Mail sends buut doesn't recieve

Have had an iPhone for years. Couple days ago it stopped recieving email, otherwise it sends email and syncs calendars and contacts. A couple days before that I dropped it, which cracked the case and caused some other damage, but it had continued to function fine. It was a fairly old model anyway, and was getting overwhealmed by the later software updates, (...and it was Christmas), so I purchased a new iPhone 4 today. Performed a back-up of the old phone and a restore on the new, and...now I have the same problem on the new phone! Ugh!
All settings are the same (of course) and worked a few days ago prior to the old phone ceasing to recieve email. I'm on a Microsoft Exchange server through my work. My IT guy tells me no changes have been made and confirms my iPhone settings are perfect. Several other staffers have iPhones and none of them experienced any change in service. I can log in to Entourage on my laptop at work and can get e-mail via Microsoft Web Access for Outlook perfectly, using the same protocols loaded on my new iPhone.
What could this be?

What type of account? IMAP or POP? How are this account's settings configured for IMAP or POP mail server and port number? Are you certain that the IMAP (or POP) server hostname is correct? Does the account require SSL and if so, is that checkbox checked? Or does it not require SSL but the checkbox is incorrectly checked?
Generally speaking, you would want one of the following:
              SSL      No SSL
IMAP      993      143
POP        995      110
Might your cable/DSL modem have too strict of firewall settings? I ask because my DSL modem can actually deny outbound IMAP (among others) traffic from my residential LAN, if I were to click that checkbox in the modem firewall configuration page.
If you launch Terminal.app (as an admin-privileded user) and type sudo tcpdump -i en1 port 993 (use en1 for airport, en0 for ethernet, and for 993, substitute appropriate port number from above) can you make heeads or tails out of whether the server is reponding back to your computer? Or is your traffic even leaving your computer?
While in Terminal, what happens if you type telnet mailserver.name port# (substitute your IMAP or POP mail server's host name and appropriate port number)? Does it time out or do you get a "Connected to..." message?

Postfix error in console, mail "sends" but doesn't actually send

Postfix was working fine but wasn't starting automatically on startup so in an effort to force postfix to start every time I edited the /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.postfix.master.plist and added:

Now it starts when I boot the computer but when I send email in Mail (via localhost) it looks like it sends fine in Mail but the email isn't actually sent. When I check the console I see the following:

Unfortunately my *NIX knowledge isn't what I'd like it to be so I'm not sure what to make of this. It is possible that (since I'm at work now) they are blocking the sending of email from non registered servers. Is there any way I can tell if this is happening or not?
My main issue is having postfix start automatically on boot so if there is a better way to do that in Leopard I'd be happy to just do it another way. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Sorry, didn't realize this was the server forum (came from Google) but I'm on the client. I checked the log and it says port has been blocked, so I'm assuming it is just blocking it at work.
Thank you for your help with the location of the mail log, that will be very useful for figuring this out on my own next time.

Outlook 2013 / Exchange 2013 : Shared mailboxes - Mail stuck in outbox (non-cached), Mail sends but doesn't get received (cached).

We are currently experiencing some weird behaviour in Outlook 2013 since we added Shared Mailboxes.
When we run Outlook 2013 with cached mode
enabled:
- I create a new e-mail and send it.
- The e-mail goes to the outbox, and get's 'send'.
- None of the recipients receives the e-mail.
When we run Outlook 2013 with cached mode
disabled:
- I create a new e-mail and send it.
- The e-mail goes to the outbox, but remains there.
Now to make things even more bizarre:
When I switch from 'cached'-mode to 'non cached'-mode, I see all the e-mail that were 'send' in cached-mode stuck in the outbox.
Note: The DNS server configuration in Exchange is correct.

How about sending on OWA? Does the issue exist?
To troubleshoot the issue, let's run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if 3rd-party add-ins are related:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem sending emails in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
Please also disable the firewall and anti-virus program to send the emails again, in many scenarios the protection may cause the issue.
Please also keep Exchange and Outlook patched to the latest.

