Mail Signatures Not Saved

I have Mail 3.4 and in the preferences I have entered three signatures for my email account and checked the "random" setting. I have tried entering the signatures in the email account I am using, entered them in all and dragged to the email account and closed preferences. If I leave the Mail program open, I can choose any one of the three signatures from the drop down to sign an email but when I close the Mail program the three signatures are gone from my mail account and only "none" is available in a new message signature drop down. I must go back and drag them to my mail account again for the new session. The signatures are listed in the all signature section.
The problem is the signatures are not saving in my email account when I close the program. All othe options save but not the signatures.
Any help?

I just logged in for the exact same issue!
I am guessing that there is a preference or other small part/user library that is corrupted. I do not know which one, so hopefully someone here will have the answer!

  • ICloud mail settings not saved in System Preferences on Mountain Lion

I note that iCloud mail settings not saved in System Preferences on Mountain Lion even if I tick mail in Icloud then close system preferences then open system preferences and it is untiked again?
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Cheers

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Mail is not saving attachment and save as is not working

Suddenly my Mail is not saving attachment and save as is not working. I tried to save an email as I use to do but it is not completing the task. I should I do?
    Thanks for any help,
    Mario Lordeiro

    Mario,
Was there also NO choice to View As Icon, in the contextual menu? If not, these items/images may be embedded in HTML, rather than true attachments. Other choices for normal attachments would include Open Attachment, Open With, Save to Downloads Folder -- are any of those present in the contextual menu?
With such a message open, click on View in the menubar, place the cursor on Message in the pull-down menu, and choose Raw Source. Is there any HTML code present? Is there a header immediately before any code representing what you believe is an attached file?
If need be, I can send you an email message with a known form of attachment.

  • Signatures not saved

I recently had a problem when I wanted to send a mail with too many adresses, so the system did show an error message with an overflow window off the screen making impossible to close it because the button where out of the screen. So I looked for a solution here in the forums and found this:
Try the steps suggested on this page. If unsuccessful, see below.
Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folders. In OS X 10.9 there are two sandboxes, while in 10.8 there is only one. If you're running a version older than 10.8, this comment isn't applicable.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.MailServiceAgent
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
This does not worked. Later I fix it with a simple solution. But because of the prior procedure (in blue) I did something wrong, and now, the mail signatures are not saved when I text it and configure in the mail preferences. I reinstalled Mavericks and nothing, I copied the signatures folder of my MacBook Pro and now I have these signatures, but when I want to modify it, they are not saved again, I only have the copied ones. What file I am missing and where I can obtain it to fix this? Thanks in advance

  • Mail attachments not saving to the folder I choose

My mail attachments are not saving to the folder I choose.  When I select a file to save in the mail drop-down box, I am given options to save to a folder of my choice.  However, when I select save the document is actually saved deep in some Mail Downloads area, not in my chosen folder.  Has anyone had a similar problem and found a solution?

What kind of files are you trying to attach?
Is it all recipients having this problem or specific one(s)?
Could you possibly post a screenshot of the sent message from your side and a screenshot of what the recipient sees?
What happens if you send one of these messages to yourself?

  • Networked user accounts, mail passwords not saving or notes?

    Hi there,
I have a mac mini set up as a server with latest software. On it i have 20 networked users which use between them for different mac mini's.
Problem which i have come across and i haven't found a solution yet. When i created them emails on there user accounts the incoming mail password won't save? On occasion i has saved, but once log out of the user and log back in the password has gone. which then it prompts me to keep typing the password in and won't save the password. This is very frustrating!!
I have also just noticed when i put message in notes and then log out and log in the the message has gone. This got me thinking it could be something with the user account not saving any data that put in? I don't really want to reformat the server if i don't have to.
If anyone has solution to this problem, it would really handy to know?

