Mail Service - configuration.

Hi everyone,
this is my first post
on this forum so greetings to all.
<br
/>Question:
How to run Mail
Services on Primavera?
My
Primavera 6.1 is working on Windows 2003 SB Server. On
this machine I've install smtp service and configure an
account form primavera to use as e-mail from witch
notifications will be send. In Primavera administration
I've set the Mail Service with proper settings. I've turn
on notifications.

  • ERROR: Cannot start mail services, configuration directory does not exist

I'm running an Xserve G5 with one internal boot drive and one RAID using the other two internal drives. I used Apple's Disk Utility to set-up the RAID.
Back in early December, I moved my mail database and mail store to the RAID. Ever since, when I restart the server, the mailaccess.log generates the following error:
Jan 23 18:51:33 mail master[47]: ERROR: Cannot start mail services, configuration directory does not exist: /Volumes/RAID/mail.data/db
I'm speculating this is a timing error that gets created when Postfix initially can't find the RAID. Then, it must try again and find it because the error message does not repeat and mail starts running.
Is this something to worry about?

    Hi Joel,
You're right, it's a timing issues. The mail system is ready for work before the file system is mounted. It's benign.

  • Second mail service configuration or others transport protocols to send form content

    Hi
we actually use the mail service for several forms. We have now a new requirement, where we need to use a different target for one specific reporting form.
    Questions are:
Is it possible to configure a second mail service (other mailhost)?
Is it possible to integrate others transport protocols to send the content (SOAP/REST Webservice calls, JMS Queue Producer, externe HTTP/POST calls)?
    Do you have another suggestion?
    Thank you
    Best regards
    Stéphane

    Hi Stéphane,
      *  AFAIK not possible with OOB to configure 2 mail servers & need to implement at project level. You might need to create a custom email service. Example  http://helpx.adobe.com/adobe-cq/using/creating-custom-cq-email-services.html
      *  One of the option to make external calls is to utilize WorkflowExternalProcess http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/javadoc/com/day/cq/workflow/exec/WorkflowExternalPro cess.html
    Thanks,
    Sham

  • Mail server log says: master[50]: ERROR: Cannot start mail services...

Recently, after a year or more of relatively smooth service, my OS X Server 10.4.11 Mail services has been locking up daily.
I was finally able to get some information from the log files (I am a noob to this) and saw the following right after my most recent reboot of the server:
Oct 5 09:51:11 mm1 master[50]: ERROR: Cannot start mail services, configuration directory does not exist: /Volumes/Data/mail/var/imap
I checked the server and that directory is indeed there on the partition named "DATA", so I am baffled as why the server does not thing the configuration directory exists?

Thanks Alex for the feedback. You are helpful as always!
It's good to know that the message I am getting from the mail server about the configuration files is only a temporary thing. Although I find it strange that the mail service doesn't know where its config files are since it is specified in the mail server setup.
I looked at the log files you mentioned and do not see anything that looks like a specific problem with the mail services themselves.
Recently, however, I have been having recurring problems where my mail server and my Web/Database server have both become unresponsive at nearly the same time even though they are on different class A networks to where I cannot access them via ARD, Server Admin and even SSH. That is usually when my mail server goes offline. I was afraid it was because of that configuration error I was seeing, but think now that the problem could be something else entirely (maybe some kind of network problem or denial of service hacking attack, no idea).
    Thanks again.

  • How to configure Mail Services in B1

    Hi All,
I want to cinfigure the mail services in SAP B1 currently I am using SAP 2007 SP00 PL 12 My client wants that the daily reports and the Sales order should be mailed by B1 to cuntomer mail id. PLease tell the process to how to configure mail services in B1.
    Thanks & Regards
    pankaj Sharma.

    Hi Pankaj Sharma,
The suggestion above would be a good solution to you.  However, if you do not want to use this add-on, you may just configure SBO-Mailer to perform the task. You may check all available setting for the mailer and read through Administrator Guide for how to set it up.

