Mail synch with Outlook 2007 vs. Server

Hey there, I'd like to sort out an issue I'm having with the eMail sync process between Outlook and my iPhone. I hope I'll be able to get this across ...
I like to use my PC as my primary eMail machine, at the same time being able to synch my emails to the iPhone. What I don't like to see is my iPhone synching eMail directly with my eMail Server.
I have connected the iPhone to the PC, using iTunes and I am synching contacts, calender and email through iTunes to the iPhone. However, it seems my iPhone is synching directly with my eMail Server (which sits at my ISP) rather than with my PC. Is there any way to stop this and to make sure the iPhone will synch eMail only with the PC not with the sever?
Configuration is:
PC with Vista, Outlook 2007
iPhone 1.1.4
Thx !

There is no syncing of actual mail files through iTunes. The settings in iTunes for mail are to configure the Mail accounts on the phone.
The Mail application is a mail client just as you would find on a computer. When you configure the mail account settings, the iPhone accesses your mail servers and retrieves/sends mail.

  • Palm Z22 synch. with Outlook 2007

My old HP 4700 series PDA has died.  Fortunately, I've been backing it up to Outlook 2007.  I tried to replace it with an HP 111, but it simply would not synch. with Outlook and I eventually sent it back.  I really don't need WiFi on the PDA, so I'm thinking about going with a much simpler model and the Palm Z22 has been recommended.  I just want to make sure that it will easily synch with Outlook 2007 so I don't have to reenter all the contacts, calendar entries and notes that are presently on Outlook.  Has anyone had any problems that I should know about?  Any comments about the Z22 would also be appreciated.  Thanks.

Yes, the z22 will work with Outlook. However, Palm is not selling the z22 anymore. You might be able to find it on ebay...

  • M505 - synch with Outlook 2007?

Hello ... I've recently restarted and reinstalled my old (but barely used) m505 Palm. After several start-p issues (http://forumhttp://forums.palm.com/t5/Palm-OS-WinMo-Hardware/m505-Start-up-questions/m-p/328108#U328108), I've gotten my unit to reboot and operate.
My question is synching my Outlook Calendar, contacts and email to the Palm. I'm a bit confused on how to do this ... I've been to the update pages and downloaded the Palm OS update and the Outlook 2007 update ... but I haven't installed yet. I have installed Palm Desktop on my PC.
My configuration ... Windows XP Home edition (SP3); Outlook 2007
I can't figure out if I need to go through the desktop or if I go against Outlook directly?
How do I go about this (or is there documentation available?)

More information ... it appears nothing is really synching at all. I put Addresses in the Palm desktop by importing a Outlook export, and ran the hotsynch. Nothing appeared in the Palm device even though the HOTSYNCH operation ran without any errors.
I thought you are trying to sync with Outlook...?  If you've told Palm Desktop to switch to Outlook, addresses placed in Palm Desktop would not synch to your device.
Since you asked earlier, here's the support page for the m505:

Are there multiple Hotsync accounts on the computer?  Check both the HotSync Manager/Custom and Palm Desktop to see if the User name is correct.  Perhaps there are multiple Outlook accounts?

  • HT1296 My contacts are synching with Outlook 2007. The synch appears to complete but does not actually update the contact data.

I am having trouble with synching contacts between Outlook 2007 and iPhone5s via iTunes. The synch appears to work but data is not actually updating in either place.

The information I received gave me the courage to proceed with download to allow my handheld to sync with my new Outlook 2007 running on my laptop.  It worked and I still seem to be able to sync with my Outlook 2002 version on my desktop system.
Next problem is that I have some reurring appointments on my calendar that will NOT delete.  I have tried all methods I can find and nothing works.  Even if I get to the point where it asks if I want to open "this occurrence or open the series" (then save and delete), the darned things seem to be lurking in the future.  I have tried changing the end date or the recurrence schedule and it acts like I have entered them day by day and I can't successfully change the entire series.  Any ideas?
Thanks so much for the help with the previous issue.  You took a worry off my shoulders.

  • IPad stopped synching with Outlook exchange server

My iPad (ios 6.0.1) no longer synchs with my enterprise exchange server (Outlook)--none of email, calendar, contacts, etc. sync.  I removed the account from the iPad and reloaded all the information--the iPad checked off as if all was well.  But, it does not sync (manually or automatically).  I have an iPhone with the same ios and it works fine.  Any ideas?

OK, I don't know if you have the same problem, however, I figured out how to "fix" the issue I had with the iPad.  Somehow the settings were changed such that the switch to sync with my outlook calendar and the switch to sync with my outlook calendar were turned to "off".  I don't know how it happened, perhaps during some software update.  I now sync with no problem.  Good Luck!!!

