Mailbox transfer from Apple mail to Windows Outlook 2010

There were thousands of emails in Apple mail email client. I sorted out and maild mailboxes for different types of emails. I separated work-related eails and other stuff related emails and made mailboxes for each. Now I want to move the work-related emails
to my windows laptop in Outlook 2010 email client.
I did try to sync the emails via Imap but the synchronization fails every time I try to sync the emails. I have double checked everything many times before synching but it always fails. Now I am sick of doing it as there are 10k plus mails and the sync is always
failing.
Is there any other way to transfer the mailbox from apple mail to outlook 2010. It would be very helpful of anyone can guide me to transfer only the work mailbox folder as syncing via Imap starts downloading all the emails including the others.
I just need to transfer the work folder.
Helpful solutions will be really appreciated.

Hi,
The easiest way to transfer data from Outlook for Mac to a Windows-based Outlook client is to upload to an exchange server. To do this, please refer:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2649169/en-us
However, if that option is not available use one of the methods listed in the link below:

  • Move emails from apple mail to windows outlook

    Hello Everyone,
I have recently bought a windows laptop as majority companions in my office have windows only. I also have mac book pro having apple mail as my e-mail client. I work in a small company in which e-mail is the life blood of our company. So now what I need to do is move all my emails from apple mail to outlook that is present in windows laptop. I haven't found any answers or discussions regarding this topic on this forum site. Can any one please help me get over with this problem or atleast guide me or direct me to the forum where solution for this query is posted.
Your help will be really appreciated. Thank you.

If both system are using the IMAP mail provider all you have to do is setup the connection to the mail server and all the emails and folders will be copied down to the windows computer. That is what IMAP is for. The mail stays on the server, and can be store on the local computer also, and when you connect to the server with another device, computer, phone or pad, all the mail with folders gets copied to the other device.
But I think some of your mail was gotten using POP so it is not longer on the server.
Or you have emails in local folder only and they would be on the server. But you can create folder on the server in one mail program, or on the mail web interface and then copy those emails into those folder on the server byt copying them in one of the email programs. Then when you logon with the other device all of them will be downloaded to the other device.

Sorry but this didn't work. I have around 4000 mails in some what 45 folders. Using IMAP i can transfer only one file at a time, that will take me days to transfer that amount of files.
Are there any other options available...???

  • How to export apple mail to Windows outlook 2013

Is there any possible solution available to export all my data from apple mail to windows systen in outlook 2013.
There are tons of emails that I have managed to save in the past 12 years (believe me there are a lot of them with multiple attachments) and I do not ant to loose any one of them. I Just want to move them to my windows system in outlook 2013 for which I could not find any particular solution.
On the other hand outlook 2013 is unablr to sync all my emails via Imap. It shows multiple errors which I am not able to figure out. PLease suggest any simpler method which posses minimum hassles. Thanks

Watching this long discussion I couldn't resist myself to share my view on this topic. Once in a while I too had the same problem and I had to transfer a **** lot of emails from Apple Mail client to Windows Outlook. Imap failed and was of no use for some stupid mail crashing reason. I searched for manual work-arounds and posted many queries on various mac forum sites (including this one). I received many responses as solutions for manual process but none of them could transfer my emails from apple mail to outlook.
I knew about the email converters but never wanted to pay a single penny for them but unfortunately I had too. I bought this apple mail to pst converter mentioned by TON456 and after archiving apple mail data and moving it to windows system, it took the application only three clicks to convert the email file format to the desired one that outlook can import (i.e, .PST). I saw no point in buying the tool but its the fault of email client makers for not providing the proper import/export means (seems kind of mean to me, as they need us to stick to their client only). Big companies like apple and microsoft should figure out this situation and provide free solutions.
On the other hand if Imap crashes (as mine did too) then users like us have no options other than email converters. Though they are costly but there is no help to user in pointing out those solution posts.
To the thread starter I would suggest to go with Imap mail configuration but if it still doesn't work then using the apple mail to pst converter is only way left. Thanks.

