This hasn't been an issue with a Blackberry because a Blackberry does not use ActiveSync. RIMM has a dedicated email delivery service called Blackberry Enterprise Service (BIS) for an Exchange Server which must be installed on the Exchange Server and costs money.
ActiveSync is a Microsoft product, which Apple has licensed from Microsoft for the iPhone, and which they will include with Snow Leopard. ActiveSync is included with Microsoft with Exchange Server software and doesn't cost a company anything extra. ActiveSync must be enabled at the Exchange server by someone other than yourself or by any employee - by your company's IT Dept. ActiveSync can be enabled for all employees company wide, or it can be enabled/disabled by individual employees.

  • ICloud emails sent from apple mail or iPhone 3gs never arrives, works fine when sent from iCloud website

The ony place I have been able to send and receive email since the launch of iCloud has been the icloud website. I wasn't able to send email from my iphone 3gs or apple mail at all until today, now it finally appears to let me send email but it never arrives to its destination.
I can send an email from the icloud website without issue, and email sent from my icloud account using my iphone 3gs and apple mail seems to send fine and without error but who knows where it goes.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
    Thanks!
    Charles

I figured out how to fix it... if anyone else has this problem, go to Outlook > Preferences > Accounts > select the IMAP account > Advanced > Folders and for "Store Sent Messages in this Folder:" select "Sent Messages (Server)."

  • Cannot get Mail of Iphone 3GS

I cannot get mail from gmail. Message states Imap.gmail.com not responding. I have tried re-typing the password but have not been able to get any mail for 8 days now. I am worried about deleting account and re-entering as I have three different email addresses coming into the one gmail account and originally had it set up for me by 02. Never had any problems in the 20 months I have had the iphone until now. Only wish that I had an Apple store in my area - Blackburn.

are you sure of the setting of the outgoing server ? Give a call to the service provider and ask for the right settings

  • Mail contacts iPhone 3gs

Hello, i need help with my mail contacts. Each time a put a letter in "compose to" a email comes up I wanted to know how to delete or a way so when I type in a letter and the email won't be there anymore. Can anyone help me please?

The iPhone's Mail application stores all message recipients in a list of previous recipients. The address autofill feature when composing a message pulls from the address book and from the list of previous recipients.
At the present time there is no way to access the list of previous recipients to add a previous recipient to the address book that is not already entered, or remove a previous recipient from the list as is available with the Mail.app on as Mac - not at the present time anyway.
The only way to purge the current list is a complete purge which requires restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup. The list of previous recipients is included with your iPhone's backup so restoring from the backup will also restore the list of previous recipients.
A guess you don't care about receiving spam since you are using your email address as your alias here, which makes it available to spam bots scanning the internet for published email addresses.

  • Sending mail from iphone 3gs

I have connected gmail & Hotmail account to my phone. But I can only dowload messages. I cannot see any link or Compose button on my accont. Please advice me how to send mails from these accounts.

I have experienced the same problems. I could receive but not send email through a third party email. Our ISP is BT and it would appear even though they wont admit it that they have changed some peoples settings.
I spoke with my email provider 123-reg and they asked me to check my ISP and then check the SPAMHAUS and our ISP has been Blocklisted. I called BT and they wouldnt answer why this had happened.
To cut a long story short I have had to pay BT £30 (not happy) to resolve the problem. They set my SMTP details as mail.btinternet.com and i had to authenticate this by logging into a BT/Yahoo email account that we never use., go to options then mail options then mail accounts and add details for the account your having problems with. You should then receive an email link on your third party email address.
I have actually complained to OFCOM about this as I dont believe that I should have to pay to rectify a problem that I havent caused. All BT would say is that they fixed the problem and I have to pay the £30. they wouldnt answer why I couldnt send emails prior to this fix. I asked why I now have to have the SMTP as mail.btinternet.com and again they couldnt answer this.
    I hope this helps

  • COX Mail setup for Iphone 3GS

Has any set up mail on Iphone 3GS with a COX account with success. Wireless carrier is AT&T. If so I sure could use some help!!
    Thanks

I tried to follow these instructions for connecting my iPhone 3GS to my Cox email account (the East region) with this page from Cox:
    http://support.cox.com/sdccommon/asp/contentredirect.asp?sprt_cid=158115c0-571b- 4cad-a21d-28e74c663906
I could not get incoming or outgoing mail to work as shown in the article; although I could save the settings, when I tried to access the mailbox I got "failure to connect" error messages.
Just for kicks, instead of entering my full email address for the *incoming mail server* and *outgoing mail server* settings (e.g. [email protected]) as the Cox article displays, I entered my email address without the @ symbol and domain, just joeblow for both of those settings.
Eureka, that worked. I found that it worked being connected to my home wifi, and when connected without wifi over the regular cellular network and the 3G network.
So far, so good. I'll keep trying this for a day or two, and if it still works I'll post full instructions and also provide a comment to Cox so they can provide this suggestion as well. I'm sure these settings worked for Cox at one time, so I'm not sure why they didn't seem to work for me.

  • My iPhone 3GS mail app not pushing gmail

My iPhone 3GS is not receiving push mail, nor can it send anything, through my gmail account. All other mail accounts work, but gmail stopped sending and receiving 4 days ago for no apparent reason. I've restarted, deleted and created a new gmail account on my iphone but nothing works.
It is functioning correctly on my iPad.

Log into your gmail account on a computer and verify that it's not security locked.

  • My iPhone 3GS wont open Apps or e-mail and I cannot MMS pictures from my camera

My iPhone 3Gs has stopped opening my App Store application and iTunes application.  When I open the camera and try to MMS a picture it returns to the home page.  When I open my e-mail it will show me the inbox page but when I try to open a specific e-mail it takes me back to the home page.  I have tried to uninstall applications and re-install them.  I have also done a restore on my phone.  Still have the same problems.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Was your restore from backup or as new?  Restoring from backup can restore the same corrupt software over and over again.   Restore as new.

  • I upgraded to Mt. Lion and now I have duplicates in notes and contacts on my iPhone 3gs. Is this a sync issue? I have 4 e-mail accounts and the iCloud is one of them.

Maybe my title says to much. I have multple contacts, notes, sometimes just two, sometimes 14. I upgraded to Mt. Lion and that may be an issue or maybe syncing is the issue. It is making me crazy/er! I have 4 e-mail contact lists and that may be part of the issue with e-mail but why duplicate notes? I am stumped. Please give your thoughts for a solution. I have deleted the duplicates from iPhone (3gs, iMac, and iPad2).
    Thanks,
    Jim

I forgot to say that the duplicate entries return after I have deleted them. Strange to me is why do some contacts show up as many as 14 times. I am suspecting that there could be an issue with iCloud or iTunes. Truly a mystery to me for now.

  • I updated my Iphone 3gs to last version of iOS and now I can't change my configurations of Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

I updated my Iphone 3gs to last version of iOS and now I can't change my configurations of Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Generally that is a sign that the iPhone had previously been jailbroken
or hacked to work with other than the original wireless provider. The update
has relocked the iPhone to the original wireless provider. You must
contact them to see if they provide unlocking and if you qualify.
If you can get that far, what does it say when you look at
    Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?
