Mailbox icon size under Mailboxes column

Hi,
I LOVE Lion!  Here's a "dumn" question.  In "MAIL" - I seem to prefer the "Classic" layout, so in the Preferences of MAIL under 'viewing' - that's what I've chosen.  Good!
But in the Mailbox column, the folders and icons just seem a bit large or spaced to far apart?  Jut asking . . . any way to set their size to be smaller?  I've looked, but can't seem to find where you can do that.  If you can?
No big deal . . . but frequently with Apple, you can adjust relative sizes of diferent things!
Thansk,
Larry

OMG!!!  How did I miss THAT!   Duhhh!!. . . . .
Thanks very very much.  You gotta love these chat boards!

  • Mail 5: Change font size in Mailboxes column?

    Pretty happy with Mail 5 so far (one day in).
    Is there any way to change the font size for the left Mailboxes column? It's larger than the other two, and larger than I prefer.

    Also in the new layout which personally I think is dreadful and thank god I can still use classic, the display unread messages in bold option does not work as all messages are shwon in bold whether they have been read or not. This only works in Classic mode.

    How Do I Get My Junk Mail Icon Back Under MAILBOXES ?
    It seems to have disappeared and I have know idea what I did.

    In each account, is Junk filtering enabled -- Mail Preferences/Junk Mail? Also, have you selected (account by account) to move any Junk message to the Junk Mailbox?

  • "On My Mac" and AOL server are in mailbox column -- where is real email?

    am trying to help my father get transferred off AOL (but he is keeping his AOL email address, and is going to access it using Mac Mail). We ran the AOL Service Assistant, and got his mail and address book transferred from AOL. However, I don't understand how it has set up his mail. One problem is I use 10.4.10, but he uses 10.3, and I am helping him remotely, and I don't entirely remember what the 10.3 Mail looks like.
    In the mailbox column, it has In, Out, Draft and Sent, all of which I understand. Under that it says On May Mac, and inside that there is a folder named with his AOL account. And under that (at the same level as On My Mac) there is a server labeled with his AOL account. My question is, what is the difference between the mail in these three areas? Is the folder inside the On My Mac the same as the folders at the top level (In, Out, Drafts, Sent)? Is the email under the AOL server icon simply the email that is still on the server?
    When he cancels AOL, will he still be able to leave email on the server, or should he set it to delete as soon as he downloads it?
    And, a possibly related question -- we also did another person's email this way, who has a lot more email, and for some reason many of the messages in the In box seem to only have a header -- there is no body to the message. How do we get it to transfer everything?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hello,
    If has more than one account, the Inbox icon, for example, should have a black triangle if the accounts have been correctly added via the assistant. If that triangle is pointing sideways, then he clicks on it, it should turn downward, and reveal the Inbox for each account. If he does not have but the one account, then the Inbox should be that of the AOL account. Same with Sent Drafts, etc.
    If the triangle beside Inbox reveals other folders such as Sent Items, click to open that, and then click Mailbox in the menubar, place cursor on Use this Mailbox for and choose Sent.
    AOL is IMAP access, so can be tricky. The folders under AOL lower in the Sidebar are for other archiving. AOL only allows messages to stay in the Inbox and Sent folder for 27 days, and then you must Move the messages to the Saved folder to keep longer on the server. Of course, various On My Mac mailboxes can be created to save messages, and those will be on the hard drive of his Mac.
    In Mail 2.x and OS 10.4.10 there is no longer a separator for On My Mac in the Sidebar, but is with 10.3.x and Mail 1.3.x
    This may or may not be such a good idea to have switched him without being in front of his computer to provide some instruction

  • Why don't VIP names show up in the Mailboxes column on Mail for Yosemite?

    I added a couple of new colleagues to my VIP list in mail yesterday after installing Yosemite. The colleagues were added to the VIP list, but their names are not displayed in the Mailboxes column. Everything about the VIP functionality works -- the messages I expect to find when clicking on the un-named stars in the list are the right messages. Only the name label is missing:
    I've tried the obvious things: quitting and relaunching Mail, logging out/logging back in, restarting my MacBook.
    This is an Office365 Exchange email account.
    Anyone else see this problem or have suggestions for how to get the names attached to the stars in the VIP mailbox list?

