APPLECARE expired.....how can i troubleshoot yahoo mail server not found

on Friday, my iPnone 4S will no longer allow me to access my yahoo account. I reset the password. and reset it in the settings and srill can not access. My AppleCare has expired. The phone itself was replaced just a few months ago due to battery life failure. now, i hace a new device and no way to troubleshoo and rcorrect issue> I am looking for: A) How tp get help from Apple without paying, since the devise itself is new; B) Find out what to do from this communities experience without causing further damage to the account or the phone itself. I should note that yaboo mail CAN still be accessed through the PC, so i assume it is an issue with the settings for the yahoo account or the actual;server access through this partucular iPhone. You could also delete the Yahoo email account from your phone then add the account back in. That will redo all the settings for the account. Sometimes that is easier than going through all the settings.

I need a permanent fix for the 'mail server not found' bug (iPad 2 3G)

This problem started happening on my iPad 2 (3G AT&T) about 2 months ago. I found the fix posted numerous times on this forum> delete your mail applications & reinstall them which I did (deleted & reinstalled both my gmail & yahoo accts). Same problem reappeared about 2 wks later so I repeated the fix. It happened a 3rd time this wk so I repeated this fix a THIRD time before I left town a few days ago. Here I am 3 days later & it's back AGAIN. FYI...ALL the apps are up to date on my iMac & iPad 2. Can anyone tell me when the fix for this bug is going to be released & what the work-around is?

You have to purchase a data plan to use 3G data but you don't have to purchase a data plan for the iPad to work. You will have full function of the device without a data plan, as long as you have wifi available.
I also have an iPad2 3G. I only sign up for 3G service when I need it, i.e. travelling for an extended period. The rest of the time, I just use wifi at home or whereever I can.

When I start Firefox, I get an error message instead of my home page: Server not found Firefox ca

The error message is: Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at co108w.col108.mail.live.com.
If I then hit "Home" it goes to the home page. Changing the home page hasn't helped. Resetting Firefox hasn't helped. This just started today. Restarting the computer didn't help.
I'm using Firefox 18.0.2 and Windows 7.

Firefox periodically shows "server not found" message for Verizon/Yahoo email. Often self corrects in 5 to 10 minutes ?

System is Windows VISTA. While on Verizon/Yahoo mail Firefox will lose the connection and shoe a "server not found" message. Explorer will connect with no problem to the email server. The problem self corrects with in 5 or 10 minutes but this may happen 5 or 6 time in a day.
Is this a Firefox problem with proxy access. Settings appear to be the same.

i forgot to mention , that when i striped this machine back down to 10.3.7 and before i re built i did do a hardware check with the original install Disks [3] and every thing came back clean.
the weird ness with the colors on window, if i pass a app like text edit over the area , the color will not cover the app but stay in the background.
when i first saw this color thing i had the preference pane out and was moving it around on screen and the colors were bleeding off of the preference pane onto the screen.

How do I fix a very slow Firefox browser often resulting in "Server Not Found"?

The browser is super slow, saying 'problem loading page' and ends up showing the 'Server not found' message. Eventually I'm able to access a website after highlighting the website address and hitting enter, maybe several times. My computer is new and have made minimal changes until this problem is resolved. Problem affects e-mail, too.

I think this is not a Firefox's bug/error.
This is I think generated from the back-end SQL syntax of the site, which means the site created this error message, not Firefox.
You may contact the site-owner and tell them about this error message, so they may know & fix this error.

Active rfc server not found

Hi All.
I am trying to distribute a workbooks by email using bi 7.0.But when I do it , it is giving me an error "An active rfc server not found'.We have a precalculation server setup and it is active.Please let me know how can I resolve it.

In RSPRECADMIN does the precalc server show green?
If you press the 'info' button for the server there (in the popup) it should show you the log giving you more info about the error.
You can do a test for precalc in RSPRECADMIN, does that work?
There are a few OSS notes on this talking about
- setting the authorization for the precalc service on windows
- mentioning ip address of the BI server in the hosts file in the PC running precalc
I assume your error is in precalc not in sending the mail.

Can't Set Up Mobile Email: "Server Not Found"

Greetings,
I'm trying to set up a mobile email account on with a flip top Verizon phone for a customer. When I enter in our IMAP server details, I repeatedly get the message, "Server Not Found Check Your Details" or something like that.
This mail server is entirely legitimate and all of our DNS information is correct.
Can someone from Verizon please chime in on this and offer some advice?

If you've followed the details above then you've taken the steps the phone needs for service to run properly. Can you see if other data services work ok on the phone? Can you send/receive picture messages? Can you browse the mobile web? If these aren't working then it's the data connection itself causing the trouble. If they work then I encourage you to check with your email provider and have them confirm the settings being used on Mobile Email. Some email providers change their server details for mobile devices.

