Mail sending passwords clear text on Wifi?

Can I assume that the mail application passes passwords and user accounts in clear text. Meaning that if you're in a wifi hotspot with someone like BT Openzone that doesn't have WEP etc that your passwords are visible to someone with the right software?
Presently I avoid using my itouch for retrieving e-mails in public places just in case. Can't see anything within the manual that helps.

I had the same problem and it is a software bug.
SAP release for us a special sap note number 1278473 - "Followup E-mail doesnot contain text of Notes of Activity".
I dont know if this note was release for all customer, but you can open a message to sap asking help.
My message at sap was 946981/2008.

Why is Apple Mail sending in plain text even when rich text is set as preference?

I have Verdana selected as my Message Font and the Composing Message Format preference set as Rich Text, yet Apple Mail sends new messages in plain text (Monaco). When I type the message it shows in Verdana. When I check it in Sent Mail, it is in Monaco. When I choose Send Again, the new massage appears in Verdana again, but after sending it is in Monaco. Also, The received message in in Monaco. I've tested this with other fonts and font sizes and the same thing happens.
How do I fix this?
Note: Mail correctly replies in the same format as received messages. Only new mail has the plain text problem.

I suspect that for each one you need to go to Format > Make Plain Text

Can I send texts through wifi without using data?

I' m currently out of the US and want to know if I can send and recdive texts through wifi and not use any data. Same question for my emails.

ACS 5.3 Showing Clear Text Password in Authorization reports

When a tacacs user is changing the local password on the router (for local user), the acs 5.3 is showing the new password in clear text in authorization reports/logs.
This behaviour is seen on acs 5.x, whereas acs 4.2 is showing encrypted password in the reports.
I have checked debugs on Router and it is sending password in clear text in Tacacs Authorization packet but encrypted password in Tacacs Accounting logs.

Akhtar: Cisco needs long time to fix bugs unless it is P1 or P2 bug. Otherwise they'll do it at their leisure.
If you are not on latest patch already then upgrade. If you are already on the latest patch then wait for the next one. If your bug is not mentioned to be fixed on the resolved caveats don't panic. I've seen many bugs fixed but not mentioned in the release notes. What you need to do is to contact TAC so they contact the BU for your behalf to confirm if the bug is resolved or not.

Settings > wi-fi then tap on the little blue arrow next to the network you want to change. You have to tap on the blue arrow and not on the name.
Now at the top tap on "forget this network".
After that, the iPhone will think your home network is a new network and will ask you for the password to connect.

Need help with T-bird.. My OS is Win XP-64..Have been using Mozilla for about 10 years with little or no problems.. This happened when I upgraded to 3.17.. Spent hours on T-Bird diagnostics web site.. Called Comcast & talked to a net tech.. he ran some tests on his end & had me log into my Comcast e-mail account & all worked well,, so he concluded the problem was in T-Bird.. He had me change my port to 587 & disable connection security & authentication to none & I was able to send mail.. That was all he could do.. Comcast was working.. the problem is in T-Bird.. Can any one help with this problem.. I don't want to send mail with my password transmitted insecurely..

I considered if it might be a typo for 31.7. Since 31.5 is the current formal release, I would have to thank you for volunteering to test a pre-release beta version. If it was truly 3.1.7 then it would appear that you have chosen, or have become stuck with a somewhat ancient version. In either case it's harder to reach out to you with any meaningful comments or advice. However I do watch various other sites and newsgroups and I don't see a clamour of distressed users, so it seems fair to suppose that this feature isn't actually broken in 31.7.
And you said XP 64. XP is obsolete and no longer supported and if there is a 64-bit version, then again you have set yourself apart from the mainstream.
I had a look at the comcast site and found some puzzling recommendations. Some users come here asking how to set up a secured connection in Thunderbird when it isn't offered by the server. Comcast are different, in that they mention the ports 143 and 587, and also 993 and 465. So far so good, in that security is actually on offer, but they also suggest that you enable SSL, regardless of which port is being used. It would be unusual and unconventional to offer TLS or SSL on ports 143 and 587. STARTTLS would be more credible on these ports.
Have you tried IMAP on 993 and SMTP on 465? SMTP on 587 with SSL, or TLS, is not impossible, but is improbable.

Remove password in clear text warning.

After I bound my Lion Server to an AD account and set it up for Profile Manager (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4837) I have a warning message when i login saying that my password will be sent in clear text. I want to get rid of this message. I have SSL enabled and the login page is HTTPS. Any ideas how to fix this?

          Sorry for the confusion. The issue was not that passwords were in clear text inside the wli-ra.xml. The problem was that the password was displayed in clear text on one of the configuration windows of WLI.
          For example, the DBMS adapter (the sample adapter shipped with WLI) has a property called "Password" in the wli-ra.xml:

Forced to use Clear Text Passwords for OD binding

Running a Tiger Server 10.4.11 as OD master with one Replica. When binding clients to server in Directory Access/LDAPv3, If I "disable Clear Text Passwords," the users can not login. Uncheck this option, everything works fine. Non "Clear Text" passwords used to work, stopped about two weeks ago. If I bind to the Replica, I can disable clear text. Not sure where to look to see what broke.

I have few options for you:
Option 1:
For BO XI 3.1, the Schedule Manager is a tool to help you manage the database logon information of Crystal Report documents in a BusinessObject Enterprise system. You can use the tool to update the logon information for a particular Crystal Report document, as well as looking for other Crystal Report documents that use the same database and update them in batch.
As per my knowledge, there is no such tool exists for BI 4.0/4.1. Still I'd suggest you to test it in your TEST environment. I am sure it will work for BI 4.0 as well.

Option 2:
When doing migration, from one environment to the next, you can setup overrides, within the Promotion Management portion of CMC, that will automatically make changes to the various reports for you, without needing to utilize the external tool to do that.
