Mail Programe acn send but not recieve!!?

HI People!
After a power faliure last week our mail programme will now only send emails & not recieve. We are using Mac OSX Tiger Mail Programme. Anyone have any bright ideas.
We have not changed the configuration of the machine or installed any new programmes. The activity viewer can see our mail waiting but will freeze when trying to download the mail. Could the programe have corrupted when we were hit by the power cut??

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS conduits for the affected email accounts.
Occam's Razor nearly always applies when troubleshooting technology issues!

From mac mail, I can send but not receive mail. Also, on the same mac, I can run mail through Entourage and no issues with sending or receiving

only found this problem with mac mail , when new hard drive waqs installed!!

When I first set it up, i could receive mail but not send and now its the other way around

Everything was fine then I kept getting a message saying incorrect user name or password and could not recieve email.

Have you tried to remove and then re enter your account info? Sometimes things get messed up and the only way to fix it is to just start over.

For some reason the emails that are sent to me are not coming through. Sending works just fine but i can't recieve any.
I called my service provider to check all my settings...he said i had a couple of emails that really large and that was probably the problem....he deleted them but still nothing.
Any suggestions?

yeah, i should have mentioned that..sorry. IT's POP, but it looks like deleting the large emails by my ISP worked....except all the pending emails that he said existed have not come through.

My problem seems to be solved but I wonder if anyone knows what happened . Here is a copy of my letter to SBC Yahoo DSL .
Last December 8th I stopped recieving emails on my OSX.3 eMac(I could still send) from my DSL SBC Yahoo account , I have called SBC three times and was told it would be fixed in a few hours or that it was an Apple problem and nothing could be done . Today I tried to set up email on my new powerbook (OSX.4) and it worked . Then I tried to copy the settings from my Powerbook to he eMac and after several hours I started recieving mail . I don't know if it's something I did or something fixed from SBC but I do know one thing ,
SBC needs to have Apple support . !
On the plus side there is not a long wait to speak to someone but the people are clueless with macs so it's a big waste of time .

Hi Navymom,
If not at you you might want to completely quit mail so it is not retrieving the email from the server and deleting it.
The iphone by default is set to leave the email on the server so you can still access it from your home computer.
One more thing is that you can set your email app on the computer to leave a copy on the server.

Installed Thunderbird on second machine(Surface Pro 3 128) using exact settings, can send but not recieve

No error messages, looks as if it is receiving but nothing. Setup exactly like windows 7 machine. Auto settings do and did not work on other machine but the settings my ISP provided do. Have emulated these on the Surface Pro. No recieve

Worked fine on original firmware and 2.02
even wiped the entire phone and re-entered exchange details
All my folders are there - all contacts...
but keep getting the error, connection to the server has failed.
But like i said, can send mail, sync contacts...surf web...
its this way on 3g, edge and wifi.
and yes i know i entered the correct server address, otherwise i would not have all my folders and contacts.

Have you tried sending yourself an email to see if that one comes in? Have you logged into your email account on a computer to check your email just to make sure that everything is OK there? Have you checked the incoming server settings to make sure that your username and password are correct?

Hi there.
So I have this weird problem, I can sent faxes, no problems here, but I there is a problem with the incoming faxes.
When I recieve a fax, the regular routine happens, apparently everything is ok from the sender side but I got no faxes on the Fax folder in my home folder (and no email either, even if I checked this option).
If I refer to the fax menu item, I can see the call, the reception and all the regular process, but no activity on the "internal modem" window.
I got a quicksilver G4, with the builtin apple v.90 modem.
I never had this problem before.

I have tried everything in the above link before posting. I now have two Ipad mini's doing the exact same thing (different email's) and one Ipad with another email set up exactly the same that works fine. All email go to the same account and although the mini's say they cannot connect the emails still successfully send. They just cannot recieve email's.

I can send but not recieve BB Message from Other country!!

Last week I was in spain and I bought a Sim Card With a data plan to use my Blackberry. everything works find I come back to my country and I put my original SIM into the BB.
Now, I´m able to use all the funtionalities but when people from Spain try to send me a BB Message the message never arrive but if I write to them everything works fine and they get the message...
It is something like the routing system is bad... Maybe my device continue register in spain and when the people there try to write the message goes to a wrong place... beacuse I can wirte them normally.
I already register again my device and replace the services Book...
What do you suggest to do? Thanks!!

There is no restriction for BlackBerry Messenger from one country to another. It would be very very odd, as is in your case, that ONLY users from one country were restricted to messaging you, or vice versa.
I suggest that you ask for the issue to be ESCALATED to RIM level, BlackBerry support, they should give you an escalation number and transfer the issue to trained BlackBerry support technicians. That is what you should do.
If you don't want to do that, or won't do it based on thinking they won't be able to handle, the only two suggestions I have left is to completely delete BlackBerry Messenger (Options > Advanced > Applications) from your device, and reinstall it from www.blackberry.com/messenger
The second suggestion would be to delete ALL of your service book entries on the device (Options > Advanced > Service Books), delete each, and then resend them to to your device by following the instructions below:
1) Register HRT:     (OS5) Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Scoll to any line entry and > press the Menu key > and then click Register Now. If you have an OS 6 device, Look at Options > Device > Advanced... etc.
2) Resend Service Books:   KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
