Mail Server for ABAP Trial Version
Hi,
Is it possible to configure external smtp service as a mail server for the sneak preview trial edition.
For ex: gmail allows to use it smtp service for free (smtp.gmail.com and Port: 465 or 587).
How can I use this service as a mail server for the sneak preview.
Thanks,
sam
Hello Sam,
Yes it is. Check the documentation at

Configuring SLD for ABAP trial version.
Hi,
I have installled ABAP trial version and 2004s Java trial version.I am facing error in configuring SLD for 2004s ABAP trial version . I am getting this below error.
com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to message server host failed Connect_PM TYPE=B MSHOST=aarya-3 GROUP=SPACE R3NAME=NSP MSSERV=sapmsNSP PCS=1 ERROR Group SPACE not found TIME Mon Apr 21 15:33:19 2008 RELEASE 700 COMPONENT LG VERSION 5 RC -6 MODULE lgxx.c LINE 4288 DETAIL LgIGroupX COUNTER 4
Has anybody configured the SLD for local ABAP server? please let me know where I am doing the mistake..I have read many threads regarding JCO error but my problem is not resolved yetHello Sam,

SLD error with ABAP Trial Version 7.0
Hi,
I have installed JAVA trail version and ABAP trial version 7.0 on a single system.I am able to connect to my ABAP (NSP) version with system alias. But when I am configuring SLD ,I am getting RFC_EROR_COMMUNICATION error.
I access my local java server through this URL http://localhost:50200/irj/portal ,
I have created the technical landscape having following values.
SID :NSP
Installation Number : INITIAL
DATABASE host name : localhost
Message server port(sapmsNSP) : 3600
Host Name: localhost
Instance Number : 00
Client Number : 000
In the installed products I choose SAP ECC 5.0 for ABAP trial version.
In the services files I have entry sapmsNSP 3600/tcp
I created the JCo destinations using above landscape and when I tested them I am getting RFC_EROR_COMMUNICATION ,not able to connect to message server host.
When I checked there is no default profile in RZ10 in ABAP trial version. Should I create that? Can anybody give some inputs? How can I check the message server port? please helpHi,
Please run tcode "sldcheck". It would point out the required RFC's to be created and working for the SLD to work.
Also, for the RFC's the corresponding JCo destinations need to be "running" on the Visual Admin side. Check SLDAPICUST tcode and rz70 too.
For rz70 to work, the RFC's need to be running fine. Take care of the Program ID and gateway settings for the RFCs.

Installing SAP NW 7.01 ABAP Trial Version for dummies
Hello sappers...
Sorry if you thought this was a guide for dummies, though it could turn out to be if I get some help - I'm the dummy!
Not wanting to be left out, I too have had a host of issues trying to install this, over several days now... it feels like bashing your head against a brickwall. After staying up till 4am last night, then wiping my laptop and reinstalling Windows AGAIN to start from scratch this morning, and encountering the cranio-mural interface again, I feel like a crash test dummy!
I am installing on a new installation of Windows Vista Home Basic, I have a gig of RAM and plenty of hard drive space.
Forgive me if this is an ignorant question, but do I need to install the Loopback adaptor if I'm connected to the internet? If it's to generate an IP address, surely my computer has one. Note networking is not my strong point (though I'm an ok programmer - one project manager even gave me 4 out of 10!) - please be kind! Anyway, I have tried with and without this on my various attempts.
ANYWAY.... the sorry saga goes like this...
I seem to be able to install Max DB OR SAP NW 7.01 ABAP Trial Version u2013> NSP, but not both at the same time - I may have done once, and it seemed to work once, I even managed to sign on - then it wouldnt work in the morning - but then that was on Windows XP Pro on my wife's laptop which only has 500 meg of RAM.
My last attempt was fairly typical - Max DB is showing up in the program menu, but SAP NW 7.01 ABAP Trial Version u2013> NSP is not.
However, I seem to have managed to start the NSP server ok, using SAP Management console, thanks to a handy tip on this forum about using your Windows OS password when it prompts for credentials.
When I try to sign on I get 'partner 127.0.0.1:sapdp00 not reached WSAECONNREFUSED: Connection refused - error number 10061, return code -10, system call connect.
That's one of my better attempts.
Last night having deleted all the installed files from my C drive, uninstalled everything, tinkered with the registry to remove all relevant entries, I managed to run an installation that skipped out installing MaxDB (it was super quick!), yet did install the SAP NW 7.01 ABAP Trial Version u2013> NSP bits in my program menu - imagine my excitement at being able to start and stop the server, yet with no database it produced red windows on my screen saying 'sorry, you screwed up AGAIN' (or words to that effect). Trying to sign on produced equally disheartening error messages...
Am going to give it another try after taking a break, next time WITH loop back adaptor installed...
Please pardon lack of relevant detail, I didnt note everything I did on every attempt - substituting humour for detail is all that's saving my sanity at this stage...
Anyone that can help me achieve this will be my friend for ever... I'm a contractor bitten by the recession trying to learn some news skills.... the first one being how to install Netweaver at home...!

