Mail Preferences -- only showing Junk settings

Hi,
I really like using "Mail".
Just one hiccup.
When I go to Preferences, I only get the window for junk mail settings.
I can't get to the signatures and other preferences.

Hello David.
You have the preferences toolbar closed on Junk Mail.
Go to Mail > Preferences and at the top right corner of the Preferences window is a clear pill shaped button.
Selecting this button opens/closes the complete Preferences toolbar.
When this button is available, it serves the same purpose for whatever window is open.

HELP mail preferences plane (shows Accounts only)

When I go to my Preferences plane in Mail it just shows the Accounts section and nothing else, so I'm not able to do signatures etc. Please does somebody know what's going on?!

My trashed emails are only showing for the month of October. My settings are to never delete trashed emails, so I should have a significant number of emails in there. I do see a few random emails before October. How do I get them all to show, I need to search them for a particular email. This is a .mac email account

If secureserver.net is IMAP then all emails will by definition come back unless you dragged emails into folders residing only "On My Mac" in Apple Mail on your previous machine. If secureserver.net is POP and your mail is not coming back, the only thing that could be from is the messages being deleted from the server, esp. if they aren't showing up in web mail. It's even possible that the thieves deleted all of your messages. Check you webmail's trash bin.
Do you have a backup? Can you contact your email provider about possible data recovery? Sorry, this sounds terrible!

Apple Mail Preferences Only Opens Rules

Can someone help me please. When I go down to preference in apple mail, the only thing that opens now is the "rule" box. I can't get the full preferences that have accounts, general fonts, etc.

Hello, and welcome to the Discussions.
You apparently have hidden the Toolbar for the Preferences window. Click on the small white, pill-shaped button at the top right of the Preferences window, and the Toolbar should return to view. Alternatively you can click on View in the Menu bar, when the Preferences window is open, and choose Show Toolbar.

My mail inbox only shows about 10 days of mail. Need to search back a few months. How do I do that?

I am wanting to search for old mail from my inbox. Right now it only shows abut 2 weeks of recent mail.When I do a "mail search", I cant find what I am looking for. How do I have my inbox mail automatically show more that 2 weeks of the latest mail. I would like it to show a month or more.

There are a couple of things that could be deleting mail messages.
In Mac's Mail app click on the Mail > Preferences menu item. Now select your offending mail account from the Accounts list. Now click on Advanced. There is a setting to "remove copy from server after retrieving message." The Mail app will delete messages from your email service based on this setting. This will not delete messages from your computer.
If you are losing messages from your computer then click on Rules in Mail's Preferences, then check each "rule" to see if there is one that could be deleting messages. Click on the rule and then on Edit to see the rules criteria
Example of a rule that would delete messages:
If neither of these is your problem I suggest you check with Yahoo to see if there is a setting on their service that could be deleting messages.

Since installing ios7 I cannot find the setting I used in ios6 that set my e-mails to only show a specified amount all the time . I really loved that ? Where can I do that or is it gone forever?????

Since installing the new ios7 on my iPhone 5 I cannot set my email to only show a certain amount of emails ? Did we loose that ability or do I not know where to find it . It use to be in settings of e-mail . I really really mis this feature ? Please let me know if we can still do that somehow?

If you can't access the App Store from the Apple menu, Dock, or Applications folder installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
It's ok to do this even you are already running v10.6.8.

FYI: Some third party software can cause issues with the App Store > Mac App Store: Sign in sheet does not appear, or does not accept typed text

IOS4 mail client only showing 2-line preview for some emails

The only account tied into my iPhone 4 right now is my Gmail account. I was able to set it up quickly and it's been mostly trouble-free.
However, I noticed that even though I have "Preview" set to "2 lines", it is not showing the preview for every email. Some emails, in the inbox view, properly show the sender, subject, and the first 2 lines of the message. Others only show the sender and subject. If I click on the ones that don't show a preview and view them individually, I am able to see the body of the message properly.
This never occurred on my 3G running iOS 3.x. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm having the same exact issue in addition to the no subject emails. If I do a hard reset of the phone it seems to resolve the issue temporarily. My email is coming from gmail via the IMAP server. Any ideas of what seems to be the root cause anyone?