IDoc outbound errors - mail send step in WF to send info-mail to enduser

I searched quite a lot in the forums now. I found lot of info but nothing regarding my issue.
I need to send an info-mail to the end user creating purchase orders. But only if the idoc (outbound ORDERS) could not be sent (failing for some reason, i.e. if rfc connection fails). This is what I've done to achieve this:
- in WE40 I linked my WF to process code EDIO
- the WF-BATCH user has an email address assigned to it (in SU01)
- the mail sending step in my WF is configured like this:
recipient type = G (organizational object)
Expression = &_WORKITEM.CREATEDBYUSER.ID& (this contains the enduser id)
subject = Test for &WORKITEM.CREATEDBYUSER.ID&
When testing the mail can not be delivered (error SO23).
When setting recipient type to U (E-Mail address) and giving a valid e-mail address, then it works fine (SCOT, etc. is configured and mailing to external systems works). But setting the e-mail address hard coded style in the mail send step is not an option here!
It seems that the send mail step (SELFITEM.SENDTASKDESCRIPTION) always requires a valid e-mail address. Is it not able to handle SAP user id's ?

I was able to solve it like this:
- don't use mail send step
- instead, add new activity with a new task (SELFITEM.SENDTASKDESCRIPTION)
- in the bindings (workflow -> step) set:
B --> &TYPEID&
&_WORKITEM.CREATEDBYUSER.ID& --> &ADDRESSSTRINGS&
Seems that the mail send step doesn't allow TYPEID to be "B" because each time I tried to tweak the generated bindings that way it messed up the recipient type and expression I set before.

Is there some way I can open the contact list, click on all of the individual addresses to which I want to send the email without the list closing between each address entry, and have all of my address entries be listed to the email at one time? Something like it works in Gmail. I do not want to use set lists, I want to enter different addresses each time I send an email. And I am a very slow typist, so I don't want to type the first few letters of each recipient's name. It is much faster for me to just click on the e-mail addresses in the list as a group. It doesn't make any sense to me to have to reopen the contact list for each address, when it should be so easy to click on all of the addresses I want at one time and then click once to add them all to the email as a group. If there is a solution to this, please tell me. Thanks.

Try this:
1. Select Mail>File>New Message.
2. Select Mail>Window>Address Panel.
3. Use (command+click) on the desired addressees in the Address Panel to create the list.
4. Click "To:" on the top left of the Address Panel.
The group that you selected will be added to the "To" field in your New Message.

Mail Sender Adapter for Exchange 2007 IMAPS account

I have the following todo:
I configured a Mail Sender Adapter that is supposed to fetch mails from an IMAP account.
The mails contain text files with data to be processed by XI 3.0 SP 22.
The mail server is Exchange 2007 and requires IMAPS. IMAP is not enough. I read the notes
- 893590 - XI 3.0 Mail sender adapter with IMAP or POP with SSL problem
- 856599 - FAQ: XI 3.0 / PI 7.0 / PI 7.1 Mail Adapter
and configured the sender apapter as follows:
URL:                     imaps://<ip address>/owa
Authentication method:     Plain
User:                    <domain>\<user>
Password:                       topsecret
Poll Interval: 5
The first challenge is to setup the adapter with SSL. To do so, I added the Exchange server's
root SSL certificate in the default truststore service-ssl via the KeyStorage service.
This is necessary, as far as I know, to successfully validate the Exchange server's trusted
certifacate which is being transfered to XI during SSL handshake.
Since the communication channel in RWB is in status error with following message:
mail client job stopped completly
exception caught during processing mail message; java.io.IOException: invalid IMAP status response; not finding * STATUS, but 001I NO owa doesn't exist.
mail client job scheduled,
I do not know how to setup SSL for IMAPS. I successfully tested a PING to the Exchange server.
Are there already experiences with Exchange 2007?
What I have to do to fetch mails from an Exchange 2007 IMAPS folder/account with a Mail Sender Adapter?

It should be imap and not imaps.
You can try imap://xxx.xxx.de:993/Inbox
Make sure that port 993 is correct. If you have doubt, then you may try 143 which is default port instead of 993 in the above url.

I assume you have tried toggling the setting in Firefox between Outlook and, say, Gmail:

In the search box, type or paste '''mailto''' and pause for the list to filter.
Change the setting and OK to save it, then return to the dialog, change back, and OK again.
You also might want to toggle the setting at the OS level between Microsoft Outlook and the native Windows Mail client in a similar fashion. In Windows XP you could use IE's Options dialog, Programs tab, for this, but I'm not sure in Windows 7.
Since one possibility is a problem in your Firefox settings (including the possibility of interfering add-ons), and another is a problem at the Windows level (e.g., Registry settings), it would be useful to try to identify which one it is. One quick way to distinguish is to create a new Firefox profile. It will start up with all factory settings. You can switch back to your existing profile after testing.