Hotmail doesn't open and says 'server not found' but all other websites work fine...

My macbook won't open hotmail. It works on all other websites apart from hotmail. I have tried using safari to open it but it still didn't work. It comes up with the message 'Server not Found'. I have tried another computer in the house and it worked absolutely fine. I have cleared cookies and cache on the macbook which has not changed anything. Please help as this is rather an annoying situation to be in. Thankyou

Are you using a bookmark or do you enter the website via the main entry (i.e. a link on the MSN page)?
In the case of a bookmark, you may need to delete this bookmark and create a new bookmark.
Is this also happening with the Windows Live (Outlook) login page:

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

"server not found on port 110" ????

i'll be typing emails and suddenly the mail icon will start bouncing and the pop up window says 'server not found on port 110'. what does this mean?
(((i have taken my laptop into a MAC store for diagnostic test, and all is fine. i got a new cable, that didn't help either. i called my internet provider and all is fine there.)))

Not sure what would cause that but two options would be:
First try restarting the computer. Sometimes things just need to be refreshed.
Second:
Safari's internet connection benefits from adding DNS server codes to your Network settings. To do so, go to the Apple Menu>System Preferences. Open the Network panel. Select your connection, then select "advanced". Select the DNS panel. Enter the following codes: 208.67.222.220 and 208.67.220.222. Select "OK", then "apply".
Restart Safari.

I have an E61 with a SIM card which has a GPRS connection. I am able to surf the net but everytime i try to download my mail i get the following message: Internet Server not Found. Could anyone pls advise on how i can resolve this? many thanks

Howdy! Do you try to access your email using the web-browser or are you using some kind of email solution / phone's own email application? If you are using the phone's own email application: Check the server settings under: Menu/Messag./ -> Options/Settings -> Email -> Connection Settings -> Incoming Email See that the settings are right and you try to use the appropriate accesspoint. -S-

FireFox isn't working right on my Mac. Sometimes it won't load at all( says server not found) and sometimes pics and video won't load. If I switch to IE or safari it works fine.

I just got a Mac ( I have always had a pc) and I loaded the most update version of Firefox on it. Many times during the day I will go to a website and it will get a "Server not found" message. I can't refresh the page and fix it, but if I go to IE or Safari the webpage shows up fine. It's not just the webpage cause it is never the same one and it can happen to any site. Also when using Firefox there are many times when I go to a page and not all the pics load or if there is a video on the page the video doesn't load. Again if I then go to IE or safari everything is there and works fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled FireFox and nothing changed. I cleared my cache, cookie, history and still nothing. I love firefox so this is really frustrating. Any help please.

In Firefox, I keep getting "Server not found" error - CONSTANTLY!

Two days ago I started getting the "server not found" error, off and on, daily. It is happening on both my desktop iMac 10.7, and my Windows 7 laptop. I keep having to hit the "Try Again" butting, and sometimes, several times, before a web site will finally launch. The only two extensions I have on both, are the Adblock Plus and the Last Tab Close Button, both of which, have been installed on said computers for months and months and months.
I went in and changed a setting to the "auto detect proxy setting", hoping that would work, and it did not.
I have Firefox version 21 on both computers, and it seems the problem started shortly after this latest Firefox update, and at the SAME TIME on both computers.
I do not have virus protection on my iMac, nor on my Windows 7 laptop, at the moment, but I have run online software to check for anything, and no issues, so I believe, it is not that which is the issue.
The firewalls on both computers are working fine and no issues there either, I have not changed any firewall settings, on either computer. It couldn't be the firewall, in my opinion, because this annoying error message started happening on BOTH of my computers, at the same time; I work on my iMac in the morning, then switch to my laptop in the afternoon, and same issue continues on both, and started at the same time, on both.
Is there something broken in Firefox from this last update of the browser?
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why both computers are having this issue, at the same time?
I have not tried using I.E. yet on my laptop, I rarely have ever needed to use that browser, and I hate it, so I don't use it.
Any help or suggestions, would be appreciated.

I followed those steps, but clearly some steps are missing. How do you "enable each extension one at a time"? The only choices I see in Safe Mode are "disable" and "remove."
And why is it that every other update to Firefox breaks Firefox? I've had to install add-ons just to be able to use it in Windows 8 with a touchpad.
Now that I think of it, it doesn't even matter any more. After years of Firefox loyalty (even after Firefox users have dropped to 28%), I'm off to download Google Chrome (up to 52%). I'll miss Firefox, but not the on-again, off-again performance.
