Mail sync with exchange server problem

I started using Apple last year but have a problem with syncing to my exchange server. My iPhone, iPad and MacBook Air all sync fine but Mail on my iMac will only sync up to 20/08/2013.
The MacBook Air runs 10.9.1 and Mail v7.1 and syncs my exchange and IMAP mail perfectly.
The iMac runs 10.9.1 and Mail v7.1 and syncs my IMAP mail accounts fine but will not sync beyond 20/08/2013.  I have tried deleting the account but keep getting messages that this will delete the account from my Macbook as they are linked via icloud.  I can disable the account on the iMac but cant see how to delete it then.
There are posts about deleting mail caches but I dont know which files these are.
Can you help please?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
Make sure that you have enabled auto sync under settings > auto sync and under email > menu button > settings > your account > synchronize email.
If the settings is correct, you could try with another email client from Google Play to see if you experience any difference behavior.

When opening my Outlook 2010 with new added e-mail account with Exchange Server supplied by my employer, I have to click manually on my standard e-mail account for checking mail. Do I have to upgrade my Microsoft Office 2010 or how can I make my Outlook

    Hello Ketil,
    Good Day...
Seems to be the Issue is Syncing emails, now I would recommend you to Remove and Add the Account and try and check if the emails are getting synced automatically.
Hope this is with Single User. If it is with Multiple Users then we need to check the permissions assigned.

  • Calendar will not sync with Exchange server or most Google Calendars

    Hi,
I am writing about my wife's brand new Samsung Charge on Verizon. We managed to setup both her gmail account and her work exchange server account fine, except for the calendars:
Her Google calendar shows up fine, but I am unable to even see any other Google calendars that she has access to (both her own secondary calendars as well as calendars that others have shared with her) in order to select them to be visible.
Her exchange calendar says it is enabled (on the list of available calendars), but no events at all show up.
This behavior is with the latest software updates on the Charge (2.2.1 firmware, I510.EE4 build) using its stock calendar software. I did notice that if I use Smooth Calendar, it does list all of her Google calendars under its listing of available calendars, but it still only shows data from her primary calendar. This is also true using the Touch Calendar app, which leads me to believe that there is some problem within the Google Calendar sync software that is not allowing her calendars to appear correctly.
    Thanks!

  • Daily Problems with Mail Synchronizing with Exchange Server

Our office uses Comcast Business Class Service, which uses 2007 Exchange Servers, for internet access and email. I upgraded my MacPro from 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard 10.6.2, using the Upgrade DVD. The upgrade process kept my original Leopard Mail settings, which were using POP. At that time, I had not problems with email.
Unfortunately, awhile ago my Mail Preferences became corrupt, and I had to delete them. Upon relaunching Mail, the application wanted to use the new Autosync method to connect to the Comcast Exchange Server. Using POP was not an option.
I must say that I am less than impressed with the way Mail integrates with Exchange Servers. I have daily problems, and experience these problems multiple times per day. When they happen, they slow my email communication down to a crawl; sometimes for as much as an hour.
Specifically, the problem appears to be with Mail's ability (or inability) to properly synchronize with Exchange Servers. I get he spinning pizza icons next to the two Exchange email accounts I have in my Mailboxes source column. Opening the Activity window shows that the synchronizing process has slowed everything down. This results in not being able to send or receive email until the synchronizing is complete. And as I said, that can sometimes take as long as an hour.
Stopping the process in the Activity window does not resolve the issue. Nor does quitting and relaunching Mail. Because the next time Mail attempts to connect to the Exchange Server, it will try to synchronize yet again. The problem has become so chronic, that I often have to resort to using Webmail while waiting of the synchronizing process to complete.
Incidentally, the mailboxes that are synchronizing are empty! I am meticulous about keeping my Inbox, Sent, Drafts, and Trash mailboxes empty at all times. I do not use To-Do's, Notes, or Calendars of any kind on the Exchange Server, so there is no data to even sync!
Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a fix? Other email accounts I have, which use POP or IMAP, do not have this issue. There does not appear to be away to abandon the Autosync Mail setup and revert back to POP. If there is, I will do it in a heartbeat.
    Thanks.

Found a solution that works for me. Delete the problem account that's using AutoDiscover to sync with the exchange server. Before doing that, however, you will want to clear out the Inbox, Sent and even Trash folder for that account, as deleting it will remove the messages that currently reside in those folders. Just simply move them to another folder. You can move them back after re-creating the account.
The second step is to re-create the account. Do this as you would normally, and enter in your name, username and password. THE TRICK: Press and hold the Option key when you click Continue. After Mail connects to the server and verifies your account information, you will then have a pull down menu that will allow you to choose Exchange Server, IMAP and POP. Simply select POP or IMAP, then fill out the rest of the fields.
Viola! No more problematic Exchange Server syncing issues.