ABAP Trial version u2013 starting the application server
Hi,
I have a problem starting the application server via the management console. After choosing action ->start I have to enter user and password. Do I have to create a new user password combination, use the OS password or try bcuser and minisap? None of these three options worked out. I always get the message 'Start failed: 2 Invalid Credentials'. Or went there something wrong during the installation?
Thanks for your help.
BirgitHey Birgit,
In my case I installed ABAP Trial version (also known as MiniSap) on my local machine (Windows).
When I turn on the machine, my Windows(OS) requires a User/Password (It was configured this way but it is possible you configure to not require a User/Password, it uses a default).
When I instaled the ABAP Trial version, I logged on with a User/Password with administrator rights (it is necessary for installation).
When, in the "Management Console", I start the ABAP (the "NSP" node), it asks me the user and password and I use the OS User/Password that I used to install ABAP Trial (above).
If you are doing the same I don't know why the message "Start failed: 2 Invalid Credentials".
Merry Christmas,

thanks in advanceif he will connect inside the same local area network http://your-local-ip-address:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-client=000
if he will access thru internet he needs to type your wan ip address ([http://www.whatismyip.com/|http://www.whatismyip.com/]) but before that you have to adjust your router port forwarding settings, redirect port 8000 to your local ip. You may check your router's configuration documents for more detail information. -

How to install IGS for the ABAP trial version SP11
Hi,
Please can anyone provide me with the steps to install IGS for the ABAP trial version SP11.
Which version of IGS to download?
What are extracting the SAR files what steps should be followed?
Please advice,
Thanks,
samHi Rich and Sam,
here is some kind of how to guide which hopefully contains all steps you need do perform.
Best regards
Matthias
The IGS consists of a directory structure under DIR_INSTANCE/igs (containing folders and configuration files) and executables and libraires under DIR_EXECUTABLE. These excutables and libraries are available on the Service Marketplace in archive igsexe.sar. This file has to be extracted to DIR_EXECUTABLE.
On the Service Marketplace you also find the file igshelper.sar which contains the above mentioned folder structure that must be extracted to DIR_INSTANCE. Normally this comes with a Web AS installation.
Afterwards please go to DIR_INSTANCE/igs/conf and rename the files gfwchart.tpl, xmlchart.tpl and bwgis.tpl to gfwchart, xmlchart and bwgis, see notes 531668, 596825 and 1011372.
To include the IGS to the start of the system you have to add the following to the start profile:
Start internet graphics server
IG = $(DIREXECUTABLE)\igswd$(FT_EXE)
Start_Program_03 = local $(_IG) -mode=profile pf=$(_PF)
Normally parameter _PF is defined as absolute path to the instance profile. If not use the absolute path instead.
To enable HTTP administration you have to add the instance profile parameter:
igs/listener/http= 4$(SAPSYSTEM)80,administration
HTTP administration access was disabled by default with patch 4, see note 959358.
If your system is a Java only system you must deactivate the RFC listener with the instance profile entry:
igs/listener/rfc=disable
For using the IGS with Web Dynpro Java you must define the IgsUrl according to note 704604. After a system restart the IGS should be up and running.
You can test if the IGS is up and running with the link http://localhost:4$(SAPSYSTEM)80 or in an ABAP system via report GRAPHICS_IGS_ADMIN. -

Probleme to run server after SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version install
Hi all,
I have a probleme to start WAS and MAxDB after SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version.
I installed the all and then connect to SAP System without restarting Windows. There was no probleme there all was perfect and I can connect to SAP.
Next, I restart Windows, open SAPManagementConsole, the use the "Start" function on "NSP" icon and system telle me that I haven't the right credentials ... unbelivaible because it told me to use my OS user account and password I used the same user/password than the previous one, when it worked.
So I tried everything that come to my mind but I didn't found the solution.
I also tried to use sapstartsrv.exe under C:\SAP\NSP\SYS\exe\run folder the only thing is that the Windows service "SAPNSP_00" command line was changed but I don't thing that it is with the good parameters.
So, I really don't know how to start this system and I would be pleased if you can help me !
Tanks a lot
Regards
morganHello,
Normally there should be a possibility to start this via
Start -> All programs -> SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version -> Start application server
or via C:\MiniSAP\NSP\SYS\exe\run\startSystem.cmd
