Mail sends but does not receive

Since 10.6.2 I've twice had incidents of my SBC account going gray and not receiving mail. Problem exists on iMac, MacBook, and iPhone so it is not a machine problem unless all three have had settings corrupted via mobileMe. Mail present on ISP server. Send works. First incident cleared spontaneously but current incident persists. Preferences settings appear to be correct on all three devices. Authentication is by password. Port is 995. Ideas?

These sporadic losses of connections to the server are not new with Snow Leopard. I've had them more frequently in the past and the only way I've been able to deal with them is to tell Mail to check/reconnect again.

Just upgraded to Lion - and this problem was on Snow Leopard too - I tried to upgrade to sort this out!
Mail sends emails but does not recieve.
I own the server where it is trying to connect to - the emails are there - I can see them through webmail.
I have set up different email accounts on Mail and exactly the same for all domains and email accounts.
I have re-installed Mail - exactly the same happens.
I have used Thunderbird and it works!
So it has to be a Mail problem. Server is fine, OS is fine, other email is fine. Mail is the problem.
I think it has to do with keychain? Not sure though... I have tried literally hundreds of things but nothing works and I am at my wits end and run out of ideas!
Any suggestions would be warmly received!!

I have the same problem with my incoming mail. I talked to the folks at Frontier (my ISP). They verified that a
test message I had sent was received. All account info appeared to be ok. I click on "get mail" and I do not
receive any new incoming messages. All connections succeed Using Connection Doctor, although the connection to smtp.frontiernet.net spins quite awhile before succeeding.
While I was composing this reply, I decided to try to send a test message to my wife's account. It came
through ok. I think I might have to contact Frontier again on this. When I set her account up they gave me a
different Incoming Mail Server name to use: pop3.frontier.com, whereas mine is: pop3.frontiernet.net. I believe
new accounts are being assigned to: pop3.frontier.com.
Also, when I'm showing all inboxes, Mine all have a symbol after them that looks like a lazy z. I am not familiar
with this symbol, but since I'm having trouble, I suspect it is telling me something. Help on this??

Outlook 2007 sends but does not receive on ipad

My Outlook works fine both receiving and sending emails on my Windows 8.1 laptop. However, on my pad mini outlook can send but cannot receive emails.
I would be grateful for a solution to this.

I found my problem.
“Add-ons” were the source of the problem.
I believe there was a conflict between two programs:
Norton’s Security Suite and AnVir Security Suite.
Both were trying to scan my incoming e-mail.
I uninstalled AnVir, reset Outlook back to its original configuration (i.e. reversed all the changes I described above), and my problem is gone.
Not sure why this problem took so long to appear as both programs had been install for at least a month without issues.
I used AnVir and ZoneAlarm for over a year together without issues.
However, about one month ago, I uninstalled ZoneAlarm and installed Norton’s Security Suite.
In any event, uninstalling AnVir solved the problem.
Uninstalling Norton’s and keeping AnVir would probably work as well.

AOL email connectivity issue - Sends but does not receive

I have 2 AOL email accounts on my Droid X. Up until Thursday, I had no issue receiving emails to both addresses. Suddenly on the Thursday my default account kept indicating connectivity issues with the account. The other AOL account worked perfectly.
I can still send from default AOL account and they are received, but I am not able to receive any email into this account. I tried to forwarding these email addresses to my gmail account. But gmail is not receiving emails from either account.
Any suggestions?

Now to the ones having issues, have you tried contacting AOL and make sure they are not transferring or updating a server, because usually when they do this it can effect some accounts but not other just as you have discribed. They may require a new port entered or even pop, imap or smtp access information. Drop them a call and verify incoming and outgoing addresses.

Mail sends but will not receive gmail

I just upgraded to a new iMac and transferred all my data via Time Machine. My mail app will send emails but not recieve them. yesterday after reading on here that making a new account, I could fix this, I found that I I now cannot see any of my past received emails. That's very troubling.
Anyway, any ideas on why mail would send but not receive gmail?

What do you see for that account if you invoke Mail's menu option Window > Connection Doctor?
Pay particular attention to the settings under the "Advanced" tab for that account in the Mail preference "Accounts" panel.

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information. 10.9.4 Mail activity shows incoming mail downloading but does not put in mailbox

Been testing all day with no results.
The hosting company says there is no problem at there end. All mail can be found the their webMail.
iMac Mail connection doctors show all good connections.
Mail activity shows incoming mail downloading but does not put in mailbox, they simply disappear.
Still searching for a fix for this serious issue.
Any ideas or a proven solution is most welcome.

