Mail sender - same name I have put in AdressBook

Hi there,
First of all say 2 things: This is my first post in this forum; and my English is poor, so my apologizes.
I would like to ask a question. Can I see
When I receive a e-mail from (for example) Peter Griffin (this is the name I put in AdressBook), Mail show me "Pete", because is the name that he put hiself.
I would like to see "Peter Griffin" and not "Pete".
It is that possible?
Thanks for your attention.

Hi and Welcome to  Discussions!
This is something I'd like to have for a long time, but as far as I know Mail will always obey the name that the sender has put into his settings. It's annoying as **** sometimes, because some people like to type their name all in CAPS or only use initials.
I would really like to see a preference in Mail which allows to show the name from my local Address Book instead. But I believe this isn't possible right now...

    Thanks

    I have the same situation as you - sending out pdfs of designed pages and wanting to overwrite them continually. It used to happen on an older version of Mail, then it disappeared and now it's back with the latest version.
    It's more than annoying, it's downright driving me nuts. In the last hour I had to quit Mail seven times.
    Please send a fix for this Apple.

  • Versamail no show incoming mails sender's name and subject after ROM upgrade

    It is unlocked GSM 680 before with rom ROW 1.04 and worked quite well. After the upgrade to R01.92 1.12ROW, the incoming emails doesn't show sender's name(address) and subjects, but email content displays correctly. Don't know if the VERSAMAIL program has lost some files or modules. Anyone can help?
    Post relates to: Treo 680 (Unlocked GSM)

    I see the subject of this post specifically mentions a ROM upgrade. I didn't do a ROM upgrade but I had the same exact symptom after installing CJKOS which allows Chinese, Japanese, Korean characters be displayed on my Palm Treo. The CJKOS preferences are not in English but eventually I was able to figure out if I disable that application within that app's preferences, the sender's name and subjects are now appearing. Maybe there is something the few of you are doing that is similar?

  • Apple mail sender's name

    Hi there,
    I was wondering whether you could help me. Actually, it's not a big problem, but it really bugs me. The thing is, whenever I send an email to myself or receive an email from an Apple related email address, using Apple Mail, I see a different name (actually, not even a name - some random words) in the "To:" line instead of my name or my email address. I am quite sure it is a problem with Apple, because I am using Gmail account and there is no problem whenever I check directly from the gmail.com website. I cannot find how could I change those settings. Any ideas?

    Try this.

  • How to keep same sender file name for receiver mail attachement

    Hi,
      i am working with File to Mail scanario. There i want to pick a flat file from native file system and then send it as email attachment. Now i am able to send the file but the flat is getting converted as an xml file. is there any method to keep the same sender file name and type for receiver mail attachment. i am not using any mail package. i am using XI payload and keep attachments.
    Thanks in advance.
    -Siva

    Hi,
    Yes,With out using the mail package u can send the Mail Attachments to the receiver side,
    In that case no need of Integration Repository objects.

  • Sender mail adapter - attachment name

    Hi there
    We have configured a sender email adapter to receive text/csv attachments and save them to a file system. What we are having a problem with is reading the attachment name. So we are using Dynamis Configuration to create the file name using the subject line - Which is not ideal. Ideally we would like to use the same name as the origianl attachment but haven't found any way of doing that. We even tried using Content-type in the Variable Header (XHeaderName1) suing variable transport binding but it doesn't show up in the Dynamic Config part of the SOAP message.
    Is there any way of reading the name of the file attachment? We are on PI release 7.0.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers
    Salil

    Hi Vitor
    There are 2 scenarios that I can think of -
    1. You are saving the email attachment as a file. In that case use step 3 in the earlier reply to get the attachment name and save the file witht that name.
    2. You are sending the XML straight to a receiver using HTTP, IDOC, JDBC etc. in which case you would need the attachment name much earlier that step 3. For that I guess you would have to write another adapter module on the sender mail adapter(at Position 3 where position1 = payloadswap bean, 2 = custom module to get the attachment name) and add an xml tag to your incoming message. These adapter modules are really powerful and are like user exits in ABAP. In that case you would have to change the Data Type in the Integration repository to reflect that extra tag. Here is some code from a module we wrote to totally change the structure of the xml coming in. The key thing to remember is this module is that you can read the whole message byte by byte. There might be smarter ways of doing it (like using the SAP XML parser factory class) but since I'm not a Java programmer I stuck to the basics. Here's the code( you could also look at the example given in sap help where they remove (or add I'm not sure) CR(carriage return) from CRLF (CR Line feed).

