Mailbox progress wheels missing??

I just recently installed Mountain Lion & don't care much for some of the new changes in Mac mail.
Does anyone know if there's a way to turn back on, the little spinning progres wheels, that used to be next to each mailbox in the left panel of Mac Mail?
They let you know what each individual mailbox was doing, if it was still checking for mail or not.
Feels kinda wierd without them there.
Any help?
Thanks in advance.

Well, according to those articles, the Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors > Trash settings are highly relevant, so what about letting us know what those settings are in your case? Or better yet, what about letting us know whether you changed any of those settings recently, as I suggested in my first post? It seems to me that this is essential information that you should have already provided...

  • IMac G3 Gray screen w/logo & Spinning Progress Wheel only!

When turning on my iMac G3 DV SE 400, Slot-Load, Graphite (1999-10), OS 10.3 (Panther), it only goes as far as a gray screen with the Apple logo and the spinning wheel (gear) (Progress wheel) below the logo, and that's it.
I've started up in Target Mode and transferred everything to my PowerBook.
I've started up from disk 1 of 10.3, went to Utilities and did a disk repair a few times.
I did a Restore from the same disk, but only that disk; there is no way to eject, except for manual, and then when the second disk is inserted (and re-starting, holding the "C" key), it just goes into the spinning Progress wheel routine.
My next step is to Erase the Hard drive, and then reload the 4-disks of 10.3.
Is this the correct thing to do? Is there something else I should be doing?
I suspect there is a corrupted piece of data that is preventing the computer from advancing during start-up, and erasing and re-loading 10.3 will clear it up. Wishful thinking?
Thanks in advance for any help.

You have already started up from Disc 1 and run Disk Utility from there. All you have to do now is go to the Erase tab. Make sure you have selected the internal DRIVE, not the volume indented below the drive, in the Disk Utility sidebar. If you want to be able to boot Mac OS 9 from the drive, check the checkbox to install Mac OS 9 drivers (there's no harm in checking it either way). Click Erase.
This will reformat the drive and any disk directory error should go away, assuming there are no underlying hardware issues with the drive.
You can then return to Installer and install Mac OS X on a clean drive. This will make any problems you may have had with the previous system go away.
After your system restarts, it would be a good idea to run Disk Utility (from the internal drive) and use the +Repair Disk Permissions+ routine. Then, immediately run Software Update to install the latest OS updates. You may have to restart and run it a second time to pick up all the dependent updates.

  • Mailbox folders are missing, like priority, follow up, etc.  How do I get them back?

All of my personal mailbox folders are missing like follow up, priorities, reservations, online receipts, etc.  How do I get them back?  I did soft reset but it did not resolve the problem.  I recently updated the software but that was about a week ago.   This just happened a day ago.  Any help would be so appreciated.
    THanks!

I think that Dominic is giving a suggestion for the mail application on a Mac computer, not an iPad.
If you had additional mailboxes on the iPad, that means that your email account is IMAP and the mailboxes should sync across devices. Are the mailboxes/folders still in existence when you log into your email account in a web browser? If they era still there, then they should sync to the iPad and yo all of your other devices.
Try closing mail completely and reset your iPad. Then see if they reappear.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • No progress wheel for Sent folder?

What would cause there to be no progress wheel for sending mail? On my mom's PowerBook when she sends an email there is no indication that it's working. She has to wait until she hears the sent mail sound to be sure it worked. On my Mail I get a progress wheel. I've checked all her settings and can't figure out what's causing the difference. She's running the latest version of Tiger.

I just enabled the "store messages on server" selection on my mac mail for the same issue. I wanted my sent items viewable on all computers as I had before. I think it must have changed during the "mobile me" switchover.
Now that I have made that selection, all my "sent" mail disappeared immediately, but I found it all further down in my Left Column folder area, in a section called " On My Mac" I found another sent messages folder. They all went there from my .mac account, when I selected "store a copy on server" . I have now sent off my first new message from my .mac account, and it shows up as the only "sent" message, on all computers with my account. All the other messages are in the other folder, described above.
Definitely something changed with the "mobileme" migration and it's not quite right. It's light starting over again.
But in my case the messages are there, just in a different location.

