Mail sent to my .mac address is being returned to sender...

This is truly a mystery to me. Mail being sent to my .mac address from others is being returned as "undeliverable." Moreover, there does not seem to be any clear pattern. I still get messages sent to my .mac account. The messages don't always have attachments. The messages being returned originated as fowarded mail, sent mail and replied to mail.

Paul,
Since I now know that you are using SpamAssassin (from the Long Headers of your reply to my test message), let me ask if you have checked its settings for any possible block of these senders that are not getting through?

Very Strange.  Mail sent to my .me address is recived.  Mail sent to my .mac address is not.  Yet in iCloud I am identifed by my .mac address.

No, can't be done. Backups will occur when you are home if you are using Time Capsule, or when you connect your Time Machine backup drive.
Portable Macs back up locally, while awaiting a connection to your backup device. Try it yourself - you can "Enter Time Machine" and browse recent backups even when you are away from your Time Capsule.
Read about that here: http://pondini.org/TM/30.html. It has limitations - a consequence of sharing your local volume with TM's "local snapshots".
This feature can be disabled in Time Machine Preferences.

  • Mail sent from my .Mac acct. to my ATT/SBC acct. never arrives - ANYWHERE

I have a .Mac mail account as well as an ATT/SBC/Yahoo account from my provider. My problem is any email sent from my .Mac account to the SBC account never gets delivered. It just vanishes into the ether: phhhht, poof. No return-as-undeliverable mailer-daemon bounce, no alarms, nothing. Nada. Ziltch. It just goes poof, never to be seen again. I have no idea where these test emails go. The only thing I do know is that they never reach their intended destination.
This makes me increasingly paranoid as I now wonder how much of the email sent from my main .Mac address vanishes! All of the tests with all accounts and their aliases work perfectly fine in both directions. It's just this one instance that seems to be mysteriously quirky: emails sent to my ATT address from my .Mac account.
Could Certificates have anything to do with this issue? I tend to doubt it.
Any ideas would be helpful here. It's drivin' me nuts, I tells ya, nuts!

  • I am having trouble sending bulk emails (less than 100 at a time) on my gmail account using group names created from my address book.  I use Mail on my I-Mac.  When I try to send out a bulk email, the message shows up that my server can't send them, etc.

I am having trouble sending bulk emails from a Mail Group (less than 100 at a time) on my gmail account.  They come back saying the server can't recognize the data and try again with selected server or try later or edit message, all of which I have attempted a number of times, including re-booting the computer.  I am wondering if there is something wrong in my Address Book?  I have check Apple Preferences, and Mail Preferences and all seems in order.  I can send to any of the individual addresses, but not in a group.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Mail sent from one email address gets responded to another

I have two google accounts connected through my mail app. All of a sudden I started getting response emails to my personal account, that I had originally sent from my work email. I don't know exactly what is going on? I don't want to mess with anything either because I'm afraid it's going to get worse.
I am 100% certain that when I send emails that the drop down menu under the subject line, which reads "from:", is selected as the work email that I wish to send the email from. This is why I'm so confused as to why I am recieving emails on my personal account.
If anyone could walk me through this I would be greatly appreciative.
    Thanks.

  • Mail sent from my iPad shows as being from 'Yahoo' rather than my name?

I have a yahoo account synced with my iPad. When i compose and send an email the receiver sees an email from 'Yahoo' and not my name? Why is this and how do i or can I change this so that it appears as from me?

I just played around with my Yahoo account. The from name that appeared in an email sent to a different account matched what was in the "Name" block in Yahoo! Account Information in Settings>Mail....>Yahoo!

  • One of my email addresses stopped being able to send mail.

It closes the message as if to send it and then re-opens the window and freezes it. Whatsup?!?
I have tried deleting the mailbox and re-creating it, but it doesn't work. I am using SSL on this mailbox. No problem receiving mail, just sending.
Note: The email address works fine on my laptop -- the settings are identical (identical). ***?

Update I finally was able to get a photo of the error I am getting. its says
    Unable to sign message
An error occurred while trying to sign this message wtha  certificate from "[email protected]" Verify this certificate for this address is correct and that its private key is in your keychain.
So how do I do that?
I never took or messed with the keychain so I am unsure how to go about figuring that out.

  • See e-mails sent from Mac on iPhone?

Hi, I have OSX 10.9.1 on my Macbook and ios 7 on my iPhone and I use iCloud. What can I do to make an e-mail sent from my Mac turn up on my iPhone when I search for it on the iPhone for instance by using the sent e-mail´s subject content?

The default setup on the phone does not synchronise the "sent" folder, so it wont appear on your webmail account.
If you enable synchronisation for that folder, it will appear on your webmail account as a new folder called "sent items", So you end up with a "sent" and a "sent items" folder on your webmail account.
You can enable folder sychronisation by the following sequence.
Messaging - select account - press menu - select "folders (5)" - press menu - select "manage folder (2)".
You will then be given the option whether to sync, or not sync a folder.
Any folder that you sync, will appear on your webmail account next time you connect.
This only works for the default IMAP setup.

