Mail Unresponsive after 30 seconds or less

Mail has been playing up for 4 weeks now
I have 3 Accounts MAC Imap
Orange UK POP3
and Hotmail using HTTP plugin( Latest leopard compatible version),
I am Running the lastest mail with the latest security updates etc But mail has been "Beach Balling" CPU100% after 30 second of being opened.
The solution is to go into your Library Folder in your user account open bundles and Delete the HTTP add on Mail will now work fine Hope this Helps

Have you fixed it yet?

  • My new E72 shutdown after 10 seconds or less

I just bought my new E72, it shutdowns after 10 seconds or less , the screen just disappears, it's been now charging for 9 hours and still nothing happened,  And after I plug the charger it also takes less than 10 seconds and the screen disappears too, please help.

I find this manual to reset an E72. Not shure that`s working
    hard reset=
1.)  hold (continuously together!!!) the following buttons:
" * " (star on 5) and  "3" (number button) and "talk/green key" (button left side)
2.) turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen.
once you feel the phone power up, you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons.
It`s the "monkey-grip" ,you have to know !   But it seems to work!

  • Mail quits after a second or 2

Mail suddenly started quiting immediatly after opening (1 or 2 seconds max). I can no longer access any of the functions before mail quits.
Safari and all other apps that I've tried so far work fine. Can I reload mail program only and will I be able to save settings, messages, and addresses?

Have you installed Safari 4 beta from the ADC website - if so, then this is your problem. Use the uninstaller in the download package to reinstate Safari 3.
If not the above, then try these:
'Repair Permissions' using Disk Utility, and restart.
If Mail crashes upon opening, try holding down the shift-key when opening, then rebuild your mailbox - Menu/Mailbox/Rebuild.
Are you using Synchronization in System Preferences/MobileMe? If so, try turning it off. Also check that your computer appears under the 'Advanced...' button.
If all else fails, then move the 'Mail' folder in ~/Library/Mail to your Desktop (do NOT delete it at this stage). Also, move 'com.apple.mail.plist' from ~/Library/Preferences/ to your Desktop. You will need to setup your mailbox again when you open Mail - follow the default setup procedure and setup your mailbox as an IMAP account - it will synchronize/download the emails you have stored on the server if you have been saving your data there.
Test Mail and if it is OK, then you can import whatever data you have in the old Mail folder on your Desktop - Menu/File/Import Mailboxes/Mail for Mac OS X and navigate to the Mail folder on the Desktop, follow onscreen instructions.
    Hope this helps.

  • Mail unresponsive after wake from sleep.

When my Retina Macbook Pro wakes from sleep, when i go to mail, it will often become unresponsive for a period of a few minutes - if i go and use safari/ other apps, it will normally resume normal use in its own time, alternatively, i must force quit and reopen to gain use of mail again.
I cant think of any configuration changes which caused this problem to begin, not after any particular software update of anything, am running the most up-to-date version of Mountain Lion - is anyone else seeing this problem and have a solution?

my problem on mail, is that sometimes when i quit it (cmd + Q) it will not quit. although the mail window is gone, but the app is still running in background. and i have to force close it only i can re-open it. and if i didn't force close it, i can't turn off my mac. using MBPr as well in Mountain Lion. really hoping for a solution to this problem.

  • Safari and Mail Unresponsive after an hour or so of use

I haven't seen this yet. After some time both Safari and mail become unresponsive. I will be in the middle of either surfing the web or checking email and safari or mail (open windows) will disappear from the desk top but remain open in the dock. When I click on an open page in my dock the page will shut down. This will go on with each page that i try and bring forward, and safari will not respond. As well, mail will become completely unresponsive as well. Although it remains open in the dock, no amount of clicking on the icon or trying to bring a new viewer window forward will work. I must shut down and log out in order to get everything to work again. I've reset my sync, i've reset Safari, I've run disc warrior and cleaned up the permissions but nothing seems to interrupt this process. It happens several times a day, usually when i am trying to do work.

    Why is my computer slow?

