Mail service problem
I can not access to may mail and community in my nokia c3 mobile phone. When I open mail, it shows a box and 'start' is written within the box, but as I press start button, it shows a message 'ur latest service is available'. And suddenly is disconnects. Same is happening in community connection. Plz solve this problem.
Both, the E-mail client and that Social-media client were proxy services handled by a server at Nokia. Those services got turned-off in November. Which E-mail provider(s) do you want to use? Which Social-media service(s) do you want to use? Then, we are able to give step-by-step guides how to use them today, without changing your phone.

Problem in configuring mail services
Hello all,
I am configuring my system for automated mail sending.
WebDynpro provides functionality to incorporate such services.
I have followed WebDynpro guidelines for creating a mail service, but while entering WSDL description as
http://webservices.matlus.com/scripts/emailwebservice.dll/wsdl/IemailService
it gives error saying , please enter proper WSDL.
I also tried to download the same WSDL on local machine and pass it as a parameter. But while compiling some classpath error appears.
Please guide me on that.Hi,
As you can see the wdsl file in the browser when you type the URL, I don't think it is a problem with the URL.
To check if it is the problem with the NetWeaver Studio you can check it with a web service in the local machine or the server. I think there are some examples webservices like car rental services that come with the installation.
From what I learnt from one of my senior is that it might be a problem due to the proxy connection that you use to connect to the internet. Please verify if the proxy allows you to use the web service.
Regards

Hi,
I am creating a standard e-mail service given in the SDN Tutorials. Everything is fine, but i am getting the following error message once i click on the <b>SendMail</b>button.
<b>java.rmi.RemoteException: Service call exception; nested exception is: com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.XmlMarshalException: XML Serialization Error. Property [FromAddress] of class [com.itc.email.model.proxies.types.SendEmail] must exist and can not be null. This is required by schema description.</b>
Please let me know what is the exact reason, also let me is there any other <b>.wsdl</b> file for creating an e-mail service.
Thanks and Regards
Poojith M VHi Murtuza,
I had sent all the required parameters (i.e. From, To Address, Subject and the message) but still i am getting the same message. Please let me know how to proceed.
Thanks and Regards

In this image, the area of that two red lines are always displaced on the screen every times when I used the Mail service and those are the addresses that I used. Anyone know how to solve it? Thanks!
Quit Mail and relaunch it by clicking its icon in the Dock while holding down the shift key. Any change?

Apple online did a great job on troubleshooting my yahoo mail connectivity issue. They said yahoo has made changes that has affected mail service access. we setup yahoo mail under the IMAP protocol vs the POP. Call apple for help.
It's nice of you to share your good experience with iTunes support with the rest of us here in ASC. I'm glad that it went well for you.

Setting up mail services. Name of server needs to be changed?
I setup my xserve with snow leopard. By default it was named server.ourcompanyname.private.
Here is my problem Im trying to host our company web site along with mail services. Need to bring all this in-house.
I have with my web provider 5 dedicated IP address, and router address. I bridged the modem to an airport extreme to hand out all the ip address and DHCP, this was done with apple support.
I need advise on how to go about setting up all the services. Can the name of the server be changed without causing major problems?
Any advise would be appreciated. One other note. Can I change the .private. to .com and will this help me setup mail and hosting services?

