  • Copying mail sent / received by a user

    Hi
Can I use postfix to set up mail so that mail sent and received by a particularly user is copied also to an administrator account.
I know I can use "/etc/postfix/aliases" so that everything RECEIVED for a user can be copied, but I am unsure about mails SENT by a user.

There is no way of actually tracking emails sent through Oracle if users connect to an SMTP server directly.
If you only permit users to send users through your Oracle proc/function, by using UTL_SMTP or UTL_MAIL for example, then you can use the following logic:
    * Create a new table with a foreign key (userid), that includes a count column
    * Create a procedure to send the users email, this should also insert a row into your newly created table.
    * Create a trigger to increment the count column for that user OR include the logic to increment the count in your send mail procedure.
    * Create your function with a return type NUMBER to select from the count from that table where the userid = parameter and return it.
If you need to need to report on previously sent emails, you can't do this through Oracle, you will need to get the data from your SMTP server into Oracle.

We have 3 devices used by 3 different people under the same Apple ID, how do I stop receiving my daughters texts? Both sent and received.

When you use the same Apple ID on 3 devices it means you are all using the same (email, imessaging, calendar etc).  Since iCloud (MobileMe) is designed to be shared across all devices included Macs, it means all devices setup with the same ID will have access to the information.
Text messaging is relevant only to the number you are texting.  This is done through your telecom companys lines and not on Apples.
If you do not want to have others be able to read any of your information then it is best you each have your own account.

  • E-mail messages sent, are received not in the paragraph-form as sent, but

    Dear Friends,
E-mail messages sent, are received not in the paragraph-form as sent, but are broken-up into small segments, one line finely printed, the next line may appear with just two or three words printed on it, then the next line will show a few words at the end of it, while the next line appears as the start of another paragraph, and so on and on and on. So that the original message, although sent in the one paragraph-form, winds up being received as several paragraphs, each broken up into several segments. My contacting Apple has produced no solution thus far. I am new at this computer business and would greatly appreciate any help you can give me on this score. Thanking you in advance for your interest and kind help.

  • Apple mail sent with one account but sends with a different account

I have 5 email accounts in Apple mail.  I have what I call my main one and many times when I take care to send FROM that one, it will land in the recipient's mailbox sent by a different account.  I have tested it different ways even going so far as BCC myself, checking to make sure it is sent out with correct one and it still ends up sending it with the secondary/wrong account.  Any ideas?  I cannot delete the secondary account as I sometimes need to use it for work.  thank you in advance.

I have mine set to 993... but I did not set it... all i did was set up gmail, and it worked automaticlly. That might have been the port number in Lion... i dont know.

  • I'm using Apple Mail 2.1.3 on a MacBook running OS 10.4.11. A very strange thing is happening. E-mail messages that I either sent or received months ago are showing up in my mailbox and receivers' mailboxes. Help!

I'm using Apple Mail 2.1.3 on a MacBook running OS 10.4.11. A very strange thing is happening. E-mail messages that I either sent or received months ago are showing up in my mailbox and receivers' mailboxes. In one case, a message someone had sent to me wound up in the mailbox of a third person, who was not included in the address list!!  I have only two accounts, and have checked everything; only one account is showing the repeats Now, that account is my professional account, and it resides in three places: I use it on the laptop described here, I use it through Apple Mail on the much newer desktop Mac in my office, and I can run it through Web mail on my employer's server, which is where the professional account resides (I have a mailbox there, etc.) That program is called Zimbra.
My personal account is with Earthlink and is not doing the repeats. I access it either through my MacBook's Apple Mail or the Web; the Apple Mail on my office Mac is not configured to access the Earthlink server.
What IS going on here?? My friends, colleagues, and students (I teach college) are mystified by these ancient messages.
    Thanks for any help!!

  • Some sent Mac Mail not being Received

My mac. mail account is receiving mail and indicates it is sending mail but it will not allow me to send my mail to myself (as a test) or to my friend with an active mac mail account. She is having the same problem. In an extra bizarre twist, one small forward externally received mail is able to be sent and received by us both. Neither my friend nor I are getting any error messages on our sent mail. Neither of us have any rules applying to our mail that we are aware of would impact sending and receiving mail. I have tried synching my account, etc.. and nothing seems to work. Can you please help.

