Mailbox and Client Access on the same servers for CAS HA (L4 LB) and Mailbox DAG

Hi, I would like to ask this question.
I'm reading all sort of documentation that I'm finding on the internet, but I can't understand if what I'm thinking to do is possible.
I would like to setup a basic environment configuring only two Exchange 2013 on two Win 2012 R2 servers. Both servers will be Mailbox (MBX) and Client Access (CAS). I will create a two-member DAG using File Share Witness or Disk Witness for the Dynamic Quorum.
Then I will setup Outlook Anywhere with internal and external namespace for CAS redundancy and layer 4 load balancing.
In this scenario I will not need to install a third part load balancer.
Am I doing right or I watching a movie?

You could need to have the HLB or virtual load balancers for redundancy.
Disadvantages of some load balancing methods :
If you use Windows NLB then it can provide redundancy on server level failure and not on application level.
In case if we use the windows round robin method for load balancing then it wouldn't provide server level and application level redundancy during the failures.At the Same time we need to manually adjust the DNS records during the server failure but on the
client end dns caches will create the issues.
Lets consider you are having the internal and external names for outlook anywhere like below .
internal and external outlook anywhere name :
mail.domain.com
For the above name just configure the HOST A record in windows DNS and map it to load balancer ip.Then the second step would be to configure your exchange servers in LB .So all the internal and external outlook client connectivity will happen via LB to exchange
servers.In that case if anyone of the server is down then LB will automatically make the outlook client to get connected to the server which is alive and at the same time none of the request from outlook client to LB will get forward to the server which is
in down state.
Note : Make sure you are having the redundancy for LB devices also otherwise it would be a single point of failure on the LB end .

You need to reconfigure your phone for use with your Apple ID. I suggest you restore yours as new then reconfigure it with your information and Apple ID. Be sure to disable Find My Phone, if it's enabled, before proceeding.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

Why can't Primary and Sub accounts be accessed on the same page?

I have a Primary email account and also a sub account. I normally use Windows Mail to access my email. In Windows Mail, I can read emails sent to either account, and can also send from either account.
The only time I go to the Webmail page is when I am traveling and can't access my home computer. In Verizon Webmail, I can only check the account I log in with. It's very annoying and time consuming to log in, check one account, sign out, and then log in to check the other account. By the way I use the same password for both accounts. Is there anyway that this can be changed? It should at least give us the option to add a sub account on the same page as the primary account.

If you are wanting the messages to come to the same account, an alias would serve you better than a sub account.
If you really want all of the mail to be in one inbox, set your sub account up in the primary account to be accessed via pop3, or set forwarding on the sub to the primary. That would cause all of your mail to be accessible via the priamry login, but you would still have to log in with the sub to send from that address.

The same SSID used at 3 sites and the same vlan for client IP assignment?

we are deploying 5508 controller and LW APs for wireless IP phone 7925G
Controller is installed at site A and there are APs and wireless phones at site B and C as well.
1. can I use the same SSID for all three sites for wireless phones? or have to use 3 distinct SSIDs?
2. If I can use the same SSID, can I associate one subnet e.g 10.10.131.0/24 for wireless IP phones at 3 sites? (our Cisco UCM is fine with this)
3. if I have use 3 distinct SSIDs, do I have to assign three subnets for IP phones at three sites?

That is, by default the WLAN will get pushed to all APs.. so if you have a single wlan then this will broadcast the SSID and the remotre site clients will connect to it..

Not yet tried .I have established multiple instances of essbase as windows services on a single server.This one will be priority to test it out.
if you have a different vmwares ,then install 11.1.2.3 in vm 1 and configure the shared services .In Vm 2 install the essbase 11.1.1.3 & try to configure with shared services 11.1.2.3.
11.1.1.3 by default runs on Tomcat where as 11.1.2.3 by default runs on Weblogic.I have not tried this one .This is a sample gesture from my end.
But in 9.2 version ,I had my 9.2 essbase running in one machine and in other machine i had my 9.3.1 shared services running and was configured with essbase 9.2.I was able to provision users from shared services 9.3.1 to 9.2 essbase

Obvious question: If you want to have access to the same folders andapplications, why have two accounts? The point of different accounts is that you don't have access to the other person's data.
Any application in the HD/Applications folder is available in all accounts.
Sharing data between accounts depends on the material being shared. So, if you can provide more details we maybe able to help you better.

View data in client B from client A in the same SID without a valid logon?

We are planning on upgrading our 4.6C system to ERP 6.0, and are initialy considering having two clients in the same sandbox SID. One would be for the developers to perform code remediation checks (client A), and one would contain a copy of production data for performing testing of functionality over live data (client B).
Would it be possible to view data in client B from client A in the same system without a valid logon to client B or RFC connection to client B from client A? For example via the use on an ABAP program to SQL the database?
I know one can use transactions like SM30/SM31 to view, compare, and adjust data between clients, but this requires an RFC connection and valid logon to the target client.

Short answer: yes.
If someone has the right to write and execute ABAP reports on the system he is able to access the data of all clients. So I don't think that this setup is advisable. Don't mix development and production data in one system.

Select the radio button corresponding to u201Elayout Set‟, and choose u201EConsumerExplorer‟ from the dropdown.

