Mail settings not syncing

i have itunes set to sync 1 of my 4 mail account settings.
it's ticked in itunes and when i hit "sync" it says it is syncing the mail settings.
once it has finished i got to the touch and check the mail and it hasn't done anything, no mail account is there.
any ideas ?
touch is on 1.1.4 (with software update).

If that doesn't work, there is a section in the iPod settings that says some thing like: In next sync only, information on this iPod will be replaced by info from this computer. I believe that that pertains to mail accounts.

After installing Mavericks on an imac, Mail would not sync with my Google Apps email account.  After I clicked on All Mail the program crashed and now it crashes every time I open Mail.  Does anyone have an suggestions?

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • Sent mail does not sync between devices

My sent mail does not sync between devices. For example, if I send an email from my Iphone it does not show in my sent box on the MAC mail (postage stamp). If I send mail from MAC mail it does not show on my phone.  But if I go to Yahoo (mail) I can see all sent mail.
What am I doing wrong? Is there a setting that allows them to snch sent mail??

From reports on this site, Yahoo mail doesn't work reliably with Mail. The following steps may help.
Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

  • ICloud mail settings not saved in System Preferences on Mountain Lion

I note that iCloud mail settings not saved in System Preferences on Mountain Lion even if I tick mail in Icloud then close system preferences then open system preferences and it is untiked again?
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Cheers
    Paul

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • My yahoo mail is not syncing to any of my apple devices

My yahoo mail is not syncing to any of my apple devices. They have all be in use for some time and just stopped overnight. Any suggestions as to how to resolve?

It could be something that yahoo has done in their perpetual 'improvements'. Beyond removing and readding your info there's not much you can do but wait it out. If Yahoo has broken it, yahoo has to fix it.
In the past I've accessed my yahoo via mobile safari and I believe they also have their own mail app, you may want to explore those as a work around until it resolves.

  • Mail account settings not syncing

    Hi all,
Wondering if someone out there can help me with this.
I have various e-mail accounts. Back when I was on MobileMe, the settings for those accounts (SMTP etc) would sync flawlessly to all my iDevices.
Since migrating to iCloud, I have had to update SMTP settings due to ISP issues, and none of the revised settings propogated to my iPhone or iPad.
Though I went in and manually adjusted settings, the phone is still sending mail through the wrong ISPs SMTP despite the fact that I manually altered it. This is annoying as work e-mails are reponded to from a different address.
Basically what I want to know is - is there a way to get my Phone to inheret the setting on my computer automatically (just like I had on MobileMe). There was never any need to tinker with settings on each device before. If I could get my phone to 'start over' on it's mail settings and inheret them, the issues would dissapear.
This has been a bit annoying/distracting tryng to solve this. I kind of thought iCloud would be a huge improvement over MobileMe, but although I like aspects of it, it has actually been worse in terms of creating little headaches. It's not been seamless at all.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Wjosten, thank you! A simple resolution....

  • Mail (Yosemite) not syncing all Exchange mails

I tried hard it convert from Outlook 2011 to shiny Mail. For me a disaster. Here are my problems with it:
Mail does not receive all mails. Some are just left out. There seems not to be any rule. Even syncing doesn't change a thing. Some mails stay at the server.
I send a mail and need the sent mail. I only find this in my Sent folder after a minimum of 15 minutes. Sometimes it takes more than an hour. Syncing or re-starting Mail didn't poke Mail to get these quicker from the server.
Although the receiving is set to be checked "automatically", it takes up to five minutes to get a new mail after it arrived on the server.
All the above don't happen with Outlook. Running both applications in parallel will always lead to MS gets the newly arriving mail first. Even a mail sent from Mail appears immediately in Outlook's Sent folder. When you are really a fan you may get around with these two. But not receiving some mails is a no go.

