Mail refusing to send Photo booth vids

Hello - My mail account is set up with a Mac address and a yahoo address. When I attempt to send Photo Booth videos via my Mail account a pop up screen with
"Cannot send message using the server plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com:[email protected] The server "plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com" cannot be contacted on the default ports.
Select to a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later...
It used to send these vids fairly easily (slow but it did it). Now even though all connections are solid it is still refusing to send the vids. They are brief gif files so I'm not sure of all the options.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there a quick fix? Thank you for your help.

Well I'm having the same problem after also trying to send an email with photos as attachments.
The email keeps getting put into my draft mailbox "On My Mac". I've tried removing the attachments and then deleting the email,I've tried deleting the mailbox, I've been to the server and deleting the email I found there, but as you say, everytime, it comes back from the dead. I've gone to my mail preferences and changed the port and nothing seems to work. What is strange, is that everytime I click on the OK button on the error message, it starts again and puts another copy of the message into the draft mailbox, so I end up with multiple copies of the same email, complete with attachments.
I've tried turning airport off while I do this, and then turning it back on after deleting, but it hasn't helped.
I'm baffled as to what to try next.

  • Mail refuses to send messages--please help

    Hello all,
I am running system 10.8.2 on a newish iMac.  For the second or third time in recent months, Mail can't send any mail, although it can receive mail.  The message I get when trying to send a message is:
"The STMP connection to server "mail.optonline.net" failed.
Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below [note--all optonline.net] or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent."
I had not changed anything about my accounts when this happened--no password change, no changes to my settings.  I have restarted the computer to no avail.  I know the SMTP settings are right, because I can send mail from my older MacBook Pro on the same home network.  When this has happened before, it has resolved itself in a day or two.  This time it has been four days and counting.  I tried creating a new account, and that doesn't work either.
Any thoughts?  Thanks in advance for your help!

The SMTP settings are pertinent to the individual computer that they are set on, not on the network.  So you could have the SMTP settings correct on your older MacBook Pro, but they coud still have changed and be wrong on your iMac.  I would double check them on your iMac.  In Mail "Preferences click on the drop down arrow at the right end of the line "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):".  Especially note the settings in the window  resulting from clicking on "Edit the SMTP Server List",  box shown below:

  • Mail refuses to send to specific ISP.

I have a webmail account at Canada.com, which is where I have all my e-mails sent. However, all messages sent there are automatically redirected to my current ISP's e-mail address. About two months ago, I received over 1000 auto-notification messages from my public library, addressed to my Canada.com account, which automatically sent them to my normal ISP e-mail address. Now, however, I find that Mail will no longer successfully send e-mails to any canada.com e-mail address. They go out fine, but then I get a message back saying that "The recipient's computer rejected your e-mail," and that the reason is that "Command RCPT User <[email protected]> not OK."
If I use my ISP's webmail service, I can send a message to my canada.com address, and it arrives in my Mac Mail's inbox fine. Other people can send messages to my canada.com account, and they are redirected to my ISP address with no problem. And I can send mail from my canada.com account's website to myself fine as well. So, the problem seems to be specifically within the Mail program itself. It just refuses to successfully send messages to canada.com addresses. I have trashed the preference files, deleted and re-built the account, trashed my user's mail folders, etc. All to no avail. I suspect that somehow my permission through RCPT to send to canada.com addresses has been removed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
    Mail version 1.2.5 (v553)

That was my first thought, and I've tried contacting them, but they don't seem to be responding. However, two things indicate to me that the problem does not lie within the Canada.com server. #1. Everyone else can send e-mail to my Canada.com account and it gets through to my Mac Mail program fine. #2. I can send e-mail through my web accounts to my Canada.com address, and it arrives without problem in my ISP account in the Mac Mail program. So, when I send mail to myself both from my ISP's webmail site, and logged in to my Canada.com web site, the messages both get redirected through the canada.com servers to my actual ISP address, and arrive as expected in my Mac Mail program. The problem really does just seem to be with the Mail program itself in sending to any and all canada.com addresses. My sister has a canada.com account as well, and when I use Mac Mail to send messages to her, they bounce back to me in the same fashion, saying that the "Command RCPT is not okay."

  • My iPhoto refuses to send photos to Facebook.

I'm on 9.4.2.  I can export a photo and then upload it to Facebook outside of iPhoto. The "Share" function in iPhoto will send to my email, but not to Facebook.  I cannot find any setting within iPhoto that suggest that I have associated iPhoto with the wrong email or an incorrect Facebook page.  I have restarted both iPhoto and my laptop multiple times since the problem surfaced and a I have logged out and logged in to Facebook as well.  Nothing changes.

And....I just noticed that in the pulldown menu in iPhoto only "Email" is black, not gray.

  • Mail refuses to send out my emails

    Hello,
Can someone give me a hint how to fix this response that a requester keeps giving me for several outgoing mail domains:
"The server response was: INCORRECT DOMAIN IN MAIL/RCPT COMMAND
Use the pop-up menu below to try a different outgoing mail server. All messages will use this server until you quit Mail or change your network settings."
What do I need to change to get rid of this?

