display sleep not following preference setting

    Hi,
    On my MacBook Pro I have set the energy saving preference to never let the display go to sleep. However, every 5 minutes or so the display does go to sleep. I have tried resetting the SMC and NVRAM but it has had no effect.
    Is there anything else I can try? Does anybody know which file holds the energy saver preferences? Perhaps I could try deleting that? Any other suggestions?
    S

    As phrased, I have the same issue, after upgrading to Yosemite, but the symptoms are exactly the opposite.  My settings are set to put the display to sleep after 10 minutes, but it no longer auto-sleeps, ever.  It will sleep and stay sleeping only when I manually put it in sleep mode.

    Hello Guys,
    I found the solution. Use mulitple rules for the account. I had follishly thought that each account could only have one rule. By setting up another rule that says "does not contain" the certain "word", move to trach, resolved the issue.
    It nice to answer my own question, inspite of the fustration in learning. What a way to learn! I am happy to share.

  • Forward mail with attachment (not WorkItem) from SBWP to Outlook

    Hallo,
    we want to forward mails (not WorkItems) form SBWP to Outlook.
    The forwarding works fine for the mail but if the mail includes an attachment from type object  (e.g. send object with note in MM03) we are not able to open the object in the mail. We want to open the object so that automatically SAP GUI is started and the corresponding object is shown in SAP.
    In SBWP we are able to open the attachment in Outlook not. Are there any settings in SAP where we can define that.
    Have we to define something parameters of the Integrated ITS?
    We want the same behaviour for mails with attachments as for WorkItems if they are forwarded to Outlook.
    We get an HTML mail in Outlook like
    If you are not forwarded automatically, use the following link:
    If the link is not to a valid server, log on to the SAP system and check the following object:
    System: XYZ
    Client: 300
    BOR Object Type BUS1001006
    BOR Object Key 0000700075
    But there is no link to follow in the mail and nothing happens.
    Thanks

  • 6350 instant messages not obeying profile setting

    When i use yahoo instant messenger on my nokia 6350 it will not follow the set profile for silent alerts.  If my phone is set to vibrate or silent, the new instant message tone still plays. I've tried changing the instant message settings to sound and vibrate to vibrate only or no sound. Nothing seems to work.  Does anyone have any ideas for a solution?

    I'm getting this too. Switching to a different folder and back gets rid of the blue dot. This only happens with my exchange account. All other accounts work normally.

  • Invalid Rule set

    We recently dropped a table level rule and now the following rule sets are invalid:
    APPLY_QUEUE_R
    CAPTURE_QUEUE_R
    These are rule sets for the following contexts:
    AQ$_CAPTURE_QUEUE_V
    AQ$_APPLY_QUEUE_V
    Now when we run a streams healthcheck report, it errors out with an ORA-07445 on the gv$rule table.
    How do we validate these rulesets? There is no pertinent info on Metalink.
    We have an SR pending, but any information would be appreciated.
    Thanks all!

    We figured out the issue. You need to first remove a rule from its rule set before dropping it.
    STRMADMIN@str_dev>
    begin
    dbms_rule_adm.remove_rule( rule_name => 'strmadmin.bug_task404', rule_set_name=> 'strmadmin.apply_rule_set');
    end;
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    dbms_rule_adm.drop_rule(rule_name => 'strmadmin.bug_task404', force => false );

  • Rules set in mail are suddenly not working?

    I had my rules set in mail and now they are suddenly not working, what to do to fix?

    I'm having the same problem, but not with all messages. Only a few slip through. However, when I right-click and Apply Rules to individual emails, the rule suddenly works.
    What I'd like to work (and it doesn't), is to be able to select-all emails in inbox and then right-click, Apply Rules. But this never works. AND it'd be must faster than doing it individually. Thx!

  • PDF attachments in Mail not showing up in Outlook

    I am using the Mail client on Snow Leopard to send a message with a pdf attachment. This attachment is not visible to recipients using Outlook 2010. Why? Windows Friendly Attachments setting is on. The PDF file was created by printing from Pages.

    sorry, I should have been clearer
    If you have an Exchange server; you need to apply the required Update Rollup to the Exchange server, rather than local Outlook clients.   Noe that the Outlook Web Access should still display the PDF attachment.
    "Consider the following scenario:
    You have a server that has Update Rollup 3 for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3 (SP3) installed.
    You use a Mac Mail client to send an email message that includes a PDF attachment to a mailbox on the server.
    You open the email message by using Outlook 2010.
    In this scenario, the PDF attachment in the email message is not displayed.
    Note The PDF attachment is displayed when you open the email message by using Outlook Web Access (OWA).
    RESOLUTION
    To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:

  • I have messages in mail that are color-coded as if by a rule, but I have no rules set. How can I correct this?