Sometimes this issue is caused by a misconfiguration or incompatibility of the Exchange server, or perhaps by a bug in Mail. If so, you won't be able to resolve it yourself. The fact that your iOS devices may be working well with the same account isn't relevant, because iOS uses a completely different protocol (ActiveSync) to communicate with Exchange servers. By default, OS X Mail uses the EWS protocol.
Each of the following steps has been reported to help with Exchange issues, at least temporarily, in some cases:
    1. Back up all data. Open the Internet Accounts pane in System Preferences and check to make sure you don't have duplicate Exchange accounts. If you do, delete all but one of the duplicates. If there are no duplicates, delete the account and recreate it with the same settings.
    2. Rebuild the affected mailbox.
    3. Reindex messages.
    4. Follow the instructions in this support article to disable autodiscovery. You may need to get configuration details from the server administrator.
    5. In the Keychain Access application, delete the password item for the account. The next time Mail tries to access the account, you'll be prompted for the password. Check the box to save it in the Keychain.
    6. If you've created subfolders of the Exchange inbox, log in to the server through its web interface, move the messages out, and remove the subfolders. The inbox should have no subfolders.
    7. Synchronize with the server using IMAP rather than EWS. This is only possible if IMAP is enabled on the server.
    8. Consider using Outlook instead of Mail to access your Exchange mail.

  • My ipad mail is not syncing with my iPhone

My ipad is not syncing mail with my iPhone when I read mail on my  iPhone it doesn't  say read on my ipad . Can anyone help me to sort this problem please.

You have been using MobileMe's email settings, which sometimes continue to work for a time after migration but then get turned off. iCloud's mail server settings are different. Strictly speaking Lion 10.7.2 is required for iCloud, and on that Mail is set up automatically.
Snow Leopard cannot access most of iCloud's facilities, however you can set Mail up manually to access your email. The method is described here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudmail.html
The situation with iCloud and Snow Leopard is described in detail here:

  • TS3276 OS X Mavericks Mail does not sync with Exchange Server

After moving to Mavericks, mail, contacts, anc calendars do not sync with our exchange server. It will set up the first time and then stop sycning. Is there a way to delete the mail app and reinstall. All other Apple devices sync with the exchange server with no issues.

It was my DNS settings. I had my Airpot pointing to OpenDNS, and for some reason iCal and Address Book could not find their way to my exchange server. I changed the setting to use my ISP's DNS and now everything works fine.

  • User settings not syncing in Premiere Pro CC

Searched around the forum and the rest of the web for help, couldn't quite find anything.
My company just hired another videographer/editor and so I got upgraded from the old Production Premium 5.5 to CS CC so we'd be running the same version.
My problem, as the title suggests, is that my settings aren't transferring between projects. I'm not getting my keyboard shortcuts, general preferences or my custom bins.  All my old 5.5 projects now open with the default settings, and even after I tell it sync from the menu, they won't sync.
5.5 kepy everything across all projects, so I'm not sure if I'm missing a setting to switch on or what. I know we had some licensing issues when IT first did the upgrade, which just made me run a trial for two or three days. I haven't uninstalled/reinstalled yet, and would prefer not to. To clarify, I'm not worried about getting my settings from 5.5. I can redo my settings in CC, I just want to avoid doing it in every project. New projects are synced right out of the gate.
I'm running Windows 7 and CC v7.0.1(105), and according to my CC manager all my programs are up-to-date. Also running Ae, Ai, Au, Ps and Sg.
I changed some settings in Ae and those synced automatically, no effort on my part.
First time posting on the forums, so if I missed something, apologies!

Alright, that makes sense for the old 5.5 projects. But I'm still having issues syncing across CC projects.
Example: Made one test project, changed settings, keyboard shortcuts, special workspace and added a custom bin. Synced those to the cloud. Started a new project, Test 2. Test 2 kept all those same settings. Closed PrePro, launched it and started a new project, creatively named Test 3. Test 3 was completely default. Opened Test 2, it was set to the defaults and same with the first one, except it kept the workspace.
It seems like it keeps settings if I leave PrePro open the settings keep syncing, but if I close it and reopen, it's set to default and those settings persist... Which is why I thought new projects were keeping the settings synced.
    Thanks for the help Jim!

