Mailbox issue - Symbol - Clock?

My inbox has a symbol next to it that looks like a clock (maybe a pie with a slice missing).... I cannot retrieve mail or send mail? I cannot find anything about this symbol....
I get this error message periodically.....
Some actions taken while the account “NC Fat Boy” was offline could not be completed online.
Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online. Mail has saved other messages in mailbox “On My Mac” in “On My Mac” so that you can complete the actions while online.
Additional information: The connection to the server “imap.gmail.com” on port 993 timed out

That symbol is indicating that it is trying to sync with the server.
It can't seem to talk to the gmail account, so it can't finish syncing.
When Mail can't talk to gmail, I will open up a browser and log into gmail from there. That seems to reset something on the gmail server so Mail can connect again.

More overstuffed mailbox issues.

My co-workers and I have recently experienced overstuffed mailbox issues and I have been using this forum to figure out what to do. We had been getting "Not downloaded from server" info, and sure enough the mailboxed in question are as large as 1.7 Gb.
Now the only problem is, I don't know how, if at all, the messages from this folder can be retrieved so that some of them can be saved. Ideally, we would like to delete most of the messages but keep the most recent in an active mailbox for searching purposes. Then we would be dilligent in the future about deleting old work to avoid this in the future.
But what can I do right now? I read something about a "Breaker Script" but I don't know how to get it, or what the exact procedure for using it would be.
Please help- thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thanks, this worked perfectly! Is it possible, though, that using this script might make the split mailboxes, or maybe the Mail program in general, run more slowly? This seems to be happening to me today, but it may be unrelated.

Issue of Clock resetting-MacBook Pro

I use MacBook Pro and have installed Win 8. I have this issue of clock setting which sets as +5 1/2 hrs after every logoff. The time update does not happen automatically though i have tried several others in the drop down list other than time.windows.com. Any fix

The problem is in the syncronisation to internet time settings. As i logoff and logon the time though selected Indian Time is showing as +5 1/2 hours. When i manually sync to internet time settings by selecting time.windows.com or time.nist.gov, it says that an error has occured and when i try the second time to sync it syncs and the perfect time for india is displayed.

Hi I am having some serious issues with my laptop. I believe hat it is having overheating problems and freezes constantly. Lately it gave me error: enable clock spreading returned with 0 sh-2.05a# when I start up and cannot get beyond the gray screen! I am desperate what can I do? Mailbox Issues in New Databases in DAG

Ran across a strange problem after moving mailboxes into 2 new Databases in DAG. We have a 2 Server DAG that
had 2 existing DBs. We created 3 additional DBs and planned on moving all MBs over to reclaim space from the older DBs. After moving 30 or so Mbs to the new Databases we found that while mailflow functioned, we could not access any shared mailboxes or mailboxes
that had full control permissions could not be added. Users that had been moved but had shared MBs on another DB in Outlook would get error messages that Folders could not be expanded or Exchange Server was unreachable, all while mail flow was functioning.
Moving these users back to the original DBs solves the issue.
Any ideas what could be happening to the new DBs added to the DAG? The DBs were mounted and copies were healthy.

Did you rebuild profile to check if the issue persist after we move mailbox to new DB?
Are there multiple DCs in your organization? And please make sure sync is no problems between DCs.
After we move mailbox, we could check if shared permission or Full Access Permission is missing on recipient mailbox.

Mail rebuild mailbox issue with Gmail

I set up Mail 4.6 to receive and send e-mails to and from Gmail as per the instructions on the Gmail site and used additional information on this forum.
What is happening is whenever I rebuild the gmail folder it downloads again all the files I have deleated. I rebuild after deleting a lot of Spam and e-mails I no longer need.
As recommended the account is set as a imap account.
Under the mailbox tab it is set:
DRAFTS: Store draft messages on server - box not checked
SENT: Store sent messages on server - box not checked
           Delete message: dropdown set to: One day old
JUNK: Store Junk messages on server - box not checked
          Delete message: dropdown set to: One day old
TRASH: Move deleted message to the Trash mailbox - box is checked
             Store deleted messages on the server: - box not checked
             Permanently erase Delete message when: dropdown set to: One day old
Under the Advance tab it is set:
Enable this account - box is checked
Include when automatically checking for new messages - box is checked
Compact mailboxes Automatically - is greyed out - box is checked
Keep copies of messages for offline viewing: dropdown set to: All messages and their attachments
I am not sure is this last item of 'Keep copies of messages for offline viewing' refers to the the Gmail server or the mail box - if it is the gmail server then I guess Mail is just syncronising with this; thus any mails I delete will be down loaded again. ((All the other mail servers I use I set under Advance tab to 'Remove copy from server after retrieving message' - but this option is not shown for gmail.
Two things are happening:
a) When I delete files in the Mail, Gmail folder the next time I rebuild the mail box I get 1000 + emails down loaded; even though I may only have deleted 30 or so.
b) At other time mail will show downloading e-mails in the blue download indicator, but no new emails appear.
Would welcome some direction on how to resolve these issues; thank you.

