Mail synchronise

i had problem with email synchronise 2 days a go with my nokia N8 it was working ok before that and now when i want to log in facebook useing the app it tils me getway problem tray again
and it dose not work
i need help plz

It sounds like you have your email set up as Pop. This only pulls emails down from the Inbox of the acct. It doesn't upload emails up to the server. That would need the acct to be set up on Outlook as IMAP. Unfortunately, I don't know the details for that, but one of the fine folk on here will be able to provide those for you. I'm not sure if yahoo has it's domain details set up so you can automatically set it up as Imap by letting outlook create an IMAP acct on there, never having tried it. If it does, it will just be a case of creating the email address again automatically, selecting IMAP rather than Pop when creating. You may also need to select IMAP as being allowed to be used within the settings on yahoo mail, but as I said other folk can provide a lot more cogent information with regard to the yahoo element than I can.
With regard to the sub-accounts showing on Outlook but not in the webmail, they would have their own webmail inboxes, which don't show when not logged into them. They would be showing on Outlook becuase the relevant email has been set up on there.

How does BTYahoo mail synchronise with mail in Liv...

Windows 7 (64 bit), BT Broadband. How does BTYahoo Mail synchronise with mail in LiveMail or Outlook? I ask because in my case incoming emails to Outlook (and previously to Windows Live Mail) are also recorded in the BT Yahoo Mail inbox. However the mail in the Sent box are not recorded on BTYahoo Mail. Neither are sub accounts mail in Inbox or Outbox in Outlook shown in Bt Yahoo Mail. Is this normal or do I have to change something to keep BT Yahoo Mail in step?

Mavericks Mail Synchronising GMail

Have multiple GMail accounts and pick these up on multiple deveices (2xiMac, 1xMacPro Laptop, iPhone5) and noticed that read mails were not always synchronosed especially on Laptop and home iMac. Particularly annoying due to number of emails having to be read twice etc.
Restarting Mail, Synchronising mailboxes, Rebuilding Mailboxes seemed to have no effect but disconnecting the wifi signal then connecting did - try it.
Can't wait for the Mavericks update to come out though

I wish I could say I'm as shocked as you. I switched to using Apple computers a couple of years ago because of the build quality and the fact that if nothing else the OS at least compares favourably to the competition.
However, the thing that made me hold off on this for so long was their infamous insistence on rail-roading users through unpopular, inconsistent or just plain awful UX choices. There's a reason that nearly every official Apple-made App on the OS X and iOS App Stores has about two stars, and thousands of one star reviews.
Switching to a third party mail app, at least until this is resolved (presumably as a much-touted "new feature" in 10.10).
edit: Have tested kakgungor's plugin and it works perfectly, definitely worth it for anyone who still wants to use Mail.

IMAP Mail Synchronisation

I'm using IMAP in the Mail application on my iMac and on my iPad. Both work fine but there seems to be a problem with syncing of messages between what's held in the mailbox subfolders on my desktop computer and what's on the server.
For example, if I send a message to myself on the iPad and then move it into a subfolder on the iPad the message appears correctly in that folder on both the iPad and in the 'server' section of Mail, which is called 'RAY'S MAIL'. However, the message doesn’t appear in the corresponding 'ON MY MAC' folder, no matter what I do. Rebuilding the mailbox, asking Mail to synchronise, restarting the Mail application: nothing fixes it.
Similarly, if I send a message to myself on the iMac and move it to the folder in 'ON MY MAC' and then try to sync the folders it doesn’t put it into 'RAY'S MAIL'. Now I confess that I originally dragged my folders from 'ON MY MAC' onto 'RAY'S MAIL' to create them in the first place, simply because selecting 'Synchronise' didn't create the folders. I thought it was all working fine, as most items actually appeared to be syncing, but this clearly isn’t true for much of the time.
This is all horribly boring and tedious, but if anyone has any good ideas about fixing this I'd very much appreciate them.

OK, I threw away the 'Mailboxes' folder in Mail's folder in the 'Library' folder and restarted Mail. I now only have 'RAY'S MAIL' the sidebar of Mail that I'll work with. I note that the server data is also stored on my computer at Library/Mail/V2/ in my account name, so this appears to be the solution, but please correct me if I'm wrong!

