Mail stuck in the Mail Queue

For reasons I have not yet understood, my 10.5.2 mailserver stopped delivering mail. After a few restarts it is now running again but;
All the mail that arrived while it was stopped is now stuck in the Mail Queue. How can I get it to deliver thisstuck mail?

If they can't get to the content filter on the first try, maybe it's overloaded? How busy is your machine?
It's a new installation of Leopard Server on an internal drive, the CPU navigate from 0 to 20% so it's not here. I used spamtrainer to import the database from the old drive (Tiger Server) and the mail store is on a RAID disk so I just had to change the default mail location in the right pane. I just restarted the server on the Tiger Server disk and everything is fine there.
Requeuing does not start the content filter, so if it were off, it'd still be off. So since it is running, it look like it can't keep up.
Sorry, I do my best to be understandable :->
I just made tries to see if mails would be delivered once the spam and virus filter is off and saw that mails were not delivered at all.
Is this the normal behavior ?
This problem of the content filter is probably linked to what I said in another thread.
I cannot uncheck "Attach subject tag" in Server Admin. If I uncheck the spam filter and virus filter then mails are not delivered too.
I doubt it is linked (unless you "play" with Server Admin while troubleshooting the queue). As I mentioned above, amavisd, doesn't run just "a bit".
You can always change the amavisd and postfix settings yourself.
If I knew what to change and where I probably would do it :->
I'm just scared about how many things don't work as expected once Leopard Server is installed.
Lot of problems with SMB too and as we have only one machine here I must reboot the server on Tiger if I don't want everybody here to kill me :->>
Maybe some files cannot be read/write...
If it was a permission issue, requeued mail would still hit the same issues.
Yes... I thought about that.
Do you think that it could help to download the 10.5.2 combo update and to reinstall it ?
Doubt it, but it probably won't hurt.
Will try it as soon as I can reboot the server on Leopard. I seems that someone will not leave the office like others will do today
Thanks for your help.

  • Messages still stuck in the Inbound queue SMQ2

    Hello XI Gurus,
All my messages with "READY" status are still stuck in the inbound queue (smq2) for the last 2 hours...there was no SYSFAIL error messages or scheduled background running. I have to manually go in and executed each of those messages, instead of automatically process it. Could someone please tell me how to troubleshoot this?
    Thanks so much in advanced,
    Dng

Implement SAP note 758677 for this. This exactly deals with your issue.
This Basically speaks about scheduling 'RSQIWKEX' for inbound and 'RSQOWKEX' for outbound queues.
Also, you need to set the parameter 'QRFC_Restart_ALLOWED' to '1' in the transaction 'SXMB_ADM' -> Integration engine. Its in the runtime dropdown menu.
Note : without this parameter being set this will not work.
    Thanks,

  • Hp C310 e all in one. Print that is stuck in the print queue, cancel does not remove

hp C310 e all in one. I have a print that is stuck in the print queue, cancel does not remove says deleting. I have tried shutting down printer, closing word doc, multiple canel all prints. Any Ideas

    Hello mackice,
Try these steps below to clear the print queue. The steps are listed for Vista and Windows 7 and would be slightly different for XP. If you are using a Mac then the steps below would not work. Please advise what OS you are using.
    Option 1)
    1. Click on start orb
    2. Type in search window: "services.msc" (without the quotes)
    3. click ok
    4. Scroll down to Printer spooler service and click on it in the right side window.
    5. On the left side click stop the service and wait forthe process to stop
(Do not close the window yet. You will have to restart it here later.)
    6. next delete the print job in the printer queue
    7. then restart the spooler service
    8. Resubmit your new print job.
    Option 2)
If that doesn't clear it, the next step would be to stop the spooler
    service as stated above
    Go into windows explorer
(Print job data is collected and stored in a spool file in the spooler
    folder.)
    It is located in:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS
Your print job will show 2 files there Example below:
    00002.SHD
    00002.SPL
Delete the files located in there. There may be several of them
depending apon how many print jobs you submitted. You will have to
resubmit your print jobs all over again.
Next go back to services window and restart the spooler service

  • Print Jobs are Stuck in the Print Queue

This has been going on for way too long.  It's been happening with Windows 7. It happens with HP Laser jet 500 Pro color Printer.
Print jobs won't print; but, when you try to delete the print job, it just stays there.    Cancel
    does nothing.  Delete
    does nothing.    Stopping
the spool via services does nothing. Powering
off the printer then re-powering does nothing.  Rebooting
does nothing.    After everything...still...."1 document pending".   It won't go away.  The only way to fix it is to
delete the printer and re-install.   This is getting really flipping' old!
I have tried print spooler services stop and start. after that its works but some printing
its stuck again. very fedup about it.  i am using Microsoft windows original software. please help me out on it.