Dynamic Configuration of Mail-Sender does not work

Hi,
we use XI 3.0 SPS 19.
In my szenario I have a mail sender and I have receiver determination with conditions depending on the mail subject.
In the condition editor, I selected the context object "SHeaderSUBJECT" to build my condition.
In the mail communication channel I turned on the Checkbox "adapter specific message attributes".
But the condition doesn't work!!!
I wrote a small UDF to get the dynamic configuration of my mail sender-message - but it's NULL.
If I change my scenario from Mail-Sender to a file-sender, everything works fine (I can select the filename, etc.).
Is there a problem with dynamic configuration of a mail sender?

Winmail is for Windows only. Excel does not open emails.
Ask the sender to send the file in a more up to date format.

PO e-mail sending in 4.0B

Hi experts, help needed:
I configured the automatic e-mail sending for PO in two diferent environments: ECC and 4.0B.
The only diference between the configurations is the medim, in ECC I used the medium 5 and Comunication Strategy CS01, and in 4.0B the medium 7 (the medium 5 and CS01doesn't exist in this version).
In the ECC the automatic sending works, but in the 4.0B doesn't work, when I create the PO and enter in the "Messages" option, the system show the message:

     During the changing of the mail data, an error occured.
     o a) when changing the template MESSAGE object during the maintenance of
        the condition record with key
     o b) when changing the MESSAGE object to be sent during output
        processing
Procedure
     o a) Delete the condition record with key and create it again.
     o b) You cannot display or change the attributes for mail dispatch. The
        MESSAGE object can only be sent with unchanged attributes.
I found the SAP Note 357137 (bellow) but seems the error is not related to error. Some one can help me?

Symptom - You want to send a message to an external e-mail address. You want to format the message via a SAPscript form.
As of Release 4.5, this function is available with the 'External send' medium (5) using a communication strategy.
Prior to Release 4.5, the problem stems from the fact that the e-mail address of the partner was not yet stored in a uniform manner. An individual solution is therefore required.
Cause and prerequisites Solution -
Create a copy of the print processing program used.
In order to be able to access BOR macros later, include Include <CNTN01> in the processing program.
It is important that the e-mail address of the partner is obtained. You can define this address in an otherwise unused field of the partner master data, for example.
You can use the attached report ZMAILTEST as a reference for generating the receiver and sender objects.
It must be possible to read the e-mail address in the processing program. This procedure depends on the specific application.
Then create a RECIPIENT object with this address. This object is used as a receiver.
You can use the current user for the sender. A RECIPIENT object is also created from him or her.
Enter both these objects in the parameters MAIL_RECIPIENT and MAIL_SENDER of module OPEN_FORM.
So that OPEN_FORM sends a mail, you must also set parameter DEVICE to the value 'MAIL'.
You can enter a specific title for the mail in parameter OPTIONS-TDTITLE.
You can include this solution in medium 8 in the table of the processing programs. The form is specified and formatted as usual. The only difference is that calling module OPEN_FORM is modified.

PO mail output sender set as po release person, how to changet mail sender?

Now we setup po mail output. But we found when po released, the release person become the po mail sender. this is not we wanted. We checked with sap, they mentioned this is current sap logic. there is one function which need add some program , but sap doesn't support it.
So we hope to check if there is any user exit, We hope to select purhcase group id 's mail address as po mail sender, But which user exit could work for this po output send?

I get an error when using SMTP e-mail send

When i try to use SMTP mail send.vi i get an error code 1 saying TCP cannot exchage information with SMTP vi. It mentions possible reason for it is not using GPIB card. But there is no relation between GPIB and TCP. I am not able to figure out the problem. Can anyone help ??

Error 1 is a very generic error. It means that either an input parameter is invalid or the gpib controller be the controller in charge, but not necessarily both. In the context of this problem, it is referring to an input that doesn’t appear to be correct and as you mentioned has nothing to do with GPIB. The most common problem with the SMTP Email VIs is an incorrect name to the ‘Mail Server’ input. The Mail Server is the name or IP address of the outgoing SMTP mail server you are using. The easiest way to find this information is to check with your IT department. I hope this helps. Best of luck!

Leave mails send to specefic email adresses on the server?

I have several email adresses at my mail account, but for different users. I want Mail just to download my emails (send to my email adress) and leave the rest (send to other email adresses, but on same account) on the server.
In Windows Mail I could put up a rule for the program not to download mails send to specefic email adresses from the server, but this doesnt seem to be an option in the Mail on the Mac OS. Any solution for this?

Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access web mail, you need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