    You backed the phone up to iCloud, but what were you syncing the contacts with? Apparently, it wasn't iCloud...

  • How to bind a icon in the table column

    Hi All
        I have to bind a icon in a table column.

    Choose a table cell editor for that column that is able to display an icon, e.g. Caption, Image, LinkToAction
    Create a context attribute "iconURL" under the data source node of the table.
    Bind the corresponding property of the table cell editor, e.g. Image.source, to this attribute.
    At runtime, the data source node will have elements. Element at index i will be displayed in table row i.
    Set the "iconURL" attribute of each node element to the icon URL to be displayed in the table row.
    You can use the predefined icons by using an URL of the form "~sapicons/<icon_filename>", or you can put your icons inside folder src/mimes/components/<componentName> and use the filename as URL.

  • Setting size of JTable columns

    Hi everybody,
    Can anyone help me ?
    How can I set a column widths of a JTable, but also allow the user to resize them ?
    I tried with a code like
    TableColumnModel tableColumnModel = table.getColumnModel();
    for (int i=0; i < columnsSizes.length; i++) {
       if (columnsSizes[i] > 0) {
            tableColumnModel.getColumn(i).setPreferredWidth(preferedSizeArray);
    But it doesn't work :(
    When i do [ define the minWidth and maxWidth ]
    TableColumnModel tableColumnModel = table.getColumnModel();
    for (int i=0; i < columnsSizes.length; i++) {
        if (columnsSizes[i] > 0) {
            tableColumnModel.getColumn(i).setMinWidth(preferedSizeArray);
    tableColumnModel.getColumn(i).setMaxWidth(preferedSizeArray[i]);
    Columns's sizes are exactly what i want but ... the colums are no more resizable.
    So,
    if anyone can help me and tell me how can i set a predefined size for some colums and also allow the user to resize them ... that would be kind from him.
    Thanks

  • Lion icon sizes keep changing

    So ever since upgrading to Lion I have been having a weird issue with my file icons. Essentially, I have certain files in certain folders set to be certain sizes, and with Snow Leopard there were no issues. Now, however, the file icon sizes seem to change on their own. For example, I will resize 5 folders of files to be 24. When I come back to said folders, some of them will still be set to 24, while others will be set back to 128. This seems to happen at complete random, and I have noticed no pattern to their changing. Some files will stay the way I size them, some won't, some will for a while and then they will resize, etc.
    What is the deal with this?

    Hi,
    Did you mean you would like to use the same view for all folders besides folders in Documents?
    If so, you can open Folder option when you are at your Document folder, and under View tab, choose

  • How do I turn off and on the icon size slider bar at the lower right status bar of a folder window.

    I have been trying for days to help a friend with a new iMac to turn on the icon size slider bar that on my iMac appears at the bottom of ever folder when it is open when in the "view" > "icon" mode.  I cannot find anything that discusses this slider bar.  I can turn this status bar off and on on both my machine and my friends machine, but I cannot turn off or on the slider on either machine.

    This did not help.  I am a Mac User since 1984 and generally I am never stymied buy the Mac OS, but this one has me.   I can open and close the lower status bar, as you described, and that works fine for me because I have the icon slider bar already there and it works fine; however when I open the lower status bar on my friends machine there is no icon size slider bar, and I can't seem to find out how to get it there, as it is on my machine or at all. The icon size can be controlled from the View menu, but as a photographer, it is really handy to have it at the bottom of the folder window.  Thanks for trying.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 UI Menu Text And Icon Size?

    so i really like that adobe has added the "experimental" option to increase the ui menu text and icon size in photoshop cc 2014, it was almost unreadable on my 2560 x 1440 27" monitor with photoshop cs4 and illustrator cs4, but the lone 200% setting is too big... seems that 125%, 150%, or maybe even 175% would be much better solutions. in fact, for reasons i can't quite understand, the ui text and icon size in illustrator cc 2014 is spot on, absolutely perfect on my monitor, even tho there is no option for increased ui size as far as i can tell, it was spot on the moment i installed and launched it.
    in short, the photoshop cs4 and illustrator cs4 user interfaces were identical in size as far as i could tell, and far too small on my 2560 x 1440 27" monitor. in terms of cc 2014, the illustrator ui is perfect out of the box on my monitor, considerably larger than illustrator cs4, while the photoshop cc 2014 ui is identical to cs4, tiny, but can be enlarged 200% which makes the ui too big. why couldn't/didn't adobe just make the photoshop cc 2014 base ui the exact same size as the illustrator cc 2014 ui? it would have been perfect (for my monitor size).