Hi. I had this exact same problem, and it had the same oddities yours does. It is an Apple problem, not sure exactly what. But the only way it got solved for me was to write .Mac tech support (be sure it is not their feedback page and also make sure it is .Mac tech support and not Apple). It took them three days, but they finally got back to me and when they did, they gave me detailed instructions that weren't needed, because the problem cleared for me. But not until hearing from them. Either mine was fixed by accident because they cleared the problem for other users who complained or they checked on mine and managed to find the problem.
This cryptic message was included in my email: "Apple has implemented several measures in the .Mac Mail system to help resolve these issues. To assist in our continuing investigation, please inform us in the event that any messages sent from your .Mac account after September 7, 2006, are not received as expected."
There has been some speculation that this problem is being caused by anti-spam software Apple has installed on some servers (to see how it worked—I guess not too well!).
That's all I know about it! There are numerous other threads you can check out for more information, but for me, it was only writing .Mac tech support that made any difference (since the problem was totally on their end).
Another workaround in the meantime—you can change your SMTP server to the server provided for your ISP. I changed it in my .Mac account that wasn't working and it worked fine sending from my Comcast SMTP server.
    Hope this helps!

  • Sent or received mail appearing in Drafts

This is a weird one that started with me a while ago. I have started having emails appearing in Drafts. They are either email that I have sent or received. While it's in the Drafts folder it is also in my Inbox or Sent box.
As soon as I delete it from Drafts it disappears from my Inbox or Sent box as well so I am permanently deleting emails by doing this. Once I've deleted the email, the number 1 does not disappear to indicate that Drafts is empty as the next time I look in Drafts the next email is there.
I have tried to rebuild the mailbox but nothing happens.
Is this clear or should I try to explain in another way? I feel as if it's a bit of a muddled explanation.
What should I do? Anybody else come across this weirdness?

I finally sorted it - quite by accident. I have a Mobile Me account and an iPhone and I wanted to have all my sent messages appear in all places for convenience i.e. send an email from Mail and have it show up in my sent box on my iPhone in case I need to forward it while I'm on the road.
I clicked the 'Store sent messages on the server' option in preferences and Mail started acting strangely. Mail had created an extra Sent and Drafts mailbox under the On My Mac section of the side bar. For some reason it had split up my sent messages between the usual mailbox and the new one it had just created. I then moved all the sent messages from the new one back to the usual one. Once they'd copied (it took a few hours - there are a lot) I control clicked on the new mailbox to delete it.
Also with my Drafts mailbox, there was a weird email that shouldn't be in there but this one was in the new On My Mac mailbox. The usual Drafts mailbox up top under 'Mailboxes' was now empty. I immediately just deleted the new one that contained the weird email and expected it to appear in the other normal mailbox but it didn't. My Drafts mailbox is now free of any weirdness whatsoever.
Did that make any sense? Probably not. Anyway, that's how it happened!
    Good luck!

  • E-mail can be received but not sent

E-mail has been working fine until a couple of days ago.  Now any e-mail sent get's stuck with the clock icon next to it but doesn't send.  E-mail can still be received.  Any tips?

Hi all. My apologies for the slow response on this issue. After first writing this post and much Googling, I managed to resolve it in a fashion.
    Firstly. thanks for your replies.
Allaineem - it was affecting all contacts. I tried to send an e-mail to my work address and personal address with the same result.
Frankm5 - I didn't get as far as looking at the smtp server because after resetting the device and clearing out the text message and e-mail inbox/outbox, it started working again.
The phone itself is used for business purposes and is a shared ''on call phone'. Hundreds of texts/e-mails are sent on a weekly basis but none of the users had cleared it out. There was over 2 months worth of texts and e-mails to 100+ recipients so I think it was just hammering the memory.

Go to https://getsupport.apple.com . Click 'See all products and services', then 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID', then 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'. If you have any problems with that try this form: https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html