  • How to configure mail service in DRM 11.1.2.3.500

How to configure mail service in DRM 11.1.2.3.500.
There is a feature in Workflow Models to Notify users by sending mail.
Can anyone help me find from where to configure mail service.

    Hi,
If you open up the Configuration Console on the DRM Server you should be able to navigate to the second tab called "Host Machines".
From there, select SMTP Server - and enter the details for your SMTP server. You've now configured DRM to send emails... now you just need to add it into your workflows...

    Dear Venktesh,
In SMICM --> Go to service, I found two entries:
No.  Protocol               Service Name Port                     Host Name                    Time Out           active        Ext. Bind
    1.     HTTP                   8000                                            Development                60                    X                X
    2.     SMTP                  2500                                            Development                180                  X
When I try to send a mail I found following error:...
Definately cannot transfer message to node SMTP due to connection error
    Message no. XS816
    Diagnosis
Due to a technical fault, the system could not set up a connection to the RFC destination Check port and mail server for SMTP nodes. Therefore, the message could not be transferred to node SMTP.
    System Response
The system was unable to transfer the message.
Additional information of the node used (in the system language of the node):
    Procedure
Check the connection from R/3 to node SMTP. Perhaps the node is not assigned to the correct RFC destination. If so, correct this in Customizing.
Otherwise use RFC destination management to check the RFC connection to destination Check port and mail server for SMTP nodes.
If R/3 is in productive operation, it is advisable to reroute provisionally to another node.
You should therefore notify your system administrator.
    Please suggest.

  • SAP J2EE engine for configuring Java mail Service.

    Hi
I am experiencing following exception when trying to use JAVA mail API.
    javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid Addresses;
    nested exception is:
    javax.mail.SendFailedException: 554 <email@ddress>: Recipient address rejected:
    Relay access denied
    email address above is valid..
I have to use SAP J2EE engine for configuring Java mail Service.
But is does not hav any such access permissions to check....!!

    Relay access denied
To send mails from SAP system through the mail server which you have configured, SAP server should be permitted to relay through the mailserver. Then only you will be able to send mail to external email address. Otherwise, you will get the above message.
You must contact the mail server administrator and ask him to add the ip of SAP server into the allowed relay list.
If you are using MS exchange server as your mail server and if you have administrative access to the Exchange box, you can do it yourself by following the below steps:
1.Verify that your Exchange computer is not an open mail relay. To do this, follow these steps:
    a.      Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
    b.      In Exchange System Manager, expand the following object:
    Servers\Your_Exchange_Server_Name\Protocols\SMTP
    c.      Right-click the virtual SMTP server where you want to prevent mail relay, and then click Properties.
    d.      Click the Access tab, and then click Relay.
    e.      By default, open relay is blocked. The default settings are as follows:
u2022     The Only the list below check box is selected.
u2022     The Allow all computers which successfully authenticate to relay, regardless of the list above check box is selected.
    f.      If you must permit a single computer, a group of computers, or a domain to relay through the server, click Add. In the Computer dialog box, click the appropriate selection for the computers you want to relay through the server. Then, type the required information.
Note Enabling access by IP address or by domain name is helpful for users who do not authenticate with the Exchange computer.
    g.      In the Relay Restrictions dialog box, click OK.
    h.      Click Apply, and then click OK in the Default SMTP Virtual Server Properties dialog box.
    hope this helps you out...
    Cheers,
    Jazz

  • Problem in configuring mail services

    Hello all,
I am configuring my system for automated mail sending.
WebDynpro provides functionality to incorporate such services.
I have followed WebDynpro guidelines for creating a mail service, but while entering WSDL description as
    http://webservices.matlus.com/scripts/emailwebservice.dll/wsdl/IemailService
it gives error saying , please enter proper WSDL.
I also tried to download the same WSDL on local machine and pass it as a parameter. But while compiling some classpath error appears.
    Please guide me on that.