The issue with g-mail became cronic. Now I can't delete e-mails received to my gmail account.
When I try to delete emails in the gMail or Mail inbox the following message is show.
The Message could not be removed to the mailbox (null)
The destination mailbox "(null)" does not allow messages to be moved to it.
This started after following the recomendation I found in the forum to sync gmail folders to the Mail - folders.
I am looking for solution to get back to the original condition that while not what it should be it is better than now.
Was hoping for solution were I wouldn't have to delete gmail account from mail then start again.
Any ideas welcome as I would like to delete emails in the gmail folders in Gmail without logging into Gmail every time.

Exchange 2010 /hosting shared mailbox issue

Hello everyone.
I had an issue come up in our Exchange 2010 with /hosting switch deployment (currently at SP2).
We have several organizations and shared mailboxes configured and working on some. We add Full access permissions via Powershell + Send as rights and it auto configures and works just fine.
Last week though, one of several people that uses a specific shared mailbox started getting the error: "Unable to open your default e-mail folders. The Microsoft Exchange Server computer is not available. Either there are network problems or the
Microsoft Exchange Server computer is down for maintenance." (Error ID: 300)
The other users can still work just fine. Configuring the account in another PC shows the same problem (so it's not the local profile).
Creating 2 users, giving nr1 full access to nr2 generates the same error.
In another org though, i was able to give full access to another acount to an existing user and it worked (although the auto-mapping didn't, had to add it manually)
I'm out of ideias. Any sugestions?
EDIT: Did a couple more tests on another Org. On this one everything works with the shared folder access with old and new accounts but strangely the auto-mapping doesn't.
It seems that this is an issue with the mapping.

From your description, I recommend you manually update or create your Outlook profile with RPC encryption and check the result. Here is the steps on Outlook 2007 for your reference:
1. Select your profile, and then click Properties, click E-mail Accounts.
2. Select the Microsoft Exchange Server account, and then click Change.
3. In the dialog box that contains your mailbox server and user name, click More Settings.
4. In the Microsoft Exchange Server dialog box, click the Security tab.
5. Click to select the Encrypt data between Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Exchange check box, and then click OK.
6. Click Next, and then click Finish.

Mailbox Issue - Won't Delete ANY mail

Hi there,
I seem to have an issue with Mailbox on my MacBook Air. Please note: I did NOT have the issue on my iMac, before I sold it and reset it. Both Mailbox accounts were set up exactly the same.
I have a hotmail account which I have set up through Mailbox. I can send and receive with no issues at all. The only thing I can't do is delete the mail. I have over 15,000 junk emails and can't delete them. It's exactly the same with my Sent and Trash folders. I like a nice clean Mailbox - this isn't good for my OCD!

Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Advanced tab for the account preferences, is "Remove copy from server after retrieving a message" selected and if so, what is your selection below for removing messages from the server when downloaded by the Mail.app?

2 Boot Camp Issues: Time clock and Display resolution

I have windows vista ultimate installed on a separate partition from OSX on my primary internal HDD. I have the newest release of bootcamp (1.4). I have two really weird issues. The first issue is when I restart after using windows and boot up into OSX, the time clock is always different (usually about 7 hours behind) and I have to go in and reset it each time. This normally wouldn't bug me except that I find myself using Windows (unfortunately) a lot for certain programs.
Another issue is that when I am in windows my primary display goes to 1900x1200 (the native resolution), but my other display that I have plugged in, a Samsung SyncMaster 245BW, only goes to 1024x768 (the highest setting i can choose), when the native resolution should also be 1900x1200, like it is in OSX. I've tried finding drivers and the samsung website says that the windows generic plug and play drivers should work fine. Is this a bootcamp/hardware issue or a samsung/driver issue?

There is nothing that you can do about the clock issue other than what you are already doing. OS X stores the time in the hardware as UTC (GMT) time. Windows stores the time in the hardware as your local time. 7 hours slow at this time (daylight saving time) indicates that you are in the Pacific time zone.

Lion and Mailbox issues

I'm recently new to Apple, having just bought a Mac Air. I've configured Mailbox because I hate using the service provider sites to deal with my email, preferring a simple, no nonesense email service without instant messager, flashing lights emotions and other hype. Unfortunately my Mailbox seems to want to retrieve my entire history of sent messages from my configured email accounts and even more annoying is that I seem to have to keep deleting the same messages from my trash before they finally die! The other curious issue is that I sometimes find I have several copies of a sent message in my draft folder.
Is this just happening to me? Is there a way of keeping my mailbox under control?