  • Mac Reminder (Mountain Lion) cannot sync with Exchange Server 2010

    Hi All,
My boss is using iMac reminder (Mountain Lion), iPhone and iPad sync with his Exchange Server account, He cannot sync Mac reminder with Exchange Server last week. However, there are no sync problem of iPhone, iPad and the other iMac.
My boss mail to me 'Just noticed that my iMac reminder is not in sync with the server. IOS device is in sync though. Tried unchecking calendar+reminder on account setup and rechecking but still no good. Any ideas?'
    Could anyone help me?
    Thanks,

Started experiencing this same issue with new Macs on Moutain Lion connecting to MicroSoft Exchange Server.
    ERROR Says:
Calendar can't save the event "event name here" to the Exchange server.
The account "describes calendar name" currently can't be modified. to discard your changes and continue using the version of your calendars that's on the server. click Revert to Server.
Then gives the buttons "Revert to Server" "Try Again" or "Ignore"
!!! Somehow it seems like this is a known issue, otherwise WHY would Apple have given us those 3 buttons to click on?
Needless to say this is causing productivity problems as it disrupts the very busy schedule of many users. Apple needs to provide some workaround for this.

  • Calender sync with Exchange server

Background: IOS7 on iPhone, Outlook 2007 on Exchange server, passwords managed by Microsoft Active Directory. We have some users that have multiple people with proxy rights to one calendar. Calendar items; new, updates (location, invites, attachments), and deletions are not appearing on the iPhone. The changes appear on the Outlook desktop application, problem is intermittent. The only suspected cause is that if the Outlook enterprise account is locked out by one of the users, anyone that has proxy rights can still add/change the calendar but these will not be reflected on the iPhone, even when account is unlocked. The only solution to date has been to delete and rebuild the account. Any suggestions?

I'm also having problems getting Entourage to sync with the Exchange server. Started with error -116 showing up. After trying all of the suggestions (restoring Entourage DB, clearing iCal sources, etc.) I was able to get Entourage to sync with iCal, but I cannot get Entourage to access my Exchange calendar correctly. I get the error -116 message or I just hang with Entourage not responding and I have to force quit. E-mail from the exchange server is working with no problems. Clicking on the calendar produces the error or hang. Interesting notifications from the calendar are working and the sync with iCal is working.
I am also seeing problems with progress reporting in Entourage. The Progress view shows in progress messages event after all updates have stopped.
I have rebuilt the Entourage DB and even tried creating a new user DB but continue to have the same problems.
Checked console log but don't see any messages that would help.
    Any other ideas?

  • Hidden Contact Subfolders are visible on iPhone after sync with Exchange Server 2007

    Hello,
We have encountered an issue where synchronizing the iPhone with Contacts from an Exchange Server 2007 mailbox, causes hidden contact subfolders (from Outlook) to be visible and appear in the Groups list in the Contacts App on the iPhone.  This does not occur with Exchange Server 2010 mailboxes.
We have a 3rd party application that creates hidden subfolders in the default Contacts folder on Exchange Server 2007 mailboxes.  The hidden folders do not display in the Outlook client, Blackberry or on an Android phone.  We did see that they were showing up in Outlook Web Access until we applied this Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3 Rollup 2 patch unto the Exchange server:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2210042 - A sub contact folder is still visible after you set the "PR_ATTR_HIDDEN" attribute to "True" in an Exchange Server 2007 environment.
After the patch was applied, the hidden contacts do not show up anywhere else.  However, when we synced the mailbox to an iPhone and synced existing contacts, all of the hidden folders appear in the Contact Groups list.  Is there a way to hide the hidden sub contact folders on the iPhone and prevent them from appearing in the Contact Group lists?
Any help provided would be most appreciated.
    Thanks and Best Regards

    Hi SBuchan,
I have an open case with Microsoft about it.  It is an issue with ActiveSync in Exchange 2007 that sends the hidden objects.  Microsoft tried to resolve this in Exchange 2010 by sending a delete message after sending the hidden objects to remove them from the device.  Am awaiting to see if they will approve a design change to Exchange 2007 ActiveSync to prevent the synching of hidden objects.

  • Mail with exchange server problem.