Now, remove the u201ESuper Administrator‟ role from the user km_admin and login with this user.

Most likely the user km_admin still has system principal roles assigned, even though you removed the Super Admin role, you should check that this user doesn't have any other admin roles, otherwise it will be considered a System Principal user and will therefore still have access to all content. Try creating a new user with just read access to the content and you should see that it will not be able to make any changes etc.

Simultaneous Access to the same queue

Could some one please clarify how does the AQ mechanism handle requests in the following scenario:
Two applications are both talking to the same Queue using the same consumer for dequeuing messages. The dequeuing happens under a main transaction and the dequeue mode is set to REMOVE. The messages is completely removed from the queue when the transaction is committed at the end of processing the message. Also, the dequeue API is through stored procedures.
I would like to know if, while one application has dequeued a message and is still processing it as a part of the transaction, what happens when the second application tries to access the same queue and try to dequeue a message. Would it get the same message that the first application is still processing and is not yet been completely dequeued.

Client Settings Sharing the Same Priority

I have a dozen Client Settings and noticed that two of my Client Settings share the same priority (Priority 5) and one of them skips two priorities (10 & 11), see screenshot. Increasing or decreasing the priority
on these dose not seem to reset the priority number, i.e. if I decrease #9 it moves to #12 and #12 to #9 and the same if I increase #12. I was hoping increaseing #12 would reset it to #11 but that's not the case. The same goes for the two #5's,
they stay no mater what I do.
Anyone seen this? Any thoughts? I do not know if it is effecting anything and the 9/12 ones don't consern me as much as the two 5's do. I'm not sure which #5 has more priority then the other.

Below is a workaround for your reference. You’d better call CSS first, as this workaround is not a supported configuration and not eligible for official support.
Connected to Database CM_XXX.
Run the following query :
select * from dbo.clientsettings
Take the Client agent setting's uniqueid
Run the following query :
Update dbo.ClientSettings set Priority=5
where UniqueID='{A38602E1-AEC1-43F9-B3E1-CF2155099D2E}'
Check the priority on the console now.

Skipping the RMI if ejb client is in the same box as WLS.

does weblogic skip RMI if the ejb client is on the same machine as WLS?
if it does, is that automatic or do we need to set anything?

If the ejb client is (for example) a servlet hosted by WLS and the ejb is in
the same instance of WLS then it skips the RMI. Otherwise it uses RMI.

Two MI Clients running on the same system

Hi All,
I have a MI Client running on my desktop.
I want to install another MI Client without uninstalling it i.e. I want to have two running fully functional MI Clients on my desktop.
Is this possible, how do I do it?

(I tried to rename the existing MI root folder and then running the setup.exe of MI client, then I cut&pasted the whole MI root folder into my D drive and then tried running the setup.exe - both times when I ran the setup.exe it asked first to Remove my current installation... )

PS: Forgot to mention one additional stuff. I you plan to run both the clients simultaneous, then you need to change the tomcat port on the client since two clients cannot share the same port. To change the port of the client do the following.
Under your MI home folder go to "CONF" directory and open "server.xml" file and in here change the following value from 4444 to any other value. (4444 is the default port)

Similiarly add the following properties in the MobileEngine.config file present in the SETTINGS folder of MI Client.
MobileEngine.Runtime.Port = <YOUR NEW PORT NO>
MobileEngine.Jsp.HomeUrl = http://localhost:<YOUR NEW PORT NO>/
Add a file named port.txt in the MI Home folder and in it mention <YOUR NEW PORT NO> without any other values.

Allow Multiple Computers Access To The Same Port

I just received my AEBS in the mail this afternoon & set it up in no time. My college house has two Xbox 360s connected to the AEBS & I would like to open the NAT ports on both. I'm able to successfully forward the ports to allow an open NAT for one Xbox, but the Airport utility doesn't allow me to open the same ports for the other Xbox.
Is there a way to open a port to everyone connected to the router, or maybe a way to open a specific port used by multiple Private IP Addresses?

Sorry, but no. Port mapping forwards inbound a single, or range, of ports (in one definition) to one single machine only. So, for example, you could not map port 25 to multiple email servers on your LAN. However, you could map port 25 (for email) and port 80 (for web) to a single device.

Having two oracle clients installed at the same time

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to have two oracle clients installed at the same time on one computer, and if there is a way to be changing the default client between the two. I need to have installed the oracle client 10g and 8 versions on the same computer, because we have a problem with a legacy application that for some reason only works with version 8, and we need the 10g because our new applications requires 8.1 or later. We are still migrating to the new system but we developers need to have the two clients. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is it possible, sure.
Technically, clients before 8.1.5 were not multi-home compliant, so having Oracle 8 and Oracle 10g clients on the same machine is almost certainly not supported. On the other hand, I know that a number of developers at Oracle had combinations of Oracle 7 clients Oracle 8 clients, Oracle 8i clients, and Oracle 9i clients on their development machines at the same, so you shouldn't have too many major issues.
Most "default client" issues come down to which ORACLE_HOME is first in the system's PATH. Ideally, you would leave the Oracle 8 ORACLE_HOME first in the path and explicitly reference the 10g ORACLE_HOME when configuring anything that relies on the 10g client.