  • Email sent from Apple Mail to Outlook, recipient gets 2 versions

When I send an email from Apple Mail to my Outlook Express and open it in Outlook it shows two versions of the email. First is formatted the way I sent it (Rich Text) and then below that is the same message in Plain Text with an line (HR) between them.
I don't see any settings in either Mail or Outlook to change this. Only time it doesn't happen is if I send it as Plain Text to begin with.
(ps. read as Plain Text is not selected in Outlook)

You are typically "the man" on such issues, but I believe Apple has said some place that their RTF is only a subset of HTML? I know it gets converted to HTML like encoding, but did not think it is full HTML?
It's true that when composing in Mail you only have access to those parts of html that Apple has provided an interface for, so there are various html things you cannot do. But those things you can do, like choose the font, font size, font color, etc. are done with standard html codes, the Content-Type header of a "rich text" message says "text/html", and the message source starts out with the codes < html > < head > < body > like any other html message would.

  • I cannot ajust Apple Mail on Windows,

    Hello,
I would send mails from Apple Mail on Windows, that seem to be sent from anther account (xxx@gmail  for example).
But I cannot enroll an account (like [email protected]) for Apple Mail through Windows, as it is possible in Mail through MacOS.
    Sorry for my rough English...
    Who can Help me .
    Thank You.

Sure, there is no Apple Mail for Windows, but Windows users can log onto the internet : https://www.icloud.com/#mail ; and recover on this web site mails from thir account at Gmail or other...
No they can not, iCloud does not transport or store other providers email, to get your gmail you would go to www.gmail.com.
On Apple Mail (Mac or iPhone...), you can enroll your account @gmail (or other) then import your mails from Gmail to Mail (icloud) ; So you can recover on Mail messages aérrived on Gmail account (or other). And also you can send messages that seem to be sent from this other account.
When you log onto the internet : https://www.icloud.com/#mail ( from a PC / Windows ) you can not  enroll a new account (gmail or other) ; and so you cannot sent any mails that seems to be sent from your
Gmail address (as you can do on Mail ).
Is there a way to do this ? (the same thing on icloud/Mail as on Mac/Mail : to send mails that seem to be sent from your gmail account, or other)
    Thank you.
    M.
Your iPhone and your iPad (if you have one) are clients, they can be connected to multiple email systems (gmail/icloud/yahoo etc). The website is only 1 email system, it is the iCloud system, Gmail and others have their own websites. If you use Outlook on your PC for email you can get any mail you want, because, just like your phone, it is a client.

    Hi,
I take it you meant export from apple mail.
If so there is no export option available... Unless I'm looking in the wrong spot, have a import option for apple mail but no export.

Open Apple Mail, and open Preferences (under Mail in the Menu Bar).  On the General tab, check the "Default Email Reader" and set it to Mail (6.6).

Try copying the whold SD card to your desktop by holding down the Option key and dragging the SD card icon about 2 inches away from the where the card sits on the desktop. This should trigger Mac OS to make a copy of the whole SD card onto your Macintosh's desktop. Once it finishes from there, eject the SD card. Reboot your Mac then open iMovie without launching any other programs whatsoever. Go to the File Menu Import Movies from File... And point it at the copy of the SD card and see if it crashes again.

  • Convert mails from apple mail to outlook for mac 2011

    Hello,
need to convert mails from apple mail to outlook for mac 2011. have gone through Imap procedure and am tired of transferring mails manually coz there are thousands of'em. can anyone suggest any simple solution to this problem?
    thanks.

Create a IMAP account (GMAIL icloud etc.)
add account to Apple mail and Outlook 2011
Drag emails into a folder on the imap server and then go back to Outlook 2011 and drag the emails from the imap into your email. and your done all your emails
    are there.
There are third party tools available now-a-days for this kind of problems and they are pretty useful. You have just to select the files from the apple mail
that you want to convert and your mails are transferred within no time.
