Mail vs Processor

I have an interesting problem that I'm searching for an answer....
Seems to me that this has started happening after one of the last OS upgrades, but I probably wasn't paying attention to know which one it happened with.
What I have, is that I'll have all the mail picked up from the server and start to review it and there are those where I'll note the processor ramp all the way up to 100%, hanging for a bit until the next mail comes up. Now, I've been watching and it's not an issue where the next mail would be graphics or HTML heavy, it would just be text. Also, don't think it's an issue with anything that might be imbedded (virii) within, since it happens with mail from trusted sources that I've not had trouble with before....
I've done about all that I can think of, with permissions, prebinding and all....
Anyone else seen this??
TIA!
Marl

I use both.  Mail for personal stuff, and Thunderbird for work email.  And I use the iPod Touch email client to access both (via IMAP).  Gmail is my personal mail provided and I often use the web interface.
If you prefer the Thunderbird UI, then by all means use it.  If you use IMAP protocols and keep all your mail on your server, then you can use whatever email client you want and switch whenever you want.

  • How can I restore my Mail accounts from TM?

I recently switched ISPs.  So I opened the Mail preferences and deleted the POP user account from the old ISP.  Little did I realize that now I can't access all the 1000's of messages I have sent anymore!
I tried doing a Time Machine restore of User > Library > Mail... but that didn't work.
I tried doing a TM restore of Applications > Mail... but that didn't work.
What do I have to do to get my old ISP POP account back so I can access all my old messages?
I tend to use Mail as a word processor, so there's a lot of information there I need to get back.
    THANKS!
    jn

I figured it out.  By searching to find the missing bit.. which was in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder with the filename of com.apple.mail.plist. Note that this is not the same thing as replacing the entire /Home/Library/Mail/ folder."
But first you have to restore the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder with the filename of com.apple.mail.plist.
Then go back and restore the entire Mail folder.
WHEW!  I'm glad to have that back.  I didn't think the messages would all dissappear the way they did. I thought that only the current messages that hadn't been saved would vanish.  But no.... every email I sent for the last 7 years vanished!
I use Mail a great deal as a quick word processor replacement.  I think Apple would be smart to make a hybrid Mail / Word Processor.  I know I'd love it.
I find Pages is a pain and MS Word is an even bigger pain to use.
Good luck anyone with the same problem!

  • In my work  flow Invoice Details not geting  when Dispute case created?

    Hai Experts,
Im Working on Dispute case Workflow in FSCM module , I Created custom workflow for that ,
when ever Disputecase created notification send to Processor and Coordinator for that i created one Zclass
write the one of the that Zclass method for sending  the mail to processor and coordinator for those mail Id's,
Its working fine but the problem is on that mail i have to send the Invoice details also ,
for that im using the fm  'UDM_GET_BOR_OBJECT_KEY_INVOICE ' this FM not geting the data when dispute case is created,
its working in foreground and background, but the problem is in workflow it  is not geting the invoice details.
    please help me on this,,,
    thanks in adv..

    Hello,
"I Debug the FM, its throughs the Error
'No Configuration for the wrokflow Wfno version 0000'."
I doubt very much that the FM is showing that error. I assume you mean the workflow log.
The step that calls the task that calls the method that calls that FM, is that the one with that error message?
First check that the FM works in SE37 with the same inputs as when called from the workflow, and if it gives the expected output.
Try replacing that step with a different one to make sure there's no problem with the workflow itself. Make sure the workflow is activated without errors and do SWU_OBUF.

  • Spam from old, cached versions of web pages

I've been having some issues with spam recently getting through some contact forms - I had validation on them, including a code using ADDT as a kind of CAPTCHA. Not the greatest, but at least it was something, and has been issue free for a good couple of years. Anyway, I've since deleted all the pages from the site, but some spam emails are still getting through. The only thing I could think of is that bots are finding cached versions of pages, and filling them in from there.
Having deleted the offending pages from the server, is there anything else I can do to prevent this spam?

You deleted everything, or just the form pages? Did you delete the scripts too?
    >Would Google be caching it anywhere?
Impossible. Google can only cache client side content. Forms are processed on the server with server side scripting. Where you using a 3rd party mail script processor? Was your email address in a form field?

  • FSCM Dispute management workflow

Hi All, I have activated the workflow WS01700044 for dispute management email and notifications.
    event:  NONPROFESSIONALUSERSET
This event get triggered when dispute case is created or changed.
Now my issue is when I create a case, it is sending a mail to processor of case. But if I change the processor in t-code UDM_DISPUTE, it trigger the event and workflow but it is ending with error because field RECIPIENT in event come blank hence email step goes into error.
I have checked all email Ids are maintained in respective user profiles. Even it sends mail in create.
IF anyone know how to correct it, plese let me know.
    Thanks,

    Hi -
Even if you HAVE maintained an email address in the user profile, emails are not automatic.
Check with your Basis person to make sure outgoing emails aren't blocked.
You should also check the workflow status from within the case itself. The 044 workflow is pretty clear on showing that there will be a red box because a workflow event failed. Check there and report back here.

    Hi,
If the headers of the message changed at all between the gmail server, and the IronPort, then the DKIM hash will be incorrect, and it will fail.
You mentioned a mailing list server, and I can see the list headers in your sample. I assume these were added "in between" gmail and the IronPort, thus causing the DKIM hash to be incorrect.