    thanks... just wish illustrator cc 2014 wasn't so perfect in terms of ui size, i mean it's just great and, consequently, makes it seem as if the ball was dropped with photoshop cc 2014... i mean how can one be spot on while the other be so far off?

  • How to place one column under another column in obiee report?

    Hi all,
    I am new to obiee, so need some help from obiee experts. Can anyone tell me how to place one column data under another column in obiee report?
    i need the report to be as below
    category total_students Course_enrollment Test_attended pass_test
    total N % N % N %
    all students ##### ## ## ## ## ## ##
    Ethnicity
    Asian ###### ## ## ## ## ## ##
    African American ###### ## ## ## ## ## ##
    white ######
    Filipino ######
    Gender
    Male ##### ## ## ## ## ## ##
    Female ##### ## ## ## ## ## ##
    and similarly for other columns
    where ethnicity, gender are columns in the table and Course_enrollment, Test_attended, pass_test are calculated columns.
    Please help me to create a report as above if anyone knows how to do it.
    Edited by: Shailaja on Jul 19, 2010 12:23 AM

    Two ideas I can think of:
    1) Create multiple pivot tables and then display them one under the other
    2) Create multiple measure columns such as "male_amt", "female_amt", "white_amt", "asian_amt", "black_amt", etc. for all the columns you need. Then you could simple stack them in a single pivot table.
    Option #2 might give you the prettiest results - but also requires a lot more maintenance (for instance, if you reclassify ethnic groups, you'd have to go through the reports to add additional metric columns).
    Hope this helps,
    Scott

  • Is there a way to increase the icon size (and the text below) without using zoom?  I am trying to help out someone who has moderate visual impairment that does not want to use zoom just to see the icons and their labels.

    Is there a way to increase the icon size (and the text below) without using zoom in iOS 7?  I am trying to help out someone who has moderate visual impairment that does not want to use zoom just to see the icons and their labels.

    Hello Apple.
    It seems you have gone to great lengths to improve accessibility in many areas of the iPad. Why was this obvious problem with icon text size missed?  (It's not with the Mac.). And for so long too.
    Do you employ people with actual accessibility problems to help you do UI design?
    I think too, that some buttons are too close for people who might have motor control problems.
    I love my iPad but I fear as I age, the iPad might not keep up with me.

  • Calendar in Yosemite does not comply to Sidebar icon size setting?

    The icon size and the font size in the sidebar of System apps can be set in
    System Prefs => General => Sidebar icon size
    The Finder of OS X 10.10 does react to this setting, Mail.app does and in Mavericks also Calendar.app did.
    On my MBP running Yosemite, Calendar v8.0 always shows quite large icons and a large font in the sidebar.
    Is this a problem of my installation, or is it "normal"?
    There are other problems of the Calendar sidebar, for example I am unable to enlarge the sidebar to show longer names of individual calendars.

    If you want the calendar entries that you create on the phone to sync with the gmail, you need to create the entry in the gmail calendar on the phone.  If you create it in the phone calendar, it is only on the phone.
    Usually at the very top of the new event entry you have a choice of which calendar to create this event in.  Either Phone, gmail or any other option you have synced to your phone.  To get it to sync to the gmail calendar you need to select the gmail calender.

  • Change icon size in dock

    I upgraded to OS X 10.9 from Mountain Lion. The icons on my dock (which I have on the right hand side of my screen) all became smaller with the upgrade. When I move the slider bar in dock settings (in system preferences) from small to large the icons do not change size as they did in Mountain Lion. Is this a bug in Mavericks or do I need to do something besides moving the slider bar from small to large? Thanks.
