Mail Signature Sync

My Mail accounts synched correctly to my iPod, but the signatures are missing.
Is this supported on the iPod? If so, how do I get the signatures to appear on my outgoing emails from the iPod?
Thanks.

Hello soulartist,
I don't know if you can sync your mail signature over to your iPod, but you can set one up in your settings. To do this, head to Settings -> Mail,Contacts, and Calenders. Then scroll down and tap Signature to set your own.

• Unchanged Mail Signatures Constantly Being Synced

I am constantly getting messages asking to sync my Mail signatures, even though they are not changed. After I allow such a sync, I cannot sync my iPhone until after I restart the iMac to which it is connected. This problem is of a fairly recently origin.
Is there anyway I can make the process of syncing signatures work as it once did--i.e., they are only synced when changed.
My set up includes an iMac and an iBook, both running OS 10.5.6.

Hi
My mac is currently set up in the Dutch localization, and the "Mail" item reads "E-mailaccounts" (no translation necessary). All this synchronizes is your account settings. I used it when I migrated from my user account to a new account: this way, I didn't have to reconfigure my multiple email accounts in Mail (.Mac account, Gmail account, university account...). I see no other use to this sync functionality.
In particular, what it DOES NOT sync is any email stored in a local folder in mail.

• How do I export mac mail signatures?

Since migrating from Mobile Me to iCloud I have noticed that the signatures (of which I have a few) in Mac Mail do not sync to my other machines. My question is, how can I export my Mac Mail Signatures to another machine?

Close Mail in both machines.
In the computer where your signatures are, go to your user library (in OS Lion this is hidden, but you may access it by holding down the option (alt) key while clicking on "go" then you will see the library item in the list. Another option to access it is to go to finder, click on "go", select "go to folder" and paste this: "~/Library"
Once you are there, go to Mail - > v2 -> MailData
You will find a folder called "Signatures". Copy this folder.
Go to the same locatin in the other machine. Make a backup copy of the "Signatures" folder and replace it with the other machine's folder.
Open Mail and check everything is running.
Best

• Why do my signatures sync and yet they do not?

I set up my mail signatures on one Mac. And I choose a different signature for each email account.
Then I reset MobileMe with those signatures.
My other Macs are then synchronized by replacing their signatures with the ones from MobileMe. And I choose which signatures to use for each account.
Everything works for 1 -3 syncs.
Then, I get the message that syncing will change my signatures. I did not change them.
It shows me before and after signatures. They are the same.
Then the other Macs also get the same message, and again the before and after are the same.
And it goes on, and on, and on, always wanting to sync, without any changes.
And eventually I notice that even though signatures are there, and were chosen for the different mail accounts, each account will have the choice of NONE instead of the actual signature.
How can I fix this once and for all!

Judy,
Give this a try:
*+Your signatures are stored as webarchive files in your <home>/Library/Mail/Signatures folder. There should be a webarchive file for each signature and they in turn are referenced in a SignaturesByAccount.plist file within the same folder. It is possible that the plist file has become corrupted and/or the signature files are corrupted. Move the SignaturesByAccount.plist file to the desktop and then re-create your signatures to see if that resolves the problem.+*
I found that on another post (Thanks 2point5!)
After you move the SignaturesByAccount.plist to the desktop and recreate the signatures, make sure you then go ahead and trash it. A new one will be made in the Signatures folder.
So far this has worked for me.
Good Luck

• Mail signature saving problems

Hi! My mail signature changes are not being saved? This just started happening... I have Lion. Please help. Thx!

I was having the same problem - some accts would lose the signatures when Mail would quit, some wouldn't. I have 8 POP accts and 1 IMAP, and 11 signatures.
The thread Austin Kinsella1 suggested above was very helpful, specifically this suggestion from Zyfrog:
" Re: Can a "signature" disappear?
in response to: socalm
Basically:
Go to Mail Preferences -> Accounts -> Advanced and uncheck "Enable this Account". Exit the preference dialog so it saves the changes, then go back and re-enable the account.
Do this for each account whose signature is broken. "
I found that only forcing the preference pane to Save was not enough - as Zyfrog says, I had to close the preference window for the change to set. I even quit and restarted Mail in between each account I updated (I had 5 that would randomly reset to 0 signatures each time Mail was quit). I found it also helpful to have the Activity window open (Window>Activity Viewer) during this, so I could wait until Mail was done syncing before I quit it each time.
Seems to be working perfectly now! Thanks all, for your assistance - this was one of those super annoying little glitches.

• Add custom content before E-Mail signature. In outlook add-in c# développment

Hello,
I have make an add-in 2013 for outlook project in C#. I upload on a server some file and put in the mail body the link to them. But i want to add this 'link part' before the E-mail Signature. How could I do that?
I have healready see code that enable me to get the signature file and read them. But i didn't know if it work on all the os and Outlook version. And the file is not copy past on the end of the body mail. So it didn't help me at all.
Ask me for more information if needed.
I thanks you for you're help.