Hotmail and Mail Synchronisation: Deleted Emails

Hi Everyone, I purchased my first MacBook in September 2008, which is essentially the same as the MacBook Pro and I purchased it within the time it was called MacBook only! In September 2013, where I was operating my old MacBook on the newest system available, it crashed and wouldn't restart anymore - turns out the memory is broken and needs to be replaced (error noise and grey screen, when starting the MacBook). However, now I urgently need some Email and Photo data from that MacBook and therefore did an imaging of the harddrive in order to copy all the data and am now experiencing the following problems:
1. Hotmail Mails - After Synchronisation with the Mail application, all emails deleted themselves on the Microsoft servers online and therefore could not be synchronised from the hotmail servers themselves and is solely stored on my old MacBook. When I tried to open and find the data on the copied files on my new MacBook via a harddrive, I could not access the mail folder because it simply was inexisting within the Mail application itself - please can you help me find a way to restore those old Mail items?
2. iPhoto - I secured my iPhoto library with Macfort and can't remember what my Macfort password was

How do I synchronise my e-mail on my Imac and MacBook Pro?
Also, How does it work between my Imac and my IPAD?

I am having this problem with Mac OS 10.5.8, Mail.app 3.6, iPhone 4.1, using my own domain name with pop.gmail.com.
The troublesome emails do appear when I login to Gmail, they just don't make it to mail.app

Since switch to new pc with Windows 7 and live mail synchronisation of contacts fails. On old pc with Vista and Outlook Express there were no problems.

Synchronising outlook calender

I am struggling with synchronising my BB with my outlook calender. I have followed all the instructions I can find but I am obviously missing something.
I am trying to configure my calender on desktop manager but when i press 'configure', the outlook profile drop down is empty and so I cant get any further.
please can anyone help as this is driving me mad. I am having to manually enter all appointments twice, once in BB and then again in Outlook. my mail synchronises automatically.

What happened to the Run command?

Mac Book Air and Mail

I have recently purchased a macbook air to go with our iMac, iPad and iPhone. The MacBook has Maverick on it but the iMac still has Snow Leopard (version 10.6.8). We use mail and have a number of POP accounts however, I am unable to set these up on the Macbook despite being able to previously on the iPad and iPhone. I was then hoping to use iCloud to to fully sychronise them.
I (still) plan to ugrade the iMac to Maverick but want to ensure all back up -mails are secure before then and to be able to replicate alll e-mails across all machines.
Can we set up e-mail accounts separately for each person?

Deleting one piece of mail deletes it from all computers.
Email is saved in the cloud.

Exchange 2007 - Mac mail broken?

Since yesterday I have not been able to receive email on Mac mail connecting to hosted Exchange 2007 from GoDaddy.
I have deleted the account twice now, both times the mail synchronises up to current mail and then no new mail comes in.
When I try to send mail I get :
'Cannot send message using the server [email protected] (exchange). The exchange server 2007 connection to server ex1.secureserver.net failed '
Funny thing is the mail does actually arrive with recipient but it remains in my mac mail outbox.
Email is working fine using web/owa and fine on iPhone. This also works fine on my Windows 7 Machine using Outlook 2007 so it is no GoDaddy's issue.
Did Apple break something in an update?

I have just been able to verify that this is indeed a GoDaddy issue. I have two Exchange accounts, one hosted with GoDaddy and one on a corporate Exchange server.
My GoDaddy hosted Exchange account is not working at all right now, after the issue started yesterday I deleted the account, rebooted and added it again and I now don't see ANY emails now in my Inbox or other folders on the Exchange server. I also lost all of my calendar and delegate calendar info in iCal (but it's all still on the server). OWA, iPhone, and Outlook on a virtual PC continue to work fine.
My corporate Exchange account continues to work as expected in Mail. I just had a colleague send me several test emails and meeting requests, I was able to see the message contents (not just the header like I was seeing on the other account yesterday), reply, and accept the meeting request.
I guess the fun part starts now - getting the dipsh**s at GoDaddy to figure out what they broke.

Which provider of free e-mail synchronises best with "mail". Yahoo you need to pay to work with Mail and I am looking for something that works, is free and preferably isn't Google - any thoughts?

www.fastmail.fm works for me. Free IMAP accounts with 10MB of storage. Not a lot, but free is free. Enhanced Fastmail accounts with more storage space and more features are pretty cheap.

