Mailbox keeps reappearing after I delete it.

This isn't a major problem, but I have a subfolder in my trash mailbox that keeps reappearing after I delete it (it shows up as "on my mac"). I didn't create that mailbox and I really don't want it. How do I delete it for good?

These are "On My Mac" mailboxes.
When creating a mailbox in Mail, the default location is "On My Mac" which is stored locally on the hard drive.
If you have a .Mac or IMAP type account, you can also choose the account name as the location to create a mailbox stored on the server.

  • HT204003 how do I permanently delete a pass from my passbook account? (It keeps reappearing after being deleted.)

I have a pass in passbook that keeps reappearing after being deleted. It pops up (location sensitive) despite the fact that I have disabled the location services, repeatedly. I need to permanently delete it.

    Hi, sophiaskoub.
Thank you for the question.  The most common cause for this is having Automatic Downloads enabled on the secondary computer.  See the first article on how to disable this feature.  The other attached articles cover how to delete media from iTunes and hiding any purchases that have been made.

  • Reminder lists,.....keep reappearing after I delete them

No matter where I delete lists I created,.....a few minutes later they reappear. I synch reminders with the iCloud but I figured when I delete them from the actual iCloud account on line it would permanently delete them,......no luck.

Open the Mail preferences window and select the Accounts tab. Select one of the IMAP accounts from the list on the left. Under Mailbox Behaviors, uncheck the box marked
Store junk messages on the server
Repeat for all other IMAP accounts, if any. Close the window and save the changes.

  • Apple Mail rules keep reappearing after I deleted them!

I created some rules in Apple Mail to play a bit around but after I deactivated and finally deleted them, they keep appearing and formatting all my mails.
So now I have no rules defined under preferences but they are still somehow active.
How can I remove them completely?

I have this exact same problem. I created a rule for Mail to move e-mails, with some given keywords in them, into the junk folder. Then I removed the rule completely, deleted it. But all incoming e-mail are still moved to the folder. Although I have NO rules left.

  • How can I delete an email message on iphone that keeps reappearing after I delete it?

I have received 1 email that I can not delete from my iphone 4.  I delete it and it ust reappears. same if I move it to trash. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this email?

You can't delete from one without affecting the other.  simply change the limit on how many days of mail you want the phone to sync.
Do you really need 61,000 emails?

  • Dashboard widgets keep reappearing after restart!

    Hi all.
Every time I reboot my mac, a series of widgets keep reappearing in my dashboard that I previously removed. It's just a couple iterations of the calculator and stickies. But every time I delete them, after reboot they come back.
I tried deleting my dashboard prefs but for some reason this didn't help!
    Any ideas?

    HI Scott,
    To remove a widget:
To open Dashboard, press the Dashboard key.
If your keyboard doesn’t have a Dashboard key, press Fn-F12. If your keyboard doesn’t have an Fn key, press F12.
Click the Open + button to open the widget bar.
    Click Manage Widgets.
    Do one of the following:
To remove a widget’s name from the widget bar, deselect it in the list.
To remove a widget from your computer, click its Remove - button, and then click OK. Widgets that are preinstalled with Mac OS X don’t have Remove buttons.

  • Why ar my voicemails reappearing after I delete them?

I am with AT&T and have a 5s. I have deleted my voice messages at least six different times today. The same voice messages keep reappearing. What's the deal? One of my co workers has had the same issue. Swapped his phone and is still having the same exact problem.

But it's only supposed to download new content. So if I delete old items, then I expect to only auto download the new items from that day.

  • I have been annoyed with a persistent YouTube video, entitled: McDonald's: Super Bowl XLIX Pay With Lovin', that keeps reappearing after I restart the comput

All evening I have repeatedly had a new tab opened on Firefox and a YouTube video appears entitled: McDonald's: Super Bowl XLIX Pay With Lovin' . I am unable to close the tab (Firefox just freezes up), and it reappears after shutting down the computer and rebooting. I have cleared all history, caches, etc, and nothing seems to help. I don't even know how the YouTube clip arrived initially. I did not request it; it was just there when I got back from dinner.
    Any ideas?

    Hello,
The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
'''''Note:''' When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences.'' See the [[Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings]] article for more information.
    To Refresh Firefox:
    # Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
#*Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click help [[Image:Help-29]] and select ''Troubleshooting Information''. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
#*If you're unable to access the Help menu, type '''about:support''' in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
#At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
#Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
#Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.
Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Event Keeps Reappearing After Delete, Event Keeps Reappearing After Delete

I created an event and noticed subsequently that, in addition to this, the same event appeared again on a different date. I left the original and deleted the spurious event/date but, as soon as I touch any other date to make a new entry, it reappears - same spurious event on same date!! I am running iCal Version 7.0 (1835.1). I have done the usual Quit/Force Quit iCal and shutdown/restart. Anyone any ideas as to why please?
Now found this discussion already in progress but can't delete this one - help!!

  • Photo keeps reappearing after delete

Hi, I want to delete pictures from iPhoto library. I put them into trash, then click "empty trash". The problem is that when I do that the pictures reappear back into the iPhoto library. It's so annoying! I even tried to delete the originals in my iPhoto library folder. How can I completely get rid of these pictures?!