After applying the Mail Update for Mavericks 1.0, Mail refuses to launch. Activity monitor has it listed as "Not Responding"
So instead of having brocken gmail, I now have no mail at all!
    Details:
I ran Disk Utility to repair permissions (lots of bad permissions for iBooks, not for Mail). I also tried a reboot.

Manually moved .plist files from Preferences and Application Support/Mail
Deactivated Mail in System Preferences/Interner Accounts
Created a test user account <- Mail works there
Manually re-run the Mavericks Mail Updater
Moved Library/Mai;/V2 asside <- Mail loads

I stopped syncing with all folders except the inbox (cannot be shut-off).
    - No better
    I deleted the account settings.
    - No fix.
Then I turned off push (set it to manual) and switched my "show messages" to 50.

  • Mail crashes after a few seconds

Hi I have a problem where mail will crash after 10 seconds. It does not say why it just closes. Due to problems that I have been having with the machine anyway the whole system was rebuild a few weeks ago and and the 10.4.8 combo update was installed at the end of Jan. Since then I have had no problems until friday. I have removed the permissions for mail and also verified and repaired the disc permission but am still having no joy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have seen that people have suggested re-installing the 10.4.8 update which I have downloaded and done this morning but that has not changed anything.
    Powerbook 1Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hi Spoonski
Hi I have a problem where mail will crash after 10
seconds. It does not say why it just closes.
Have a look at console.log and system.log with /Applications/Utilities/Console.app and post possibly related entries here. Best thing is to start Console.app, then Mail.app and see those messages coming in.
    Due to
problems that I have been having with the machine
anyway the whole system was rebuild a few weeks ago
and and the 10.4.8 combo update was installed at the
end of Jan. Since then I have had no problems until
    friday.
What did you do on friday?
I have removed the permissions for mail
Please elaborate on this one. I don't understand what you mean by removing permissions.
also verified and repaired the disc permission but am
    still having no joy.
This doesn't touch files in your home folder, only Applications and System folders. So no joy as expected.
    Any help would be greatly
appreciated. I have seen that people have suggested
    re-installing the 10.4.8 update which I have
downloaded and done this morning but that has not
    changed anything.
I don't think this has anything to do with your system, but either with your settings you use to check your mailbox or with your mailbox itself.
What do you use to connect to your mailbox? IMAP, POP?
Are you sure you understand all the settings in Mail.apps Accounts Preferences? Here's the place to ask.
    Regards
    Gregor

  • Whenever I access my Hotmail inbox to open a new mail it starts reloading the mail after every second unless i switch it to full view?

whenever I access my Hotmail inbox to open a new mail it starts reloading the mail after every second unless i switch it to full view. Kindly help me to solve this continuous problem.

I confirm this is a known bug and Microsoft are working on a fix. They plan to fix this before Firefox 4 reaches release candidate phase.
A workaround is to change a preference in Firefox:
    # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # Locate the preference '''html5.enable''' and double-click on it to change its value to '''false'''
If you do this, remember to set the preference back to true by double-clicking on it again when Firefox 4 release candidate is made available, the bug should be fixed by then.

Try force quitting the Mail app:
Option+Command+Esc, then select Mail from the list. See if that helps.