  • Can you sync attachments from an iPhone to a Windows PC with Outlook 2007?

Can you sync attachments from an iPhone to a Windows PC with Outlook 2007? I would like to receive email on the iphone with attachments and then sync the attachments to a Windows XP PC with Outlook 2007 without Outlook 2007 having to connect to the mail server itself and having to separely download the attachment. Is this possible?
I have only tried one pdf file which downloaded wonderfully to the iPhone. I synced to the PC without the PC being connected to the email account. This also worked except that when I tried to open the attachment on the PC I got a message that the mail wasn't fully downloaded. When I went on=line on the PC, it downloaded the attachment. I would love to have this option because I can't access some email accounts from my corporate computer.

No it is not. The only information synced regarding email accounts is the email account information only and this is in one direction only - from your computer to the iPhone via iTunes.

On his phone, sign in Settings>iCloud and enable Mail so that he can have his own email address. Then add your account in Settings>Mail, Contacts & Calendars and enable Contacts and Calendars. They will then appear on his phone alongside any syncing he has set up. This will keep your emails separate, or you can add Mail as well so that you can both access that if you want. You can add his account in the same way on your phone and enable any data types you want to sync.

  • I have a problem with syncing my calander with outlook 2007 for iPhone 5s, ipad 1st and 3rd generation. Contacts work find, and new and changed enteries in outlook all go to the devices. Device Cal changes do not appear in Outlook

Over the past year or so, I have been unable to fully sync my iPads with outlook 2007 calander. Now I have an iPhone 5s, and really need the calander fixed. Contacts seem to sync in both directions, and any new or changed cal enteries in outlook appear on the device. The problem is that any new or changed calander enteries do not make ip back to outlook 2007, so there is only one-way syncing (down to the device) but no return, for calander entries.
I am now using the latest itunes, which I followed the recommendation delete all apple stuff, and then reinstall, I have used scanpst, built new PSts, etc, am I am stuck.
    Not using icloud either.
Not using wi-fi, purely USB cabale sync
    Running on Windows XP, SP3
Now IOS 7.0.2 on iPhone and 1 iPad (3rd gen)

    Kept searching, found this: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23321067#23321067
Bottom line: if you follow the recommendation to delte all itunes software and re-install, it don't work (at least for me and many others).
However, purge the data (certain data) and the data syncs.
I think the folder is Apple Computer\Preferences and it needs to be purged.
To be sure, maybe someone can rename the folder on their system, then run itunes and see if it syncs ok.
The idea is to figure out the least minimum stuff that needs to be touched in order to get a working solution than having to purge all Apple software and then rebuild it all over again.
I had purged other files out of inpatience, but did not want to purge entire folders because I had Safari, and Quicktime software, and did not want to wipe that out, Plus there were software downloads and device backups in some of those folders. But I really believe it is the preferences folder, and I would like someone with the same problem to try it and verify it.
Once the preferences folder is removed/renamed (taken out of the picture) pluggin in the device and go to the INFO (I think that is the iTunes tab) page where you select calanders, contacts, email accounts, etc. They will all be unchecked (because you wiped out the preferences) and you need to reselect them. Then run your sync.
What I had done in testing was create something on the device, and modify something else on the device looking to see what got up to Outlook. I got the good news that something good was happening when I got the conflict message from iTunes, and it showed both Outlook and iPhone, showing the calander entry I changed on the iPhone. Never got that before. After the sync, everything looked good the few test entries were uploaded to outlook.
Now, My Cal is 10L+ enteries, and I am doing 100% sync (I don't select the option to ignore enteries over x days). I also have 1400+ contacts. Before this change, the sync of contacts & calanders took a couple of hours (and only operated ONE-WAY, now the syn is taking less than 5 minutes for this one step.
I am a Windows XP Professional user, x32 bit system, using Outlook 2007, iTunes 11.1.1.11, I am standalone (no exchange server) and have about 10 email accounts (mainly POP) defined. I am using only one calander in outlook, but I have Outlook and 2 gmail calanders in the iPhone.
I am running iPhone 5s and iPad 3rd Gen both with IOS 7.0.2 and a 1st generation iPad with the latest version of IOS 5.x.
If anyone else has success, I'd like to hear, along with your experience.

