Dear Brody:I turned on my computer this morning but when I connected to Outlook Express it asked for my password (which is saved on my computer) so I usually don't get this mesage. When I entered password the message returned. The problem reads:Jan 22 2014 There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'Dot Lewis', Server: 'mail.bigpond.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR invalid user name or password.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92 I have now tried to access mail on my labtop and get the same response.I have not changed any settings. Have Telstra changed something? Funnily enough I can access webmail (for the moment!!!) and I was able to send a test message in Outlook Express which was unexpected.Can you help?ThanksDotPS I did a Malwarebytes complete scan of my desktop computer but nothing was found.CheersD

Currently I am developing a small system that sends emails out to a large number of subscribers, using JavaMail. How can I avoid the mail server send back undeliverable emails for the invalid email addresses?
Please kindly give me some advice. Thanks in advance.

You cannot avoid that. Some of them will produce "bounce" messages -- you have seen them I am sure. You may wish to look at those bounce messages and remove the subscribers whose addresses do not work. But it is really up to you what you decide to do with them.

I had this working in Server 2.0 dunno why it doesn't now, but I can't find the config.

It's fairly straight forward and there is a GUI option to help you.
In the Server app, go to Users. Select the User you want to create email aliases for. Right click, or hold down Shift-Ctrl and click on the name. Select 'Advanced Options...' from the menu. You can then enter as many aliases as you want in the 'Aliases'.
For example: [email protected], @xyz.co.uk, [email protected]
My example is overkill as I only really needed to add '@xyz.co.uk' as a catch all get everything sent to that domain delivered to that users email address.

I am receiving numerous junk mail from random senders with names that appear to be random generated. How can I stop it?

The senders names appear to be random generated so I can't block one name. I am getting 10 to 20 per day. How vcan I stop it?

Return receipt plug in for Mac Mail software?

Return receipt for Mac OSX 10.4.6 build in email software “Mail” 2.0.7 (746.2/749.3) 2005 Apple Inc.
Is there a return receipt plug in for Mac Mail software? I want to know if my sent mail was received and know if the mail was opened.

in general not a good idea. This may cause loops with Out-of-Office responders and also not a very trustworthy confirmation.
Options are to use certified email servers as an intermediate (google to find many) or to request explicitly a written reply from the recipient.

Email Event Generator - Error

Hi,
I am facing a problem in reading the email and its attachments. Basically I get excel attachments from a third party and some message in the body of the mail. I need to read the email body in the jpd ( process ) and archive the attachments of the mail in a location . To achieve this I use the email event generator to archive the attachments and to call a process to read the body of the mail.
Steps I followed -
1. Created a mail account with my name on the mail server.
2. Created a new email event genertor with all the required parameters in WLI console. configurations being
Server Protocol POP3
Channel Name /EmailEventProcess/SampleStringChannel
Hostname ABC.ENERGY.LOCAL
Port Number 25
Username TestSS
Password ********
Attachments Archive
Polling Interval 1 min
Read Limit 10

3. created a channel in the project in weblogic workshop -

I tried printing out the testString , but i get some strange error.. below is the error -

Why is mac mail so myopic regarding contact emails?

i would very much like to organize all my contacts which i am doing very slowly with software called Cardscan that lets me scan and sort my business cards. i also have a personally oriented database in my Mac Contacts (Mountain Lion)/Mac Address Book (Lion).
i /think/ at this point that i have decided to keep all the business contacts in Cardscan and all the personal contacts in Mac Contacts by /exporting/(!) data from one database to the other.
however, does anyone know why Previous Recipients is so darn hinky or how to work around its very obvious limitations? i mean, right now i have a monster list in Previous Recipients on my Mac Pro that representes personal and business email addresses that i have either added to Mac Contacts or NOT added to Mac Contacts. and i also have a Previous Recipients list on my Mac Book Pro that represents the same kind of data.
this of course means that Mac Mail will autocomplete with different information depending on whether i am using my iPhone my Mac Pro or my MacBookPro which is a major drag since if it DOESN'T autocomplete i have to go searching through my IMAP mail to find the persons emails in order to copy and paste this address into an email.
is there some way to SENSIBLY have this information accessible on all my devices (iPhone, Mac Pro and MBP)??!! i mean, can i somehow create a database of this information and have it accessible?
i tried to tackle this at some point when someone wrote a SCRIPT that automatically dumped all the Previous Recipients into a folder "Previous Recipients on my Mac Pro" and "Previous Recipients on my MBP" which each existed in my Mac Contacts database but i have been working so hard to clean up other aspects of my contacts (i.e. business cards in cardscan and how this database relates to the Mac Contacts database) that i cannot remember if simply running this script again will give me some kind of moderate fix for this.
i mean, this means that ALL the addresses in each of the Previous Recipients databases now clutter up my All Contacts section of Contacts and i can't remember if this is a small price to pay to have email addresses accessible when i travel...
anyway, any good suggestions on this would be really welcome because every time i post on this problem i feel like also saying:
bueller, bueller, bueller...?

