Mail signature change doesn't delete 1st signature

Hello,
I have 3 signatures and when I create an email, the default signature appears in the email.
I then select Signature and choose signature 2 or 3, and signature 2 or 3 is added below signature 1 in the email.
Signature 1 should disappear so the only signature in the email is signature 2 or 3.
I have to delete signature 1 myself, to bring signature 2 or 3 up to the place below my email text.
Please help fix this.

I know where to go. What I am saying is that when I go there and change the signature and then save it, then after I send the first e-mail the signature defaults back to: "Sent from my Nokia N900"

Try restarting your computer. If that doesn't correct it try a SMC and pram reset
To reset the SMC
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
To reset PRAM/NVRAM
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

• How do I set up my e-mail so it doesn't delete it from my server when I delete it on my iPad

When on my iPad and I read my e-mail and then delete it, it also deletes it on my AT&T server. How do I set it up so that it leaves it on the server.
I read my e-mail from several different devices and do not want it deleted from the server.

Then AT&T email must be IMAP email and if it is, anything that you do on one device syncs across all devices with IMAP. If you delete the message on your iPad, that will delete it from the server, your computer, your iPhone or any smartphone that you have .... It deletes it from all devices. If you read an email on one device, it will appear as being read on all devices. If you move the email to a Saved folder on one device, that moves it to the Saved folder on all devices.
There is nothing that you can do about that. It is the way that IMAP email works.

• Mac Mail Signatures Changing between them

On my mac book pro in Mac Mail when i change from one signature to another, it doesn't delete the previous signature so i end up with 2 in an email - how do i fix this?

I had the same issue, fixed it by creating a new signature and deleted the old one. Just copy and paste the content into a new signature and rename it afterwards. Hope that works for you too.

Thank you!!

• How do I change line spacing in a Mail signature? Where's the formatting menu?

I want to reduce double-spacing in my Mail signature to single spacing so it's more compact and doesn't take up all kinds of vertical space (more than the email itself--I've had recipients complain about this--and it's a business email). I have a logo (.png) in the signature that I've been using with no problem. I have text above and below the logo. It's just too widely spaced. Surely there must be a formatting menu that I can use to shrink the line spacing in Mail Signatures? Or elsewhere, then reimport and have the formatting stick? This is a pretty basic feature for an email client to offer. Is there a simple solution to this?

• Mountain Lion problems with Mail Signatures, Pages, Numbers, Keynote - This quick fix solved all my problems with these. Pages etc wouldn't launch and needed to be force quitted. Mail signature changes wouldn't save.

The solution was simple in my case. I don't know why it worked and it may have been entirely coincidental but its worth a try.
Close all applications and restart Mountain Lion.
Log in as Guest. I opened Pages at this point but I don't know if that's required.
Log out and then back in as your normal user.
Pages, Numbers and Keynote now were fine for me and Mail signature changes were saved and available for later use.
For those trying to edit the signatures to get their old ones back - I just found an old sent mail and copied the signature there into the newly created one via the normal preferences. No need for opening .mailsignature files and editing them. This included various colours, sizes, an image and a link with no problems.
I hope this helps anyone having some of these problems.

• HTML Mail Signatures changed in OSX Mountain Lion

Hi,
The way i usually set up a HTML email signature is by creating a new signature in mail, finding that .webarchive file in Library > Mail > Signatures and replacing it with the newly made .webarchive file of the HTML signature. This has worked fine up until I needed to do the same for a MacBook Pro running on Mountain Lion.
It seems the file type Mail creates for new signatures is now called .mailsignature. I tried using the same method as above but changing the extension to the new format but its not working.
Does anyone know how i can get my html sig into Mail for Mountain Lion?
Cheers!

Scrap that - even though i searched this forum prior to asking, after i posted it came up with a list of answers.
Problem solved!

• Does anyone know how to restore mail signatures in Mavericks?