  • High processor use and blank messages in Yosemite mail

    Hello
I am noticing very high processor use from Yosemite Mail, and I am also having problems with blank messages.
Under Mavericks, I had a problem where I double click on a mail message to open it.  The message would flash on the screen for a moment and then disappear.  The message in my inbox would be marked as read.  I could then open it again and read it normally.  Over time, I tracked this down as having to do with Mail doing anything else when I requested to open the email.  For instance, if I delete a message and then immediately try to open the next message, the problem would occur.  If I waited 5 seconds or so, then opened the next message, the problem would not occur.
Now, under Yosemite, I find that if I open a message quickly after performing another task, the message window is blank and never fills in.  I can close that message window and open it again, it may work, or it may still be blank.  I have found where certain messages appear to be stuck and will open blank until I open a different message and then come back to the problem message.
I have also noticed that Mail under Yosemite appears to use very high percentages of processor time.   Checking the activity monitor, Mail is third behind WindowServer and kernel_task for processor usage.  And I have another question on the community about my system running hot with the fan spooling up and down constantly under Yosemite, something that almost never happened under any of the previous OS's going back to Snow Leopard.
Any idea what is going on with the Mail app in Yosemite?  I was excited about Mail finally advancing in capability, but it seems to have come at a cost.....  Come on Apple - Mail needs to catch up with Outlook!

I also have this problem since Yosemite upgrade. Infuriating because I can't just read incoming emails anymore. It seems to be specific to one email account and doesn't necessarily cause a problem with others. When this happens, (showing the content for a second then disappearing), there is a segmentation fault reported in the error log.
For me, this is a category one critical business problem. If I can't read and reply to incoming email reliably on my computer, I will need to switch to another system or device that can.
24/10/2014 14:51:34.839 com.apple.xpc.launchd[1]: (com.apple.imfoundation.IMRemoteURLConnectionAgent) The _DirtyJetsamMemoryLimit key is not available on this platform.

Good news is that the email app does seem to work a bit quicker than before using Mavericks where it could hang for 10-20 seconds for no particular reason.
Hope this can be fixed or a workaround posted soon.

I have a 2008 vintage iMac with 2.8GHz processor and recently upgraded to  OS X 10.9.5.  Soon after theupgrade the mail system started switching the senders address to another address, but same user name.  How do you fix this?

Thanks for the reply,.  I went to the site provided and executed the directions but this did not solve the issue.
    Even more details:
If I send a message to the Jane Doe address from another account on this machine (all my family uses the same email services provider and each have accounts set up on this machine), when you open it, it shows Jane Doe then the <applejax.xx> address AND the picture associated with the Apple Jax account.
So the problem shows up when the message is sent to this account from this machine, AND when it is sent from this machine from this account.  No other accounts on the machine are effected.
I have sent and received email messages from the mail service provider's website, and everything is fine.

    Hello,
You can't upgrade to any faster, & especially not to an Intel CPU needed to run Lion/10.7 for full iCloud usage.
You can have limited use of iCloud the way it is, you can view all of iCloud in a Browser, You can use Find my Phone I hear, & you can use IMAP Mail for syncing, but no other syncing.

  • Mail uses 100% processor

When mail starts to download some messages from the Exchange server the processor goes to 100% and stays there.  I have to force quit and reopen.  Anyone else having this issue?  I've had Lion installed since the release and this just started a couple of days ago.  Any ideas?
    Thanks!

First thing I'd do is rebuild the mailbox for whichever account it is that's causing the trouble.
In the top menubar of Mail, choose 'Mailbox > Rebuild'.

  • Service Desk: E-Mail notification when processor is changed

    Hi experts,
At the moment I'm implementing a Service Desk scenario. I want to send a e-mail notification to the NEW processor of a service desk message when the processor is changed in a message.
    An example:
User A is the current processor of a message. He's no longer responsible so sets User B as message processor, so User B is the new processor and should get an E-Mail-Notification.
My actual problem is to get a helpful condition configuration which checks if the old processor is not equal to the new processor, could you help me with this topic?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Werner
I think they worked out a solution to the same problem in this thread.
Support Desk - Send an email to the message processor
    Hope that helps!

  • Mail consuming excessive processor power

In the last day or two, Mail is consuming between 60-85% of CPU power according to activity monitor, causing the processor to run hot and the fan to cycle up to high.  Mail has crashed a couple of times, too.  I recently moved a lot of old messages to archives and synchronized all accounts.
I am currently running two accounts on Mail, iCloud and my work Exchange account.  My system admin at work reports no problems with the Exchange server.
    Any help is appreciated!

Has this issue been resolved?  I'm having the same error and problem and would be interested to learn more.
Linc Davis... if it helps, here are the lines from Console before, during, and after deleting the cache.db file in com.apple.mail folder.  Mail is now working well at CPU% < 1% at idle and jumping up to 38% to fetch a new mail message.  This CPU% problem happens often.  Is there a way to resolve the issue or will this process of closing Mail and deleting the cache.db file have to be repeated regularly?
    Thanks,

    8/13/13 11:32:20.710 AM Mail[1441]: Using V2 Layout

  • Mail keeps crashing and overloading processor

I am completely confused by a particual users mail issue.  Every other day or so, the user gets a spinning wheel and the emails will not load as quickly as they are typically supposed to any time there is an attachment.
So in troubleshooting, I recreated his email account. I deleted and started with a new user. I have recently installed a new hdd. I then moved his user account to a new machine to prove the memory and logic board is not part of the equation.
And with all of these attempts, today his email is still givnig him the spinning ball and will nopt pull down his emails as quickly as it should.
We are hosting our email on google apps.  Not any other users are having any similar type of issues. I have copied the error/hang log below for your review.
Thanks for any advise you can give me.
    Much appreciated.