Gmail is not updating in my Lion Mail software. Are there settings I should check to determine why??

About one week ago, the Mail software program on my iMac (running Lion 10.7.3) stopped updating my email from my Gmail account. I didn't knowingly change any settings, either on Gmail or on Mail. The Gmail updates as expected on both my iPhone and my iPad.
Does anyone have suggestions for settings I might check (or actions I might undertake) to resolve this?

It does have the online/offline option. It's online. I've switched it on and off and on (multiple times in the past, trying to get it started again) and recreated a duplicate mailbox (which only exhibits the same behavior... able to send email but not able to download received emails).
Gmail is set up as IMAP.
The mailboxes at the bottom of the sidebar are...

Can not pdf file reader, word e-mail software

Only when I get mail with an attachment of pdf, word, I did not open and see the beginning of the file

We cannot receive mail messages in Mail unless we quit and re-open the mail software. Help please

We have tourble with our Mail software. It does not receive e-mail sent to it immidiately. We have to quit Mail and re-open it and then click on "get mail" othwise it takes un unknown amount of time to download messages.

I've had it take hours to receive an eMail I sent to myself with nothing but one line of text, depends how many times it has to go around the world to find a server path to me.
Open Network Utility>Traceroute tab, try like smtp.gmail.com except yours in that, how many steps & time does it take?

Cannot send mail with mobile mail software

I have been trying to send mail with my mobile mail software on my AOL account and my mail won't got through, But when I click on my mobile web and access my AOL email that way it allows me to send mail with no problem. The problem started today, I have an lg env3 and the latest software version of the mobile mail.

From working with other customers, the best thing to do would be to remove the email account entirely from the Mobile Email program and re-add it. If the issue persists, remove the Mobile Email application altogether and redownload it. If it still persists even after that and all other data services are working such as the browser, My Verizon, etc. call AOL Mobile Support at 866-265-3019.

Period of Java's random generator

Hi.
I am trying to find out how long period the java generator has. I havent been able to find this info anywhere, even though I searched paper indexes, google, java.sun etc.
It looks like the random generator uses 2^48 for modulus. And I read somewhere that the multiplier is 0x5DEECE66DL, but this info is unsure. I don't know the increment factor either. With this info it would be possible to calculate the period, if it is not given.
I would appreciate any information about this.

Getting Undeliverable Email when Sending Calendar Event

My CEO bought a new iPhone and I have it working with our Exchange 2003 email server and Outlook 2007. The only problem he has is when he sends a calendar event it sends an undeliverable email. The strange thing is the event shows in his Outlook calendar.
The full undeliverable email is:

Based on the error message, I think it's a permission issue.
It seems the user who is trying to send the message does not have "Send on Behalf" permissions or "Send As" permissions to the mailbox. Please confirm this, grant the user the proper permission if he doesn't have it.
Set the user as a delegate automatically receives "Send on Behalf" permissions. For example, to designate a user as the delegate in Outlook 2010, follow these steps:
Click the File tab, click Account Settings, and then click
Delegate Access.
In the Delegates dialog box, click Add.
Type the name of the person whom you want to designate as your delegate, or search for and then click the name in the search results list.
Note The delegate must be a person in the Microsoft Exchange global address list (GAL).
Click Add, and then click OK.
In the Delegate Permissions dialog box, accept the default permissions settings or select custom access levels for Exchange folders.
To send a message to notify the delegate of the changed permissions, click to select the
Automatically send a message to delegate summarizing these permissions check box.
If you want to grant additional permissions for the delegate to view private items, click to select the
Delegate can see my private items check box.
Click OK two times.
If the user needs the "send as" permission, you may need to do it on Exchange. If you have any questions about granting the user "send as" permission, you can post a question in Exchange forum:
