Mail not working on iphone or mac???

I went on vacation, came home and my mail won't work on my iphone or my mac. It works on my ipad though. I've updated the iphone by connecting to my mac, but still doesn't work!
Iphone
When I go to the mail button, it says welcome to mail...then gives me options, I click on Icloud (which I use on my ipad) and it takes me to a window to enter my email and password, tries to verify and then says that my email is already added "This iCloud acct has already een added to your Iphone". Okay...so how the heck do I check my e-mail or get it to push in to the mail app/button? Driving me nuts!
ON my mac
I open my mail and it asks for password which I enter and nothing happens - it asks for password again...my password has not changed!!!
What is going on and why all the sudden has something changed? I'm very fustrated and the support from Apple/iCloud wants $$$ but I didn't change anything so why should I have to pay to correct! I'm so fustrated!!! Please help.

Try Restarting / rebooting  your Mac before doing anything more drastic..

i got new mini mac and mail not working. i get this message.
You have Mail version 4.2 (1078/1084). It can’t be used on Mac OS X Version 10.6.8 (Build 10K549). For more information, click the Help button.
    dont know what to do
    thanks

Should be Mail 4.5.  With Spotlight, check to see if you have more than one version of the Mail app onboard.  Also, make sure that there is one at the root level of the Applications folder, and that it is namely simply Mail before applying the Combo.

  • ICloud mail not working on iPhone after updating password

    Hi folks,
I have an iPhone 4 with last iOS 5.0.1 with an iCloud account working perfectly.
The only thing that doesn't works is the mail.
My account was a MobileMe account.
I upgraded to iCloud, I had some problems with the transiction and I discovered the problem was the password (only lower case letters, no numbers) and so I changed my mobileme/iCloud password with the new password requirements.
Now on iPhone iCloud mail can't receive emails.
I have the same account configured on my MacBook Pro with Lion and iCloud mail is working, BUT with the old password (the lower case one)!
On the iPhone I CAN'T change only the mail password.
    Could you help me ?

    Ok, I found the solution
I have to CHANGE AGAIN my iCloud password (aka Apple ID password).
    Now everything is working.
    Thanks for watching!

  • Mail not working on iPhone yesterday April 10, 2015

JJust found that I can't get my yahoo mail on iPhone 6 Mail

Yahoo mail has been having issues for some time. Some users have reported that removing the account from the phone and then using the "Other" setting in mail rather than the Yahoo preset has allowed them to get it to work. No guarantee, as I do not use Yahoo and cannot confirm if this works or not. Others have contacted Yahoo support, or others have just waited it out. Yahoo is famous for lousy email support.

  • Yahoo mail not working on iPhone and iPad

My yahoo mail on my iPhone and iPad has not been working since Wednesday, Sept 7th.  I deleted and re-added the account and it did not make a difference.  Anyone else having this problem?

Talk to Yahoo. They have been having seeming massive problems with their mail system communicating with mobile devices if these forums are any indication. You can try removing and re-adding the account, but odds are this is not a problem with your phone, it is a problem with Yahoo.

Iphone 5 yahoo account stop working when the new upgrade came out. What the problem?

    Hello tifftann,
I'm sorry, I'm a bit unclear what exactly you mean when you say that your Yahoo account "stop[ed] working". If you are having issues sending or receiving from the Yahoo mail account you have configured on your iPhone after a recent iOS update, you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:

  • Outgoing mail not working for iphone and Microsoft Outlook

I am a realtor and I just recently started using Microsoft Outlook as I was told that was the best for contact management. I was using Yahoo. Now I can receive but I CANNOT SEND. If I try it says "The connection to the outgoing server "smtp.pamelainhawaii.com" failed" I have tried changing the Server Port to 465, 110 etc and turning the SSL on and off and it doesn't seem to sense my email address which is my website. I did sign up for Yahoo Plus so it would connect my yahoo address with my Outlook one.....Can anyone help me?

    Pamelainhawaii,
Who do you pay to to host your email?
Outlook is an email client, it isn't the server, it is how you retrieve your email.
Look at your email like a PO Box, in which case the Post Office "hosts" the PO box.
Your email client is what you use to get to the server, kind of like your car might be how you drive down to the post office.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • I am having problems gettting my mail to work ... Mac telling me that my start up disk id full and to delete some files to free up space ... have done this but when i open mail from the dock it just brings up the colour wheel and nothing happening

I am having problems gettting my mail to work ... Mac telling me that my start up disk id full and to delete some files to free up space ... have done this but when i open mail from the dock it just brings up the colour wheel and nothing happening ... it shows when you right click on the mail icon that " application not responding"

If your hard drive is getting full, you need to free up, at least, 20 GBs of space on your iMac's hard drive.
If your Mac is running a fairly recent version of OS X, here are some general guidelines.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Other things you can do to gain space.
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it run the automatic ans S.M,A.R.T. tests,  then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the tabs that have the ability to clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.
    Good Luck!

  • Hand off not working on iPhone 5

hand off not working between iPhone and iPad Air.
Any suggestion. both using same iCloud ID's
    thanks

    Hi there SZkiyani,
You may need to verify that Bluetooth is enabled on the devices as well. Take a look at the aritlce below for more information.
Connect your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch using Continuity
Use Handoff with Apple apps such as Mail, Safari, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Maps, Messages, Reminders, Calendar, Contacts. You can also use Handoff with some third-party apps. Start a document, email, or message on one device and pick up where you left off on another device.
    To use Handoff:
On both devices, you'll need to turn on Bluetooth and sign in to the same iCloud account.
Use one of the apps listed above on one of your devices.

  • Will mail still work on my power mac G5 after icloud?

I have an intel macbook pro that I suppose I need to upgrade so I can use icloud.  But will mail still work on my Power Mac G5 that can not be upgraded past Leopard?

You should be able to enter the email server settings manually:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudmail.html
This page assumes Snow Leopard: probably Leopard, where Mail is similar, should work but I can't confirm it. The key item is the ability to use SSL, which MobileMe doesn't.

  • Google Mail not pushing on iPhone 4

    Hello everyone,
I got my iPhone 4 last weekend and been setting it up since. Everything works just fine now, except for the push mail. I'm using a Google Mail Account that collects from my actual mail account because GMX does not provide free pushing. I've used this setup for half a year on my Windows Mobile phone, and it has always worked just fine, incoming mails were pushed within 10 seconds max.
But now I have to go into my inbox to get mails downloaded to my iPhone. I created the mail account on my iPhone using Add Account... - Google Mail. Fetch New Data" is set to "Push", and I don't see anything else I can about this in my iPhone settings.
Am I missing something or is this just not working on iPhone?
Thanks in advance and best regards,
    Nate
