Mail Problem - accounts still being deleted

Since "upgrading" to OSX Snow Leopard, my mail and iTunes applications are wiped clean! It has happened countless times now and it's becoming a big big problem. My iTunes seems to be working normally, however, my mail accounts are still being deleted and results in having to recover the MobileMe account. My third-party IMAPP account has to be set-up manually.
Whenever I boot up my mac book and start-up mail, I am greeted with a message telling me that sent items is being renamed (I think) and all of my email accounts are wiped clean. I have lost so many important emails from my POP3 account. There is nothing from a user perspective that is causing this issue.
PLEASE HELP! What is causing mail to act so stupidly and wipe my email accounts? How can I fix this once and for all. I have already ran the repair utility and also reinstalled OSX SL again. The latest update 10.6.1 has not resolved the problem.

Do this for BOTH devices:
Go to settings, internet accounts, and then log out of mail. Then log back in.
Maybe your email will sync with your devices.

Theft of phone and skype account still being used!...

Hi.
My wifes phone was stolen on th 19th of April during a camping trip.
We reported the theft to the police.
I have gone onto skype today, and the account is still being used.
My wife said the only two places skype is installed is on her stolen phone and on her laptop, which isn't on at the moment as she is at work!!
So whoever stole the phone is using the skype account right now!!!
I need to find out the IP addresses that have been logged against the user [Redacted for privacy] since the 19th of April.
I have tried to email support, but the contact form keeps giving an error, so please someone respond as soon as possible so I can relay info to the police please!!

These two commands, when entered into a chat window, may prove helpful:
/remotelogout
Sign out all other instances except the current one. This will also stop push notifications on all other instances.
/showplaces
Lists other instances where this Skype name is currently signed in.

If your wife still has access to her account, she should consider signing on to her account details and removing any saved payment methods on file.
Skype does not release IP addresses except upon request from law enforcement agencies, who can file to receive this information via official channels.

Contact the accounts team through the online contact form and let them know what's going on so they can cancel your other account. If you receive an automated reply directing you back to the community, just reply to it and you should hear from a representative within 24-48 hours. HELP! I deleted a mail.app account and it deleted my inbox!

I have several pop accounts set to delete from the server on download. I got a new mail server and made a new account corresponding to one of my old ones. I didn't want there to be a conflict with the two accounts using the same "from" address, so I deleted the old account in account preferences.
Mail then promptly deleted my important inbox for that old account, but none of the other messages from that account that had been moved to other folders.
Is there any way to get the inbox for that account? I have a back up of my disk but from a couple of months ago.

There's not one single file to recover, no... Mail's mailboxes are stored as folders full of .emlx files with cryptic names, so you're extremely unlikely to be able to get much back with a file recovery tool, and it would be a lot of work regardless.
However, if you have a backup, you should be able to retrieve that mailbox. Sounds like it's a clone, which means it looks just like your boot drive, right? On that drive, look in /Users/youruser/Library/Preferences/Mail/, where you'll find all the mailboxes. You should be able to import mail straight from any of those into a new mailbox in Mail.

Using two ipod touches on one account, playlist being deleted.

I have an iPod Touch 1stGen 8GB, and just recently, my roommate purchased a iPod touch 2ndGen 8GB. The Account is registered to me, but whenever he plugs his in to put new music on or take music off, it deletes his "On The Go" playlists. Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.
To make sure you only sync the media yoo want, configure iTunes syncing so that only checked media is synced to the idevices.

Having mail problem very slow opening, deleting, unable to move to folders

Have a 2 GHz Intel Core Duo Mac OS X Ver. 10.6.8 - Having AppleMail problems: very very very slow opening any new incoming mail, can't delete, can't assign to Spam, and can't move to any folder for storing, and can't empty trash. Seems to be corrupted and might need to reload the Mail Program (Version 4.6) and need to know if I can reload the mail program and if I did would I lose all the data stored in folders? I don't know how to reload the Mail program. Also the entire computer seems to be slow to react as well but mail is worse. I've checked and emptied caches for the browsers I use. MichelPM, I don’t know how to find out how full is my Mail app. I confess to being mostly an ignoramus about computer hardware, software, applications storage and usage. I know where to look for some stuff, but I don’t know what all the information means. I found the page under About this Mac Serial-ATA that gives the following info: Macintosh HD:

I usually have three browsers open and one to two wordprocessers (Word and TextEdit), the resident Dictionary. When needed but closed when done with the current activity are Preview, Adobe Reader. I do have a lot of documents on the desktop and filed in folders are uncountable. I could commit most of these to flashdrives if I have to, but I’m not sure how to save all the stuff I have in folders in the Mail app. I do not run any antivirus or “crapware” software that I can find in the MacHD applications folder. I’ve never downloaded such programs. I will commence to copy to external drives data I wish to preserve. Can I copy the entire mail set of archive folders to an external hard drive? I have a La Cie.

My e-mail is no longer being deleted off my mac mini when I delete from my iPad

Question:
I am working on Mac Mini with Yosemite and my iPad 4
All stuff is up to date.
All my e-mail accounts sync with each other and everything seems fine. But, when I delete my mail on my iPad it does not get deleted on my Mac Mini?
It did before, but now it no longer is updating.
Why?
I'm I missing a setting?
Advise would be very helpful.

Hi, I've a strange issue. I set up a gmail email (either via Nokia wizard or manually) and it works fine and then when I go into Messaging Gmail's account is gone and replaced with New Mailbox. It has risen from the ashes by itself before so maybe it will again but why on earth would it disappear only go the first place when it worked before. This OS is buggy as hell now matter what version. Another loyal Nokia user (15+ years) heads for Android...

@jkforde: It could be the message store resetting to the phone memory.
I had this issue once, where I set the memory card as my message store (in messaging settings). When you connect the phone to the PC in 'mass storage' mode, it disables all apps and media running on the phone from the memory card (this is what I don't like). This includes the message store on the memory card. Then, after you've disconnected the phone from the PC, the message store reverts to the phone memory (which is a pain). You have to re-configure it to use the memory card. If you created your Gmail account when your message store was set to 'phone memory' it will disappear when you change your message store to 'memory card' and vice versa. Moreover your SMS messages will also disappear. However these are not deleted and can be retrieved by changing the message store.
I know this is annoying, but now I don't use my device in 'mass storage' mode any more. Android seems very inviting, but it's getting more scarier and more like iPhone everyday. Moreover, Nokia's been making phones since before these new guys were probably born... so there must be something to it.

Problems w/ photos being deleted when downloading

Hello, can anyone tell me why my photos that have already been downloaded on my ipod are deleted when I download new photos. This happens every time I go to download new photos to the ipod. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? I download my photos manually. I can't seem to find an anwser to this anywhere. Please help. Thanks

I have heard of this happening, but I never saw a resolution. Sorry.
The only thing I may could suggest is moving the contents of your photo folder into a folder temporarily. Leave that photo folder that your iPod syncs with empty. Have your iPod sync and clear all of the photos off. Disconnect. Then move those photos back into that folder. Reconnect and have it sync. If you have already tried that, then I'm sorry I couldn't help anymore.

Approx 700 Files being deleted from file server (server 2003) without permission

We had a problem with files being deleted from our file server.
We lost approx. 700 files across approx. 40 directories from the file date codes between Nov. 30 2014 and Dec 3, 2014. All files before this date were not touch.
Our Dec. 1 backup had all of the files. Our Dec. 5 backup only have files before Sept. 1 2014 and after Dec. 3, 2014.
My question is how can this happen without going to each directory and sorted my date cade and delecting files from this date range.
Does anyone have any other ideals on how this could of happen?

Open Mail>Preferences>Accounts, the first page has this on it
If you click on the server name in the box (gmail in your case I assume) it opens and reveals this:

I can't back up my information to iCloud and sync them to my iPad. I tried to reset the account by erasing everything in the account but the problem is still there. Can someone let me know how to delete everything in my account and start a new backup.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.
First check that your device is correctly connected to the wifi/internet (settings > wifi)
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
If this doesn't help, try turning off some items for back up in a pattern to try to establish if your problem is being caused by specific data on your device.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.