  • Spinning progress wheel in Captivate 7 SWF - need help ASAP!

We have created an SWF in Captivate 7 of a tutorial for a work project, but  a spinning progress wheel appears throughout the video, although the EXE and native Captivate version of the tutorial work fine. Need help with this by EOD to meet a crtical work deadline. Thanks!

Lost all contact info.  All my Aps are there but all the data/progress is missing.  When I plug my iphone into the usb fto synch up with my itunes on the computer a message comes up and says "enter the password to unlock your iphone backup file".  This is very frustrating

I suggest trying the update again after an hour or two.  Sometimes, the notice that an update is available comes an hour or two before the developers actually sends the revised app out to be downloaded.

  • IMac G4 starts up to gray apple screen progress wheel, then shuts down.

I was trying to boot to an external drive when this started. I was holding down key combinations (I think at the time it was Option-Command-Del), and the screen went black. Power Off.
Now, even after resetting PRAM and PMU, among other things, the same process occurs:
    1) I press Power Button.
    2) Chimes.
    3) Gray screen, progress wheel. Little sound inside. Wheel stops.
    4) iMac shuts off by itself.
When trying Verbose mode, I see it says "CPU Halted" the second before it shuts off.
    Any ideas, masters of mac?

Try using Disk Utility to repair your startup disk (hard drive) as shown in Dr.Smokes Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption.
It's worth trying the repairs several times with fsck or DU, you never know. But, more then likely you will need a more robust utility, DiskWarrior, to repair that fairly serious error. It costs a few bucks, but if your data is worth saving DW may fix it.
We always recommend users, here, have at least one backup drive. I have two bootable backups. I have had backups also go bad, so two seems safer to me!
    Cheers!

  • Only grey screen, apple, and progress wheel

After an update, the MacBook put up a screen and told me to shut down. NO other options were available except the shutdown button. Since then I have tried starting up with the CD that came with the MacBook (Three, two black OS disks and a USB disk, It does not appear to be the full retail version with big X on it like photos I have seen in other chat threads) When I power up I ONLY get the grey screen, a delay for the apple, a further delay for the gear/progress wheel.
I have tried holding down various combinations of keys, including: shift; c; control; control and c; and waiting for several minutes after trying to restart. There is no chime. Occasionally I have tried holding down the power button for prolonged periods of time: I get a flashing power light, and then a tone (NOT the chime thing) then it goes to grey screen etc. and stays there with spinning progress wheel.
Any suggestions as to how to get my MacBook to read the OS CD?

    You’re welcome.
Don’t known what the situation really is here, but if you can boot from the Install disc and Disk Utility reported no filesystem issues, you should be able to recover your data. The following is what I would have posted in my first reply if it wasn’t because of what you said about not being able to boot from the Install disc.
Problems arising right after installing a system update are usually the result of some filesystem corruption that should have been fixed first, or not having installed the update properly (e.g. applications running while installing it), or having ignored Apple’s “Important: Please read before installing” warnings, etc.
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, reinstall the update using the combo installer:
About the Mac OS X 10.4.9 Combo Update
Mac OS X 10.4.9 Combo Update for PowerPC
Mac OS X 10.4.9 Combo Update for Intel
If you cannot do this by normal means, but have an external HD with Mac OS X 10.4 installed from which to boot your Mac, or have access to another Mac with Mac OS X 10.4 installed and with a FireWire port to which connect your Mac in Target Disk Mode, you may be able to fix the problem by starting up that way, verifying/repairing the disk, then reinstalling the Combo Update (on the disk that doesn’t boot, not on the disk from which you’re booting to do this).
After installing the Combo Update, the computer may restart twice and the first restart may take several minutes. This is normal.
If the problem persists, you’ll have to consider doing a full Archive and Install, but make sure first that all the filesystem issues, if any, have been fixed, that you have enough space available on disk, and that all your data has been backed up (which again you can do connecting your Mac in Target Disk Mode to another Mac if you cannot do it by other means).