Does anyone know how to restore mail signatures in Mavericks?

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folders. In OS X 10.9 there are two sandboxes, while in earlier versions there is only one.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Repeat with this line:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.MailServiceAgent
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

• Cannot get formatted e-mail signature

I am using the current version of Thunderbird e-mail. I tried using a .htm file for my signature but the font formatting was not held properly. Then I tried creating a signature within an open new message, but when I highlighted my name and selected a different font for it from the drop-down menu, the font did not change. So, I cannot figure out how to get a properly formatted e-mail signature to use.

Charter is my provider. For some reason the port got changed. I tried deleting my account and reinstalling it manually and rebooting a few times until I found the incoming mail server port was different than my laptop in Outlook. I changed the port to match my laptop. I didn't do anything with the outgoing mail server port. It seems to be working. It lags my laptop by several minutes when retrieving e-mail. Not sure if that is normal.
Thanks, I should have updated on my progress.

• HT1430 Disappearing iOS mail signature images

Suddenly, over the last 3 or 4 days, my iPhone and iPad signature is missing the image.
I keep deleting the old signature and try to re-paste it, and it shows up for a short time, then disappears. My text still show up, but the image keep disappearing.
It's always worked fine before, but now I can't figure out what the problem is. Any ideas?

After much time messing around with this I figured out the issue. It is the way WinDoze (Outlook) formats the HTML E-Mail signature!
I tried publishing an HTML through many ways and it always lost the pictures and sometimes even the formatting. I knew I needed to get it into an Apple compatible format but could not figure out how, copying it just copies the text and leaves out the pictures so here is what I did!
1. Copy the entire signature from an existing E-Mail. (or create your own)
2. Paste it into TextEdit.
3. Save it as a RichText document.
4. Open the document and select the entire signature.
5. Open Mail and paste the signature into a new E-Mail.
6. Send it to yourself.
7. Open that Email on your iPhone. (or iPad) {I have not tried it on an iPad but I assume it will work the same}
8. Click on your signature and "Select All".
9. Go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calenders>Signature.
10. Click on the account you want to use or use all accounts.
11. Paste the text into the box.
12. Shake your iPhone and click on "Undo Change Attributes". <--VERY important! (It updates the formatting when pasting)
13. Send an E-Mail and check out your awesome new signature!

• Add custom content before E-Mail signature. In outlook add-in c# développment

Hello,
I have make an add-in 2013 for outlook project in C#. I upload on a server some file and put in the mail body the link to them. But i want to add this 'link part' before the E-mail Signature. How could I do that?
I have healready see code that enable me to get the signature file and read them. But i didn't know if it work on all the os and Outlook version. And the file is not copy past on the end of the body mail. So it didn't help me at all.
Ask me for more information if needed.
I thanks you for you're help.

Aurelien,
When you create a signature in Outlook three files (HTM,
TXT and RTF) are created in the following folder:
Vista and Windows 7/8:
C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Signatures
Windows XP :
C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures
"Application Data" and "AppData" are hidden folders, change the view in Windows explorer so it show hidden files and folders if you want to
see the files.
So, you read the content of these files and try to find the corresponding content in the message body. Note, users may type a custom signature in the end of
emails.

• How can I create an HTML Mail signature?

I've spent the evening searching for a way to create an HTML Mail signature with no luck. My problem is that when I create a new signature in Mail and close mail I try the following:
1. Create an HTML signature in Dreamweaver CS6
2. Open it in Safari & save it as a .webarchive to the desktop & close Safari & Dreamweaver
3. Open the signature folder (through Finder) and copy the Mail generated name (.mailsignature or it could be .signaturemail - can't remember) & delete the file
4. Click on the .webarchive and replace the name with the .mailsignature
5. Copy the new .mailsignature file & paste it to the signature file
6. Open mail and try to use the signature
7. NOT WORKING
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS!
PS I use iCloud if that makes any difference.
