Mail sender (to me) name

I have a couple of friends who I think are sending me mail from different computers and devices and I get their emails under different names. For instance, one uses their Korean name on one device and English name on another. Is there a way that I can make the Mail application identify the incoming email address and assign the same name as displayed to me?
I've gone into my address book to make sure I don't have them listed under both so I'm guessing the choice is being made on their end.

If you enable the Mail > Preferences > Viewing > Use Smart Addresses preference, it will use the name from your address book.

Sender Mail Adapter - default interface name

Hi,
I need to receive through one e-mail sender channel tree different kind of messages.
In sender mail adapter I specify ecept other parameters "Default Interface Name". When I send a message with a same as defined in an interface the message is processed correctly.
But when I send a different kind of message then I get an error : "Receiver could not be determined".
Is any way around how through one sender e-mail adapter receive a different kinds of messages ?

We purchased a new iPad2 and registered it using a 'new' iCloud email/ID. We are unable to send email from the iPad and iPhone. The error is: Cannot send mail. The user name or password for iCloud is incorrect.

About ~20 hours later, this ended up solving itself. We can send email using the '.icloud' email from both the iPad and iPhone. Advise would be 'wait' before you start seeking alteranatives like yahoo, hotmail, etc. This definitely is a convenient way to keep all your 'cloud' information in a centralized place, including the common email...

Changing the default mail sender name in Application server

Hi,
how do I change default mail sender name in application server.
It is administrator@application by default.

Does the email send from the operating system (sendmail ) or from the IAS?
If its from the ias , then its in the httpd.conf.
If its from the Operating system then I dont rememeber
If you have a non windows platform (like unix) easiest way will be to do a grep for "administrator@application "

I am trying to get rid of my name that displays in all caps in my G-Mail sender name along with my e-mail address. Have deleted my full name everywhere I have found it and think it may be in my Apple and not in G-Mail. HELP!

Mail sender name repeats middle initial

A small but aggravating issue.
My name in Address Book has a middle initial: "T". When sending mail it displays the name as "<First> T T <Last>" but not for all accounts.
I can not find any "T T" names in the system except in previous emails.
Looked (almost) everywhere.
This one has got me baffled!

Looks like I've found "a" solution, hopefully "the" solution by stumbling around in the address book after checking user account, remote server and this here thread.
I have several email addresses and all of them have my name associated with them but ONE "card" associated with address in particular had a MIDDLE INITIAL entry field, where the rest did not. My hard headed /pragmatic (and i'm sure in the frenzy of setting up one or more of the POP accounts EXPEDIENT) solution was rather than figure out how to access the middle initial window by second guessing some over-clever Cupertino interface guru who made the function of this middle initial this option "so obvious" that it's eludes yours truly I cheated and put the initial in the first field... and since my name W T works like E. B. White's etc etc. this worked fine until ONE of the accounts like this started picking up the initial from the ONE in particular which HAD the initial field and utilized it as designed... Once that was deleted and harmonized with the other myriad "mickey moused" ones it cleared up the problem.
How to make the middle initial field reappear in all the other address cards save for the ONE is still beyond my understanding so let me know what I'm missing if ya'll know the easter egg to make this reappear...

Why does Apple Mail preview pane display only sender's first name?

Some, but not all, of the mail I receive shows only the sender's first name in the preview pane. I've checked the three areas others have mentioned as possible sources of the problem: 1.) Both first and last names appear for these senders in my Contacts. 2.) None of these senders appear with only first names in my Previous Recipients list. 3.) The full headers don't show first name only.
When I used Entourage, emails from the same senders never showed only first names in the preview pane.
Is this a bug in Apple Mail? Is there a workaround?

I came here looking for a similar answer. Some of my HTML messages show up just fine in Mail 3.5. Others, I get the plane text alternative or a bunch of raw HTML. With no answer in sight on the Discussion groups, I decided to look at the raw mail message of one of the offending emails.
Under the View menu I found a sub menu called Message then there are 6 choices beneath that:
*Long Headers*
*Raw Source* (which is what I was looking for)
+(and then below a separator I found a surprise!)+
*Plain Text Alternative* (grayed out)
*Previous Alternative* (grayed out)
*Next Alternative* (available)
*Best Alternative* (available)
Only the appropriate ones for the current message display format are available.
So low and behold selecting "next" or "best" changed my message into fully readable HTML format with pictures, formatting, etc.
I am assuming that something in the way that the multipart MIME message is assembled by some senders' systems does not sit well with Mail. I'm not going to bother figuring it out, but I'm sure that close examination of the raw message would give some clues.
Now if only I could figure out how to choose the message format based on the sender, I could eliminate having to change every message that comes in from that sender. Maybe AppleScript and a Mail Rule?

Setting Mail sender name manually

I am using 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1' function module to send mails. This function module takes the current user name as the mail sender name and sender mail ID.
Is there any way to set the mail sender name or sender mail id manually.

Mail Sender adapter issue in PO7.4

Hello Experts,
We are migrating from PI7.0 to PO7.4, where in we are struck up with an issue of Mail Sender Interface.
Here we have a scenario of Mail to Proxy where we are processing attachment(CSV file). But here when I we run the interface mail body is being processed not the attachment. Also could nt see the Payload as when I click on the Attachment payload a pop up is coming and closing automatically.
Can someone please suggest where it went wrong as this is working in existing PI7.0 version.

Have you tried swapping by Payload name?
Please try it out with the following configuration, and remove any extra lines - there are duplicate key names and values in your configuration.
You should be able to see the successfully swap by payload name in the audit log as shown below.

Mail Sender Adapter - Attachment Handling

I 'm using XI 3.0 SP 14.
I have problems with my Mail-Sender-Adapter.
The mails, I fetch, have an xml-attachment which
represents an IDOC-structure (ORDERS.ORDERS05).
I want to sent this attachment as payload to an SAP-System.
The problem is now, that I have 2 Payloads (SXMB_MONI).
One for the normal email-body and one for my original
xml-attachment. See below:

Or how can I resolve my problem.

use the PayloadSwapBean module to get the attachment as main payload.

MAIL Sender adapter going in to error

We have configured one mail sender adpater with a custom module to read the attachements in the email message. This was working fine before.
We recently had a restart of the PI servers. After that the channel is going in to error. The first error as per NWA logs is :

Mail sender adapter POP server not configured for URL access

Hi Experts,
I have a Mail --> PI --> R/3 scenario and I am configuring the Mail sender adapter for POP3. The issue is that the POP server is not configured to be accessed via a URL and hence the URL pop://hostname/ is causing the following error at runtime:
_1. When I use pop://Fully qualified host name/
_Error: exception caught during processing mail message; java.net.UnknownHostException
_2. When I use pop://IP address of host/
_Error: exception caught during processing mail message; java.net.SocketException: Connection timed out:could be due to invalid address
I am able to ping the POP3 server from the PI server using both the FQDN and IP address.
Can someone please help.

Connection refused occures when XI cannot connect
in most cases so try checking it again , maybe some ports are not opend on the firewall

My Requirement is V_SENDER can be any user of that SAP system,noot particularly logged in user.
I tried using this functionality my sy-subrc is zero. but i am not able to get any mails with that user name in V_SENDER.
Do i need to do any further settings or any more code is required.
Even i tired giving SUBMIT rsconn01 .
still its not working.
Please suggest any solutions if we have.