I keep getting a connection failed message asking me to chdeck the settings for my exchange account. I've done this many times and even managed to talk our administrator into checking the settings.
The error message contains the information that the host xxxx server on port 143 failed. This port may be incorrect, but how do I chage it?
I have managed to sync with my exchange account and all messages seem present, just can't send or recieve from mail, via exchange server.
    suggestions?????/

I think the problem of intermittent connections to the mail server is that it may be caused by OSX's firewall, so what I did was to go to System preferences>sharing>Firewall, I opted for a New port, I selected "other" and named it Mail and under the TCP port number I input 25 or you may input whatever you use (ssl requires a different number) or you may do several to cover all the accounts and name them mail2, mail3 etc. if you are wondering what UDP is, its the following: is a connectionless protocol that, like TCP, runs on top of IP networks. Unlike TCP/IP, UDP/IP provides very few error recovery services, offering instead a direct way to send and receive datagrams over an IP network. It's used primarily for broadcasting messages over a network, in other words if you are not sure avoid inputing a number here. So far Im trying it out for stability, I have read many articles and the solution may be as simple as this, its easy to try and non permanent, any one trying this solution please post any experiences. Thanks

  • TS3276 OS X Mavericks Mail does not sync with Exchange Server

After moving to Mavericks, mail, contacts, anc calendars do not sync with our exchange server. It will set up the first time and then stop sycning. Is there a way to delete the mail app and reinstall. All other Apple devices sync with the exchange server with no issues.

It was my DNS settings. I had my Airpot pointing to OpenDNS, and for some reason iCal and Address Book could not find their way to my exchange server. I changed the setting to use my ISP's DNS and now everything works fine.

  • Calendar sync with Exchange server is unidirectional

Hello I can synchronize my BB 8900 with the Exchange calendar in bidirectional mode using the USB cable. When I switch it to wireless mode in my calendar options at the BB device, the synchronisation works only from the computer to the BB but not the other way round. I have checked I have just one calendar (desktop), and checked that calendar sync is set in bidirectional mode in the desktop manager (I did it and checked it was working well with the USB before switching again to wireless).  I have BB 8900 v4.6.1.310 (Platform 4.2.0.127) and have tried with different desktop manager versions, with same result (4.7 and 5.01). My corporate helpdesk is working on it for several days but no clue of the problem . Any suggestion?

I have the exact problem. Upgraded iPad 2 and iPod touch 4th gen to iOS 6 at same time. IPad reconnected to exchange server w/o major problems. iPod lost contacts, calendar, and exchange e-mail. Spent 5 hours on phone over past two nights with apple support w/o any resolution. Support was very nice and supportive, but in the end did nothing to help. He kept blaming my company's exchange server settings claiming that I did not have all the information set correctly. We copied the settings EXACTLY  from IPAD to iPod without success. I was then able to set up my exchange account on wife's iPod touch w/o any problems. My calendar, contacts, email all synched onto her iPod fine . He had little to say about my Icompany's IT settings, and finally admitted he had no idea how to help. It is not you, it is IOS 6. Thanks Apple for a shiny paperweight that no longer can provide me with calendar, e-mail, or contacts . I wish my only complaint with iOS 6 was the map!
This is like ownging a Ford for two years, and then, aftrer changing the oil, the car starts, but the wheels no longer will turn.

  • Mail / Calendar with Exchange Server 2007

    Hi all,
We have a problem with Apple Mail and Calendar (Mountain Lion) connected to an Exchange Server 2007.
Apple Mail for no reason doesn't show the available data on the server. At first all goes right but after a few hours the data get corrupt. Folders disappear, mails aren't shown, ... The folders and mails are there in the server. I can check that with Outlook for Mac or on a collegues machine on Windows.
    I tried:
    - deleting the mail cache and mail data and restart
    - removing the accounts and setting them up again
    - creating a new user and trying mail in that user
None of those solved my problem.
Apple Calendar doesn't sync its data correctly. Example:
I create an event in calendar A. From that event I onvite calendar B to join the event. So far, so good. Everything just syncs fine. Then for some reason I delete the event from calendar A. In the server the event is still there. I checked in Outlook. This error is reproducable.
    I tried:
    - naming the user to <WORKGROUP>\<user>
    - deleting the calendar cache and calendar data
None of those solved my problem.
Can anybody help me with this?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
The configuration I think you have is MS Exchange on the back end fronted (to the Internet) by Outlook Web Access (OWA). As such, Blackberry Internet Service is the interface between OWA and the BB...there is no direct interaction between the BB and the Exchange server. As such, only email will reconcile wirelessly in this configuration. Calendar, contacts, and other items must be reconciled via USB/BT tether.
Now, that said, there is a free solution to do what you desire -- it's called BES Express. BES is BlackBerry Enterprise Solution and provides OTA sync of email, calendar, contacts, etc. Full BES is not free. But BES-X is. If you truly require full reconciliation of all things from Exchange, I recommend you research BES-X.
    Good luck!