  • Mail Inbox all Emails do not display sender's name or E-mail address

    After the last update in my Mail all the sender's names or E-mail addresses changed into No Sender. They are real E-mails not spam or junk E-mails. Once I open the E-mail I can see the Sender's name and E-mail address. It is very inconvenient not being able to see who is the sender befoer openning it. How do i fix this?
    Thank you.

    I am fighting with the same problem. In conversation mode my reply shows me as "From" on the left pane. I switched to Classic view which makes life a bit easier as I can see the "Subject" line and guess that this is an email I'm searching for. Can't find the way to put name of the Sender who started conversation in the info summary on the left.

    QA: Yes - try again with legacy-collection true and false.
    Doc: No
    Checkintests: Pass
    Details: Another try in fixing this bug. When legacy-collection is false, Actionscript Array on the client becomes Java Array on the server and my fix yesterday assumed this case. However, when legacy-collection is true, Actionscript Array becomes Java ArrayList on the server. So added code to handle this case.

    Hi all!
    Just to post the solution to this if anyone ever runs accross this thread...
    For some reason i had it bad the first time, don't have time right now to see why but here is what worked for me:
    HashMap primaryFile = new HashMap();
    primaryFile.put("fileContent", bFile);
    primaryFile.put("fileName", uploadedFile.getFilename());
    operationBinding.getParamsMap().put("primaryFile", primaryFile);

    HashMap [] properties = new HashMap[1];
    HashMap customMetadataPropertyRoom = new HashMap();
    customMetadataPropertyRoom.put("name", "xRoom");

    properties[0] = customMetadataPropertyRoom;
    customDocMetadata.put("property", properties);
    operationBinding.getParamsMap().put("CustomDocMetaData", customDocMetadata);
    Basically an unbounded wsdl type is an array of objects (HashMaps), makes sense, i thought i had it like this before, must have messed up somewhere...

  • Two mail accounts with same name and SSL not allowed?!

    Dear Common Wisdom:
    I have two accounts in my Mail program with the same web host. That means the outgoing mail server has the same name.
    If I put on SSL, though, it is not allowed to save two servers with the same name in two different accounts.
    Can I get around this and still use SSL for both accounts?
    Thanks!

    Each domain is expected to refer to its own unique database schema. Same SOA schema should not be shared by multiple SOA clusters/domains. It is technically possible though, I suppose, and still can run fine any one SOA environment at any given time with the other SOA environments/domains (sharing the same SOA schema) shutdown. It is not the general/recommended practice to share SOA schema across domains and there could be potential implications and unexpected behavior, particularly when the SOA environments pointing to the same schema are all running at a time.

  • How to add document name and document namespace to xml mail sender msg

    Hi,
    I have set up a sender mail CC that accepts messages already in XML format. However, the messages are missing the document name and document namespace. I am trying to use MessageTransformBean to add these to the message payload. However the examples I've found so far all talk about converting plain text coming in. When I used convertionTpe -> SimplePlain2XML it messed up the original content with unnecessary xml tags.
    Can someone please tell me how to insert the document name and namespace into the payload without converting the original xml content? Thanks in advance.

    Dont think there is a way.
    As the source is a XML, why dont you create the MessageType with the same name and namespace as the XML file in the email.

  • File to Mail with the same name

    Hi SAP Heros,
    Can somebody please tell me how to generate the same file name on the receiver mail adapter.
    Example
    File (file name =unknown.xml) -
    > XI -
    > Mail (file name =unknown.xml)
    I don't know the name of the sender file name , I only know the location so I have write *.xml in input file name but not sure how to  generate the same file name for mail adapter.
    My scenario is that I need to send the email with payload attachment but with with the same file name.
    Can somebody please help me in regards to this issue.
    Thanks,
    Iqbal

    Hello,
    I also had the same requirement and I too used adapter module.
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/02706f11-0d01-0010-e5ae-ac25e74c4c81?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true. THis link will help you to create the module and implement in XI.
    Implement  the code which Stefan provided in the above link.