I have the same issue.
Safari would stall and sometimes stop responding without any reason.
Three things seems to help.
1. Stop automatic graphics card switching (if you have discreet card). Could be issues with graphics drivers not knowing "how" to render a web page when moving from program to program.
2. Turn off automatic brightness control.
3. When Safari crawls, turning of HOVERZOOM usually brings Safari back to normal. I now have this off and seems to be helping a lot.

Keyboard issue (symbols button and "a" button doesn't work at all

Hi, Im having trouble with mi Iphone 4S keyboard. (I have installed IOS 8.0.2 update, don't know if that's the problem).
The issue is that when I'm typing, I touch de "a" letter section to write something down but nothing happens, it seems if i'm not writing anything
A similar thing occurs when y try tu touch de "123" button to write down some symbol like "!", but when I touch that button, the keyboard changes to Emoji Keyboard, like if I have touched the "world" button that its on its right (but I don't).
Any help? PLEASE.
I have restore settings, restore iPhone but nothing happened.

Exchange mailbox issues

Earlier today my Exchange mailbox stopped working with the error message 'Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server failed.'
Our IT department has confirmed that the Exchange server is working correctly, and I'm able to access my emails on my iMac and Macbook. I can also access them via the Exchange remote web link so it's definitely not the server.
I've since updated to iOS 6.1.3 which hasn't resolved the issue.
I've deleted the mailbox and added it again a dozen times. And I've switched the phone on and off about 10 times at various stages of the delete/add process.
Now, when I try to add it again, I get the error message 'Exchange Account. Unable to verify account information.'
Does anyone have any ideas?

Are you trying to do this while on cellular data or wifi? If cellular, which carrier... I've read ppl have had problems with Verizon when trying to do this but it's intermittant.
If wifi, is it corporate or your home wifi? Some corporate wifi's block access to exchange mail (mine does) so we have to use corporate desktop email to log conversations.

500 unexpected error : Editing Resource mailbox Issue

Not able to edit resource mailbox in 2013. Issue is not for all resource mailbox only for few resource mailbox's it gives me error 500 unexpected error . Request could not be completed. any idea we are migrating from ex2007 to 2013 When we create new resource

Could you perform other operations in EAC?
You said that issue was not for all resource mailbox, only some resource mailboxes were affected. If that is the case, I recommend you compare these affected resource mailbox with other normal mailbox and check if there is any difference between them.
If possible, I recommend you move a resource mailbox to a different mailbox database to check result.

IPhone 4 texting issues (symbols)

Here's the deal....
My girlfriend recently got the new iPhone 4 through Verizon and ever since that day, once in a while when she texts me the texts show up on my phone as funky symbols, not regular words. I'd say the problem happens once every two days or so and about two times a day. We text quite a bit so I'd say it happens about 5% of the time. Its getting pretty annoying because she sends the correct words through her text message but it shows up as odd symbols on my end. I have a Blackberry Tour with Verizon and I've never had that issue ever in the past.
This doesn't seem to happen with anyone else that she texts so why does it happen??? I've already pressed *228 option 1 on her iPhone to reset it, but it continues with the same issue. The phone is only 2 weeks old! If anyone has any thoughts they'd be greatly appreciated!

When you say using messages app that's standard for the iPhone you do mean that you're using the app that came preloaded on the iPhone, correct? Try deleting any apps you added to the iPhone (you will be able to easily and quickly sync them back to your iPhone). Then do a reset. Try testing the messaging after that and see if the problem still exists. It is possible that some app you have put on your phone is causing trouble...even though you aren't using it to text. As far as VZ saying nothing could be done...who did you speak to? I doubt that was the 1st and only answer they gave you without trying to make sure there is no other issue...if they did then you need to call again. At the very least it would seem that some attempt at trouble shooting would occur and a trouble ticket initiated...but an immediate answer of "nothing can be done" without any other comment seems odd.

VM Mailbox issue

Dear Team,
Sometime I am facing issue with VM mailbox while importing to unity server , when i assign VM proofile to extension in device profile and trying to import in unity connection server it does not display and in that case i have to create mailbox manually.
i unable to uinderstand what could be the cause but its a issue

When you say "importing" is this through LDAP?
are you saying this sometimes works, where other users you cant import through that same LDAP scheme?
Only thing that I can think of is that you have applied some custom filter in Unity that prevents a certain user from being imported.
for the rest, like Chris mentioned, there is no correlation between the 2.
