Mail only in portrait?

I used to be able to view my mail in landscape, but now it only comes up portrait... The lock is not on because the other items come up as landscape any suggestions?

Many times one of these fixes will work. Give them a try.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit the mail app and restart. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Try closing the Mail app via the taskbar and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Unity Connection Voice Mail Only- NO MWI template

I am deploying a site with 8,000 mailboxes. 4,000 of those users are voice mail only without a telephone and will NOT require MWI.
I can manually remove the MWI setting from each mailbox, but I am looking at either a BATCH CSV setting or a TEMPLATE that I can turn OFF mwi when creating the users.
Any ideas?

This setting change is available via Bulk Edit
Bulk Edit> Messages> Disable MWI functionality for this user
Bulk Edit changed in 8.x from where it was accessed in 7.x.
Here's a clip that speaks to how this is run now. You first search and select all
the users you want to change and then choose Bulk Edit;
To Edit User Account Information in Bulk Edit Mode (some editing from original > this example
is for Caller Input settings but you'll see the point)
Step 1 In Cisco Unity Connection Administration, on the Search Users page, check the applicable user check boxes, and select Bulk Edit.
If the user accounts that you want to edit in bulk do not all appear on one Search page, check all applicable check boxes on the first page, then go to the next page and check all applicable check boxes, and so on, until you have selected all applicable users. Then select Bulk Edit.
Step 2 On the Edit Caller Input page, change settings as applicable.
Note The Status message at the top of the Edit Caller Input page tells you how many user accounts are being edited. Also note that the page is populated only with the fields that you are allowed to edit in bulk mode, and that the fields available for edit also depend on whether all of the user accounts reside on the local server.
Step 3 If applicable, set the Bulk Edit Task Scheduling Fields to schedule the Bulk Edit operation for a later date and/or time.
Step 4 Select Submit.
Step 5 If applicable, continue to change settings for these user accounts on the related pages available from the Edit menu. As you make changes on each page, select Submit before going on to the next page to make additional changes.

Try a couple of test users first to come up with the exact plan.
If you prefer you can also use Bulk Edit via .csv
As a test here I tried the Bulk Edit and chose;
User with Voicemail > Users referenced in this CSV file > Next
This then allowed me to browse to an existing "basic" .csv that I had
used to create a test user recently when playing with BAT. In this .csv
I had one user named Bob Uncle with DN/ext 5126. So when I used this method
the Bulk Edit tool (smart puppy ) selected only Bob Uncle for my edit choices
and I was able to change the Disable MWI functionality for this user
Again, please try manipulating some test users to perfect
your methodology.

Sounds as if you used Microsoft software to make a PDF. If so, and you didn't use Adobe Acrobat ($$), then you need to get help with Publisher -- Adobe Reader only shows what you make.

But not all messages.. and not for mails from apple domain.

Nevermind, the problem fixed itself. I don't know what happened; I think I restarted my computer, and the problem was gone. Nevermind!

Mail only sends the first page of PDF files

since I upgraded to OS 10.8.3, when I send a PDF attachment using Mail only the first page is sent.

Select the page and go to Tools>Pages>Extract to get the page. Then save as other>DOCX.

With an IMAP account, if "Store sent messages on the server" is checked does Mail only store mail on the server?

So should it not be checked if you want Mail to store sent mail on the server and the computer?

Thanks for your comments and the link to further information.
With it checked you will get both on the server and the Mac.
I have it checked, yet when I pause the curser over Sent mailbox the tooltip says "Contents stored on server. Name on server: Sent Messages". Does this mean stored only on the server or also on the server?
What does your tooltip say?
At the moment sent emails only appear in that Sent mailbox. If Mail also stores them on the Mac should they also appear in another Sent folder "On My Mac"?

I have spent the majority of today re-installing OS X and all necessary updates, music, data after the death of a hard drive. Luckily everything went perfectly, except for the same problem I had with Mail even before the 1st hard drive died. Mail will not send mail, only receive.
All efforts time out and give me this message: "The connection to the server mail.earthlink.net on port 25 timed out"
Mail used to send messages, but stopped suddenly in 2004 and has yet to start again. Any idea guys?! I can't figure it out, under Account settings I have necessary fields filled in: Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) is set to "mail.earthlink.net", Server Port is set to 25, and Authentication drop menu is set to None.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is NOT a problem with Mail or OS X. This is an incorrect settings problem - garbage in = garbage out and this information is certainly available at Earthlink's website and Earthlink also provides technical support.
Earthlink has an authenticated SMTP server they changed to long ago.
SMTP Server: smtpauth.earthlink.net
Server Port: 587 but 25 should work if you are using Earthlink as your internet service provider for connecting to the internet.
Use SSL: Off or not selected.
Authentication: MD5 Challenge-Response
User Name: Your ENTIRE Earthlink email address.
Password: The account's password - the same password used to check the incoming mail server for new messages.