    The only rule that I ever had in Mail was the default one that color coded messages from Apple blue. I notice that some messages are color-coded brown and I have no rules set at al (hence no rule to turn off.)  Some of the messages are related to viewing online magazine, but not all.  How can I stop this?

    Hi. Thanks for your message.
    Well, I understand what you are trying to say but I thought it was easier to categorize in Apple Mail.
    On Entourage I just click twice on a sender address, record it on Address book and give it a colour that I previously defined as "Work", "Personal", "Customers", "Suppliers", "Friends" or whatever.
    As Apple Mail don't have Address Book as part of it but an outside feature it's very annoying. Of course I am used to use a software and I don't expect now Apple Mail do everything as Entourage but... as someone said it seems Apple Mail stopped in time. The recent version seems the first one ever issued. I hate the way Mail.app handles attachments by placing big chunky previews right in my email. I prefer them to be named attachments listed somewhere else, out of the content of my email. I don't if I can change this via terminal commands? Can you tell me if that is possible?
    I don't understand why Apple Mail have lots of plugins instead of a great improvment from the backstage.
    I use Apple computers since ever and I love this machines but sometimes I don't understand this lake of improvments.
    Take a look at this link:
    http://scottworldblog.wordpress.com/2009/10/12/microsoft-entourage-vs-apple-mail /
    Of course I don't agree 100% with him but some things are true...

  • Rules in Mail not being applied after Mavericks update

    Hi everyone, I know there are a lot of threads already discussing similar issues, but so far I've been unable to find one that helps resolve my particular issue. Ever since upgrading to Mavericks my rules are not being applied in Mail. I will give you a screenshot of one of my rules:
    I have about five rules that follow the same pattern: search for particular string in the FROM field and mark it with a color if the string is present. These rules all worked fine in Snow Leopard. All of my rules are still present after the upgrade and all checked as active. When I "select all" messages in my inbox and press Option-Cmd-L the rules are applied properly. However, the rules are not applying themselves when new mail comes in. As far as I can tell this does not have anything to do with the mail not being recognizes “as a new message” like, for example, because the mail was already read on my phone. It happens even if my other devices are offline and the only thing I am using to check mail is my laptop.
    I am using a MacBook Pro 2.3 GHz Intel Core Duo with OS X 10.9.1, in case that matters.
    Thanks for any advice!

    I think I've found at least a partial solution to the Mail - Rules Don't Work problem:
    In "Mail" go to the menu Mailbox and click on Rebuild.
    If you have a lot of stuff, this will take several minutes to finish.
    I also reviewed all my rules and made a few minor changes.
    Mixed results:  I found that running "Apply Rules" didn't work on email already received; but new mail did.  I don't quite understand that, but I call it a partial success.

  • Deployment Rule Sets do not properly launch the latest available version from the JRE6 family when the jpi-version is specified by the RIA

    Issue Summary
    In Java 1.7 Update 71, Java 1.7 Update 72 and Java 1.8 Update 25 Deployment Rule Sets do not properly launch the latest available version from the JRE6 family when the jpi-version is specified by the RIA.  We've noticed this with Oracle Forms and Reports 11g where we have forms that specify Java 1.6 Update 20.  We used to be able to specify Java 1.6 Update 26 in our Ruleset, but now the only version a that works in our ruleset is Java 1.6 Update 20 which is the same version requested by the JPI-Version attribute of the jar.  The long term solution would be to upgrade Oracle Forms and Reports, however this isn't currently in the cards.