  • Mail sent to an alias arrives then disappears

This is really weird. I have four aliases. Two of them have both .mac and .me extensions. I was not receiving mail at one of my aliases, so I checked them all, sending mail to each one. Mail sent to the .mac extension of one of my aliases arrives in my inbox then immediately disappears. The same alias, oddly, with a .me extension arrives with no problem. All the other aliases are fine. What gives? Thanks in advance for any advice on this.
EDIT: woops. Went to another mac and saw it was being marked as junk. Unjunked it and all is fine.

I am also having this problem. I've had my .Mac account for three years and, while I want the convenience of using Mac Mail, like you said, aliases are pointless if not indicated. I'm forced to use web-based email. I had this problem with Mail ever since I've started my .Mac account and was hoping the Leopard upgrade would solve it, too little avail.
Sorry to piggyback, but I wanted to be notified if there is a solution. If you've found anything else out, please let me know!
    Regards,
    Drew

  • Yahoo mail sent through Mail app do not appear when login into Yahoo mail

    Hi everybody,
I have a problem that annoying me very much. I've used Yahoomail for very long before I bought a MBA. For the first time I use Mac OSX, I try to use Mac mail combine with my old Yahoo mail. Actually, I have done the config. But anything I do with my Yahoo mail through Mail app can't appear when I login into original Yahoo mail. For example: I sent a Yahoo mail through Mac mail, it's shown that the mail was sent sucessfully, but when I try to login into Yahoo mail on Web, the sent mail doesn't exist. And the same happen when I do the opposite: the mail I sent on Yahoo mail doesn't exist on Mac mail. It's a big trouble if I use other lap and try to contact with someone. So is there any solution can fix it?
    Many thanks

I'm having the same problem, and the only help I ever seem to find suggested anywhere is "make sure its set up as an IMAP account"
BUT it is! Mail automaticly sets all yahoo accounts up as IMAP. So is this just a yahoo problem? Is there anyway to fix this?
For me the bigger issue isnt that I need to be able to check my e-mail through a web browser regulerly, but on my Iphone and Ipad the account, which is through the mail app, also dosnt show sent mail sent through the mac app.
I agree this makes mail on my mac totally usless.

  • Use Cisco ACS to verify MAC address for VPN User

Question: I want to have the MAC address of a machine checked when the user is logging into VPN Client.
    For example:
User opens VPN client-->Clicks connect-->types in User/Pass which gets passed to ACS (part of what should be sent is the MAC address)---> ACS responds with a yes/no on user/pass and whether the MAC address is right)

    Hi Pete,
I have found out in some of my testings that If a PC doesnot genareate any kind of traffic and is totally ideal and once the MAC-address table ages out, it doesnot show its MAC untill the PC generates some kind of traffic.I guess this is what you must be seeing.
I have oberved one more thing that If I connect a fully booted PC which not generating any traffic to a switch port it doesnot learn its Mac-address untill its generates the traffic. This is what my obeservations is and that what I believe in most of the cases.
i dont know whether that answer your question or not but it could be something closer. I think there will be some who can put some more ligth on this.

  • 802.1x phone with two MAC address

    Hello,
I have following scenario: Computers are connected behind phones, and phones are authenticating with MAB. The problem is with phones, because they have two mac addresses one is in voice vlan and another is in data vlan. Both phone and computer are authenticated successfully but when switch sees additional MAC address of phone in data vlan it shuts down port. Here is sample configuration:
    interface FastEthernet0/1
    switchport mode access
    switchport access vlan 10
    switchport voice vlan 15
    authentication host-mode multi-domain
    authentication port-control auto
    dot1x pae authenticator
    authentication violation shutdown
    mab
    spanning-tree portfast

Can you verify if the phone's mac address is being learned on the data vlan and the voice vlan? Because cisco phones use cdp to discover if a voice vlan is configured on the switchport before forwarding traffic.
Please issue a show mac address table interface x/y after bouncing the port to see what is causing the port to error disable.
Also what version of code is running on the switch and phone?
    Thanks

  • Obtaining MAC address in C program

    Hello there,
I wish to obtain the MAC address of the primary ethernet card on a Solaris OS via C. This program is invoked many times/second so calling an external program is not really suitable.
The MAC address is being obtained for the purpose of providing a low-level software lock/key system (low level meaning I am aware it's relatively trivial to circumvent).
    Paul.

    Hello again.
I found out that the SIOCGARP ioctl will get the ARP entry of a certain IP address in the ethernet. Root access is not required.
The following program will print the ethernet MAC addresses of all IP networks (including dial-up and 127.0.0.1).
For Dial-up and 127.0.0.1 "No ethernet address" will be reported. If you have multiple network cards it may be a problem to find out the MAC address of the main board.
On my Blade-1000 the following output is produced:
    lo0: 127.0.0.1 - No ethernet address.
    eri0: 192.168.178.18 - 08:00:20:FB:2F:78Here is the program:
