Mail Push isnt working.

Mail doesnt alert me of new messages when i get them or even check for them until i go into Mail. I thought push was meant to send messages to your phone as soon as they were sent?? I have also enabled this on my phone so that isnt the problem. I expected to have an alert whenever my e-mai account received a message.
Any help??
Thanks,
Simon.

Turn Push off and leave all services to fetch. That seems to work.

  • Yhoo mail Push Not Working?

    He,
iPhone 3GS OS 3.1, Yhoo mail Push Not Working?
    thanks

I have also been having the Y!Mail push issue. I noticed it several weeks ago. It used to be that I would get the email push almost immediately after Y!Messenger told me that I received an email. I now will receive the email push sometimes 30 minutes later, sometimes 40 minutes, sometimes hours later. And sometimes never, because I opened up the Mail widget and it does the fetch. Here is what I have done so far (I do hard restarts each time I make a change): I deleted my Y mail account on the iPhone and added it back. No workee for me. I turned wi-fi off so that I am on 3G. Nope - no pushes. I turned on all of my secondary mail servers. Still no workee. I removed all my installed apps, thinking one of them might be causing interference, but no difference. I have performed Restores on the iPhone with no change. I contacted Y!Mail Tech Supt. We swapped emails a couple of times; still don't get the email pushes. Last email from them requested that I send some information to an AT&T employee who would be working on this issue. Well, I sent the info but haven't heard back from him. Very frustrating.
So just to see if it was my iPhone or a system problem, I sent a test email to my wife's iPhone 3Gs. I sat with the phone for over an hour and no email push. I asked my brother(iPhone 3G) if he gets his email pushes. He says he has never received an email push from Y!Mail since he got the phone last spring.
So is this an Apple issue? Or Yahoo? Or AT&T? Should I make an appt at the Apple Genius Bar and see if one of their gurus can fix it? Maybe one of the Apple iPhone techs that monitor this forum can chime in.

  • Mail push not working on iPhone 4

For some reason my mail and apps icon are not displaying the red circle badges that indicate how many unread mail/available app updates are present. I have to open up mail for it to update, after which point the red badge is displayed on the icon...Anyone else having this problem, and any possible solutions?

When email push stops working for me, I simply quit and then restart the Mail app and it starts working again. This works for both my Yahoo and Exchange accounts. Still, it seems there is obviously a problem that needs to be fixed (since most folks will purposely and/or inadvertantly leave the Mail app running all the time).
Btw, when I say "quit", I mean exit out of the Mail app (you can't quit an app that you are currently "in"), bring up the multitasking bar (double-click the Home button), enter jiggle mode (hold down any running app's icon and wait), and then press the minus sign on the running Mail app's icon.

  • Mail Push Not Working:  Keeping Work and Personal Separate but together!

My understanding (and a big reason I dropped by Blackberry) of Mobile Me was that if I READ an E-mail on iPhone and then deleted it, it would delete it from my iMac at home (or MacBook for work). This does not seem to work? I know there are some issues still with MobileMe so I am trying to be patient.
Do I not have my synche preferences set up right? I want to keep my work (MacBook) mail and contacts separate from my personal (iMac) mail and contacts while receiving both on my iPhone. I want the calenders to merge. Is this possible? How do I set up my preferences on each unit to get this work?
I would imagine there are others out there like me (anyone? anyone?) so hopefully this will be something someone can answer. Thanks!

Having the same problem with yahoo mail not pushing.
I tried endangeredpeople's solution but it didn't work for me.
Has anybody had success with this solution?

  • Delayed arrival of new emails in Mail - push not working

I work a lot with my iPhone and laptop side by side. When I receive a new iCloud email it pushes instantly to my phone. My laptop (MacBook Pro, 2013, running latest Yosemite) doesn't ever notify me at the same time.
The send/receive frequency is set to Automatic in Mail, but emails always take 2-3 minutes to come through.
Has anyone else experience this, or have experience in fixing it?
    Many thanks.

What type of email account are you using? If gmail or yahoo, there have been several posts on this (particularly with gmail) and what I remember seeing is you may need to go into your email account on your PC and change the mail settings to push to you. Do a search here on the forum and just type in gmail. You'll likely find a better answer than I just offered.

  • Lion Server and mail push notifications stop after reboot

Hi, I have a Lion Server mail server setup with push notifications to iOS devices.  Everything works fine until I reboot the server.  At that point none of the iOS devices receive push notifications until I kill their Mail app; once I relaunch it, push notifications start working again to that device until the next reboot.  Has anyone else seen this, and know how to solve it?  Thanks.