Icloud email in mail.app only shows mail to alias

My .me account is [email protected]
In Mail.app on Yosemite, I only get mail under the iCloud account if it's addressed to an alias = [email protected] (notice the DOT between first and last name) Mail addressed to the real address shows up fine on my iDevices, but not at all on my Mac.
This feels like I must have done something to ask for this at some point. But I can't find a setting.
Any clues appreciated.

You may have run into the Snow Leopard Mail 'Wizard' which has never heard of iCloud and will persist in tryihng to set up a MobileMe account. I would advise removing the account from Mail and then setting it up using the method detailed here:

Why is my mail inbox only showing the first ten emails when I have it set to show the first 200?

I have my email setting set to show me 200 messages in my inbox, but can only see the first ten emails. Anyone know what might be happening?

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if they show when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Can a workflow e-mail notif. only show fields that have changed?

I'd like to send an e-mail to an end user whenever any field in a Solution has changed. The e-mail notification workflow for my Solution works and starts out like this:
(PRE('<ModifiedDate>') <> [<ModifiedDate>]) AND...
However, I run into max character limitation in the e-mail message body. (will look at ToChar next) What I tried to do was display the new and previous values for the fields. This worked till I reached the char limits. Even if I could key in all the lines of characters necessary for this, the mail recipient would have to carefully go through all the fields and compare them to see which one(s) has changed. This takes too much time for the end user to do.
Is there I way (using a single workflow) to display in an e-mail only the fields that have changed? I've looked through the posts and have not yet found an answer. Thanks.

You can resolve this by creating One workflow for each field or a small group of fields you want to track. Only thing is the user may receive more than one email reguarding the same Solution.

Error in the Mail it only shows 5 on every e-mail, How can I correct this?

Mail previewing only show subject???

Whenever I am playing with the phone and I receive an email, the alert will pop up and tell me the sender's name and the subject, but nothing about the content of the email is displaying in the preview.
I have set my mail notification as Alerts with 2 lines of preview. So shouldn't I at least expect some content of the email displaying in preview? Is this a bug or everyone else is experiencing this as well?
Also, when I have my phone in lock mode and I receive an email, I will see 2 lines of actual preview of the content of the email.
Any thoughts and comments?

I did that before posting here, in fact I tried 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 lines. But none of the email content shows up in preview when I am using the phone. But it does show when my phone is locked.
Just weird...

Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Mavericks. If you get told it's incompatible, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7; all MacBook Air models support at least 10.7.5.

Got the 1920x1200 display, but it only shows up to 1680x1050. Was I conned?

Got my new 17" Macbook Pro with the High-Res display at Apple Store in Atlanta last Thursday, and yesterday I decided to check what if feels to work at the max resolution. The display preference only shows up to 1680x1050. Ran System Profiler, it reports 1680x1050 as the display's res. Have the Geniuses done it again?
What do I do now, since I'm in Athens Greece, i.e. half way around the world, and won't be anywhere near the US for the next 8 months or so?

But, to play devils advocate: Apple could refund you $100(difference of cost) or pay 1)A couple of hundred bucks for international shipping.2)insurance(whatever negligable amount that would be. 3)I assume VAT, when re-entering Greece.4)Depreciation on the 'book you have now.(meaning they would likely resell as a certified or refurb.)Plus any other incidentals. From that perspective I would think they would simply offer you the difference. But, I hope that's not the case.

Again, I want to stress the irrelevance of Warranty issue, support, AppleCare etc. Even of the return policy. All of that is based on the assumption of having the product you wanted not working, or simply buyers remorse. Which isn't the case here. The product works fine, it's just not what you requested,ordered and paid for. I should think Apple, and the Apple store would want to get you the right book.