  • Panther: disappearing mailbox contents/partial missing contents

I'm running 10.3.9 because I still need to run VPC, so I'm using Mail 1.3.11.
This morning many of the inboxes I created myself no longer have content shown at all, and some have partially missing content.
The Library-->Mail-->Mailboxes-->(mailbox name) files still show large file sizes, so I assume (hope) the contents are still there but not visible.
I tried running "Rebuild" on one of the problem mailboxes with partially missing files and was completely successful in getting ALL the messages to disappear. Not quite what I had in mind...
    How can I recover?
    Thanks much!
    Dave

    The Library-->Mail-->Mailboxes-->(mailbox name)
files still show large file sizes, so I assume (hope)
the contents are still there but not visible.
How large is each mailbox that has the problem?
Send me an email and I'll forward you an mbox breaker script that splits a mailbox into smaller sections to recover all messages. You can get my email address by selecting my name.
There is no guarantee with the script but it has worked well for others.
All email clients have limits and the recommended size limit for a Jaguar/Panther mailbox is 1GB and for Tiger Mail, 2GB but an "overstuffed" mailbox issue can occur at any mailbox size depending on the number and size of attachments contained in the mailbox.

  • Progress Wheel Captivate 6

    Hi All,
I've created a Progress Wheel to recap steps to logging in remotely and to add interaction to the tutorial. What happens if I add audio to the slide is that the published version stops when the Progress Wheel slide plays and when I hit play (display controls) I get sent to the next slide. If I take out the audio and just use a caption everything works fine, should I be recording to the widget and not the slide or something??? Any ideas? I'll try the latter since writing this made me think of it and let you know.
    Thanks!
OK, tried recording to the widget, but still had to move the video forward which led to me being forwarded to the next slide, any ideas out there? Mucho appreciated!

    Hi,
As I understand you video on ProgressWheel Slide stops while viewing output. Can you elaborate more about the structure of this slide, what objects are used, if any interactive object is set to 'pause after' under timings?
But is the duration of all objects w.r.t. to audio on this slide?
Can you go to your widget proerties and choose Synchronbize with project and see if that is timed to pause?
    Thanks,
    Anjaneai

  • Finder's search-progress indicator missing: Yosemite

    Hi,
I've been searching high and low for weeks about this, but have yet to see anything.  I hope I'm typing in the wrong keywords because my issue is very frustrating.
When searching using the finder with Yosemite 10.2, there isn't a spinning circle or bar or anything to indicate that a search is happening.
I don't know if it hasn't found anything at all, or if it's frozen, or if it's still searching.  Is there a way to bring back the search progress circle to Yosemite? Or an option to turn it on that I'm missing?  Thanks.  Let me know if you need any other info.
    Specs:
    Yosemite 10.2
    2.9 GHz Intel Core i5
    16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 1024 MN

Oh my goodness, thanks so much!  I am curious why that fix never popped up in searches when I googled it.  I never did type in "status" though.
    Thanks again =)

  • Trial Version: Outside Wheel Missing

I am running the trial version with a view to taking up a subscription having been a longtime CS4 and CS5.5 user, therefore Speedgrade is new to me.
I'm running the tutorials and notice on my trial version I have no outside rotary wheel on any of the wheel functions - I just have the colour wheel, no white rotary. Is this a feature intentionally missing in the trial version?
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
The outside wheel has been changed for the slider on the left side. It's exactly the same functionality but fit in a different way. Move the slider down to decrease the luminance and up to increase it.
    Thanks,
    Fran

  • Sound progress icon missing

    W530 on Windows 7-64 bit.
My sound bar (the one that indicates the sound progress as one presses the sound button) is missing for no known reason. Any suggestions on what the problem may be or on how to restore it?
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes I mean the one in Program Files.
In CCleaner, on the left, click Tools, then make sure you're in the Uninstall tab. Find the entries related to the hotkeys (System Interface Driver, On Screen Display, etc). For each, click it, then click Delete Entry.
Then try running the hotkey package setup again.
