Mail Signature changes font during replies/forwards

Hi,
I have a HTML Signature that I have created in Dreamweaver for our office. It all works fine until I am replying or forwarding an email. When I try to do this the font changes from Arial (or Verdana - cant remember) to Times New Roman - which is really annoying!!!
Can anyone help me with fixing this problem?
Cheers
Geoffrey

  • Mountain Lion problems with Mail Signatures, Pages, Numbers, Keynote - This quick fix solved all my problems with these. Pages etc wouldn't launch and needed to be force quitted. Mail signature changes wouldn't save.

The solution was simple in my case. I don't know why it worked and it may have been entirely coincidental but its worth a try.
Close all applications and restart Mountain Lion.
Log in as Guest. I opened Pages at this point but I don't know if that's required.
Log out and then back in as your normal user.
Pages, Numbers and Keynote now were fine for me and Mail signature changes were saved and available for later use.
For those trying to edit the signatures to get their old ones back - I just found an old sent mail and copied the signature there into the newly created one via the normal preferences. No need for opening .mailsignature files and editing them. This included various colours, sizes, an image and a link with no problems.
I hope this helps anyone having some of these problems.

  • HTML Mail Signatures changed in OSX Mountain Lion

    Hi,
The way i usually set up a HTML email signature is by creating a new signature in mail, finding that .webarchive file in Library > Mail > Signatures and replacing it with the newly made .webarchive file of the HTML signature. This has worked fine up until I needed to do the same for a MacBook Pro running on Mountain Lion.
It seems the file type Mail creates for new signatures is now called .mailsignature. I tried using the same method as above but changing the extension to the new format but its not working.
Does anyone know how i can get my html sig into Mail for Mountain Lion?
    Cheers!

Scrap that - even though i searched this forum prior to asking, after i posted it came up with a list of answers.
    Problem solved!

  • Mail 5: Change font size in Mailboxes column?

Pretty happy with Mail 5 so far (one day in).
Is there any way to change the font size for the left Mailboxes column? It's larger than the other two, and larger than I prefer.

Also in the new layout which personally I think is dreadful and thank god I can still use classic, the display unread messages in bold option does not work as all messages are shwon in bold whether they have been read or not. This only works in Classic mode.

  • Apple Mail automatically changing font size while typing

I've been using Apple Mail for about a month now and only just recently did it start exhibiting this unusual behavior where the font type and size of the entire message would change to something different while I was typing! Pressing CTRL+Z a couple times would revert the font to its intended size only to have it change back again a few keystrokes later. I noticed that it only happens when I type a word that contains an apostrophe (it's, David's, we're, isn't, we'll, etc.) and words that get auto-corrected. Going to MAIL | PREFERENCES and changing my Message Font does nothing as the font changes to something not set in Preferences.
Has anybody experienced this before? What did you do to fix it? Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
    Chris

Thanks for the suggestion, Eric. Unfortunately, that didn't do the trick. This is happening on my iMac at home and, just for reassurance, I compared the mail settings side-by-side to my work MacBook (which does not have this issue) -- all settings are identical!

  • Mac Mail Signatures Changing between them

On my mac book pro in Mac Mail when i change from one signature to another, it doesn't delete the previous signature so i end up with 2 in an email - how do i fix this?

I had the same issue, fixed it by creating a new signature and deleted the old one. Just copy and paste the content into a new signature and rename it afterwards. Hope that works for you too.

  • Mail signature change doesn't delete 1st signature

    Hello,
I have 3 signatures and when I create an email, the default signature appears in the email.
I then select Signature and choose signature 2 or 3, and signature 2 or 3 is added below signature 1 in the email.
Signature 1 should disappear so the only signature in the email is signature 2 or 3.
I have to delete signature 1 myself, to bring signature 2 or 3 up to the place below my email text.
    Please help fix this.

I know where to go. What I am saying is that when I go there and change the signature and then save it, then after I send the first e-mail the signature defaults back to: "Sent from my Nokia N900"

  • Mail signatures change into attachments, why?

I recently switched my email accounts from POP to IMAP and all of a sudden, sometimes my signatures are getting converted into attachments after I send the message. The attachments get titles such as ATT00001.txt. I am using Mac Mail. It happens with my work account. I also have an iphone and use mobile me to synch it with three other intel macs. But this happens without any involvement of AT&T and my iPhone.

I was having this same problem today, and I figured out what is happening.
When you send an attachment to Microsoft Outlook, the way that it handles rich text causes issues when you put the attachment icon in the body of the email.
I noticed that it only happens with non-image files. So .doc, .docx, etc. It doesn't cause problems when attaching .jpg or .pdf.
Any text that is located AFTER the icon you've attached is converted to ATT00001.txt when opened in Outlook. (and maybe other programs, I'm not sure)
The way to fix this is either:
    1) drag or place the icon to the very end of the email, (including after the signature) OR
    2) Go to the "Edit->Attachment" menu and check "Insert attachments at end of message."
Note, with option 2, you can set it as your default, thus not worrying about it.
The only issue is that when sending messages to other mac users, you can't have attachment icons show up in the middle of the email body.

  • Mail signature saving problems

Hi! My mail signature changes are not being saved? This just started happening... I have Lion. Please help. Thx!

I was having the same problem - some accts would lose the signatures when Mail would quit, some wouldn't. I have 8 POP accts and 1 IMAP, and 11 signatures.
The thread Austin Kinsella1 suggested above was very helpful, specifically this suggestion from Zyfrog:
" Re: Can a "signature" disappear?
    in response to: socalm
    Basically:
Go to Mail Preferences -> Accounts -> Advanced and uncheck "Enable this Account". Exit the preference dialog so it saves the changes, then go back and re-enable the account.
Do this for each account whose signature is broken. "
I found that only forcing the preference pane to Save was not enough - as Zyfrog says, I had to close the preference window for the change to set. I even quit and restarted Mail in between each account I updated (I had 5 that would randomly reset to 0 signatures each time Mail was quit). I found it also helpful to have the Activity window open (Window>Activity Viewer) during this, so I could wait until Mail was done syncing before I quit it each time.
Seems to be working perfectly now! Thanks all, for your assistance - this was one of those super annoying little glitches.

  • How to change font size for my replies in "mail" app?

for the record, I tried adjusting the font size in my replies in "mail" app via general > accessibility > larger text to the largest size - yet when I clicked on reply in the mail app, the font remained small, very small. please help!

If there are really only a few sites that you have problems with, just go to the site, and click the Command key along with the plus key.    This will temporarily increase the size of the type.
Command and the minus(-)  key makes type smaller.  These commands will work on a per site basis.

It changed after updating Firefox. It is fine on other browsers or older versions of Firefox.

Thanks for your reply cor-el. I had never heard of nor seen the pref network.http.max-connections until I read about it in some of the replies in this support forum. People were saying 256 was the old setting and a new setting of 48 would correct my problem. When I followed the instructions to get to - see - and change the setting I discovered that my network.http.max-connections was already set to 48. I never did this. The only way I can think of that this setting was changed is that it happened by an automatic update to my Firefox browser. So, the problem I have was probably happening while this setting was at 48 all along. It is still set at 48 and I am still having the same problem. I will try as you suggest and set it to 30 and see what happens. I'll let you know the results. That's again for your response.

  • Mac Mail Signature Font

    Hello Everyone,
I am having a very strange problem in my Mac mail program and was wondering if anyone had any advice.
Our company has new customized email signatures and whenever we use this signature in an email it changes the font in the body of the email to match the font contained in the signature which is too small to use for an email.
I was just wondering if anyone has come across this problem before and if so, how did they fix it?
    Thanks!!
