You need to access the folder at least ever 30 minutes, e.g., using Folder.getMessageCount().

TS3899 iPhone 5s Mail app shut down automatically when try to send email

I just set up new iPhone 5s two days ago from iPhone 5.
Everything works fine except Mail app.
Due to Mail app, I had to set up new configuation instead of back up from old iPhone 5.
Mail app works fine 1 day, but after the day after, the mail app shut down automatically when try to send email.
Just one specific email account has problem. It worked fine on iPhone 5. Same setting on Pop and SMTP. Exactly same~~
- I did try to reset iPhone 5s pressing home button and sleep button for 10 second. It did not work
- I did try to reset all information and install iPhone 5s and the problem still exists.
- I did try to delete specific email account and re-make it, but it did not work
Funny thing is that if Lanuague is English, then sending email is working. Absolutely no problem.
However, if Language setting is Korean, then Mail App shut down automatically.
I'm heavy email maker and if it is very annoying.
Does anyone have same issue like this?
I believed it is iOS7 bug?

Am having similar problems with a new iPad Air. It will recieve email in Mail as directd from my domain email account. It will not send, advising server does not recognise account. I have checked and re checked settings.
My computer and old iPad work perfectly. Any ideas would be really appreciated.
By the way sending email directly from the domain email account works perfectly but I prefer using Mail.

Apple Mail cancels shut down?

This is getting old, my Apple Mail, cancels shut down everytime I close down my laptop, I am running Mavericks and
don't see any fixes on the horizon for the good folks at Apple, any suggestions on how to fix this flaw?

Use the Window menu in Mail to open the Connection Doctor window and the Activity Window to get full visibility to what Mail is doing.
I often find the problem is a simple operation that is being handled very, very slowly by my ISP Mail Server -- the problem is not on my Mac. For me, the solution has been to click on the stop sign in the Activity window so that Mail abandons its latest attempts to talk to a reluctant Mail server, and then it will shut down instantly.
Your anger at Apple over this issue may be misplaced.

Activation server shut down for Creative Suite 2, Acrobat 7, and Macromedia products

Effective December 13, Adobe disabled the activation server for CS2 products and Acrobat 7 because of a technical glitch. These products were released over 7 years ago and do not run on many modern operating systems. But to ensure that any customers activating those old versions can continue to use their software, we issued a serial number directly to those customers. EN version is not so eaqual in all with CZ version, I have PREMIUM one, not Standard.
So I download these EN versions and Acrobat 7Pro separately.
It look that it works, I have it installed on my presentation laptop. I ussualy work on PC and laptop is for bussines trips mostly.
When I was working on my PC I found in menu one interesting option. I have installed CS2 in 2010 so it works OK, still in CZ. What I found in menu is called "Licence Transfer".
I didnt try it because I dont want to loose my activation on PC, but could you please say to me what does this option means?
Is it possible to copy licence on flash disk and use it on laptop, but it still be in PC also? Or it is only for deactivation, so you will loose it, and after this you can do new activation (which is impossible by server shut down)?
And one question to the end, if I buy some later version like CS4 or CS5 (from some graphic studio which have one licence to sell-transfer) so do Adobe plan to shut down server too, for CS4, CS5 or after this non user/customer friendly solution (I mean for CS2) will Adobe do some application which we can install on our local PC and this app will say to CSxx "Your licence is OK, just continue in work" ?? --- this would be much better, I think if Adobe do this so it will be the same like no-activation versions in EN only but without so many complains and impacts on your customers.

Operating system : Windows XP home edition / SP3 Computer : Pentium 4 / 1,8GHz - 512 MB
Other software : Adobe Premiere 6.5 / Photoshop Elements 5.0 / QuickTime 7, etc.
My harddrive crashed and I lost all my software. I had to reinstall. Everything is okay now but when I activate Encore DVD 2.0, I get the message "Activation server shut down for ........." I searched for the free download (without activating) of the CS 2 Premium, but I cold not find it. I only found the normal CS 2.
Who can help me.

App server shut down

Hi
does anybody knows why when i start app server 9 from console by typing .
./adadmin start-domain domain1
it runs fine, but if i close console app server shut down??
i'm using solaris 10 on ultra20, but same problem on sunfire v100
is there any way to make sun app server permanent?

Urgent - Handle error when mail server is down

Hi,
Can anyone assist on how we can handle the case when the mail server is down? For instance is it going to be implemented like
exception when +???+
Or is there any other way to handle this in order not to get frm-error in oracle forms?

I think OP's problem doesn't related with FORMS. He should CATCH that error code and return normal readable error to user
Moreover, I advice to OP to read briefly documentation related with [UTL_SMTP |http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b14258/u_smtp.htm#CHDCFFDI] package
And also to take a look at default [Exceptions |http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b14258/u_smtp.htm#i1006659] which can be raised when using UTL_SMTP package

See case #188305. There is not a whole lot of information there and we really don't like to reproduce this.
If it happens again we will add more info to the case. In the log file we have seen 'class not found' for
weblogic.utils.... classes before it shuts down. Boot it again under no load and it comes up fine.

Essbase Server Shutting down suddenly

HI,
Our Essbase Server shutting down suddenly once or twice in a month. Previously we have the same problem, Hyperion recommended for Server upgrade from 9.2 to 9.3 version. But the problem still exits. What could be the reason? If you have any idea why the essbase server shutting down suddenly? What are all the possible reasons and what needs to be done to solve this problem.

Oracle DB to load data.