How Do I Use Keychains Properly?

I'm considering making more use of Keychains instead of an old fashioned paper notebook. I've tried reading the on-line help in the Help Viewer but I don't fully understand it all. I think that I'm missing some conceptual context. I was hoping that I could get a few answers to my questions here.
1. I routinely use many web based application services that require me to log in before I can use them. One example is these Discussions Pages. Can I store my password in the keychain somehow and have Safari automatically fill in the form for me so I can just click the login button or even by-pass this step entirely? If so how?
2. I am considering storing sensitive personal data such as bank account numbers, access codes etc. Secure Notes seem to be the right place to do this. Just how secure are they? The keychain seems to get backed up to my .Mac account. Is the information stored in an encrypted way there? I'm aware that any encryption can be cracked given a powerful enough computer and sufficient time but would like to get a feel for the risk I'm taking.
3. There is a note in one of the help pages about allowing applications to access your keychain. It says: "IMPORTANT: If you select "Allow all applications to access this item" for an item in your keychain, you make it easy for a computer virus or other software to read the password.". My .Mac account and Mail synchronises on a regular basis often when my computer is unattended with the screen lock on. If I don't allow the applications to always access then they will stop unless I'm there to click the button and authorise it. Am I taking a big risk by selecting Always Allow for these individual applications involved in synchronisation?
4. If I back my keychain up to a CD or USB drive using the .Mac backup utility. Is the data encrypted?
5. Is there any way to access the data in your keychain without a Mac? I'm unfortunate enough to be compelled to use Windows at work. It would be handy to have the keychain on a USB stick just so I could look it up. I'd be surprised if Windows could automatically exploit the content but if there is a way, please let me know.
6. How vulnerable is a keychain to corruption and what can you do to protect yourself against it? If I put loads of data in there without keeping a hardcopy record, I can just imagine something breaking and losing the lot. Is that likely?
Apologies if these seem like dumb questions. I'm happy to be pointed at some overview material if it exists somewhere.

Good question. I hadn't thought about it before. I so notice that on very dark photos I get better results moving the right level indicator to the left than I do when when using the shadows adjust. The shadows adjust really gives me a grainy/noisy appearance whereas the levels a much smoother and cleaner effect. Other than that I just play with them till it looks good to my eye.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

N8 apps make unwanted internet connection automati...

Dear users,
I have had my N8 for a week now. It's beautiful, but there is only one issue I cannot resolve.
With my other Nokia's (also Vodafone as provider) I was able to set any internet connection manually by selecting "Always ask" in the phone's connection settings to prevent the phone from making expensive internet Vodafone connections, especially when being abroad.
With my new N8, Vodafone has secured my internet connections (Vodafone Live), so I am not able to edit the connections anymore and make adjustments. I noticed that with many apps from the Ovi Store, my phone immediately selects Vodafone Live as an internet connection automatically, There is no way to change this or to prevent the app from making the connection to Vodafone Live. Even when my home Wifi network is in range.
Anyone with the same problem? Is it a Vodafone issue? Is Vodafone trying to push users to use their internet connection by protecting the connection settings for Vodafone Live?

i figured out its propably by nokia ovi store.
ive found that my n8 have the same problem as yours, i mean its connecting automatically to internet by network with priority #1 in INTERNET group. If its WiFi, nokia will connect by this WiFi if its Network Package Connection, nokia will connect by this one.
Shutting down (by widget) scanning for WiFi or disconnecting gives no improvment, still connecting about 3 sec after disconnecting.
Remove/Editing/Adding again connections
gives no effect
Restarting phone does not help. Widgets are offline.
setting -> connectivity -> admin.setting -> package data -> when needed/when exist
gives no effect
Menu -> Settings -> Connectivity -> Settings -> Data use in home country
Automatic/Always ask/WLAN only/Home network only
gives no effect
Menu -> Settings -> Connectivity -> Settings -> Switch to WLAN
Only know WLANs/Manual
gives no effect
Any ideas ??
FOUND IT !! Thank you ISMOK it was mail synchronising, after turning off every day it has stopped connecting.
