Mail users no login with Mail or webmail
MacMini Server 10.6.4. Users can login to server via vpn and connect ok. Mail Server was working fine then just stopped. However send and receive IMAP emails not working. Mail Log for smtp 'postfix/smtpd[2065]: error: Unable to lookup user record. Mail Log for 'Mail Access' - Dovecot show various entries like 'no record for user' and and lookup failed for user: username'. I have checked DNS and it looks fine with hostname check and fwd and reverse lookups good.
Also another error in Mail Access - dovecot[217]:auth(default): gssapi(?192.168.x.x): While processing incoming data: A required input could not be read.
When accessing IMAP the following appears - Aug 24 17:35:32 crudeserver push_notify[84]: error: <iq id='10049' to='[email protected]/push_notify' type='error' from='pubsub.crudeserver.crudelubricants.com' xmlns='jabber:client'><pubsub xmlns='http://jabber.org/protocol/pubsub'><publish node='/Public/IMAP/crudeserver.crudelubricants.com/portnum/Mailbox/FA3FBFCD-6DB C-4848-9DB4-C38AB1A6F738'><item><plistfrag xmlns='plist-apple'/></item></publish></pubsub><error type='cancel' code='404'><remote-server-not-found xmlns='urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-stanzas'/></error></iq>
As I said evrything else on the server appears to be ok except that even though I can login via vpn a couple of time now I have gone to login and none of the sharepoints appear at all. ie it is completely blank. After restarting the server the sharepoints reappear.
Can anybody provide ideas please asap as it effecting my clients emails.
I think it might have to do with the ISP. I will research this before wasting your time.

I start kdm in rc.conf with reboot and login as user I setup Arch linux. It seems this user name is not admin and can't add other users.

MikeThe issue is I can't see any users and groups existing by "users and groups" tool under systems of menu.
Even I can add new user (this means I am admin), I can't change anything under "Login manager"

No user other than root can login with Java Desktop System

I have a issue with loging in Oracle Solaris 10 using X-Browser and need your help.
I can login to console login using X-Browser but only root can login that use Java Desktop Release 3 and
all rest user cannot login with the session use Java Desktop Release 3.
I have tried to rename .dt directory to reinitialize the user's environment but still not work.

I have create 4 users:

In Workgroup Manager I have also added a second short name for each user for overlapping, in the mail option the mail server for users in domain1 is the default: sever.domain1.com and for users in domain 2: server.domain2.com
The problems are:
1. When I send a mail from my users in hotmail it returns back as: Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender.
2.How can I configure this emails on PCs?
3.I want to create web services for both my domains without the users from domain1 can log in domain2.
When I tried to active 2 separate web services for each domain the user from domain1 had access to domain2.
For example
In https://www.domain1.com should only login users who belong to this domain (domain1).
Thanks for your time!!To control access to your web pages use Server Admin, select the sites tab, and then select realms.
Add a realm for each of your domains, and then exclude all users except the ones applicable to that domain.
Have you enabled mail for the users in Open Directory? What does your smtp log say when you try to send email? -

What advantages there are, if any, to using Apple's MAIL program over, e.g., Yahoo! Mail?
I began using email on the Internet long before I got a Mac and so have been a longtime user of webmail (i.e., Yahoo! Mail).
Webmail has one obvious advantage -- it can be accessed anywhere (including on PC's).
Webmail, as it currently exists, also has one great disadvantage -- its customer service tends to be poor, largely (so it seems to me) because it is staffed by people who are poorly-trained and often none-too-bright (my impression based on some of the replies I get). There are also no user forums for Yahoo! Mail comparable to those available at apple.com.
To date, that has not been enough of a problem for me to switch.
However, if there are particularly useful advantages to MAIL I'd like to know -- maybe I'll change my mind.

A dedicated mail application provides management features that webmail usually does not. An advantage of Mail is the integration with iCal and Address Book.
You would need to use a dedicated email application for a while to determine if the additional features are something you need enough to warrant moving away from a webmail account, although ideally having an email ISP that provided both webmail and remote mail access would be ideal. You can have that with Yahoo but only with their upgraded fee account. Free Yahoo mail is only accessible via the web. -

Hmmmm... would appear that you need to be actually logged in to enable the additional menu features.
Have you tried deletting the plists for MAS?

Predefault "User Name" field with Login Name

Predefault in "LS Medical User Verification" BC does not work. I tried to do the following but all did not work:
* Put a predefault value in the "User Name" field, System: Creator
* Create a calc field "SCR Login", calc value: LoginName (). Set predefault of "User Name" field, Field: 'SCR Login"
* Expose "SCR Login" in the applet. Field is blank in UI.
We are using the vanilla "LS Medical User Verification Applet" for user verification and we want to predefault the User Name field with the current user logged in. How can I achieve this?

I believe Predefault/Postdefault will only work with NewRecord even and since the User Verification Popup Applet does not go to that event on load that is why it does not work.
Since the client wanted to default the user name with the current user logged in, we just removed the User name field from the popup applet and pass the TheApplication().LoginName() to the Authentication Business Service.

My senario is like this for your understading...
First I have loged in with one user and go to the one customized screens where I have list of all the portal users in a drop down.
Here I am selecting one User from the list and Click on Submit button...then new window should open with this(selected) user login...

it works only when, do this on fresh browser .. if someone has already Logged in and then try to open with different user name then it won't work.
if I'll change URL with other user in the same browser like this..
http://server:50000/irj/portal?j_user=demouser&j_password=Pa$$word
then shows only previous page.
But my requirement is to open different user page from the already logon user.