    Hi,
As you can see the wdsl file in the browser when you type the URL, I don't think it is a problem with the URL.
To check if it is the problem with the NetWeaver Studio you can check it with a web service in the local machine or the server. I think there are some examples webservices like car rental services that come with the installation.
From what I learnt from one of my senior is that it might be a problem due to the proxy connection that you use to connect to the internet. Please verify if the proxy allows you to use the web service.

  • Why cant i disable mail service ?

Mail service got enabled when I enabled some other services (don't know which one) i checked a couple and it got enabled, i tried to disable it then but it wouldn't let me, back then i didn't pay much attention to it so of course it's not configured. Right now the server is going crazy with disk IO, ran iotop and found out there are 2 processes to blame, 1 is mds (i'll murder spotlight soon) and the other is qmgr which from the man page i found it's mail related, my mail is hosted on gmail so i have no intention of using this service. If i click stop nothing happends, same if i uncheck it under services.
this is the ouput on the syslog when i try to stop
servermgrd[69]: -[AccountsRequestHandler(AccountsOpenDirectoryHelpers) syncClientServicesConfigRecord]: Error writing ClientServices config record: Error Domain=com.apple.OpenDirectory Code=4001 UserInfo=0x10652ad30 "Unable to set value or values for dsAttrTypeStandard:XMLPlist in the record ClientServices."

also, my syslog is full of
postfix/qmgr[3830]: warning: connect #1 to subsystem private/rewrite: Connection refused
I'm guessing it's required by some other service, i currently have...
    DNS
    Mail -> DIE
    NFS
    Open Directory
    Software Update
    Web
    Xgrid - Stopped ( just testing )
Is there any way to kill it, or is my only way around it to figure out what's wrong with it (no one is using it for mail so i don't get why is it so busy).

Unchecked 'Enable SMTP', 'Enable IMAP' and 'Enable POP', then checked 'Deliver to /var/mail
That seemed to 'disable the mail service'
As for disk usage, i'm running a cron job every minute so que queue had close to 6k mails it couldn't deliver. deleted them all " sudo postsuper -d ALL " and redirected output on the cron job to /dev/null

Anyone has any clue about this error?

    Hi.
    This I have seen before...
It can be that the SMTP relay server is configured to only allow certain IP ranges or addresses.
It can be that the firewall on the SP server does not allow for SMTP traffic (normally 25, for example for Exchange).
It can be that there is an Antivirus on the SP server(Client AV) that prohobits the Timer service to send email from this server. I have seen MacAfee do this. Needed an policy change.
If, its the builtin SMTP service you are using, check this link:
    http://blog.sharepointrx.com/2010/11/18/setting-up-the-iis-smtp-server-for-sending-email-from-sharepoint-2010-on-server-2008-r2/
    Check that and try again.

  • PSE 7.0 Crashes w/Adobe E-Mail Service

PSE 7.0 crashes with the following response when I try to send an image using Photomail or as an attachment.
It appears to work fine (or at least gets to the point where I can edit the message) when using Outlook or Outlook Express.  However, we use Thunderbird, so would prefer to use the Adobe E-Mail service.  We upgraded from PSE 4, which worked on the Adobe E-Mail Service with no issues.
"Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 (Organizer) has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
It gets to the point where the email shows up on the right-hand sidebar, then the mouse goes to an hourglass for a few seconds and then the above error message.
    I'm running XP Pro SP3.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Marc

    A couple of other thoughts:
    1. Perhaps PSE 7 doesn't like the PSE 4 address book.  That happens occasionally, though I recall it caused other symptoms, not a crash.  You could find all copies of the file "contacts.xml" and delete them, and see if that helps.  Different versions of PSE can hide these in dfferent folders, so configure Windows Explorer to show hidden files and then search your entire C drive.
    2. You could try the sledgehammer approach of uninstalling PSE 7, manually removing all traces left behind by the uninstaller, and then re-installing in what Adobe calls "simplified mode", with anti-virus and all other background services disabled:

The server probably wants you to use the STARTTLS command before you authenticate.
See the com.sun.mail.smtp package javadocs for the property to set to enable that.