  • Windows Mobile 6 not syncing with Exchange Server / Error Code: 0x80072F06

Just got my Dopod 838 pro with Windows Mobile 6 installed. Having this problem when trying to sync with corp. Exchange server:
The ActiveSync circle on the phone turns yellow/brown, clicking the Error message it says:
The Security Certificate on the server is invalid, please contact Exchange Server Admin or ISP, to install valid certificate on the server.
    Support / Error Code: 0x80072F06
That's the problem. My phone doesn't have a Data Link connection problem as I am able to go online with it, also the company's Exchange Server is good, a few days ago I used my Windows Mobile 5 to sync with it without a problem. (but then I lost the phone)
    Can some one help? Thanks.

    Can u help me here?
I have a windows 6 mobile devices (all) that are having an issue connecting to my exchange server. I am pretty useful with certs but this one is baffling me. I have a windows 2003 sbs server. I recently created a san cer on the server and since then my Windows devices cannot synch. I belive I have setup correctly, or not?? Ther error and the steps are below...
    ERROR ON DEVICE:
The security certificate on the server is not valid.Contact your exchange server administrator or ISP to install a valid certificate on the server:
    support code: 0x80072f06
STEPS I USED TO CREATE SAN:
    1. Created certificate using article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931351/en-us
I added the following as SN:        MAIL.EXTERNAL.COM     (my external dns record for mail server)
And added the following for SAN: SERVER01                     (my mail server name )
                                                         SERVER01.INTERNAL.LOCAL  (my mail server fqdn)
    2. Exported Root CA cert and imported to my phone
    3. configured active synch to connect to mail.external.com on 443
I believe these are the correct steps. I would liked to have been able to export the SAN cert from IIS with private key and install on phone but the webserver template doesnt allow you to export private keys. I also cannot create a dubplicate webserver template to allow the export of the private key as you need enterprise edition of windows 2003 to do this.
So I am at the end of line I tried exporting the cert without the privtate key and importing it but still keep getting samer error.
Why of Why does it not like my cert?
I have just noticed now when I browse to the same address for OWA externally I am getting the error on my browser too even though I have the cert installed on my laptop

  • IPhone not syncing with Exchange server

I'm having an issue with IOS 5.1.1.  Since Monday, my iPhone is downloading emails from my Exchange (outlook) account like it always has, the problem is, when I delete an email in Outlook, it's not deleting from my phone.  Similarly, reading an email in Outlook doesn't mark it as "read" on my phone.  This leaves me at the end of the day with hundreds of unread/extraneous emails on my phone that I have already addressed, filed or deleted in Outlook.  How do I correct this?
This is weird because it has worked correctly with everything syncing properly up until this week, and I did not update anything.
I'm using a PC for the Outlook - same PC as always, and no updates unless my company updated something remotely without my knowledge.
I have set up my email account using the "Exchange" option when I added it.  Already tried deleting and re-adding the account (twice).
    Thank you!

As I had said in my earlier post, my problem was with outlook being slow in updating exchange.
However, this does not explain your symptoms with OWA.
When I used OWA, the "state" seen by OWA and the iPhone matched (what was read, was read; what was not, was not).  However, Outlook (in my case, Outlook on the Mac - Office 2011) was way behind in updating this state.  If you read something in Outlook, it could take a very long time to reflect this state back to the Exchange Server.
Part of the reason for this was that I had a lot of stuff, both in my inbox and in my deleted mail.  I had to clear this out to allow Outlook on the Mac to perform at all well.
Are you sure that OWA is aligned with Outlook?  OWA is a direct view into the server state, and should match server state.  Outlook and the iPhone mail app are accessing the server, and have the opportunity (at least) to not show the current state of the server (bugs, delays, performance, etc).
If OWA and Outlook are really correctly in sync, and it has to be an Apple problem or a problem in the exchange server interface Apple is using.  But this was not my experience.

  • IPhone won't sync with Exchange Server

When I set up an account with my exchange server it's able to authenticate but it is unable to sync mail or calendars. When I try it gives me an error which says "Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server has failed."
    The log says

I don't believe this is a generic problem with the server because other users with iOS 4.0.1 and iPhone 4's are able to use the server. When one of those users who successfully uses it with his account configured his iPhone to access my account he received the same error. I am able to use my iPhone to access exchange accounts on other servers. Therefore I suspect there is a problem with just my account on just this server when it is accessed from any iPhone.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? Is there anyplace I can look up "DAErrorDomain error 111" to get more information on what may be failing?