I click the Note button, nothing happens. The feature is completely out of service. I don't understand. Am I missing something obvious? I have tried the keystrokes too, no reaction at all, no errors, just can't use Notes, at all! rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Please help.
Update: I opened Console to see if I could find any errors immediate after trying to create a note and this is what I found:

  • Mail Signature not working

Ever since I did the update my mail signature will not load its there under the prefereance but you can not add it to any mail

  • Yahoo mail draft not saving

I'm using yahoo mail through my mail app and it's starting not to save my drafts when I save them. It just started and don't know how to fix it. Anyone know?

I am seeing the same bug. It worked a few days ago (since I got the phone), but yesterday it stopped working. I've noticed some other minor changes in their web client as well, so clearly they've done an 'upgrade' of some kind and have broken their mail server. Even more frustrating is that the phone loses all changes to the email that was being saved -- I lost a fair bit of text before I realized that this was happening.

  • Signature not Saved?

Greetings - I signed a PDF in the new version of Adobe Reader on the iPad. The signature shows on the screen just fine. However, when I e-mail the PDF, the signature is not there. Why is this? How can I fix it?
    Thanks.

Can you please tell me where the recipient is viewing the PDF? The signature is an annotation and not all PDF Viewers display annotations even though they are part of the ISO PDF standard. If the recipient is viewing in the iPhone/iPad email app or in Safari, then they won't be able to view the signature. Please encourage them to "Open In" Adobe Reader or another PDF Viewer that supports this feature!
If this does not help, please let us know. Thank you for the feedback!

  • Mail settings not saving in Yosemite

    Any ideas folks,
I have a number of email accounts on my iMac and Macbook Air, but despite the settings I apply and save the account reverts to the previous settings afterwards. This does not seem to affect the settings on my iPhone and mail arrives here fine. The particular setting I refer to is SSL (On/Off) and the port number. Also the two types of settings shown in the accounts pane and the preferences panes differ. Any help appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Ray

    Hi gravesendray,
Do you have this mail account set to detect and maintain your account settings? If so that may be leading the account astray. You can turn this off by going to the Mail menu > Preferences > Accounts > Select the account > Advanced pane > uncheck Automatically detect and maintain account settings.
    See this article -

  • Pictures sent by e-mail are not saved to iphoto in lion

When I preveiwed a picture sent by e-mail there was an icon to click on to save the picture to iphoto. This is not available now since I installed Lion.

What version of iPhoto and system are you running?  If it's iPhoto 9 are you emailing from iPhoto or are using Mail?  If from iPhoto there's an option to optimize the file which will reduce the file size.  Make sure you've selected full size in that menu:
The same goes for Mail.  Double check in Mail that the original file is being sent:
What can I do eliminate the unwanted situation?
A workaround would be to export the original to the desktop, zip/compress it and add the compressed file to the email.

  • Color signatures not saved in Preview

    Hi all
When I paste a signature into Preview (using the inbuilt Preview signature annotation) with a colored ink, it is fine on the screen, and also if printed to paper or pdf; but if the file is simply saved, upon reopening, the signature has changed to black, although other color in the document remains.
Anyone else found this and why it does it?
    Thanks, Paul

  • Gmail account on 10.7 / Mail 5 not saving password in Keychain

This is truly annoying.  Every time I launch Mail (5) I am prompted for my Gmail password.  If I try to save the password to the Keychain, it will fail.  If I don't save it, it will work.  I tried deleting the account and recreating in fresh on my MacBook.  No effect.  So, is this a Keychain or Mail issue, or both?  (The password works absolutely fine on my Imac running Mail (4) under Snow Leopard.)  Thanks, all!

I sorted it out myself. There was only a Keychain for the System but not the user account. Now there is and it works...

  • Apple Mail Client not saving server settings for iCloud?

I am trying to add my iCloud email to the Apple mail client.
As I work through the wizard to setup all the necessary entries inclduing the for the Incoming and outgoing mail settings but when the account is finally created in the
Mail client, the incoming mail server settings are not set and the box they are shown in is not available for editing.
The mail client vs is 6.6
I have tried this several times with the same end result, any help appreciated????

You don't manually add your iCloud email account using Mountain Lion.  Instead, go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign into your iCloud account and check Mail.  This will automatically add the account with the proper settings.
