Mail wrong email seen by recipient

hello
my collegue has set up an email account on his macbook pro 10.7 and when he sends an email out the recipients see the email address as glen with one n rather than glenn. so when people reply they send to something that is not there and get a return to sender. This is strange as the sent address in the settings is glenn not glen.
This isn't a server issue as it is on his work imac g5 computer and sends correctly. It must be an error when putting the info in but I can't see where. it is an outlook Exchange mail server and not with our company so i can't look at the settings in that.
is there a simple way to sort this out or, if not how can I remove the email account, set it up again but retain the old emails?

If you can't use the mail app now - if it is frozen - quit the app and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close mail by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down onthe mail app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

If that doesnt help try resetting the iPad. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

That is good. In that case, your one and only account has not changed, just the login credentials you use for it. All your previous purchases will remain associated with that account, and the new login.
In essence, an AppleID is an email, but it has two parts. One is the login email address and password everyone traditionally thinks of as an AppleID. But that in turn is linked to an account with Apple. As long as you use the manage Apple ID portal to just change the email address and/or password for your exisiting AppleID, then the internal account tracks along with those changes as well.
However, on your iOS devices, you will need to log out and then log back in with the new login credentials:
settings -> iTunes & App Stores - tap your AppleID, and choose log out. Then log back in with the new email address and new password.

i'm using mail on osx 10.7 with multiple gmail accounts. when i create an email, i check to be sure i'm sending/replying from the correct account. after i send it, somehow it actually sends it from a different account, other than the one i've selected "from." this is evidenced by the reply email i receive. how can i fix this?
in preferences, i have "send new messages from : account of selected mailbox"

From the Mail menu bar, select
          Mail ▹ Preferences...
The Mail preference dialog opens. Select the Composing tab from the row of icons at the top. From the menu labeled
          Send new messages from:
choose
          Account of selected mailbox
Note that this setting may have no effect if you start a new message while a VIP or smart mailbox is selected in the mailbox list. Those are saved searches, not actual mailboxes.
If the problem remains, select the Accounts tab in the preference dialog, then select the affected account in the list on the left.
In the Account Information pane, select the correct server in the menu labeled
          Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
If there's only one server in the menu, select

I suspect that you are using the Forwarding option within Workgroup Manager, and this works outside of the postfix alias scheme. I think you should just set those users you are forwarding to, to normal mail users, and put their forwarding rules ALSO in the alias file, so you would have:
MAILER-DAEMON: postmaster
postmaster: alex,yong
alex: [email protected]
That should do it. You really have to commit to either using Workgroup Manager or Postfix in their entirety. They don't really work too nicely in conjunction with each other.

It looked in Mail, which had 5 email accounts set up in it, and for some reason picked the only one that I no longer use because it is for a school that I no longer attend. How can I fix it so that it syncs with the correct email account for notes and calendar? There don't seem to be any settings available other than to check if you want to use the basic features. It also said during the set up that it was setting up 'find my mac' but if I look on the iCloud website there is nothing showing there for finding my mac.

iCloud isn't syncing them on your phone. You simply added the email account to your phone and enabled calendar and notes syncing with the email provider, and the calendar and notes appear in the calendar and notes apps on your phone. You can do this with Gmail, Yahoo and other IMAP account. iCloud email is just another IMAP account, but syncs notes with Apple's iCloud server just as Gmail syncs notes and calendars with Google's server.
iCloud didnt' set up a non-iCloud account on your Mac. When you check Mail in System Preferences>iCloud, it only creates an iCloud email account. You can also add other email accounts to your Mac by going to System Preferences>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and clicking on the "+" sign on the bottom of the left sidebar. If you added these other email accounts to your Mac before you upgraded to Mountain Lion, these were simply maintained on your Mac after you upgraded.

I assume this is Apple Mail. Try this:
Preferences > Accounts > your-first-account
Select Outgoing Mail Server of account/name you wish to use and check Use only this server
Repeat for other accounts.

In Windows, the correct email is set at the default email and Outlook is my default email application. It is only Acrobat that defaults to the wrong email account. How can I fix this?

You are facing this error because Outlook is your default email Client and you have configured it for different e-mail Address than the one which you intend to send mail from.
So i would recommend you to either Add the other e-mail account( The one from which you want to send file) in outlook so that you have a choice while sending the file.
OR
You can remove the currently configured e-mail account from outlook, and reconfigure outlook for that e-mail address which you want to use for file sending purpose.
P.S.- Acrobat will always use the e-mail address associated with your Default e-mail Client ( Outlook in your case.)

Send GR output by email to GR recipient

Hi,
The requirement is to send the GR output by email to GR recipient at item level.
We have maintained the email ID of teh Gr recipient in SU01.
I have set up the output type WE01 for the transmission medium 5 - external send.
When I trigger an output for WE01 and transmission medium 5, the output is by default sent to the GR creator.
Is there some way in which partner function of GR recipient can be added so that the email is sent to the GR recipient?
If this is not possible through normal output determication, is there soem standard workflow or a user exit available to fulfil this requirement?

The GR recipient is a standard SAP field. It can be seen in the material document (where tab in MIGO).
It gets acrried over from the PM oredr or the purchase requisition - Account assignment tab.

I believe that, at present, there is no way to remove an incorrectly entered e-mail address short of erasing your iPad. The iPad will continue to remember the wrong address and offer it as a possibility when entering an address.

OK, I'm new at this so here goes.

Make sure you have removed the tick for hide extensions in the save as panel and for best compatibilirty choose the format as Word 97-2004 (.DOC) or better still Rich text format (.RTF)
If the extension is not appended any one with a Windows PC will be unable to open the document.
Windows is dumb and without the extension doesn't know what programme is supposed to open the file !
That said they CAN add the extension themselves if they know what application created the document in the first place.
Also in the mail app click on the Edit menu at the top of the screen scroll down to attachments and in the pop out menu make sure Always send windows friendly attachments is ticked.

I have been using Mail since I bought my Mac but I have a recurrent problem.
When I send a Mail with email attachement, it duplicates the extension. For instance : .doc become .docc, or .pdf become .pdfpdf.
I tried some manipulations such as : Check or not : "Mask File Extension" in "File Information", and :"Send email attachement Windows compatible" in Mail : the results are the same.
The last straw ? When I try with Gmail or Orange in Safari, the attachements work well and my contacts can read them.
I don't understand.
I will appreciate any answer.

Are you sure it is Mail sending them wrong and not their email client mangling them when they arrive?
It is apparently Mail's fault. It has to do with sending attachments with accented characters. While this a poor workaround for you, don't use accented characters in attachment names until Apple fixes it. Or add a message to your email to save the attachment and fix the extension. If they do that, it will open just fine.