How do I set up Mail service for simple IMAP with SSL?
This should be easy but something isn't working. I have an Xserve with 10.6. I've enabled the Mail service, and want to add this server as an Account under Entourage. I've put in the IP address, my username/password, etc. but something isn't working. It appears under the Accounts folder tree, but when I try to send an email, I have a window that says "4.7.0 TLS not available due to local problem", Error -17099". I've also seen errors telling me the password is being sent in cleartext and I can't see where I enable the same (SSL, password needed) settings on the client and the server menus. Can someone clue me in - what are the right settings on both ends to have a simple IMAP w/o cleartext passwords? I had this working fine in 10.4 Server... Thanks!
MikeI see dropdown menus for SMTP SSL and IMAP/POP SSL. I have them both set as "Require"
Do not to this if your server is handling incoming mail from outside your network.
Few remote mail servers will use SSL, so if your server requires SSL then you will not be able to receive mail from outside your domain.
'Use', on the other hand, advertises the fact your server supports SSL, so clients and remote servers can use if if they like, but this still allows other mail in.
What should "Authentication" be - "Login" or "Plain"
Do not use Plain unless you absolutely trust all your clients (i.e. they're all on a LAN or all using SSL). Plain sends an unencrypted password over the wire, which is susceptible to sniffing.
what will the client be using?
Whatever you set it to.
The client complains about a correct root certificate not being installed).
Are you using a self-signed certificate? if so, you're going to get that unless you do a lot of extra work. Getting a real certificate from a trusted authority should resolve this.
As for the slow connections, the use of SSL shouldn't significantly impact connection or delivery/transfer times, so something else is amiss. -
Mail Services connection times out after 10.5.8 - 10.6.4 upgrade
I have been running a mail server on my macosxserver02.binghamton.edu (128.226.xx.x) for Podcast Producer email notifications only. The mail service has been running fine until I recently upgraded the server to Apple's latest server software: Snow Leopard Server (10.6.4).
After the upgrade I'm no longer able to receive mail to the mail server from outside it's domain (macosxserver02.binghamton.edu). I can send and receive mail locally from within that domain. I can send mail outside of the domain without any trouble to my personal email account [email protected], but not my work account: [email protected]. If I try to send from outside the domain -- say with my Binghamton Univ account -- the mail bounces back with this message:
Delivery to the following recipient has been delayed:
[email protected]
Message will be retried for 2 more day(s)

One thing to note about the .binghamton.edu domain is that we recently switched to Google Mail and .binghamton.edu is our branded domain within google.com.
DNS is managed on another server. I had an MX record added to my server this morning.
I have these ports open on my firewall: 143, 993, 25, 587 (POP is not enabled)
In ServerAdmin>Mail>Settings>Relay 'Accept SMTP relays only from these hosts and networks' is checked with
127.0.0.0/8
128.226.62.0/26 (my local subnet)
In ServerAdmin>Mail>Settings>Filters Junk Mail and Virus filtering is not enabled, so greylisting should not be a problem. I did confirm this line in main.cf: smtpd_recipient_restrictions = permit_sasl_authenticated permit_mynetworks reje ct_unauth_destination permit
10MB quota is set, Mailing Lists not enabled, Logging set at Information
In ServerAdmin>Mail>Settings>Advanced>Security I am not using SSL. I do have a valid certificate that I would like to use after I get this back up and running.
In ServerAdmin>Mail>Settings>Hosting 'Include server's domain as local host alias' is checked with
localhost
binghamton.edu
Virtual hosting is not enabled.

macosxserver02:~ academic$
Could someone please help me figure out what is wrong?
Cheryl Tarbox
Macintosh Support Specialist
Binghamton University
[email protected]I found two things that were causing my troubles.
First, port 25 on the switch going to the server was blocked. After this was opened I was able to receive mail to macosxserver02.binghamton.edu. Since this mail server is only used for Podcast Producer notifications, I'm hoping to have this port closed back down after I get Pcast Producer back up and running and fully tested.
Second, when the upgrade from 10.5 -> 10.6 was performed, in ServerAdmin>Mail>Settings>Domain Name, only the .binghamton.edu was populated in this field, not the full domain name of macosxserver02.binghamton.edu. This was preventing me sending mail to our Google branded .binghamton.edu email addresses. Apparently 10.6 was looking locally for all the .binghamton.edu email addresses.
A big thank you to Gordon for looking into this and helping me get this resolved.