Recruitment Faxing & e-mailing only possible for standard text in SAPscript

Hi,
I am using the old recruitment module PA-RC ion ECC6 and I am trying to send an email to an applicant. When I try and do this I get message "Faxing and e-mailing only possible for standard text in SAPscript". In feature WPROC I am set up to use RTF. Is there no way to send RTF emails? Do I need to create SapScripts for anything that I may possibly want to email?

my mail only opens in fullscreen when i try it make it smaller the screen diapers.
when i open mail it says its open but nothing comes up on the screen and then i have to enter fullscreen to read my emails

Press the escape (esc) key to exit full-screen mode, if you're in it.
A Mail viewer window has three panes:
A mailbox list showing all mailboxes
A message list showing the messages in the selected mailbox
A preview pane showing the contents of the selected message
The panes can be arranged in two different layouts, standard and classic. The standard layout is the default. It has the three panes arranged side by side from left to right. The classic layout has the mailbox list on the left, the message list at top right, and the preview pane at bottom right.
From the Mail menu bar, select
          Mail ▹ Preferences... ▹ Viewing
and check the box marked
           Use classic layout
Leave the preferences window open for the moment.
Select from the menu bar
           File ▹ New Viewer Window
A classic viewer window should open. The preview pane may be hidden.
At the bottom of the message list is a "grab handle" in the form of narrow strip with a gray dot in the center. The cursor will change to an upward-pointing arrow when you hover it over the grab handle. Click and drag upward until the preview pane is showing beneath the message list.
Go back to the preferences window and uncheck the box you checked (unless you prefer to keep the classic layout.) Close the preferences window.
The viewer window will be back in the standard layout, but the preview pane may be hidden again. The grab handle is now at the right edge. Drag it to the left as far as you want to expose the preview pane.
The viewer window should now be displayed whenever you launch or switch to Mail.

My issue is similar to this, but...
When I upgraded to Leopard, I could not get Mail to work. I deleted all the account info I had and reloaded it, but the two issues I ran into were:
1. Mail would only download one file, and then "hang".
2. You could not quit mail, you had to force quit
so... I tried deleting both the mail preferences in the library, as well as the users/home/library preferences. Neither solved the issue.
My issue with using time machine to back up everything was that because something there is corrupt, I did NOT want to back up a corrupt file. So what I did was I loaded Leopard to my external drive and booted from that. I then copied mail from that drive to my hard drive.
While I was booted from the external, I set up mail, and everything worked perfectly! But when I booted from the hard drive, I still had the same issue. I again tried deleting both preference files. I tried launching Mail from the external. I tried copying the preferences from the external and pasting them to the hard drive Bottom line: if I boot from the external, everything works fine. If I boot from the hard drive, Mail hangs.
So right now, my two choices are to always boot from my external (bad) to only using Thunderbird (worse). I'm quite open to suggestions. Absolute backup is to clear the hard drive and start over. I'm hoping for something easier than that first.
So there must be a preferences file I'm missing somewhere.

YEA! My jurryrig worked! To all with this problem:
You CAN have podcasts in a regular playlist IF you convert them to a standard MP3 first. So, yes, a lot of manual labor
The good news: if, like me, it is a track that you listen to frequently (in my case meditations for sleep and relaxation) then the time is worth it. I will mess with automator later to see if there is anyway to script this! Then, less work for me and more for my mac.
Here are the steps:
Select the file from your Podcast folder.
Change all data you need -- "artist," "album" etc...
Make a copy of the cover art for this file by dragging it to the desktop.
Select the Advanced -> Convert ID3 Tags menu item.
Check ID3 tag version, and select "v1.0" from the drop-down menu.
Drag the file to the desktop (this will make a copy of the MP3 on the desktop)
Delete the file from the iTunes list.
Drag the copy of the file you have on the Desktop back into iTunes.
Search for the file in the Library, and add the cover art again to the file.
Now the file is out of the Podcasts folder and works like a regular MP3 file inside iTunes. You can re-add it back to playlists!