Try rebuilding the mailbox. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

Try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

My Usenet Newsreader program (MT-Newswatcher) has a mail client capable of sending messages through my mail account, but is not capable of receiving mail as far as I can tell. However my mail account does receive mail. If there is an mail account not capable of receiving mail, I don't think Gmail is it. But that doesn't mean you have to read it or download it to your computer.
My incoming mail resides on an AOL server. My old AOL mail client only shows basic information like title, date received and who it is from. The mail is not actually downloaded to my computer until I open it.
Other mail clients such as AOL Desktop and the iPad mail App, do download the mail to your computer or iPad, whether you read it or not. So the answer to your question may depend on your mail client and how you define "does not receive"!

I think I need to re install Encore off my discs. When I ask Premier Pro CS5 to send my project to Encore, Encore opens but does not receive my movie sequence. How do I re install Encore only without upsetting my movie?

Hello. I have the Premier Pro CS5 suite on Windows. Can you advise me how to re install Encore off my discs without affecting any of my movie in Premier Pro please?
I ask Pro to send the movie sequence through Dynamic Link into Encore so that I can burn the sequence to a disc.
Encore does open but the sequence does not arrive from Pro.
Last night the sequence did arrive into Encore but took forever to transcribe and I eventually cancelled the process as it appeared to get stuck and did not quite get to writing to disc.
This morning the sequence does not even arrive into Encore.
Very frustrating when I have a 4hr movie that I want to write to Bluray so I have now created 4 separate sequences and want to try writing them onto DVD in 1hr chapters.

Hello Ann. Thank you for your help. I have re installed EN and I have now
sent parts of my movie to AME. I have then tried several different methods
of getting the encoded clips into Encore successfully. Once in the Project
panel and the Timeline, the movie does not show up in the Monitor panel
above, so I have proceeded to build and write to a disc. I've tried a
number of options but always end up with EN 'not responding' and having to
close the program down.
Something else is that I do get a message whilst in Premiere Pro that there
is an update available for AME, however, when I look online I do not see an
update for CS5, although there are 2 updates for CS6. Can you suggest what
I could do please? The Encore problem is the one that concerns me the most
as I am not able to record my movie.

New Mac Mini sends airplay audio but does not receive it

I just purchased and set up two new Mac Minis with Mountain Lion. Previous to this, using Lion and even Leopard, I could send Airplay audio to any of my desktop machines. Further, my iOS devices could send audio to my Macs running Snow Leopard and Lion. The new machines do not receive airplay audio from anything. They can send to the other devices, but not to themselves. Had I upgraded all of desktop machines to 10.8, I wouldn't be able to send audio anywhere.
Why is this?

From what I'm reading, airplay is only for streaming to your tv. I have apple tv and have never been able to stream from one device to another; only from device to tv.
Can you link to an apple document saying it's supposed to work computer to computer? Are you sure you weren't using home sharing in itunes?

Moto X not sending or receiving mms via native messenger app, occasionally sends them, but does not receive them via hangouts.

I've had my moto x for roughly 3 weeks. It worked perfectly fine until yesterday morning, when it stopped sending mms via the native messenger app. Frustrated, I restarted my phone, only to discover that now the entire native messenger app not longer functioned. I switched to hangouts which will send sms messages, but only occasionally sends mms and will not receive them. I'm not sure what is going on. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Please make sure you have installed the update to 3.0, which recently came out... MANY bug mixes.

Form sends but does not appear to send

I have a small problem with the online form I have. When the
site visitor sends the form (by clicking submit) the form is
received by the Webmaster, but it does not
appear to have been sent to the site visitor. That is, all
the details, name, email, etc remain in place in the online form
after the submit button has been clicked.
I am posting this here because I think the form processing
aspect of my query works fine, so I assumed this was a Flash
problem. I am using Flash MX 2004.

At the moment your code is only set up to display a message
and not to blank out any input fields etc.
I presume some onChanged handlers for the input fields change
the values in email_lv or perhaps some enterFrame loop etc.
You would normally do things either in the submit_btn handler
or email_lv.onLoad handler to hide or remove the input fields.
So you would need code to do that part.
If you mean something else, for example that the
if (success) { (etc)
part of your code is not executing after the form has been
successfully processed on the server (And the message "Sorry your
message was not sent" is being shown instead)
In that case, perhaps your server script is not returning the
expected value. All you need do in that case is have the asp script
return "server_mes=ok" in the body of the response. That will give
the LoadVars a return value to work with instead of nothing and
then the (success) branch of your code should execute .

Mail 4.5 does not receive 2 email addresses from friends

Why cann't I receive 2 of my friends email but I can receive on my other Mac Mail account? I have OSX 10.6.8 & Mail 4.5!

Have you tried rebuilding the mailbox?
select the mailbox you want to rebuild (your inbox or custom malbox you created)
click on mailbox in the menubar
select rebuild
If you have a lot of email in the mailbox it might take a little time to finish
I did this when I was no able to see all of my emails and it worked like a charm!