I'm deleting them from the library, then i try to delete them from the trash but the pictures just go back into the library as if I haven't deleted them at all. Is there a way to change a setting or preference?? Thanks.

  • My deleted emails keep reappearing!  cannot delete them!

I have a weird problem. In Mail, I keep getting a ton of deleted old emails. They just reappear in the inbox. I rebuilt the envelope index file. I rebuilt the mailbox. Still same problem.
It is a comcast POP email account.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help with this!

    I have the same problem
I discovered that if I look at emails that have been sent to trash, select them and press delete they all come back into the trash. When I do the proper erase deleted messages then they don't.
I noticed some people were having this problem on iphone as well.
I now have emails coming back into the Trash weeks, or months after I have deleted them, particularly ones with photos attached that I have sent through Kodak EasyShare, and copied to myself!! does anyone know what I can do about this? apart from being a waste of time, I might receive 100 photos in one day which slows everything down and effects my data usage.
And sometimes their are multiple maybe 5, copies of the same emails
    apart from that
I often receive two copies of the same emails, one will go into my inbox and one to trash or wherever I have a rule set for it to go.
I have loads of emails, I sort them all into folders with rules, and keep them for easy reference, especially if they are about work, would this have anything to do with it? Is there a limit on how many emails you can keep?

  • Duplicate Genius Mixes keep reappearing after I remove them

iTunes keeps generating duplicate Genius Mixes. I right click on them and remove them but when I go back to Genius Mixes they're back again.
Also the duplicate ones contain songs that don't fit under the title. For instance, iTunes generates 3 Singer/Songwriter mixes, one which is the original one and contains Stevie Nicks, Billy Joel, Elton John and others, while the other two mixes contain Herman's Hermits, New World, The Beach Boys, The Turtles and The Monkees, all of which don't fit into the Singer/Songwriter genre.
I don't think it should be a problem for iTunes to generate different mixes, considering that I have over 5,000 items in my library and a wide variety of genres.
How do I stop iTunes from generating the same mixes?

I have this exact same problem. I created a rule for Mail to move e-mails, with some given keywords in them, into the junk folder. Then I removed the rule completely, deleted it. But all incoming e-mail are still moved to the folder. Although I have NO rules left.

  • License Software Agreement keeps reappearing after clicking "Accept" (CS5 free trial) Feb 2011

    Dear all
I found a lot of threads on this problem, some saying that you need a patch, but I didn't need one. I called up Adobe Technical support (UK) and my call was picked up promptly.
This is how the issue was resolved in Windows Vista (32-bit):
    1) Click on Start -> Computer-> C Drive -> Program Files -> Common Files-> Adobe-> Adobe PCD
    2) Open the Cache folder and delete the Cache file
    3) Empty your Recycle bin to completely remove the Cache file
    4) Now click a CS5 application.
    It should now work.
    Good Luck!

    Hi,
    It helps. Thank you.

    Hi,
The Download Assistant should automatically start installing once you click on the download button. The "Download" button sometimes shows up after a few seconds as seen in the screenshot below:
    http://forums.adobe.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/2-4157217-151716/450-253/Untitle d.jpg
In case you continue to have issues, I would recommend using a different browser to start the trial download.
    Hope this helps

  • Applications keep reappearing after being removed from notifications

I go into the Notifications preference pane and remove most of the applications, and change what I want to see for the few that remain. After I shut down my computer and come back and restart the next day, all of the applications are back. This happens both on my work iMac and my home MacBook Pro. Extremely frustrating; am I missing something or is there a way to fix this?

Is it necessary to misread what I wrote as some sort of criticism or personally directed at you? All I intended was to ask for additional people to post an answer because I'm starting to become desperate to find out the answer and will be trying to call tech support when they're open again. I was not trying to demean your answer in any way. It's just that I'm trying to reach out for more people to answer in addition to you, not criticize your answer.
I don't see what's wrong with me asking for more responses when the answers in this thread don't solve it -- if I just sit here without asking for more replies, the thread will get buried. I tried everything you suggested but it didn't solve the problem, although I appreciated the suggestions.
Also I was hoping you could shed light on how the Address book might affect the cookies in the browser and that was part of what I meant to convey but apparently because I typed it hastily you assumed the worst tone possible -- I did not intend a nasty tone but I'm not speaking when I type and you cannot hear my intended tone of voice. At any rate if I notice the cookies stop showing up now that I've deleted the URL from my address book, I will report back.

  • Toolbar search engines keep reappearing after closing Firefox after "Managing" and unchecking "Show search engines" box. Why?

I have gone to "Manage Search Engines", deleted the ones I don't want, and unchecked the "Show search engines" box several times. Every time I close and re-open Firefox all of the original search engines are back in the list. Why is this, and how do I fix it?

Hello AleishaDawn1980, default search engines are stored in the Firefox [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installation_directory installation directory] in the "searchplugins" folder, you can find and delete the "*.xml" file (e.g., "google.xml") if you like.
If the search engine you want to delete is a newly-installed(you install it) then it is store in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox profile folder] again in the "searchplugins" folder, find it and delete it.
    thank you
