Mail startup crash.

Question

Hi, I've been having problems with Mail in V10.7.2. It appears to immediately crash upon startup - and I'm not entirely sure why.
I've deleted ~/Library/Mail
I've deleted ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist (+lockfile)
So, it's a bit like setting things up for the first time.....
I enter my account details and within about 5 seconds of entering them all, it crashes.
I can't open the "Preferences" part of mail at all.
I've tried restoring old settings from a time-machine backup - no joy. In short, it's a bit like Mail is totally broken, even if completely set up from scratch. I guess this means the mbox files and plist files (that I'm aware of) can't be at fault, as they're newly created.
I've checked permissions - all is fine. No errors.
I'm not entirely sure what to do next - any ideas? The rest of the OS is just fine.  It only seems to have started doing this since Sunday, and I'm uber-up-to-date with all my patches, so there's nothing to install.
Crashlog can be attached on request. Might be worth mentioning that it's an IMAP account.

Solved myself.
I used Cocktail to clear system/user caches and that seemed to clear the problem up. Reimported my mail back in without a problem.