  • Mails are stuck in the outbox after an offline period

    Hi!
I am often writing e-mail while I'm offline, e.g. on planes, buses etc.
Then when I get back online I kinda expect the Mail App to send these mails instantly. However it does not do that. The mails are stuck in the outbox for up to 15-20 minutes after I get back online. The e-mails I have received while being offline are downloaded instantly as they should be. And if I then write new e-mails after getting back online they just get stuck in the same queue together with the other stuck e-mails.
Is there a fix for this? Do you experience the same? It is really annoying and making wonder if I should get another Mail App.
I have just installed the new Yosemite and I was hoping it had fixed the problem. But it hasn't...
I am working on a MacBook Pro 2013.
    Thanks!

iOS does not run on MacBook Pros.
Drag the message to Draft mailbox and ensure the recipient is correctly addressed and send.

  • Outgoing mail queue fills with spam

I remember reading about how to fix this before - but cannot find the details now.
I have a server that is trying to send mail to non existant domains or non existant e-mail addressed. the mail is not originating from clients.
Typical entry in the mail queue is
    Message ID: 60D7987570
    Date: Thu Aug 17 06:18:36
    Size: 34446
    Sender: MAILER-DAEMON

how can I sent the mail server up to just ditch this stuff in the first place.
    Tim

Here is an extract from the logs. I think I understand this now and it works as it should - but perhaps you could confirm.
This message is clearly not stuck in the outgoing queue. From what I can see mail is received from a backup mail relay for a non existent user on this server. When we try to reject it back to sender, if the sender rejects with 550 we bin it.
I guess the problem is what to do when the receiving mail server fails to respond? I think eventually it times out and we delete the message. Is that correct?

  • Messages stuck in the queue... how do I make them to be processed again?

    Hi,
I'm new to SAP PI and kinda confused with queues.
I have file -> bpm -> file scenario and there was an error in mapping within bpm process.
When I went to qRFC Monitor (smq2), I see that in XBQO$PE_WS90000002 queue,
there's an error, 'Permanent error in BPE inbound processing'... which is expected.
Now, I run the interface scenario again several times but they don't get processed
but stuck in the same queue. At this stage, I didn't know what to do...
I thought by deleting the error message, other messages will be processed...
I deleted the error message but the other messages are still in the queue...
    I have two questoins.
    1. What is the best way to handle an error in the queue... can I just delete it? or is there a better way to handle an error in the queue?
    2. After deleting the queue, what should I do to make the other messages to be processed again...
    Thank you.

    Hi Won,
There are programs for restarting the LUW entries:
    programs
    · RSARFCRD: tRFC Monitor (transaction SM58)
    · RSARFCSE: Restart an LUW (background job)
    · RSARFCEX: Restart tRFC LUWs (background job)
    · RSQOWKEX: Restart QOUT qRFC LUWs
    · RSQIWKEX: Restart QIN qRFC LUWs
    · RSARFCSE: Delete an LUW (background job)
    · RSARFCER: Delete various LUWs

  • HELP! Mail stuck in the queue.

    Hey All,
We just noticed that none of us here recieved any mail today and that all of our messages incoming/outgoing have been stuck in the queue all day.
We seem to be able to view old messages with our mail clients as well as any folders. But any new messages that we send or recieve just go to the server and sit there.
It's quite puzzeling because we haven't changed anything on it, the server has just been quietly humming along for a while now.
However, this seems to have started happening after we restarted the box this morning because a web app we were building on it ended up in an infinite loop.
I tried re-starting the box, restarting the mail service, resending the queue and nothing, messages hit the queue and fail to be delivered to mailboxes.
Looking at my logs I saw this:
Nov 9 16:56:28 resserver imap[4733]: DBERROR: critical database situation
Nov 9 17:00:07 resserver imap[4833]: DBERROR: critical database situation
Nov 9 17:15:56 resserver reconstruct[5700]: DBERROR: critical database situation
Nov 9 17:16:02 resserver reconstruct[5726]: DBERROR: critical database situation
In the queue some messages say this at the end:
host 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1] said: 421 4.3.2 Service shutting down, closing channel (in reply to end of DATA command
Looking in my resources and in other places on the forums I've tried the following so far in hopes to narrow down and fix the problem:
    - rebuilt with mailbfr (as per petrobytes suggestion with someone else)
    - turned on and off content filtering
    - confirmed that the machine has the same IP
    - confirmed that it resolves forward and backward to it's hostname/IP
I can post any conf files you need, I'm desperate to get this fixed! Any help or insight anyone could provide would be well appreciated!
eMac, iBook, iMac, xServe, PowerBook   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I'm noticing some interesting stuff happening in the logs can someone make sense of this?

  • Stuck in the Mail Queue

We lost our internet connection yesterday for over 12 hours. It is back on now and the mailserver is working fine BUT...
    a) Nothing has arrived from the time we were out ie: I have everything prior to the lost connection and everything since, but nothing from the lost 12 hours. It is like it never existed!
    b) I have a group in emails that are stuck fast in the mailserver queue (Server Admin, Mail, Maintenance, Mail Queue). I can delete some that I know to be spam but when I click 'Retry' nothing happens
    Any ideas?
    (Server 10.5.2)

    Open terminal and issue:
    sudo postsuper -r ALL
(Give it time and don't force the queue continuously. If it doesn't start sending after a few minutes, check /var/log/mail.log for clues)

  • Public folders stuck in Mail queue when replicating to Exchange 2010

This last weekend I installed Exchange 2010. Moved everyone over the same night to the new server. Mail flows in and out in ex 2010. The problem is I can't get the Public folders to replicate across. At the same time I found I can't send mail between the
two exchange servers. In the message Queue on the Ex 2007 box I see the public folders are just sitting there waiting to be sent but stuck. Along with my test emails.
I found an artical that talks about going into ADSIEdit and delete the old exchange 2003 empty server folder. Did that and email is still not flowing.
Servers are in the same AD same subnet. ex 2007 is installed on a 2003 box. ex 2010 is on 2008r2.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi vasdavidson,
For this issue, I suggest you follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem:
    1.
Please paste the exact error you got in queue viewer.
    2.
On Exchange 2007, (use telnet) send emails to Exchange 2010, then check whether it can receive email or not.
    Thanks,
    Evan

  • IIS 6.0 - so many mails stuck in mail queue

    Hi All,
From past 2 days, so many mails are getting stuck in mail queue folder. Normally, when there are more than 20 mails in queue, we used to restart SMTP and the queue gets cleared immediately. But , now the situation has changed. When we restart SMTP to clear
mails in queue, they keep on increasing, say from 20 to 100 and then after 1 hour or so, the number goes to 20-25 and again increasing. We have not changed anything, but dnt know why this is happening suddenly from past 2 days. Users also are complaining that
they are getting notification mails very late. The mails are not getting send and just staying in queue for a long time. I checked in SMTP log and found " OutboundConnectionResponse SMTPSVC1 E-SALES - 25 - - 421-4.7.0+[203.170.190.51++++++15]+Our+system+has+detected"+an+unusual+rate+of
    0 0 77 0 17891 SMTP - - - -"
Kindly help and Please let me know if you need more information.
    Thank you,
    Phani.

    Hi Darin,
Thank you for your reply. We dont have Azure.
Actually, we have an e-payment website and when users made transactions, the notification mails go to users. We are using IIS web server v6.0 for this whole set up and SMTP is also configured in this. Basically, I am programmer and this is not my work domain.
I am taking care of this server for time being and don't have much information/idea. Today, I observed the mails in queue are processing normally, but we did not change anything. What could be the reason for long mail queue for previous 2 days? can you throw
    some light on this? :)
    Thank you.
    hi,
It seems like this issue may be not related to azure . I suggest you could post this issue into IIS forum or Window server General forum
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/home?forum=winservergen for more helps.

  • My gmail account is no longer available on my iPad 2 in the mail queue at the bottom. How can I reset it?

This morning when I opened my iPad to check my email, the mail queue at the bottom was blank when I opened it. Upon further tries of trying to reset, it keeps telling me it can verify and that if I save the info submitted, it may not be available to me. How do I go back to yesterday when it worked?

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Does it go through properly this time?

  • What to do with mail stuck in mail queue?

I think i have my web and e-mail server running fine, all mail from the users is coming and going as should. But I have to delete the mail queue every two days or so because it is filling up with junk mail to unknown senders and users. I think everting is setup correct and I do not have an open relay, but is there some way I can have it delete the junk mail in this queue by itself?

Most likely you have postfix configured to accept any mail. Being for known or unknown users. Thus, mail for unknown users (mostly spam) gets only bounced at a later stage (cyrus/IMAP), which in turn creates those pesky Mailer-Daemon messages in your queue.
Being spam, there is usually no proper return address, so those messages stay in your queue, until they expire after 5 days (default value).

  • Mail Stuck in Mail Queue

This weekend, I did a clean install on my Apple OS X server (the upgrade from 10.3 to 10.4 introduced some weird behavior, so I wanted to do a clean install 10.4 --> 10.4 to clear out the problems). I used mailbfr to backup my imap datebase and I exported my users and groups from Workgroup Manager.
I then did the clean install. After applying the software updates and repairing permissions, I used Workgroup Manager to import the old groups and users. Then, I applied all of the old passwords to the user accounts.
I then used mailbfr to restore the old mail.
At this point, all of the old mail (backed up by mailbfr) is apprearing fine in the client mail applications, but all new mail is going to the mail queue and is just sitting there. I've tried "sudo postsuper -r ALL" and that just re-queues the mail.
    A typical SMTP message reads:
    Jul 22 22:11:36 mail postfix/qmgr[303]: 979324F446: from=<[email protected]>, size=1750, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
    Jul 22 22:11:36 mail postfix/qmgr[303]: 979324F446: to=<[email protected]>, relay=none, delay=267, status=deferred (delivery temporarily suspended: transport is unavailable)
For the same message the Mail Queue offers the following detail information:
    Message ID: 4388A4F41B
    Date: Sat Jul 22 22:18:50
    Size: 1892
    Sender: [email protected]
    Recipient(s) & Status:
    [email protected]:
delivery temporarily suspended: transport is unavailable
Do you have any of you have ideas as to how I might fix this problem?

Well ... a big fat nevermind. Sorry about that. I stopped and restarted the server after posting this, and mail started receiving just fine and the queue cleared itself.
    All seems well.
