Mail synching never ends

Hi,
When I connect my iPhone 3G, the synching process in iTunes 8.02 gets stuck on Synching Mail Accounts - and never ends. I even let the synching run all night, but the process was still going in the morning.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

Perhaps the difference is that the account you currently use is not an IMAP account but a POP account, and it is not configured to save messages on the server after retrieval. MobileMe and AOL mail are IMAP mail accounts.
If your present email provider supports IMAP, then change your mail account to use IMAP instead of POP. This will make it easy to keep both computers consistent with email.

  • Mail and never ending spinning pinwheel of death! Help!

    I'm running 10.5.6 on my 24'' aluminum/glass iMac, and when I open mail, I instantly get a spinning pinwheel of death that doesn't go away. I then have to force quit Mail, and if I open it again, the same thing happens.
    This definitely *****, how would I go about re-installing mail? Is that the solution?

    You don't need to reinstall mail, however, I do thing you need to reset it.
    This is how you do it:
    Quit mail (force quit it if necessary)
    Delete the following files:
    ~\library\Preferences\com.apple.mail.plist
    ~\library\Preferences\com.apple.mail.RSS.plist
    Move the folder Mail from ~\Library to your Desktop
    Launch mail. It will ask you to configure a new account, if it doesn't click on the Mail menu\Preferences\Accounts\(+) to add a new account and follow the on screen instructions to add an account. if you don't know how to add an account follow this tutorial:
    http://grumpynet.ath.cx/tutorials/configuremailforleopard/configuremail.php
    If you need help finding the settings for your ISP check out this link or call your ISP:
    http://grumpynet.ath.cx/Articles/Mailservers/mailservers1.php
    After doing this you should have your mail working normally again.
    NOTE: if you have folders created in your computer you can recover them by copying the Mail folder you moved to the desktop earlier into ~\Library and replace what's there. The folder ~\Library\Mail contains all your email messages and attachments, you can browse it and take a look at its structure if you want, is actually pretty cool and can help you understand how you can recover messages in the future or from another computer
    NOTE 2: the term ~\ means your Home Folder (the folder with the icon of a house and your user name under Places in Finder)
    I hope this help you fix your problem. Please post back to let us know if this fixed your problem or if you need more help

  • SOLUTION TO NEVER-ENDING "CONNECTING" IN MAIL!!!!

    SOLUTION TO NEVER-ENDING "CONNECTING" IN MAIL!
    I just got off the phone with Apple tech support. You need to delete all your mail accounts (write down mail settings if you won't remember them).
    Then you need to go under Settings- General- Reset- Reset Network Settings. When the phone restarts, just add the mail accounts one by one, and you're good to go. Keep in mind that a network settings reset will delete wi-fi settings.

    Hey Matt,
    You can just hold down the Home button for about 6 seconds to quit the Mail application, then launch it again.

  • Never Ending Authorize loop

    I'm now running into the never ending authorization loop.
    I've found the KB Article and have followed all of the steps, but am still not able to get passed it.
    I am noticing however that there are some discrepancies, even when I attempt to login to this site.
    My Apple ID doesn't follow an e-mail address format [email protected] When I go to authorize however, by default, the system puts in the @xxx.com extension. I remove it and the system tells me that the computer is already authorized.
    I'm using Windows7 x64 with iTunes 9.0.2.25 and a 3rd Generation Nano.
    I've sent an e-mail in to Apple for guidance, but am looking for any other ideas.

    Here is some additional information that I find questionable / lead me to believe that this is a bug in the system.
    As I continue to look through the list of files that are "Not Authorized" I find that some of them are files, I didn't purchase through the iTunes store, but rather music that was imported via a CD from my collection.
    What's going on Apple?!?!

    -My wifi connection is running strong
    -All the devices run the same version of iOS

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. • HELP! a sql NEVER end run!

    Hi, all,
    I have a spatial table GUNITA_SUB. A "select" statement run on the table never end.

    LOGGING;
    3) CREATE INDEX:
    CREATE INDEX "SYSTEM"."RTIDX_GUNITA_SUB"
    ON "SYSTEM"."GUNITA_SUB" ("TOS_GEOM") INDEXTYPE IS
    MDSYS.SPATIAL_INDEX PARAMETERS (' SDO_INDX_DIMS=2
    LAYER_GTYPE="MULTIPOLYGON" SDO_RTR_PCTFREE=2 INITIAL=64K
    NEXT=8192 MINEXTENTS=1 MAXEXTENTS=2147483645 PCTINCREASE=0');
    4) TABLE DATA:
    exp to GUNITA_SUB.DMP (1 row only, 46K after winziped as GUNITA_SUB.zip).
    5) the statement will NEVER end run!
    SELECT TOS_GID FROM SYSTEM.GUNITA_SUB WHERE SDO_RELATE
    (TOS_GEOM, MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2003, NULL, NULL, MDSYS.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1,1003,3), MDSYS.SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY
    (497926.23518501, 305741.04724192, 498681.34034164, 306144.37650229)), 'mask=anyinteract querytype=WINDOW') = 'TRUE';
    Does anyone ever encounter the problem? a program bug? or wrong data?
    I don't know how to upload the data file. but i can send the file by e-mail if needed.
    Thanks!