  • Mail / MX Configuration problems

    Hi folks
Warning - I'm a bit of a newb, but bear with me.  I have fiddled and experiemented and googled but have not found a resolution to my Mail / DNS / MX issues.
So some background - 2012 Mac Mini, Mavericks Server, behind NAT firewall with port forwarding enabled.
    Outward facing IPs are:
    204.237.29.253
    204.237.28.55
    68.71.35.138
    LAN IPs are:
    192.168.0.254
    10.0.0.1 - VPN for LAN
Issue in short - I can send and receive email from [email protected], but not [email protected]
The error I get when sending from [email protected] is:

Help - I'm at my wits' end!
    Thanks - much obliged.

From that data dump shown: You won't want to include private addresses in public DNS — that doesn't work.   You probably won't want public IP addresses for a host with a local private address — though that'll work if your gateway-firewall-NAT box can "reflect" references to that public IP address back into your local network and your private address space.   You've got a variety of A records for that host, and — in the absence of multiple-path IP links and BGP — all but one of those are probably wrong,  Multiple A records do work, but probably not the way you seem to expect: the remote host querying the host name will get one of those addresses — effectively at random, as this approach is used for load balancing.   In any case, having private addresses in a public DNS space is definitely wrong.
Looking at the public DNS services for this configuration, the following is a problem — that mail. host shouldn't be in the public DNS (at all):
    $ dig +short MX healthhive.ca
    10 mail.
    0 gonk.healthhive.ca.
    $
This is also a problem — there's no IP address for the host that is the mail server, which means no mail can get to this server:
    $ dig +short gonk.healthhive.ca.
    $
There is no reverse DNS for any of the stated IP addresses, and that'll mean other mail servers will discard mail arriving from associated hosts:
    $ dig +short -x 204.237.29.253
    $ dig +short -x 204.237.28.55
    $ dig +short -x 68.71.35.138
    $
You probably also have the same domain inside and outside and — while not wrong — it's more difficult to manage than having an external domain and an internal domain, as you have two sets of DNS servers that are both "authoritative" for the same DNS domain, which means you'll have to track both DNS servers together as changes are made.  Again, that's possible, but it means you'll either need a NAT box that knows how to "reflect" IP references to your external address, or you'll need to keep private IP addresses for all the known hosts in the private DNS server, and the public addresses in the public DNS server.
You'll probably end up starting over here, if that's an option.  (Classically, once bad DNS gets embedded in various service configurations, it can be easier to start over than to change everything.)  Here is an overview of setting up internal DNS for OS X Server.  Once you have internal DNS sorted out and working — and again, I'd use a separate registered domain here and not the external domain — then you'll probably have your external DNS set up with one MX record for one external IP address — again, that's in the absence of BGP and/or multiple mail servers — for your mail server.  If you do have multiple IP addresses and multiple mail servers around, then you might see multiple MX records.  (But if it's all the same box, then adding host aliases onto the MX list usually doesn't get you much.)
Until you resolve the public DNS configuration and the public MX records, various other (remote) mail servers won't chat with this box.
What's your firewall here?  Is that device BGP-capable and do you have multiple ISP connections?  (I have various of those configurations around, but that's not typical entry-level gear found in these discussions.)
More generally, what are your goals here?

  • Postfix error, no Queue, mail service dosen't work anymore.

    Hi,
I reinstall my osx server 10.5.5 and now the mail service dosent work anymore. In the SMTP log I get this error every time anyone try to send a email to this server.

I already try mailbfr, and nothing append.
If anybody know how to completly erase the mail service to startover whithout reinstall the server, I'm willing to do that to!
    Thanks!

Edit /etc/postfix/main.cf in Terminal or a text editor (not Word).
    Change:
    smtpdclientrestrictions = permit_mynetworks bl.spamcop.net permit
    to:
    smtpdclientrestrictions = permit_mynetworks rejectrblclient bl.spamcop.net permit
    When done, issue:
    sudo postfix reload
    HTH,
    Alex
mailbfr is for fixing the Cyrus database or backing up mail services. It has nothing to do with Postfix/SMTP
