Mail security Apple ID

I get a message (17 lines) of gibberish titled "IOS 7.0.6-security-Apple ID".  It appears to be sent from my address. I've called Apple on this and don't get any help but mentioning I should change my apple id p/w. I've done this but still get messages regarding the above .  Anyone experienced this or know if it's a security issue?

On your computer or safari on your iOS device navigate to:
          For Canada - https://appleid.apple.com/ca.
          For United States - https://appleid.apple.com/us/.
Click the "Manage your Apple ID" button, and sign in to your iCloud account.  Once in, on the left side select "Password and Security", and this will populate our options on the right side.  You should see an option to reset your security questions.

If for any reason you can not reset these security questions, or get an error, then you may need to contact Apple directly at 1 800 692 7753.  Explain the issue, and they can get your to a "Account Security" agent, who will be able to verify your identity, and assist in resetting the security questions.

    Unless you plan to have multiple email accounts open in different tabs at the same time, there is no need for Multifox.     Okay, so I wanted to buy something on iTunes, but then this thing came up, saying since it was my first time buying something on this device, I had to answer my security questions. The thing is, I don't remember them! I made them over 2 years ago, and never had to use them until now. So I signed in onto my account, and pressed "Forgot your answers? Send reset security info email to r•••••@yahoo.com" I'm not sure if the r*****@yahoo.com appears for everyone, or if it's "my" e-mail account, but just showing the first letter. Thing is, I don't remember making en e-amil account starting with r. My Apple ID is my e-mail account. The one I had when I got my first Apple device. I've always used it for Apple stuff, so why won't I receive an e-mail from Apple about this? I received one when I put my phone number in my payment options just yesterday, and when I changed my password as well, so I don't get why I don't get the imformation about changing my security questions. I really want new songs

    If the email's not in a spam filter, you need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.
    They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

    Apple id lost. Cannot get Access to it. Started with a mail from apple id saying that apple id and password were changed. Did not sent such a request myself. Since then no acces to apple id, not even via forgot my id site. It says that my apple id and birth date details do not match. Something is obviosly totally wrong. Got a visa card recently, is that the reason? Cannot get a new apple id with my real address as the systems says its already used. Pls help, I am vey frustated that this can happen.

  • Suddenly can not access .mac mail from Apple Mail

    Suddenly, I can not access .mac mail from Apple Mail (Version 2.1.1 (752.3)).
    For quite a few years I have been using Apple Mail to access my .mac email. As of last Friday, Mail stopped working. Nothing has changed (accept for the installation of the latest OS X security upgrade - SecUpd2006-008Univ.pkg).
    I can still access my .mac mail through the .mac web browser and I can still access it through SnapperMail on my Palm Treo 680. But, when I open Apple Mail on my MacBook, it does not do anything, just sits there. When I open the Activity Viewer window, 3 activities are going on:
    1. Opening Mailbox
    2. Synchronizing with Server (Connecting to...)
    3. Synchronizing with Server (Synchronizing with...)
    After a few minutes, the error triangle appears next to the Inbox and .Mac logos on the left hand panel.
    I have tried Apple Mail from several locations (different ISP / WiFi / LAN) over several days but get the same problem.
    Does anyone have ideas for a solution?

    Let’s first make sure that the update is installed properly, and post back with your observations when done.
    Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:

    After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, reinstall the update that appears to not have been installed properly. You may also need to reinstall the Combo Update for the type of computer and the version of Mac OS X you’re using, unless this is the version of Mac OS X that came with your computer:

    Basically, you should verify/repair the startup disk before installing the update, no applications should be running while installing it, and you may experience unexpected results if you have third-party system software modifications (not normal applications) installed.

    Hi, I've just recently set up my mail in Apple Mail (my own domain through my web host Media Temple).  I can send mail just fine, but I'm not able to receive mail and I can't figure out the problem!  Just in case any of this is wrong (which I don't think it is), here is how my account info is set up:
    Account Type: IMAP (I have to use this per my web host)
    description: (my email address)
    email address: ( my own domain email address)
    Incoming Mail server (access domain of my webhost)
    user name: (my email address)
    passowrd: (correct password)
    outgoing mail server (SMTP): (my own domain email address)
    box checked 'use only this server'
    If you know of anything I can try or fix, please let me know!

    The settings you entered, while secure, are also very vague. However, you can check and make sure Mail is using the correct settings for incoming mail. To do this:
    Go to Mail → Preferences… and Click on the Accounts tab.
    Click your account to select it (if it's not already selected)
    Click the "Advanced" tab
    Confirm the proper port and security settings for that host (i.e. the proper port number; is SSL enabled; etc.)
    If all is good there, try Connection Doctor (In Mail, go to Window → Connection Doctor). Confirm that Mail can connect to the IMAP server. If not, check for error messages (rejected password, can't connect to host, etc.). This should point you in the right direction for troubleshooting.

    The subscription will renew automatically (unless you have disabled that) and you will get an email approximately one month before renewal.

  • I use Go Daddy mail for work, and I can no longer receive mail to Apple Mail, no matter what I try. Help?

    My work uses Go Daddy for our mail server at work. Up until 2 weeks ago, it was connected to Apple Mail using IMAP just fine. Then I stopped being able to receive mail to Apple mail or my phone. Completely. I've tried deleting the account and re installing, with SSL and without, different ports, everything. It just won't sync, and I can't receive mail whatsoever. It's tedious going through the browser at work, and even more not being able to get emails to my phone. I've even tried sending mail, and it shows like it's sending, then does not send. It happened out of the blue. Can someone help?

    I tried something similar by adding a new mail account doing the apple id etc but it worked in that it would look for mail but no mail would come even though mail still goes to my phone I was loath to delete my original account just in case the new one did not work as well. So I guess I am a little stuck now.. I hope you can help me to sort it out.

  • Can no longer send mail through Apple Mail

    Starting yesterday morning, I can no longer send mail via Apple Mail. I can receive it just fine, but when I try to send, it struggles for a minute, then leaves the message in my Outbox. When I open Mail's "Connection Doctor," it says "Could not connect to this SMTP server"; it says this for all three SMTP servers I routinely use, including smtp.mac.com.
    No other computer in my house has this problem. In fact, if I switch to a different account on my Mac and use Apple Mail with these same smtp servers, it works fine.
    Needless to say, this is completely mystifying to me. Does anyone have any idea what's happening, or how to correct the problem?

    Do my eyes deceive me? Am I dreaming? Could it really be true? Looks like Apple (finally) fixed this issue! Simply update your Mac to 10.5.5. It might reboot several times. That is normal. When it finally reaches the desktop open your Mail app and try sending. It should now work for you. I couldn't be any happier, after over a year without Mail it's finally working again! This is the update that everyone's been waiting for

    From Contacts, anyway (the new version of Address Book) you can export to a .abbu file and import then into Outlook. I'm not sure about Mail as I only really use Outlook...
