Mail startup disc for MacBook

I have a problem with Mail and AppleCare asked me to get the Mail disc so we can re-install it to correct the prob. But....we've been packed away in boxes because of a disaster in the house and I'm not sure where all disks are. I've found only 2 disks. One is Mac OSX Install Disc 1 and the other is
Mac OSX Install Disc 2. Is there an individual disk for the Mail, or is it a part of this? I'm supposed to call him back when I find it, but I want to know what I should have in my hand before I call.
Anyone help me, please?

I lost my startup disc for a hp722c. Is there somewhere I could get a replacement?  thanks

    Hello 2boot.
Currently, there's nowhere you can get a replacement for the driver CD. You can download drivers from the hp web site. From this link, you can select your operating system and download a driver for your computer.

  • I need the startup discs for a G5, where do I get them?

We purchased an older G5 and do not have the discs that came with it. My MacBook Pro is to advanced. Help. We can only use it in Safe Mode right now....

    Call AppleCare.
    That said:
    1. If they can give you the original discs, that's ideal if you need access to Mac OS 9 applications 9 (pre-2001).
    2. If they can give you the equivalent of Mac OS X 10.5 retail, you can upgrade to 10.5.8 combo, and that's the end of the line for that machine.  The 10.5 discs that come with another Mac will not work with the machine.
    3. Make sure they don't try to give you discs for another Mac.  Read the serial number off the foot of the machine to help them, or at least the EMC#.

  • STARTUP KEY FOR MACBOOK PRO 15INCH DUO CORE

I NEED TO KNOW STARTUP KEY  FOR REINSTALL BACKUP FROM FLASH DISK?

    Hello EMMANUEL JOHN
When you power on your MacBook Pro, hold the Option key and you should get the Startup Manager that will show you anything that is bootable. All you have to do is select the start up drive and you are good to go.

  • How to find system discs for Macbook Pro

I seem to have misplaced my Macbook Pro 3,1 system discs. I think I may have left them in the box, then got rid of the box. Is there anyway I can get another copy of the discs, or download them from the Apple site?
The Machine came with 10.4.8 I have a Tiger Retail disc, but it only seems to work on PPC machines. I need to reinstall the system software, as when the machine starts up it keeps saying some system files are missing and need to be re-installed.
Any help will be much appreciated

You can get replacement System Install & Restore CD/DVDs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available.
If you're not in the US, you may need to go through the regional Apple Store that serves your location to find the contact number. Here's a list of links to all of those -

  • Bigger hard disc for Macbook

How big a hard disc can I put into my Macbook as I am thinking of adding parrallels to run Win XP as there are some programmes such as form typer in paperport 9 that I cannot run on the Macbook. I figured to have the biggest disc I could get so as to max out both Mac OSX and XP

For now the form factor 2.5" with sata interface available was 160 GB for the biggest.
There is several brand and there comes with 5400 rpm and 7200 rpm (but don't bother that much if you are in no need for fast access or streaming data.

for further instruction, also you need torx screw #.8 for switching the HD bracket.
    Good Luck.

  • Replacement disc for macbook

I recently got a macbook (late 2007 model) but it came with the wrong system discs.  I know they are very specific.  I found ones for an early 2008 on ebay but those probably won't work.  But they had part numbers or serial/version numbers on them.  How do I find the numbers for my macbook so I know I'm getting the right ones?  Should be 10.5

  • Making a USB install disc for macbook air using a windows PC!

Ok i have an iMac and a macbook air, so this guide here seems good for me right?
How to Create a Mac Snow Leopard USB Installer Disk
The problem I've got is that my iMac superdrive is skewed, it just won't read anything (disc is new etc but the drive won't work with pretty much ANY disc at all, and i mean any, just spits them out after a few seconds of trying to read it).
Anyways, can this process as described in the URL above be done using a windows based pc? i also have one as a media centre in my room and it has a working dvd drive..... if so what do i need to do? this is driving me insane! i cannot afford an external superdrive or any other external drives at the moment nor is the iMac in warranty and nor do i have the ability to take it anywhere.

Its a long one to explain but the superdrive in the imac works when it wants, and fortuantly last time it worked with the OSX disc that came with the imac! amazing, i made the usb installer and then when booted with macbook air it stated it cannot be installed. I did a little digging and discovered that it was because the imac came with one of those grey OEM discs and are not able to transpose to another machine at all, this is officially from apple and what others have used, hence my need to then get a full snow leopord disc.
The disc however unlike the other OSX grey one will not read at all
also what i mean is can i use the drive from the windows machine to make the usb install disc not using windows itself....?

  • New Hard Disc for Macbook

I have a Macbook with 60 gb hard drive. I feel that this is less, do i am thinking of putting in a new hard drive. Where do I buy one?
any suggestions? any precautions? I was looking at Apple's website but could not find anything.....

I would suggest a 160GB drive for your MB, it's a pretty basic size with plenty of room to grow. Oh, and be sure you get a drive with an 8MB cache. There is only space for one drive, though. I would suggest using something like Carbon Copy Cloner (http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html - free and easy to use) to transfer your files, settings, etc. to your new HD. (You will need to put the drive in a USB or FireWire enclosure to do this.) If you use this, make sure to select "Make Bootable" in the CCC prefs - that's pretty vital

  • Startup Disk for MacBook Pro with OS X Pre-installed

I have a 15" MacBook Pro with Intel Core Duo. I am running OS X 10.4.8.
Since OS X is preinstalled, how do I get a startup disk, in case I need to reinstall the OS? I have a Tiger 10.4 disk, but can't use it as a start up disk, I assume because of the Intel issue.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks...

  • Purchasing Restore discs for Macbook Pro

I recently purchased a 1.83ghz Macbook Pro from a friend. The system works great. The only problem is, he lost the orginal reinstall discs. Other than ebay, cna it be purchased from Apple without gettinh "hit in the head" price wise. I've seen some unused reinstall discs on ebay, but they were more recent macbook pros'. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Buying the Tiger pack from the Store is your best bet really ...
No, it is not. Retail Tiger is PPC only.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Contact Apple and explain the situation.

  • Startup software for Macbook

We just received our Macbook after spending $1,000 for repairs.  It is one year old.  It was sent back to the local store from Louisville, yet it cannot be used until the original software is re-installed.  We do not have the original software and after spending $1,000.00 for repairs it seems as though it should be ready to use.  Why can't Best Buy reinstall the software since they took it out?

This comment also applies to your other post on this subject. It is not best buy or apples fault if you lost or did not keep the software that came with your 1 year old computer. This is the exact reason it was in there. Still have the restore disk from my 10 year old Compaq.
I am sure Apple can send it to you though if you call them. I know my mom needed all the software for her Acer laptop and they sent it all to her for like 10 bucks. And I am not even sure you can buy Apples operating system retail? Maybe you can and I have just never seen because I have never looked for it.

  • Using iPod classic (or any iPod) as OSX startup disc?

    hi there
does anybody know whether it is possible to use an iPod classic (i have the 160GB) as a startup disc (emergency startup disc) for any mac computer (ie. mac mini or MBP)?
i already use an external 500 GB disc via USB, which works well, though very very slow. so i thought this should work with an iPod too, once activating the "use as volume" option. true?
    thanks and cheers
    george

    hi niel
thanks for your post. clear. i was actually less thinking about running a mac then from the iPod but just having a better option (with some own system settings) than just a startup CD in case of troubles.
i don't really get though why this should overheat the iPod as when you use it as simple sound player it is also accessing the hard disk constantly. don't see much difference there. however, i have no warranty left and my previous iPod died a few weeks after the warranty expired. murphy's law.
right now i am using the USB 500GB external hard drive as startup disk with a new mac mini because my MPB is broken and i had to send it to repair, so the easiest way which would allow me to use all my data (and the HD in the MBP is a 500 GB, but in the mac mini only 320) was to take the original HD out of the MBP and purchase a case and this way i can use it from any mac. i purchased another 500GB disk and copied all the data on it and placed it in the MBP before i sent it to fix. the problem is most likely hard ware related and i hope to get it back soon to be able to work with speed again...
by the way, the original MBP hard disk which i use now as an external gets way less hot now than it used to be when in the MBP.
this just to explain you why i always like to have one more copy of my settings somewhere and ideally as a startup drive, and since my iPod is not full...
thanks again for your post. highly appreciated.
    cheers
    george

  • Replacing StartUp discs?

It's a simple enough question, is it possible to buy replacement startup discs for the G4? I can't seem to find mine anywhere and I am therefore unable to do disc partitions etc.
Unless I can do this with my Tiger installation disc?

You can order replacement disks from Apple. You can also use your Tiger install disk >> Disk Utility to partition.