    Hi Liu,
    I ran this against 9.2.0.4 after updating the user_sdo_geom_metadata entry to get rid of some validation errors:
    update user_sdo_geom_metadata set diminfo =
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ARRAY(
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('X', 498047.221, 503492.691, .005),
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('Y', 303369.564, 311690.94, .005))
    where table_name='GUNITA_SUB' and column_name='TOS_GEOM';
    This allowed the data to validate better (no more redundant points), but the data is still invalid due to overlapping polygons within a single geometry. Oracle will not guarantee results on invalid data, so the fact that I can get it to work in this release does not predict that it will work in any other release. You need to use valid data with spatial.
    Also, please remove it from the SYSTEM schema!
    Kind regards,
    Dan

    iOS 7 allows you to have your apps update automatically. Therefore, the list of what has been updated stays so that you can see what was updated, when and what the release notes say. It has been suggested that they list has a limit, much like Recents. Currently, there is no way for the user to delete the entries manually. Just try not to look at them.

    anybody knows how long takes the proxy client generation process?

    I have this issue also, with images from my D70 (~6 megapixels) ... no solution, except that when it happens, quitting and re-launching Aperture seems to clear it up for a while, at least until it happens again.
    Given that you have almost twice the RAM and four times the CPU cores that I have, I suspect this is a software issue, and not one of insufficient hardware resources.  :-)

    I printed a 'preview' document and now it continues to print a never ending set of copies.  I have re-installed the printer software, but it still continues to print more copies.  What do I need to do to stop the document printing?

    Try resetting the printing system.
    1. Open System Preferences > Print & Fax
    2. Move your mouse over the Printers list
    3. Hold down the Control button and click the mouse
    4. Click the "Reset printing system ..." popup
    5. Restart your Mac
    This will remove your print queues but not your printer drivers. So you will only need to add your printer queues again.

  • Initial Time Machine Backup never ends

    Hi all folks,
    I try to backup my PB12 Disc (120 GB) to a external 500 GB Disc, connected via FW400, but the backup never ends, I think.
    The backup starts with 100MB/min but after 20h (80GB are store to a external Disc) it slow down to 1MB/min.
    With the "Activity Monitor" I see only some disc activities and a "mds" and "mdworker" process use some cpu time only (more than 10%).
    Where can I get some detail information, a log file, about the Time Machine activity from.
    Thanks for any help,
    Lutz

    Hi all folks,

  • Mappings never ends

    Dear All,
    We are using 10.2 version of OWB and we have around 80 mappings in one module daily we are running the mappings parallel through control center for the time consuming (manually). but one mapping still running normally it takes 1:30 to 2:00 hrs time to finish but some times it is taken almost 5 to 6 hrs some times it never end. at that situation we stopped the mapping.but while we check the target table data is coming perfect.
    Let me know the cause of this and how to salve it.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    When you kill the mapping from the Control Center the DB session which was triggered by mapping won't kill , you may see the session still running from Session Browser or any other way. This may be the reason you see the data in the Target table. to test this you may start regular running mapping and kill it from CC and observe the session from Database and you may see the data in the target table too.
    This may be one possibility. I am not saying what others say is wrong . I had experienced this issue before and i had to tune my code to get the mapping run consistent.

  • Mail package: missing end tag error

    Hi All
    I am using mail package for my receiver mail adapter.
    I have the required configuration for mail package as shown below:
    <ns1:Mail xmlns:ns1="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30">
      <Subject>Test Subject</Subject>
      <From>From Sender</From>
      <To>To Sender</To>
      <Content_Type>text</Content_Type>
      <Content>
      <Valid_Object>1000006-AAA-AAA</Valid_Object>
      <Company_Code>1001</Company_Code>
      </Content>
    </ns1:Mail>
    I get the following error in the communication channel monitoring:
    Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: com.sap.aii.messaging.util.XMLScanException: expecting end tag: Mail, but found {}Content at state 1
    How can i set this expected end tag?
    I thought </ns1:Mail> is the end tag and it is defined properly.
    Thanks
    Chandra

    Hello Sebin
    I have a proxy to mail scenario.
    I am extracting data from SAP and I have to send it in email as a text attachment.
    So, i am using mail package. My message type is as follows (as suggested by documentation):
    <ns1:Mail xmlns:ns1="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30">
    <Subject>Test Subject</Subject>
    <From>Sender email</From>
    <To>Receiver email</To>
    <Content_Type>text</Content_Type>
    <Content>
    <Valid_Object>1000006-AAA-AAA</Valid_Object>
    <Company_Code>1001</Company_Code>
    </Content>
    <Content>
    <Valid_Object>1000006-BBB-BBB</Valid_Object>
    <Company_Code>1002</Company_Code>
    </Content>
    </ns1:Mail>
    I also checked 'keep attachments' option. I am not using adapter specific message attributes for mail adapter.
    Now, i am getting the following error in communication channel monitoring:
    Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException:
    com.sap.aii.messaging.util.XMLScanException: expecting end tag: Mail, but found {}Content at state 1
    I have a start tag "http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30" as suggested by documentation.
    I thought, end tag can only be </ns1:Mail> which closes initially opened start tag with the same name.
    What is the mistake here? How can i get the end tag?
    Many Thanks
    Chandra

    My icalendar is on a never ending importing how do I get it to stop!

    Items purchased in an account a permanently associated with that account.  You cannot split accounts nor merge them.  You can log in with your family account and download items that way.  In the long run though, especially if you are using other Apple devices, you may encounter problems with authorization.  You should look into making new purchases with your own ID.