You don't believe me but I just start to close the tons of opened in background apps on my iPhone and when I close all apps the mail push start working just great! Checked it several times!

  • IPhone 3GS: Push e-mail now only works on 3GS, not WiFi

    Greetings,
Well, my iPhone 3GS (iOS 5.1.1, which it's been running for a long time) suddenly stopped receiving pushed e-mail from my Yahoo e-mail account (the only one of my accounts that offers push) over WiFi at home.  Now Push only works when I'm on 3G.  It used to work on both.  Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    DM

    Have you
    - restarted the phone?
    - made a hard reset? Simultaneously press the sleep/wake and the home buttons for 10-15 seconds until the device reboots (ignore the shutdown screen).
    - force quit the app? When in the app, press on the sleep/wake button until the shutdown screen appears, then press the home button until the app quits.

  • "Push" E-Mail still not working with iPhone!

I'm not sure what the problem is here with Yahoo and Apple but to this day I still encounter very big issues with push E-Mail regarding Yahoo and Apple...it just doesn't work! I now have a new iPhone (2G, 16GB) because I dropped my old one and the screen cracked (cement ouch). Anyways I got my new phone last week (via eBay) and once again push mail is not working. I either have to manually check or mail comes in when it feels like it...in some cases HOURS later! Or if my phone is locked/asleep the mail doesn't come into my phone until I pick up my phone and start using it. Yesterday I went to go use my phone, I slid the slider to unlock it to bring me to my home screen, the mail icon showed no mail. The next thing I know all this mail starts pouring into my phone (22 messages to be exact)! I was like geeze...this is so messed up!

Push email continues to not function properly for me as well. The only time it ever works is if I'm actively on the phone after its been sleeping for a while, or when it polls for my other email accounts (in which case I get my "push" email at the same intervals as my regular email, making push worthless).
None of the other functions of the iPhone does this. When I receive a call or SMS text message, my phone notifies me immediately. What is the purpose of having "push" email that notifies me when I received new mail if I have to still manually check my device? This has been one of the iPhone 3G's weaknesses since launch and STILL has yet to be fixed.
Running iPhone 2.2. Software 2.2.1 did not address any changes with Mail.

Nokia push mail doesn't work anymore on my N95 8GB NAM since I applied the latest firmware update.  Is this a known issue?

    Hello amishnik,
Thank you for your question regarding email on your BlackBerry PlayBook tablet.
Have you restarted the device and verified that the device is still connected to Wi-Fi? Are you able to browse the internet? If not, try this and let us know the results including any error messages.
    Cheers,

  • Yahoo push mail is not working

After 2.0 upgrade, Yahoo push mail has stopped working. In settings "Fetch New Data" is set to "Push". But I don't get any news emails from Yahoo pushed to my iPhone. I have tried delete and reconfigure Yahoo mail, and also resetting the phone but still couldn't get push email to work.
I've set a 25 message limit - I see 25 mails in my inbox but I also see 3 phantom messages the end. These 3 phantom messages show up with only the ">" sign with no sender or subject and I can't read them.
Has anyone seen anything similar and have suggestions to resolve this? Thanks!

I've had my iPhone for about a week now, one of the first to get it the Australian release. My yahoo mail was coming across fine for the first day or so but then it stopped. I removed the email account from the phone and re-added it. It hasn't even been able to grab my folders let alone my email. It just animates the little spinner and says "checking for mail..." forever.
I just saw on another web site, somebody claimed if you removed the email account, went to yahoo and changed your password to something without special character, only letters and numbers, then re-add it that it would work. This based on the some story that the iPhone has trouble sending those characters. As my email was working at one point and since my password only has letters and numbers in the first place, I doubt this is what is going on. Here is the post, her instructions are in the comments: http://blogs.computerworld.com/iphoneand_yahooyahoo

  • TS3899 Since i have updated my iphone 5s to ios 8 or higher, the push mail does not work automatically, i have to refresh manually !

Since i have updated my Iphone 5S to IOS8 or higher, the push mail does not work automatically, i have to refresh manually, I haven't this problem with earlier versions !
I use Microsoft Exchange Mail server.
Even with Iphone 5 and IOS8, the problem doesn't exist !

Why would you expect it to work in 8.3, if it didn't work in a previous version? What troubleshooting have you done? Have you tried putting the car system into Pairing mode?

  • After 5 months now push mail is not working

I have a nokia lumia 820 and everything works fine, but form last sunday push mail is not working anymore.
I tried an factory reset but nothing is working. Is there somebody who knows how to fix it ?

We are talking about an Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) account with Direct Push enabled, don’t we? Because you cannot do much right (or wrong), have you double-checked with your mail provider?