  • Sent mail folder not syncing iPhone/Mac

    Hello,
I have the problem, that my Email account (icloud IMAP) is not syncing the sent folder. I can only see sent emails on my iPhone that I actually sent with my iPhone. The same on my Mac. All settings seem to be just fine and everything else works pretty well.
    Any ideas?

  • Outgoing Mail Settings Not Showing

    Hello,
I recently purchased an iPhone 4s, and had a little trouble sending e-mail from it (Hotmail). I had the settings good to go, and was able to send/receive e-mail from my Hotmail account, but then last night I got the Delivery Failure notification when I tried to send an e-mail. No problem, I'll just check the outgoing mail settings to make sure everything is set correctly, but they're not there?? I go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>My Hotmail Account>Account, and it doesnt show the Outgoing or Incoming Mail settings. It only has my e-mail, password, description, and below that the S/MIME on/off setting. I cant find anything on where the settings went. Am I going crazy or does anyone know what's going on?

Update: I called in to Apple Support and they advised me to set up another e-mail account on the phone. I did this (gmail) and everything is fine. It appears to be an issue with Hotmail and iOS playing well together. I've seen this around the internet as well, but haven't come across a case where the Outgoing mail settings just disappeared.

  • Since maverick update my mail does not sync properly

I have an iphone, ipad and a mac book pro.  since the upgrade to maverick my imail is a disaster.   my imail will say i have 418 emails yet my iphone and ipad say there are 430....
I do not always get the emails in my imac on my desk top.
why is that and is there anyway to correct it?
someone told me to go to gmail and remove the show in imap from the all mail settings but that did not help the issue instead my imail now shows only 262 and my iphoneand ipad say 430
Any help would be appreicated as numerous phone calls to apple have resulted in me being told I just need to use icloud mail and apple is no longer supporting gmail.

Without being in front of your system it's difficult to say why it's not working however iCloud is pretty simple to set up. At this point you should re-read the instructions link I provided earlier, look specifically for the Mac. I suspect you missed something simple. Remember look in your System Preferences - iCloud and ensure the boxes are checked. Because you choose to use  Hotmail you also may want to look at your mail settings and Hotmail's site to see if they have some limitations. I have never used Hotmail so I'm just not familiar with it.
Oh and if you want there is an iCloud forum on this site, so please look at that to see if you can find someone that has had a similar issue and found a resolution.

  • +3,000 Mail.app Notes Sync Console Messages

    Hi!
Thanks for looking at my question!
I seem to be generating +3000 console messages every few days that almost all relate to syncing, particularly notes sync, errors from Mail.app.  I do not know how to decipher these messages to find the root of the problem.  I have notes sync de-selected on each Mail account as well as de-selected on MobileMe prefs.
How do I avoid Mail continuing to generate these errors?

Well, nothing helped, even with the latest 2 updates where Apple states they fixed bugs in Mail app. Thus I just bought "AirMail" it's very cheap and works awsome with full gmail support.
NB. I've used MS outlook for a while but it was awful, now totally satisfied with "Airmail" it supports notification, very light weight, etc.
cons: I found that it cached all the attachments I have on my gmail.

  • IPhone 5s mail deletion not syncing with Mavericks mail app

I am having issues with email not deleting->syncing.
I will check my email on my iphone 5s.
I will delete a few emails.
When I get home and check my email on my imac mail app.....
those emails that I deleted will still be in the inbox (even after refreshing)
What am I missing? Ive checked all the setting but must be missing one small thing....
As it works correctly when deleting from my Mavericks mail app then checking my iphone.
Thanks for your help in advance!

Make sure you have the "Delete from server" set to "When removed from Inbox" on the iPhone.  Otherwise the server will keep the email and your Mac will see it when you read your mail later.
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > (select account) > Advanced > (under INCOMING SETTINGS) Delete from server > (Make your selection here)