Error in the SMTP log of the mail service regarding "master.lock"
I am getting the following error in the SMTP log of the mail service, Anybody might have any suggestions:
postfix/master[87670]: fatal: open lock file /var/lib/postfix/master.lock: cannot open file: Permission denied.
The permissions of the master.lock file are as follows:
-rw------- 1 _postfix mail 33 Jul 7 10:25 master.lock
The Mail service stops after a few minutes from starting it
I appreciate your feedbackI found the problem.. the executable job was referring to a none existing batch file..
I have refreshed the database from production some time ago and the jobs I have setup are referring to production scripts and paths (which we didnt have on dev)..
This is now resolved.
Thanks -
Recently, after a year or more of relatively smooth service, my OS X Server 10.4.11 Mail services has been locking up daily.
I was finally able to get some information from the log files (I am a noob to this) and saw the following right after my most recent reboot of the server:
Oct 5 09:51:11 mm1 master[50]: ERROR: Cannot start mail services, configuration directory does not exist: /Volumes/Data/mail/var/imap
I checked the server and that directory is indeed there on the partition named "DATA", so I am baffled as why the server does not thing the configuration directory exists?
drwxr-xr-x 15 cyrusima mail 510 Oct 5 09:51 imap
drwxr-xr-x 15 root admin 510 Oct 3 20:01 imap.BAK
drwxr-xr-x 15 cyrusima mail 510 Oct 3 20:05 imapold10032009-200707
drwxr-xr-x 4 jkoerber admin 136 Dec 3 2007 spool
mm1:/Volumes/Data/mail/var jkoerber$
Can anyone help me? My customers are yelling for blood because they cannot send/receive emails.

Message was edited by: Jon KoerberThanks Alex for the feedback. You are helpful as always!
It's good to know that the message I am getting from the mail server about the configuration files is only a temporary thing. Although I find it strange that the mail service doesn't know where its config files are since it is specified in the mail server setup.
I looked at the log files you mentioned and do not see anything that looks like a specific problem with the mail services themselves.
Recently, however, I have been having recurring problems where my mail server and my Web/Database server have both become unresponsive at nearly the same time even though they are on different class A networks to where I cannot access them via ARD, Server Admin and even SSH. That is usually when my mail server goes offline. I was afraid it was because of that configuration error I was seeing, but think now that the problem could be something else entirely (maybe some kind of network problem or denial of service hacking attack, no idea).
Thanks again.

PSE 7.0 Crashes w/Adobe E-Mail Service
PSE 7.0 crashes with the following response when I try to send an image using Photomail or as an attachment.
It appears to work fine (or at least gets to the point where I can edit the message) when using Outlook or Outlook Express. However, we use Thunderbird, so would prefer to use the Adobe E-Mail service. We upgraded from PSE 4, which worked on the Adobe E-Mail Service with no issues.
"Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 (Organizer) has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
It gets to the point where the email shows up on the right-hand sidebar, then the mouse goes to an hourglass for a few seconds and then the above error message.
I'm running XP Pro SP3.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
MarcA couple of other thoughts:
1. Perhaps PSE 7 doesn't like the PSE 4 address book. That happens occasionally, though I recall it caused other symptoms, not a crash. You could find all copies of the file "contacts.xml" and delete them, and see if that helps. Different versions of PSE can hide these in dfferent folders, so configure Windows Explorer to show hidden files and then search your entire C drive.
2. You could try the sledgehammer approach of uninstalling PSE 7, manually removing all traces left behind by the uninstaller, and then re-installing in what Adobe calls "simplified mode", with anti-virus and all other background services disabled:

File Proxy Service Problem on errors
In continuation of this thread...
File Proxy Service Problem on errors
We are now facing two problems.
1.The proxy service is executed twice
2.File is getting moved to error directory with prefixed file names which we are not able to retrieve and use in the notification email.
Not sure how to fix :(1.The proxy service is executed twice Check if this is due to transaction timeout issue as discussed here. Re: OSB File polling working twice with the same file
2.File is getting moved to error directory with prefixed file names which we are not able to retrieve and use in the notification email.I am not sure wehther you have any option here. You can check with support. Alternatively can raise notification mail with the timestamp and some file/business identifier from the file. The support person can then open the file from error directory to verify the file/business id in the file or educate the support user that the files will have a prefix