Previously we submitted the same issue to Hyperion team.. they suggested for server upgrade... after upgradation also same problem occuring.....
Nothing is happening when server is down.. we r unable to do anything like data load, calc scriprts running.....
Server is in volatile state like.. up for 2 min and down and starting up.... because of this application access is too slow... users are feeling like server is completely down......
If we r trying to access through excel... it is hanging... after 10 min application info coming.... we checked the server statistics.... they r changing after long time.... ( we r checking the server status through top command in UNIX... here status is not changing as frequency as when the server is working fine)....

HT4864 The Outgoing Mail Server drop down box in mail setup keeps reverting back to 'None' - anyone have any ideas why?

I've been having difficulties with mail on my Mac and have checked all the settings. I have three mail accounts, 2 iClouds (different acct names) and 1 bigpond account.
Whenever I change the outgoing mail server drop down boxes for the iCloud accts and save my changes, I go out of it then when I go back to the iCloud accts the drop down boxes for both iCloud accounts have reverted back to 'None'.
Is this of any relevance? Is it 'normal'?
I've tried deleting all mail accounts and adding them all again but the same thing still happens.
I have been on Apple Support and followed the Mail Acct setup tutorial.
I'd appreciate any help on this matter thanks.

Because I'd been having problems which had recently been resolved by AppleCare Support I decided to go through all my accounts and check their individual settings. I found a Tutorial on Apple support for setting up or verifying email account settings and found mine were different so I changed it.
In any event I took your advice and just went with the option of automatically setting the iCloud accounts up and I haven't had anymore problems thus far - fingers crossed.
I do however note that my drop down box in account settings still says 'none' for the outgoing mail server and the 'use this server only' check box isn't ticked despite being ticked in the 'verify account' info on the tutorial, so hence my question to the community - did this matter and what was the difference?
I will let sleeping dogs lie I think and will see how I go.

Mail overloading server shutting down my websites with 500 error

Im using Host Gator and they only allow 25 processes running at once or it shuts down all of my sites (with the plan I have). Over the past 1.5 years this has been a royal pain. The culpret is Apple mail. It for some reason wont allow me to limit access to how many times it looks for the mail. If it does I cannot find the setting. Basically what Ive been told is to limit access to once every 30 minutes and that will fix it. Ive also unclicked the "idle command"
I also have an iphone and iPad which is contributing to the access rate being too often.
Im told this is unique to Apple mail. Cant imagine others are not having similar issues.
Anyone have a clue or a way around this?

Its set for every 30 minutes but it keeps overloading the server with too many processes still. Any other ideas? Supposedly the processes deactivate after a few minutes so something else is happening that causes it to overload more often than not as Im getting customer complaints.

Mail, outgoing server shut down, incoming mail is working

I can't send mail. When sending, I get a message that outgoing server is shut down. I have no problem receiving mail.
I installed Mountain Lion a few days ago (on my MBP), dont know if there is a connection?. I have the same problem
on my iMac. I have not installed Mountain Lion on the iMac. I called the provider (telia). The say they don't have any problem.
I connected to web mail and sent mail from there. It worked.
I would be grateful for suggestions how to find the problem.

How is your Mail preferences set up for outgoing? Port 25? No authentication? SSL checkbox not checked? And I assume you mean that you can send email when you are at home when your computer is affiliated to your wireless router, not that you specified 192.168.1.1 or whatever as your smtp server in Mail's setup. If your outgoing mail server is through an email account provided by your ISP, they frequently do not require authentication because they can authenticate on the fact that your IP address belongs to their pool of IP addresses -- when you are at home. But when you aren't home, then you are trying to relay mail from a "foreign" IP address through their server -- and if the mail isn't going to one of their accounts, they block those, otherwise every spammer in the universe would be relaying spam through their servers. I would try changing your outgoing mail config to port 587 with username/password authentication and SSL checkbox checked. I would try similar changes on the incoming side, SSL checked and port 993 if imap or 995 if pop -- if you leave it 143 or 110 without SSL then your incoming mail traffic, including you sending your password, is done "in the clear." The SSL settings should work whether you are at home or on the road. If they don't work, contact your email provider and ask them how to set up a common configuration that works from home and anywhere else.

Send email/notification when server shutting down?

Is it possible to send out a notification via e-mail (or maybe even text) to all the users listed in the user accounts when the server is shutting down? We have been experiencing some severe weather here and I need to shut the server down on occasion when the power starts to gray out/black out. I would like to automatically initiate an emails alert to the users when OS X Server gets a shutdown commend. Can this be done?

Consider acquiring and configuring a less-interruptible power supply, and configure that to communicate with OS X Server via USB; options that will work include the APC SmartUPS supplies I've tried. (OS X Server doesn't generally "appreciate" having the power yanked, and if the grid is already greying out, it's a little late; I don't know that I'd trust the shutdown to complete.)
If you're shutting down the system via ssh session or equivalent (and not the GUI), you could write a shell script that does what you need prior to issuing the shutdown command.
If you're shutting down via UPS, there's a script that can be used but it's kinda far along and unlikely that mail or SMS will be read before the server is offline.

Mail keeps shutting down while it is connecting

When I open my mail it automatically shuts down within about 2 seconds while it is connectinb and returns me to the home page. My emails seem to be coming through but I just cant get into the mail page to look at them?

FWIW, I had similar trouble. I could apparently delete 3 or 4 emails using the "Edit" function, then mail would crash and emails would re-appear next time mail was opened. Mail would also crash on its own after 15-20 seconds even without trying to read or delete anything. Tried downloading an app, tried hard reset, tried restore and "new phone" restore. No dice.
In another thread here I found a suggestion to delete the email ACCOUNT from the phone and then re-create. User reported deleting all messages from server as well, but I didn't do that, and still had instant success. Apparently it's not necessarily the messages themselves that get corrupted. Try simply deleting the account and re-creating.