  • Issues solved after a second install of Belle

    Hi.
I have been advised to reinstall Belle on my Nokia E7.
I've been told that after a second install of Belle most issues are gone.
Do you know what specific issues are solved after that reinstall?
I'm curious because I want to know if it is worthy to reinstall Belle.
    Greetings from Paraguay.
    Claudio Bogado Pompa.
    Greetings from Paraguay.
    Claudio Bogado Pompa.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Claudio,
I upgraded from Anna to Belle on the first day that Belle was available.  Yesterday I re-installed Belle.
Since updating my E7 from Anna to Belle I have had mixed opinions as to whether that was wise to do.
Though Belle has a lot to like about it in features and speed, there are many things that were really good in Anna but have been degraded or are even missing in Belle.  See this list which many people have contributed to:
    /t5/Software-Updates/List-of-Belle-additions-corrections-needed/td-p/1328167/page/3
I have customized the home screens (use three) quite a bit and have added a number of free apps for more convenience in use of the phone.
Before I tell you my experiences and give you my reasoning I should give some background about myself and my Nokia E7-00.  Note that though I am very competent with computer hardware and software I have much less knowledge and skill with cell phones.
My E7-00 is my second Nokia phone experience.  I also bought an E6-00 for my wife.  I got the E7 for myself because I need the large keyboard for my large fingers and I like the GPS/maps capability.  I got the E6 for my wife because she was unhappy with the touch screen on her Nokia 5230 and is more comfortable with a keyboard.
I have owned my E7 for less than a year, use it primarily for my small business,  and upgraded to Anna immediately after purchasing it.  Though I tested using a data connection for WEB browsing for a couple of months I don't subscribe to a data service now because I found little use for it and it is (in my opinion) very expensive here in Canada.  I do connect my E7 to the Internet often using WIFI through my home or business routers, and occasionally through WIFI connections at hotels and other locations when I travel.
Since upgrading to Belle I have had many occasions when my phone would freeze either momentarily or permanently (necessitating powering it off) and a few times it has completely shut off for no reason.  I have had a number of occasions when I have been unable to answer an incoming call because the touch screen was unresponsive.
In trying to determine the cause of the problems with the phone I have removed apps and done soft resets of the phone.
I thought about re-installing Belle but was loath to do it because of the bad experience I had when I first upgraded from Anna to Belle.  At that time I did a backup of my phone using the latest version of Nokia Suite.  The download and install of the Belle update went very smoothly.  But once the phone was functional again I found that I lost many things including all my customizations, my WIFI settings, and all the many map favorites (GPS coordinates) I had collected when traveling and calling on customers.  The backup that the Belle installation software performed did not restore these things, and the same was true of the backup I did with Nokia Suite.
Yesterday my frustration level with the phone was such that I decided I had to try a re-install of Belle.  I did another backup up the phone with Nokia Suite and synced the map favorites with Nokia's on-line service.  But I also had the inspiration to download the latest version of Nokia PC Suite and do a backup with that too - a good thing I did!
I used Nokia Suite to re-install Belle.  After the reinstall I again had lost all my customization, some installed apps, and all map favorites.  I tried to restore things by using the backup I had done with Nokia Suite, but that did not work.
Then I restored the backup I made with Nokia PC Suite and EVERYTHING was back.  I could hardly believe my good fortune.  Even my map favorites were back.
Since it is little more than 24 hours since my re-install of Belle I cannot say whether it was really worth the effort.  But so far the phone does seem to be behaving itself.  It is a little smoother in operation with less delay and I have not had any freezing.  On the other hand it has been a quiet day and the phone has not had a good workout.  Still, I am hopeful.
This most recent experience makes me wonder if Nokia is making improvements in Belle without giving notification.  I am wondering if the version of Belle that was used for the re-install is different from the original version I installed about a month ago.
I will not upgrade my wife's E6 to Belle until I know that the problems with Belle have been fixed.
I hope you find this information useful.

  • Touch Screen unresponsive after iOS 8 update

My 1 year old 64GB iPhone 5 touch screen started to become unresponsive after iOS 8 update
It's not consistent. Touch screen functionality will seize whilst phone is being used for either answering calls, typing messges, surfing, gaming etc and won't become responsive until it is turned off and on again (via power button). Home button is functioning with no problems.
As the phone is now out of its warranty period I want to verify if it's the OS that's causing this or do I actually have a hardware issue.

I have the same issue. iPhone 5, 1 year-old, not even a scratch.
Sometimes my touch screen works, sometimes not. When it works, it is just for some seconds, then some phantom touches start to happen all over the screen, but specially, when i'm typing, it types z or m, when I try to type something in, and it receives it, it will act as z or m again....
If I switch off my screen and switch on again... sometimes it will work, sometimes it wont... veeery unstable.
I considered downgrading to 7.1.2 but since I heard it is ilegal I decided to wait for a new iOS release.... any suggestions? (already wiped it and the issue continued...)
Is it really not recommended to downgrade it and have my phone funcionalities back?