If you use Mac Mail and Microsoft Outlook mail like I do, you could switch from one to the other mail program for send photos.
    iPhoto  >>  Preferences  >>  General tab  >>  E-mail foto's via  >>  select Microsoft Outlook.
Click a photo  in iPhoto  >>  Share  >>  select E-mail …   >>  Microsoft Outlook will be launch.

  • .mac email: can't send photos, my password is refused mail sent to OUTBOX.

I start in iPhoto and choose 4 photos to send, then type a short message. I click send from my mac.com email and get a request for a password. I type in my password and get "password not valid" reply. the mail goes to "OUTBOX" and sits there. I have resent these from the outbox over and over again. I get and send text messages with .Mac just fine.
I am using a MacBook Pro 15 inch dual processor.
I called the u.s.a. Apple Protection phone # on 011907 and was told by Jeremy to reset my password, that didn't help. He then offered that he could not do anything and I should search the Apple sites. I asked if he would extend the Protection Plan for the time since Nov. 17, 2006 that this is happining. He said that's not his department.
    CAN anyone help???
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   I have an Imac G4 too

    Hi msmyczek,
I have a .Mac account. When I choose to send photo's from iPhoto, they open in a draft in the Apple Mail program. Is this what you do? If your using the Mail program and .Mac, are you able to send any other mail? If not your settings are incorrect.
Open Mail. On the Toolbar choose Mail-Preferences, and click Accounts. Under Account Information:
    Account Type: .Mac
    Description: [email protected]
    Email address: [email protected]
    Full Name: Your name
    Incoming Mail Server: mail.mac.com
    User Name: msmyczek
    Password: Your Password
    Outgoing Mail Server
Click on the drop down box. Choose Add Server
In the Outgoing Mail Server, you need to put in what that is, and you should have this information from your internet provider. Mine for instance is smtp.west.cox.net. Leave Authentification blank. Leave the Password field blank. Click OK. Then close out of Accounts. It wil ask you to Save changes.

  • HT1277 How do i send a Photo Booth video in an email? It is telling me that I cannot use my gmail account to send it.

I tried to send a video i had made on Photo Booth in an email using the Mail application, but a window came up telling me that i could not use gmail to send it. How can i send it without using my gmail email address?

You're gonna have to find a different method. All ISP's limit email attachments, varies from 10MB's to 25MB's...far too small to email a 6 minute video. You can upload to YouTube, use Dropbox, copy to a thumdrive etc. But you won't be able to email.

  • Photo Booth picture is in all sent e-mails

My nephew somehow added his goofy picture in the from header on all my emails that I send. Can anyone tell me how to delet it. I have deleteed all saved pictures in Photo Booth.
    Thanks,

    Welcome to the discussions, wtragnitz.
Open Address Book and use menu Card/Go to my card. You will probably find the offending image there, and can replace it with one more to your liking.
I think you will find that the picture has not actually been sent. When you say "the from header on all my emails that I send" do you mean that when you look in your sent mailbox and select a message, the displayed mail in the viewing pane shows the picture at the right hand end of the headers? If so, it is just a local display and your message recipients don't see it.
This feature is used when you receive a mail; if the sender is in your address book, and you have added a picture, the picture is displayed when you look at the message.

  • Installing a Google Apps mail account as an Exchange cause Camera FaceTime and Photo Booth to disappear from the Deskotp and are not retrievable. A deletion of the mail account returns the functions immediately

Brand ne iPad 3. Installing a Google Apps mail account as Exchange kills my Camera, Face Time and Photo Booth. They disappear from the Desktop and are nowhere to find or retrieve. Deleting the mail accoun t brings them back immediately. I have already full reset the device and updated the software with no result.
    Is there a solution?

Yep, Meg, you were right and here are the steps which cure the issue. Disable camera is actually a basic Google Apps setting .
Log in to your Google Apps Control Panel.
    Click on your 'Settings' tab.
Under the 'Org Settings' tab locate 'Mobile Settings/Device Settings'
    Enable 'Allow camera'.
    Save changes.
    Re-Install Google Apps E-mail account
    It works perfectly fine now.
Footy, my cat, sends you nice regards as well.

  • Can anyone help new to this, e.mail slow I tried to send photo and in error attached  the application so got bounced back now can't delete it and email changed in a real mess can't seem to delete anything or receive stuff on macbook pro

Hi any help out there, I have messed up e.mail should have had some training. I tried sending photo as attachment to e.mail but attached the whole application, of course this got thrown back, tried to delete it no luck . Now at a loss what to do mail box and mac now sooooo slow and cant seem to get rid of deleted mail??? comes up with error from imap server for gmail message to large ..has anybody else had this ?

If the message is still 'stuck' in your gmail account, you should be able to log into the web service and delete it. Don't know why it won't delete on the Mail side. Quitting Mail should delete the sent msg - don't know why it doesn't.
    Give it a shot...