    Test 1 (Control)
    Installed Java Versions:
    – 1.7 Update 51 b13 (both x86 and x64 however x86 is invoked)
    – 1.6 Update 26 b03 (both x86 and x64 however x86 is invoked)
    Deployment Ruleset works as expected for both URLs
    Test 2
    Installed Java Versions:
    – 1.7 Update 72 (both x86 and x64 however x86 is invoked)
    – 1.6 Update 26 b03 (both x86 and x64 however x86 is invoked)
    The RuleSet works for JavaTester.org however on internaldomain.name we get the following error:
    With the trace logging turned on, I suspected the version attribute supplied by the RIA. I was able to trick Java by adding the following to my system deployment.properties file:
    deployment.javaws.jre.0.product=1.6.0_20
    deployment.javaws.jre.0.path=C\:\\Program Files (x86)\\Java\\jre6\\bin\\javaw.exe
    deployment.javaws.jre.0.enabled=true
    Because the RIA requests 1.6.0_20 it matches 1.6* from the deployment ruleset sooner than 1.6.0_26. However, if 1.6.0_20 is not available 1.6.0_26 should match according to the Deployment Rule Set documentation:
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/technotes/guides/jweb/security/deployment_rules.html
    The version of the JRE that is used is determined by the following order of precedence:
    1. The current version of the JRE is used if it is available and matches both the version attribute and the version requested by the RIA.
    2. The latest available version of the JRE is used if it matches both the version attribute and the version requested by the RIA.
    3. The current version of the JRE is used if it is available and matches the version attribute.
    4. The latest available version of the JRE is used if it matches the version attribute.
    If no version is available that meets the criteria, then the RIA is blocked, and a message is shown to the user. To provide a custom message, include the message element.
    As a result:
    If Java 1.6.0_20 is listed in the version requested by the RIA and 1.6.0_20 is listed in the deployment.properties file, #1 matches.
    If Java 1.6.0_20 is listed in the version requested by the RIA, but 1.6.0_20 is NOT listed in the deployment.properties file the #1 SHOULD match, but doesn’t. It used to match up-to and including JRE 1.7 Update 51 however the ruleset appears to no longer match in subsequent versions.
    #2 should never match with our current Deployment Ruleset. It would match if we specified 1.7* as a version in the Ruleset.xml.
    #3 used to be broken as well after JRE 1.7 Update 51 however this bug has been marked as fixed. See: http://bugs.java.com/view_bug.do?bug_id=8032781
    I have reproduced this issue with Java 1.7 Update 71, Java 1.7 Update 72, and Java 1.8 Update 25 when one of these versions are installed with Java 1.6 Update 26.

    The interesting parts in this post are as follows;
    When an after-market graphics card is installed into a motherboard with UEFI enabled in the system BIOS, or if the system is a certified Windows 8 PC with Secure Boot enabled, the system may not boot.
    UEFI is a new system BIOS feature that is provided on most new motherboards. A UEFI system BIOS is required in order for the Windows 8 Secure Boot feature to work. Secure boot is enabled by default on certified Windows 8 PCs.
    In order to get the PC to boot with a graphics card that does not contain UEFI firmware, the end-user must first disable the secure boot feature in the system's SBIOS before installing the graphics card.
    Note: Some system SBIOS's incorporate a feature called compatibility boot. These systems will detect a non-UEFI-enabled firmware VBIOS and allow the user to disable secure boot and then proceed with a compatibility boot. If the system contains a system SBIOS the supports compatibility boot, the user will need to disable secure boot when asked during boot process
    This leads me to believe that the BIOS update that wrecked my setup was 9SKT58A/9SJT58A, which only contains one change;
    "Adds support for updating BIOS from a WIN7 BIOS to a WIN8 BIOS".
    I've just ordered a cheap UEFI-compatible GT640 from Gainward, so I hope I'll be able to try that out this weekend.

  • 7u45: MacOS X: Deployment Rule Set not found?

    Per the Deployment Rule Set packaging instructions:
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/technotes/guides/jweb/deployment_rules.html#package
    "Install the DeploymentRuleSet.jar file on your users' systems in the following directories:
    On Windows platforms, install the file in the <Windows-directory>\Sun\Java\Deployment directory, for example, c:\Windows\Sun\Java\Deployment.
    On Mac OS X and UNIX platforms, install the file in the /etc/.java/deployment directory.
    To view the active rule set, see the Security section of Java Control Panel."
    I am able to use and view the rule set on Windows and Linux platforms, but the deployment rule set is not seen under MacOS X (10.9 Mavericks).
    I placed it in:
    /etc/.java/deployment/DeploymentRuleSet.jar and yes, it is properly signed, in the correct format, etc. Identical file works fine under Windows and Linux.
    Anyone else have this issue?

    Hurray!! I finally found out how to get the JCP to display the DeployementRuleSet.jar file.
    The path in the documentation (/etc/.java/deployment) is wrong (at least on Mac OSX 10.7.5)!.
    I went through the decompilation of the ControlPanel source code, and found out that the expected path for the jar file is
    /Library/Application Support/Oracle/Java/Deployment
    Note:The Deployment directory has to be created
