Mail & Picture apps

I cannot access to all my email accounts (3 in all) . The mail page is blank.. nothing at all. I went to Settings , then Mail.. it wouldn't even show my Email Accounts.... and the monitor will go blank after a few seconds, then the Apple logo appears (you normally see when restarting device) .. then the box asking for passcode appears. Picture apps is also not accessible . The usage in the Settings .. General is also not accesible.

Try a rest: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.

  • Unable to e-mail pictures with PSE 3.0.1.

I am using PSE 3.0.1.  I am unable to e-mail pictures and keep getting an error message that says that some add-in program could not be installed. What is the problem?  I have windows Vista.

Hmm, might be an issue with the MAPI. Windows has two versions the normal version and a simple version. Outlook Express requires the simple MAPI to communicate between express and any app that send email attachments.
Can you send from explorer? Find the image in explorer and right click on it then send to email. Lets us know if that works.
We maybe getting into operating system issues, which would be better suited on the microsoft forums. It is still possible someone may know of an issue with elements sending to express though.

  • Mailing pictures

I have a new ibook on which I store photos in IPhoto. I am interested in e-mailing pictures from IPhoto using my primary e-mail account, which is Hotmail, without having the pictures be enormous in size. Any suggestions how to attach them to a Hotmail e-mail account to send in an appropriately small size? Thanks.

Are you accessing your Hotmail account with the Mail.app?
If so, Tiger Mail includes an Image Size selection at the bottom right of the message window after photos are attached to a message.
    Choices are:
    Actual Size (default)
    Small
    Medium
    Large
There is usually not much if any difference between Actual Size and Large but selecting Medium or Small reduces the size of attached photos significantly.
If you are wanting to do so from iPhoto with your Hotmail account via webmail access with a browser, I don't believe this is possible since you can select a default email client only with iPhoto.

  • OSX Update Failed To Install. Now Mail and App Store won't open

I'm currently running Mountain Lion on my unibody Macbook Pro. Last night I got a notification that there was an update (10.8.3 I beleive), so I opened up the App store and proceeded with the install process. The update details mentioned that this update would require a restart of the computer--it seemed pretty typical. Unfortunatly the update did not go smoothly and the computer froze while the progress bar read "just a few more seconds." It hung there for an hour. I did a hard shut down of the computer and when I booted back into Mountain Lion I found that I could not open the Mail or App Store applications. So now I cannot restart the OSX update that failed in the first place.
It looks like I have the same problem as the people on this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4888648?tstart=0
    Help me please.

Sometimes, the version you an get from the App Store fails during the installation, making some applications unusable. Just download and reinstall OS X 10.8.3 with the Combo installer to get the Mac working > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1640

  • Problem with mailing pictures trough iphoto

    Hey everybody.

    "... iphoto event PPsrPBIP... "
    Can anyone help me please?
    Regards

Nope. Manual sorting in events is not (and has not been) a feature of iPhoto. You do manual sorting in albums (recommended) or photos vies with event titles off

  • No pictures show in either the Pictures app or filemanager after 2.0

I can see the pictures across a USB connection,   but they dont show up on the playbook.  The pictures App is blank with just the wood background,  not even the sample pictures show up.

Mine do are they in the wrong folder perhaps.

  • Pictures App won't open anymore

When i press the Pictures App it will not open. A windows appears but then quickly disappears. My photos are now in the File Manager App but if I click on a photo and try to open it it won't open. The Pictures App appears and disappears again.
If I take a photo it goes to the File Manager but again I can't open it.
This is only a recent problem. I have taken many photos and they were stored in the Pictures App with no problems. Luckily I have managed to transfer them all from the File Manager to my computer but I would like to carrying using my PlayBook as a camera and be able to show the photos to others.
Has anyone any ideas to what the problem is????

Mine copes with 9,000 200kB photos. Is your collection bigger than that? There will be a limit that will break the app.

  • Picture app wont open

its just as the title states, so i was saving a picture from the internet and when it got done i went to the picture app, and it  tries to load my pictures folder for about 5 seconds, then it cancels out to the home screen. I have already tried hard resetting 5 or 6 times so my questions are:
    A. is my only option a restore?
    B. Will the 2.0 upgrade sync back to my ipod after the restore?

First try connecting to your PC, and you may be able to delete the photos as part of the transfer (this can be done with iPhoto on the Mac). Else, you'll need to Restore. Your 2.0 upgrade will be reapplied with the restore (i.e. you won't lose it).
    Hope this helps...

  • Pictures app

Problems with pictures app. on Mac. Not possible to copy from pictures to disk. Must drag to disk. The original date and time stamps for the picture changes to the copy date and time. If I do the same from iPhoto, the original date and time stamps will be like picture taken. I can copy an paste from iPhoto.
Pictures is not an app I can use because of the date and time problem. Is there anything I do wrong?

You do mean the Photos.app application, right.
Is there anything I do wrong?
Yes. Regarding the date and time stamp you do realize there are two different types, right?  1  - The EXIF Image Capture Date that the camera adds to the file when it's taken and what Photos uses and stays always stays with the file. 2 - and the file created date, which the Finder uses and can change often when new copies of the image file is made.
So you need to determine which date is the one you need to use.
If it's the EXIF capture date there's an Applescript to change the title of the image to the date and time it was taken: Photos for Mac: Batch Change the Date and Time to a Fixed Date
Once you do that you can export the photos out of the library with the option selected to change the file name to the Title.  That way it'll be easy to determine when each photos was taken after it was exported.
There are other scripts by léonie posted in the Photos User Tips: Photos for Mac User Tips

  • Pictures App and Large Photos / Large Photo Directories

A problem I've run into from time to time... I have an SLR camera that shoots 18 megapixels. So yes I have some rather large jpg files. Anywhere between 5-9 megs a peice...
I shot my family Christmas and wanted to throw the whole directory onto my Playbook to pass around the following day. However, after transferring the folder, it did not show on the Playbook.
After running them all through a resize tool, the folder shows up...
Is there a maximum image size on the Playbook? Anyone know what the threshold is? Is there somewhere I can report this to be fixed?

The Pictures app builds a thumbnail catalog in the background. It may wait for the thumbnails to be completed before showing the album.
Files & Folders has a thumbnail- & slideshow view which uses the EXIF thumbnails that your camera already embeds in the photo, so that may be a bit quicker. Take the trial version for a spin.
Still, the file- and memory management of a tablet isn't really optimized for this kind of use. Better to split your huge folder into a few smaller ones.

  • My IPAD 2 is freezing on the principal internet explorer page.  It presents the google home page with a grey filter over it and does not respond to any touch or key.  All other internet dependent functions seem to be working (i.e. mail, various APPs etc.)

My IPAD 2 is freezing on the principal internet access page.  It comes up through a light grey filter and does not respond to any touch or keys.  All other internet dependent functions seem to be working fine (mail, various APPs).  How do I "unfreeze"?

Go to Settings-Safari and Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.
Another thing you can try is to double-click the Home button.  A row of recent Apps will line up along the bottom of the screen.  Scroll across and find the Safari icon.  Press on it for a couple of seconds until it starts to wiggle.  A red minus sign will appear on each icon.  Press on Safari's minus sign to remove it.  This may clear its memory of the bad Google page.
If this does not help, try resetting (rebooting) the iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.
