Mail won't sync with icloud.

I have an iphone 4 32gb, Win 7 x64, itunes 11.02.26, ios 6.1.2, and Outlook 2010.  Recently had to do a complete Windows reinstall from scratch, but everything was backed up and is up and running normally again.
The iTunes info tab for my iphone says that my contacts, calenders, tasks are being synced with my iphone over the air with icloud.  The mail is not.  Previously it was.  The icloud control panel only says the 'contacts, calenders and tasks with outlook' being synced, but mail is not listed. Clicking on the message only unchecks the tickbox.
MS Outlook has my @me.com account installed and working and 3 other email accounts, and the icloud refresh button on the toolbar is working ok.  The same mail accounts are installed on the iphone and work ok.  My phone and Outlook can each access all my mail accounts seperately without a problem.  At present I have left the mail tickbox unchecked on the itunes info page for my iphone.  (I dont want to mess up the information on either unless I have to).  There are no checkboxes for the contacts, calenders or tasks as they are using icloud.  Under 'settings/general/icloud' on my iphone, Mail and calenders are both selected to ON.
When I try to log into icloud.com, I get a message that 'icloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server', but the system status check shows no problem.
How do I get my mail to sync between outlook and icloud the same as calenders, contacts, tasks and bookmarks?
Regards,
Freespeed2

If I understand what you are saying, iCloud seems like its over-hyped and is pretty useless for Mail and Calendar. It makes no sense to me to have Calendar and Mail available on iCloud if it doesn't show the same Calendar and Mail that is on your iMac and iPad.
Yes, my Calendar syncs with Google as well as on the iPad and iMac. Why shouldn't it also sync with iCloud?
Because it's a Google Service not an iCloud service, you can still sync it to your Mac and your devices, just not using iCloud.

They synchronize fine between iMac and iPad. Contacts, Notes and Reminders are the only categories that do sync with iCloud on my iMac.  I am running the latest Mountain Lion upgrade.

When you say it won't sync with iCloud, do you mean with iCloud.com or iCloud on a mac.

  • I downloaded iOS 7 and now my notes won't sync with iCloud

I downloaded iOS 7 and now my notes won't sync with iCloud.  Also, all of my notes on iCloud aren't on my phone anymore, but they are still on my computer. Can somebody please advise how to fix this issue?  Thank you!

Sounds like they are being overwritten by the server as soon as you reconnect.  With some effort you may be able to prevent this and recover your notes if you try the steps in Winston Churchill's post here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/22600445#22600445.

  • MacBook Pro won't sync with iCloud, although iPhone and iPad are fine.

My MacBook Pro keeps telling me it can't sync with iCloud because my password may be incorrect. I keep re-entering the correct password, but this keeps on happening. iCloud seems to be working fine with iPhone and iPad.  Also, there are 2 iCloud accounts showing on my MacBook, but if I try to delete one, it seems to delete both.

Your signature says you have 10.3.x but presumably this can't be correct - could you please make sure it's correct to prevent confusion. 10.7.2 is required for iCloud - your Mac won't be able to sync with pre-Lion systems.
The fact that you have iCloud accounts showing does suggest you have Lion: are they showing in System Preferences>iCloud, or where? You can only enter one there.
Are the two different or the same? You could try deleting both and then starting the setup again from scratch.

  • Computer won't sync with icloud

After installing Lion and enabling icloud on my macbook pro...it won't sync to icloud.  I've logged in on the internet to see my icloud account and no new entries put in my calendar from my laptop are there.  New enteries from my iphone 4s are in icloud (on line) - but are not synced to the computer or vice versa?  What's up?

There's no need to do anything on the phone which is plainly working.
While in theory I agree with you 99%, I've noticed iCloud seems so glitchy at times, (new technology?) that I've seen enough strange things so I try to make sure I don't burn off an extra 4 hours of trouble-shooting because of one little step such as this.

  • Mail won't sync with gmail

Mail app won't sync with my gmail account. I've tried deleting my gmail account and setting it up again, but am getting an error message that my user name or password is incorrect. My iPhone Mail app isn't syncing with gmail either - same error message. I can get into gmail through Safari. I sure would appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks.

I can log in to gmail through Safari, using the same login/pass I've always used. When I check the error message in Mail, the error is: "The server returned the error: Account exceeded bandwidth limits. (Failure)." Never had a bandwith issue before, ever.
that's a different issue. you said before that it didn't like the password. what it actually doesn't like is the number of simultaneous connections. quit Mail on all other computers/phones you use to access gmail and try setting it up in Mail on this computer again.

  • Won't sync with icloud

When I create a document in Pages on my MacBook Pro it won't sync to iCloud. It just shows an outline of a cloud with the word 'waiting'. I can sync documents between www.icloud.com and my iPad. Any ideas?

  • IPhone Contacts won't sync with iCloud

    Hi!
I have my Macbook Pro and iPhone 4S synced with iCloud, so everything I do in one device shows up in the other.

  • Pages 5 won't sync with iCloud

My iphone and ipad and icloud.com iWork documents all sync with each other but the new Pages for Mac with Mavericks doesn't see them. It seems to have its own documents unrelated to what's on icloud. I have Documents and Data turned on in System Prefs and I am logged in to all devices with the same Apple ID. How can I get the new iWorks apps to sync with icloud?

I wish Apple would fix this. I'm dying here--I essentially have no iWork apps anywhere, since whatever I create with any app is only readable by that app on that device. iCloud synching is just broken.

  • HT4191 What do you do if Notes won't sync with iCloud?

I've set Notes up on my iMac, iphone 5 and iPad (3).   I recall that they used to all sync with icloud just fine....but now, when I add to my Notes on my iphone, it no longer pushs to either my iMac or my iPad.
I've set everything up according to the directions from Apple...but still they will not push.
    Any suggestions?

  • My PC won't sync with icloud

I can sync my calendar between my I phone and icloud.com, but if I enter a appointment in my calendar on my iphone or on icloud the appointment will not show up in my Outlook calendar on my PC. Conversely, if I enter an appointment in my outlook calendar on my PC, the appointment will not show up on icloud or in my calendar on my iphone.
How do I get my PC to sync with icloud?

Go through the troubleshooting steps in this article listed under "Troubleshooting on Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Outlook)": iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar.  In particular make sure the iCloud Outlook add-in is active within Outlook.

  • My macbook won't sync with icloud

My iMac syncs with icloud, but my Macbook will not.  The iMac is Lion 10.7.3, but  the Macbook is Snow Leopard 10.6.8

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Thats correct, 10.7.2 or better is required for iCloud, your 10.6.8 MacBook needs updating (assuming it will)

  • My mail won't sync with microsoft exchange account

    Macbook pro 10.8.1
I have my Mail setup to sync with a Microsft Exchange Account. All syncs between my exchange account, my iPad and iPhone. However on my laptop, old messaged that I deleted ages ago are still there. I get new mail, so I know that it is syncing at some level. When I try to delete the old messages, it tells me I cannot delete them....they are like a lingering shadow that is annoying as there are about 20 of them!

Add it as an Outlook account, but still use your full email adress as a hotmail address.