Aurelien,
When you create a signature in Outlook three files (HTM,
TXT and RTF) are created in the following folder:
Vista and Windows 7/8:
C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Signatures
Windows XP :
C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures
"Application Data" and "AppData" are hidden folders, change the view in Windows explorer so it show hidden files and folders if you want to
see the files.
So, you read the content of these files and try to find the corresponding content in the message body. Note, users may type a custom signature in the end of
emails.

• My ipad mail is synced to my iMac mail account. On iPad, I can only see my inbox and sent messages. I can't see any of the folders I have created on my iMac. How do I do that? Probably a dumb question, but I know there's a lot of smart people out there!

My iPad mail is synced to my private email account, which I organise on my iMac. On iPad, I can only see inbox and sent messages folders, not any of the other folders in my email account I have created on my iMac. How do I get iPad to show my other folders? Probably a dumb question, but I know there's a lot of smart people out there.

If you select a mailbox, you should get an Edit button (easier to see in landscape mode). Clicking the button will provide you with check circles for the messages. You also get Delete and Move buttons at the bottom. Check the messages you want to move and then navigate to the mailbox you want to drop them into. I think as long as you can navigate to a mailbox you can move the messages to it.
In the Mac Mail application and probably Outlook on the Windows side, you also setup rules to move messages to specific mailboxes. If the mailboxes are stored on the server, then you can have the sorting done on the server and they should appear that way on the iPad. If your later messages do not show up, you may need to have the iPad app pulled down more messages until they are all showing.

• How can I create an HTML Mail signature?

I've spent the evening searching for a way to create an HTML Mail signature with no luck. My problem is that when I create a new signature in Mail and close mail I try the following:
1. Create an HTML signature in Dreamweaver CS6
2. Open it in Safari & save it as a .webarchive to the desktop & close Safari & Dreamweaver
3. Open the signature folder (through Finder) and copy the Mail generated name (.mailsignature or it could be .signaturemail - can't remember) & delete the file
4. Click on the .webarchive and replace the name with the .mailsignature
5. Copy the new .mailsignature file & paste it to the signature file
6. Open mail and try to use the signature
7. NOT WORKING
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS!
PS I use iCloud if that makes any difference.

• E-mail (Outlook) syncs to iMac and iPad, but not to iPhone. How can I get it to sync to all three devices?

My e-mail (Outlook) syncs to my iMac and my iPad. However, I can read e-mails on my new iPhone, respond to them, and even erase them, but when I go to my computer or iPad afterwards, they still appear unopened and I have to open each one and close it again so it doesn't show up as an unread e-mail. This does not happen with the iMac and iPad; deleting it on one of those deletes it on the other as well. What am I doing wrong?

I asked the hosts to relocate your question to the Using iPhone Forum. You should get helped there.

• How do i add a LinkedIn badge to Apple Mail signature

Does someone know how to add popular badges (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter) to Apple Mail signatures. Just badge icon with a hyperlink to my profile.

Actually I just figured it out. Within your public profile on LinkedIn is an area for LinkedIn badges on right side. Click there and it will display several types of badges. Right click on the badge you want to use and do a "save as" to desktop.
Now go into Mail preferences, signatures. Copy and paste the icon you've saved to your desktop wherever you would like the badge to display within your signature. Then go to Edit on top menu and select "add link". This will open a box where you need to fill in your LinkedIn address that displays right below your profile photo. Save this.
This will turn the badge into a hyperlink that will connect to your LinkedIn Profile. To test it, create a new email using this signature and do a test send. When you receive the test email click on the badge to confirm that it takes you to your LinkedIn Profile.
Good luck!

• Is it possible to include the device name in an e-mail signature?

Greetings,
I am currently managing 150 iPads we have deployed in our school system. The iPads are on carts of 30 which are moved from classroom to classroom as needed. For student work I have set up Dropbox and it has been working fine. However, a few teachers requested the iPads be set up with e-mail which can be used to prevent filling up our Dropbox space. I have successfully done this using a shared Exchange e-mail address between all the devices. However, this has begun to cause some minor issues as the students can send an e-mail essentually anonymously from any of the iPads. We are trying to avoid creating e-mail accounts for all the students or iPads and I figured the easiest way to do this would be to add the device name to the e-mail signature. After searching for a while I have not come up with a yes or no as to whether this is possible or not. If it is not, are there any other solutions that don't involve a lot of work after reimaging the devices. Thanks in advance!
~Cameron

You can set the signature for an email to be anything you want it to be. Go to the Mail, Contacts, Calendars setting and go to the Signatures area. There is however no way I know of to lock this setting, so the students can just remove the device name if they know about the setting. I also don't know if there's a way to automate the configuration so you don't have to do this manually on each iPad. Perhaps someone else here will know.
Regards.

• My mail signature links no longer work

my mail signature links no longer work

Hello Immunetoall,
What video links?
Are they stored locally on the computer or are you visiting a website?
What browser do you use?
Where do these videos link to? (e.g. youtube)
What happens when you click on a video link? Saying "it doesn't work" doesn't really tell me what you are seeing to be able to accurately understand your issue.