  • Help syncing new iPad with Outlook 2007 on my PC and Blackberry Tour 9630

I have searched for answers and am stumped and frustrated...
I bought an iPad (am trying to become I-friendly) and thought it would be convenient to be able to sync my “stuff” (Contacts, Calendar and notes) to the iPad so we’ll have access to it while traveling.  I use a Blackberry Tour 9630 and a PC with Outlook 2007.  I have synced them effortlessly for years using Desktop manager.  I make changes to my ‘stuff’ on both phone and PC and when I sync - the most current ‘stuff’ gets placed on both.  Voila!  Not anymore.
When I set up my iPad to work with iCloud things got screwy.  A LOT of my contacts just disappeared - mainly the ones I use frequently.  Now my Outlook 2007 calendar has three calendars on the screen:
    Calendar in iCloud - pink
Calendar Merge Conflicts in iCloud - green in a tab behind the pink calendar
    Calendar - blue
I use a cox email account and my blackberry gives me the choice when deleting an email whether to delete on the device or on the server.  I use that feature a lot when we are traveling for a few weeks.  It is nice to come home with no redundant emails on my PC.
1-How do I combine all the calendars so I have the same thing on each device, Hoping to stay updated on each when I make changes
2-Can the iPad email give me the option to delete from the server when viewing an email on a cox.net account?
I am not an expert but fairly tech savvy and usually can get these things done. I need help!  I appreciate any thoughts or suggestions - Thanks in advance

  • Iphone calendar does not synch with outlook

Starting on Feb 1, my iPhone (5s) does not synch with Outlook (2013). Have tried many things:
    1. Building new Outlook data file (.pst)
    2. Changing synch settings in iTunes
    3. Changing USB cables
4.Removing/reinstalling iTunes and other Aplle software
Problem seems to have started after upgrading iOS and iTunes.
    Any idea?

Yes, that does make sense. You can transfer data from the old .pst file without saving it as a .pst file. Archive your current .pst. Then save your contacts as vCards, and save your calendar as an iCalendar file. After creating the new .pst file, you can open the old calendar in the new .pst as well as import the vCards back to your contacts.
Last question, did you run the scanpst.exe program to review your .pst file for corruption? You will find that, if I remember correctly, in the Office program folder. You can search for it. Run that, it prompts you for your .pst file and will scan it for problems. But saying that it started on a specific date would lead me to believe it is something you probably added that day. Out of all of the time I've been using Outlook 2007, 2010, and 2013 with my iPhones, and I've had them since the first one, I've only had 2 small events, and copying over the .pst has fixed them both.

  • IPhone will no longer sync with Outlook 2007

I've had my iPhone for about 16 months - the sync with Outlook 2007 worked great until about 3 months ago (I'm guessing previous update to the one that happened today.) No changes to the laptop I synch with - Vista.
In iTunes under the "Info" tab for Calendars I see the message "No supported calendar application can be found."
Normal sync for music works and photo uploading works fine.
    Help!
    Thanks!

  • How can I set up iCloud sync with Outlook 2007 using Hotmail account?

    Hi,
I installed iCloud PC control panel. I tried to sync my contacts and calendars from Outlook (2007) to the cloud but I gets this message: "Add an e-mail account to Outlook Before setting up iCloud". I have an Hotmail account synced up into my Outlook via Outlook Connector. Can iCloud sync with Hotmail accounts?
What should I do to get my calendars and contacts synchronize to the cloud. Does Outlook 2007 can be synced by the cloud too?
How can I set up iCloud sync with Outlook 2007 using Hotmail account?

I found a way to fix this, it did the trick for me:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3109623
All you have to do is include a new e-mail account [email protected] (set it as a default) on Outlook with the options that are showed in the thread I linked and you should have the calendars and tasks syncronised. It works perfectly with ipod touch, ipad and Outlook 2010 on windows 7.

  • My 3gs won't sync contacts with outlook 2007

No matter what i try, i can't get my 3gs to sync my contacts with outlook 2007.
Anybody had this problem and figure it out?

What have you tried so far?
Which iOS is your phone running on?
    Basic troubleshooting steps.
    1) Connect your phone to iTunes; click on your phone's name; Select "sync conatcts with outlook" from the other window.
    2) Make sure your outlook is configured to a mail account. If you don't use mail account on outlook, configure it anyhow.

  • I'm too old to learn iCal.  How do I tell iTunes to synch with Outlook for Mac for all of the Contacts and the Calendar on my iPhone and iPad??  Thanks

I'm too old to learn iCal.  How do I tell iTunes to synch with Outlook for Mac for all of the Contacts and the Calendar on my iPhone and iPad??
Also, once I figure out how to replace iCal with Outlook/Mac on iTunes, how do I synch the phone and pad so that the information on those devices over-writes onto Outlook as a backup, rather than having a blank Calendar on Outlook wipe out all of the information on the phone and pad???
    Thanks

If you haven't tried already, plug your devices into iTunes, and on each device next to the "Summary" tab at the top is another tab called "Info." Click that and scroll down to Contacts, Calendars, etc. There should be a pull down bar under each category for "Sync contacts from..." and you should be able to select from that pull down list Outlook.  Hit Apply at the bottom and see if that does it.
